"Well, all types really. There are love songs, loud songs, very emotionally profound songs. My goodness, they do have a range. I do have a book on them in my trunk. When we head up to our dorm, I'll lend you it. Actually, I have another copy so I'll give it to you to keep," Edie said.

Elizabeth simply nodded in response to Mari's comment. The other girl still seemed a bit out of sorts, and she hoped it wasn't entirely because of her innocent question about the Slytherin boy. But then Mari had jumped on the comment about her brother and Quidditch. "It's actuallly hectic. We hardly ever see him because he's always having to practice. We've gone to a couple games, but I haven't gone to any recently. Since I'm here and he's in a different country. My mother considers school more important, so while I'm here, I only get to hear about them. Jonathan was always the really big Quidditch fan."

She laughed as Asteira seemed to want to find the positive aspects of Bella's adventure. "Well, the least she could have done was actually get people talk to me. But no, it was more fun hiding." She chose not to respond to the exercise comment again. Then her cousin went on to ask about the superiority thing. Taking a deep breath, she tried to figure out how to answer. "Well, the guy who started Slytherin was obsessed or something with purebloods. He wanted only purebloods in the house. And people that were highly ambitious, to the extent of not caring what they did to get whatever they want." She stopped, feeling like she was doing a bad job of trying to explain it. But then, she only knew any of it from books.

She shook her head as Asteira pressed the idea of the competition. Grinning, she replied. "Sure. But you do realize I could always figure out ways to get you to lose points, right?" It was the first time she had even indirectly referred to the fact that she had inherited the prefect job from Rhiannon. Which she found weird, since she was sure there were probably other students who had been there longer that could deserve the post. But she wasn't going to turn it down. And then Ludo officially got in on the plan. "Cool. We can make it our mission to get the house cup for Ravenclaw this term."

She tilted her head as Ludo brought the caretaker up. "Y'know, I don't actually know who the caretaker is? But I'm more worried about them than I am Bella. Because she really hates being cooped up." She laughed a little at that idea, of her cat somehow figuring out a way out.

She looked at him curiously as he spoke about the queen jabbing his finger. It was times like these when she regretted the fact that she hadn't grown up in a strictly wizarding home. Because she didn't really understand things like this.

She grinned again as he hid his face. "You're welcome," she said, then laughed. "You mean it's less awkward talking to us here, now that I have things to tease you about, than it would have been if we hadn't met before?" She watched as he yawned. "At least try to stay awake for the headmistress' speech." She took another sip of her pumpkin juice.

Ebony's eyes lit up "More muggle books? Excellent!" She pulled some treacle tart towards her, taking a slice and pouring over some custard.

"Which OWLS are you taking?" She hoped she wasn't asking too many questions, but it was nice to have a new friend.

"An art kit?" Celandine frowned momentarily, before connecting the dots, "Oh I could use it for some of our homework assignments! There had been some truly awesome drawing and painting assignments last term, and anything that helped her earn points was a good thing. "Barry you still haven't told me what you want for your birthday."

Celandine stopped messing with her food and took a few mouthfuls of potato, chewing and swallowing thoughtfully for a moment. Treasure.
" Hogwarts is the treasure." Cela reminded Barry.


"I've never done it before." Celandine admitted, smiling at the boy in Slytherin robes. Of course that reminded her of Nico. She peeked over at the Slytherin table; he was frowning at her! She looked down and demurely ate a mouthful of potato- the pirates having less and less island to stand on with each mouthful. She was beginning to see a bright side of her brother being surrounded by girls all the time; it meant he wasn't focussing on her and she could get away with stuff. Right now he was sitting by himself for some reason though.

She turned her attention back to the slytherin boy who was eyeing her potatoes with a level of interest that alarmed her. My potatoes!

"I'm Cela." she introduced herself, subtly shifting her plate of potatoes away from the boy.

