Chris heard what Melinda said. He didn't know if he was more excited that finally Melinda had told him that, after he said that sentece to her over the summer. Or if he was just shocked, not really expecting that.

He looked at Melinda. He knew how she felt, and when he said this to her there was only four words he wanted to hear. He took her hand and looked her in the eyes. "I love you too." Chris told her meaning it, and not wanting to take it back this time.

Mel trembled. This was so unexpected, maybe. They had that discussion over the summer and it all got solved in less than ten minutes.

"I..." She said and looked at him in the eyes. Tears fell off her eyes and she pulled him into a hug. She couldn't say anything, she was nervous, in love, excited, in love.

Chris hugged her back. And smiled wide, really wide. "So how you feeling?" Chris whispered into her ear.

Melinda smiled wide and didn't know what to say. "Happy...I guess..:" She said, laughing and crying at the same time.

"And you?" She asked.

James chuckled softly. Ebony was the first person to ask him about the wizards and witches in Japan. He quite enjoyed her curiosity.
"It was amazing! I stayed in Tokyo most of the time, and in Kyoto for the last week. The people are quite nice. Actually, they're extremely nice. The Japanese magical world is so like ours. But they blend in with their muggles much more than we do here in London." he gave another chuckle.

Lisa looks around the hall, taking in everything. The house ghosts, the staff table at the front with the headmaster seated in the centre, all 4 house tables..everthing, she loved it. This was where she felt that she truly belonged. A smile appears on her face without her realising it.

Mariska looked up as she heard the headmistress speak,and she had to admit it had been a rather short and to the point speech. She wore a cool, bemused expression on her face and it was when the headmistress finished that she turned to her friends. " I guess that is that," She said with a slight shrug. " Are we really supposed to be going around and introducing ourselves to the teaches?" She asked as the students began milling about suddenly.

Edie took a spoonful of food and put it onto her plate.

"Thanks so much," she said to Ebony with a smile.

Edie served herself some tea and looked at Ebony.

"It is so much fun talking to you. I wish you were here last year," Edie said to Ebony.

Celandine grinned.
"Seventh floor? Neat!" She'd tire herself out easily trooping up and down to the seventh floor. "I really am keen on seeing the Library but it isn't just a Ravenclaw thing- I bet Nico will spend ages in there too."
She nodded, "I wouldn't say he worries exactly."

Celandine thought for a second as to the best way to describe what angsty was.

"Its like...when teenagers sigh about each other and make each other upset when really all they want to do is hold hands and kiss and stuff." Cela made a face before adding quietly, "eww."

Cela's face lit up as the kitten climbed onto her lap and her eww turned into an awwww.

"Oh I didn't like turning into a boy much; I didn't want to wear pants." Cela gestured to her skirt, "But some girls were really good at it. I guess they didn't mind about the pants."

Carefully she scooped the little kitten off her lap and gently passed Roscoe back to Raiden as he scratched the kitten's ears.

"I'd rather hang out with you than Nicholai." Celandine shook her head until her blonde hair bounced, "You are nicer than he is."

Could it be that Cela didn't quite view her brother with the same rose-tinted glasses as before?

"But he is alot of fun and really good at potions and he does stuff for me."

...maybe not quite yet.

"Important is good." Celandine nodded, "I don't know what I want to be." she brightened; "Maybe a librarian!"


"We can all go to the library together some time."

Celandine grinned at Meredith and at Barry upon hearing the headmistress' speech...as brief as it was.

"Ooooh its time to go to our common room!" Cela stood up- not wanting to wait, "I'll see you guys up there, and you guys," Cela grinned at the Slytherins, "around I guess."

She scooped up the owl cage and skipped off in a flurry of blonde hair; time to get started on that to do list.

Robert smiled, "I bet she is. Kittens are cute." He looked at Sabrina and took a sip of his pumpkin juice, "Magesta...interesting name." He took in her expression and didn't ask anything about Magesta instead he laughed and shook his head, "So we're like the opposite when it comes to families." He shrugged, "I guess that's just the way things go." He looked around at the tables noticing a lot of people from different houses at different tables, "I wonder how families cope with kids in different houses. Like...if there's a lot of competition or not. It would be kind of bad if your sibling got into the house your parents were in and you got into a different one. Talk about favoritism."

Elizabeth grinned as Mari joined in the competitiveness, and her joking about Asteira being outnumbered. "Of course it's all in good fun," she said. "And I'm all for letting more students join in."

She turned to Ludo as he apologized. "No need to apologize. You didn't do anything wrong." It wasn't his fault that it appeared not every one of the Ministry plants last term had been crazy. He had every right to have liked this Mr. Ingles.

Then he was asking them to explain a little about themselves, and Mari was first to step up. So she listened as the girl told them a little about herself. "So you transferred from France?," she asked, before going on. "Asteria's from France."

She glanced at her cousin, before speaking again. "Well, I'm actually from California. America. But my mother came here as a girl, so she sent my cousin Rhiannon here for a while, then decided to let me come too, starting last term. As I already told Mari, I have one older brother and two younger siblings. And a new baby neice . . ."

She trailed off as Headmistress Rae stood up and spoke.

Elizabeth had been a little surprised at the briefness of the headmistress' speech, but Mari spoke up before she could really think about it. "I guess so," she said in response to the other girl's comment. "I wouldn't worry overly much about introducing yourself to all the professors. They seem to get an idea of who everyone is, even if we don't directly address them beofre classes start. And there's always the possibility of seeing them in the grounds or something, too." She wasn't sure if she wanted to stay there, go to the dorm, or wander around for a while. It wasn't like she was exactly familiar with Hogwarts, since she had only ever experienced Belle's. But she was lucky she was a quick study.

"Thats it? come on at least something else thats very short" he said oh it was time to go he said "Goodbye Raiden I`ll be seeing you around!"
he then stood and followed Cela up to the common room

Ebony smiled as she listened, lowering her hands,the curiosity in her eyes peaking. "It sounds amazing. Was it as beautiful as the pictures show? How do they integrate so well, do the muggles not suspect at all? Fascinating! Did you try Sushi? What's it like?" Ebony's cheeks flushed again, as even more questions flew from her. "Sorry." She smiled, sheepishly.


Ebony smiled at Edie "Its great talking to you too." She took a small bite of her food before speaking again "I really wish I had been here last year as well, but at least I have two more years here now."

Smiling between James and Edie, Ebony rolled her now tepid tea cup between her hands "Where are my manners!" She chuckled "Edie, this is James, he's a sixth year as well. James, this is Edie, she's in fith." Ebony smiled at them both again, maybe she would make friends this year.

Maura raised an eyebrow. "Well, except that you are obsessed," she said. She shook her head. "I didn't mean it! Don't fail on purpose, stupid, then your whole life will be ruined!" She rolled her eyes at her friend's silliness.
Then she frowned. "Oh. That is a problem," she said. "Well I bet you'll run into him eventually. Is he here now?" She looked over towards the Gryffindor table. Then she nodded again. "Right. We'll worry about it when we have to." She laughed at Laylee's funny face.

Maura shrugged. She gave Laylee an I-don't-see-what-I-can-do-about-it look.