Barry said "My birthday? I chose your birthday present by observing so you should try it to and see if you can guess what I want if you don`t figure it out I`ll tell you after the feast. And anyway I`m not sure what I want . Well there are some things but they can`t be bought" said Barry thinking about his mum locked away in the dephs of that horrid cafe that was always full of death eaters. "Just get me something that I`d like. I have to get Nico a present would he like a cleaning kit?" asked Barry remembering how clean Nico was




Barry smiled as Nico frowned at Cela. He also agreed that Cela shoudn`t be playing but come on Nico has been keeping an eye on her for year he whispered "He can`t get you in the commen room"

And then Lucus "Hi Lucus. Cela this is Lucus Theo he`s a first year like you used to be. Lucus this is Cela shes a second year ravenclaw it a bit obvious though"

Raiden, making his rounds of the House Tables to see if he could find any of his friends, had finally made his way to the Ravenclaw Table. He looked around, to see if he could spy anyone he already knew... There was Elizabeth, but she was talking to a bunch of people already. Raiden had already been told that he was rude too many times today. He wouldn't interrupt her conversation and risk adding another mark to that tally. He gave her a little wave and kept moving, looking for anyone else, or anyone that looked friendly enough to want to talk to him, a rude little Slytherin boy. He felt a pang of sadness in his chest at his own thoughts about his courtesy.

Edie smiled and served herself a slice of apple pie.

"Transfiguration, DADA, Charms..erm..can't think of what else," she said, biting her lip.

Cela stared at Barry in consternation; he had a point but she had only ever had to buy presents for her brothers so thinking up present ideas was a new concept to her. She nodded at his comment that some things couldn't be bought; that was true enough.

"A cleaning kit?" Celandine stiffled a giggle, "Oh my, I guess it does seem like that and girls are his only interest. He's really good at cleaning charms though and would probably be offended if you got him something like that!" Nicholai annoyed wasn't a fun thing to be around.

"He isn't easy to buy for; but if you do get him something make sure it is something practical like..." Cela thought for a second, "Quills and parchment."

Cela grinned at Barry through a mouthful of her food.
"You are right; he can't." It was kind of handy being in a different house to her brother.

Celandine shot a odd look at Barry at his introduction.

"You used to be a first year too." she turned to Lucas, "Hi!"

Yay! Another Slytherin! Celandine really did have a thing for the snakes; she found that surprisingly they made the best friends. He looked a little folorn though.

"There's space here if you want to sit with us." she ventured, trying to stay calm and not bouncy, so she wouldn't scare the boy away. Cela scary? Never!

...She hadn't had any sugar today.

Barry saw the boy who he had invited earlier "Raiden you came! How are you better I hope?" he asked the boy and he turned to Cela "Cela this is Raiden hes a first year slythrin and Raiden this is Cela shes a second year in my house" It was strange he was introducing people over it was like doing something again what was it called Daga vo

"Quil he wants a quil? Thats so um ... boring even for a sixth year I`d expected him to want something better maye a book or cloths or a prank item or a...." Barry trailled off.

"I know I was Cela I was just saying that." he muttered. He didn`t continue he didn`t want more looks

Ebony smiled again. "I am so excited about learning wordless magic this term. Have you got a favourite subject?"

Raiden looked up at the sound of a cheery girl's voice and smiled. It was a Ravenclaw girl, of course, about his own age he guessed... And Barry was with her. He gave the boy a little wave and wandered over to them.

"Haaai," he said brightly, trying to push away the worries of before. "I'm better now, how are you, Barry?"

He looked at the girl, and finally managed to get his smile all the way on his face. She seemed very happy to be here. Which reminded him that he was supposed to be happy to be here. He, after all, was at HOGWARTS! The place he'd been looking forward to for the last few months! He giggled and extended a hand to her.

"I'm Raiden Kururugi," he chirped, still feeling the need to introduce himself fully despite Barry's introduction. "Nice to meet you, Cela."

Meredith nodded to confirm it was a nickname for Ravenclaw. "I was hoping to get in Slytherin actually. All people I met in Diagon Alley were Slytherins.. That sounds like a really interesting book. Can I borrow it when you've finished it?" She wasn't really religious, but she was interested in it all the same.

Meredith noticed a Slytherin, seeming about her age, walking to the Slytherin table. She was just wondering if she should talk to him, when he started talking to Barry. She heard him say his name and said "Hi Raiden, I'm Meredith. Are you a first year Slytherin?"

Winter noticed that the girl Maura was talking to waved at her. She decided to introduce herself. Besides what harm could come of it. "Hi, I'm Winter." she said as she extended her hand to shake the girls hand.

Rachel sighed contently as she finished up the last spot of food on her plate. "The food here is great! I certainly will never go hungry here," she thought to herself as she wiped her mouth with a napkin.
Glancing around the table, she noticed that she was one of the only ones sitting alone. Her smile disappeared as she began to feel embarrassed and shy again. She hoped against hope that this year was going to be better than last year. "I don't think I could bear another year like that," she murmured softly to herself.
She finally decided it was safe to look content and began people-watching, one of her most frequent though not favourite passtimes.

Jenn smiled at Mariel as she sat down. "Yay! Your back!" Jenn said happily. Then Jenn tryed some chocolate cake. "Your right! It is good."Jenn said taking another bite.

Jenn yawned again too. She eyed Mariel's watch. 'WOW, It's really past my bedtime!' Jenn thought.

"So, what's your favorite quidditch team?" Jenn asked.

Laylee overheard Maura talking about Belle's school to a first year and she frowned. She instantly joined in the conversation. "You would never want to go there! Im happy for you, that your first year here is at Hogwarts instead of there! Poor Maura." The fourth year Ravenclaw said patting Maura on the head like she was a sad puppy. Then she laughed.

Laylee returned her hug and her squeal. She knew that she had been to this school many times, but she just loved it here. This was maybe the only place, with its magic and wonder, that could help her forget Chandan... she hadnt seen him in over two years. She didnt know if he was here or not. If he was then he definately didnt want to talk to her.
"I knew you would love it!" Laylee said grinning. "I will, I will! Bright and early tomorrow! Enjoy things as they come, like this feast for instance!" Laylee said smiling.

Laylee just made an annoyed sound in the back of her throat as she thought about the tacky flowers. Then she remembered something. "I am so rude! My name is Laylee, fourth year Ravenclaw!" She said, introducing herself to the first year.

Laylee also followed their gaze up to the staff table. There were a few people she didnt recognize. She hoped she would get a good Transfiguration teacher... Laylee stared for a bit longer, and then turned back in her seat to see her fellow Ravenclaws.

Laylee looked down at the table to see a hand extended across it towards her. She followed the hand, up the arm and over the shoulder to see who it belonged to. It was the girl that she had waved to earlier. She just caught her name over the crowd of the peopl around her. "Hello Winter! My name is Laylee!" She said shaking her hand, a smile spread across her face.

Jason walked over and said "Hi Laylee, how are you?" Jason says "Hello- how are you?" to Edie. Last time Edie ignored him but it could not hurt to talk to her onece again.

Toshi walked into the Hall, grinning broadly and walked over to the Ravenclaw House table, which was already very crowded.
He was happy to be back again, although there had been very stern rules last year.
He was also very happy that there were now boys and girls together in one school!
He sat down at the table and looked around at all the delicious looking food.

He put a lot of roast potatoes, pasta, ketchup and peas on his plate, avoiding meat.

He looked around to see some familiar faces and wanted to start a conversation with somebody.

Jenn saw a boy walk in and sit down near by. "Hi! I'm Jennumara Blood, call me Jenn tho." Jenn said happily smiling at the boy. "So, what year are you in?"Jenn asked innocently. She took a bit of her chocolate cake.

" jenn, how is it going?" Jason asked her.

"Hey there Jason." Laylee said smiling at the Gryffindor. "How was your summer holiday?" She asked.

Winter was very happy to see that the girl was friendly. "Hi, Laylee, nice to meet you." she said shaking Laylee's hand. Winter could not believe it. This term was starting out alot different than last term. She now knew the names of three more students. "I love Hogwarts." Winter thought to herself.

"Fun and yours?" Jason asked Laylee. Jason's summer was really a bummer, fighting with his cousin, losing his girlfriend, having a long dream about marriage to his girlfriend that had left him for a supposed year, then come back, get married but only a dream. " How is it going?" Jason asked Winter.

Winter heard her name and shook her head. "Oh, Hi, Jason." she giggled. "I was just sitting her in a daze."

" No problem" Jason told her."Waiting for the HeadMistrees speech? Jason asked Winter.
