Natka walked over to her table, feeling lost. The two friends she had made on the journey to Hogwarts had both been sorted into Gryffindor, and here she was, all alone again.

Not that she was in any way unhappy with the choice the Sorting Hat made for her - Ravenclaw sounded absolutely fabulous, but...

Why couldn't I have been sorted with someone I actually know? she thought sadly.

Sitting down timidly at the end of the long table, the overfilled platters of food quickly scattered her thoughts of self-pity as they drew her attention.

Her stomach rumbled.

Jenn yawned. "Charms sound like fun. I really can't wait till Care of Magical Creatures, and Transfiguration. Flying will be fun." Jenn said taking another roll. "I hope we'll be in the same class! That would be horrible if we don't!" Jenn said sadly. "So this is kinda random, but what do you think of that Dominic kid?" Jenn said.

It was nice to know someone who was excited about Quidditch as she was. Others she had met either could care less about the sport or didn't really know what it was, an idea inconceivable to Mariel. Still she'd miss playing it with her sisters at home and no chance of playing while she was in school... Then Mariel had an idea. She leaned close to Jenn and spoke in a low voice. "Since we can't play this year, do you think we could borrow a couple brooms from the school and just play for fun, during our free time I mean?"

Mariel listened vaguely, trying to stay awake, as Jenn listed the classes she was eager to try. Care of Magical Creatures. Mariel hadn't given that one much thought. Could it be useful? Mariel wasn't sure but thought she could check it out. If it proved to be dull or unnecessary Mariel figured she could drop it later. Then she asked her about Dominic.

Mariel frowned slightly. What did she think about Dominic? She hadn't given him any thought since they were on the train. She thought he had been mildly interesting until he proclaimed himself as a book hater. That, Mariel could not comprehend. Of course his explanation was almost amusing. Still, Mariel hated gossip and did not want to indulge in it. Shrugging, she looked back up at Jenn. "Oh, I don't know... He made the train ride somewhat interesting, I guess." She looked around at the faces at their table. "I don't see him here, so I'd assume he didn't get sorted into Ravenclaw."

Meredith ate some chicken and looked at the other Ravenclaws. She noticed a girl sitting rather lonely at the end of the table. "Hi, I'm Meredith, a first year. Are you a new student too?" she asked.

Raine looked up and down the length of the Ravenclaw table for a seat. Spotting Livvy, she walked over, hoping there was an empty seat near her. Reaching her, she asked "Can I sit here?"

"I wanted to be in Slytherin, but I guess I'm supposed to be in Ravenclaw, I mean the sorting hat said so.. Nobody of my family has been here, I'm a Muggleborn. What about you? " she asked Natka.

Lillianna walked over to a pair of first years named Merideth and Natasha. "Hello my name is Lillianna. I noticed you two were first years and I decided to say hello."

Perhaps it was silly, but after having spent an entire school year stuck with annoying girls and their crazy hormones, Willow definitely didn't want to go back to Belle's. Or any place that she could potentially end up stuck with only females, for that matter.

Of another thing Willow was sure, though; she was not entirely fond of the male population, either. Needless to say, the moment her forest green eyes spotted the amount of males sitting on the Ravenclaw table, an automatic sigh escaped from her.

Well--at least boys' natural odd behaviour and occasional strange smell balanced all the drama that girls produced half of the time. At least that's how it had been before, and Willow dearly hoped it had not changed, for the fourth year very much doubted that she would be able to keep sane if things were any different that they had been. Of course that if she ended up losing her mind due to all the drama, she would definitely drag someone else to insanity with her, as well. No way she was going down alone.

But, why was she thinking this? The term had roughly started, after all.

Brushing her bangs out of her face with one swift movement, the girl took seat not very close to the males, but not exactly far away either, before grabbing a plate, and help herself with some food. She was pretty hungry, now she thought about it.

Where were her friends, though? Sabrina, Saylie, Issy, Eleanor.. Well, Eleanor was most likely in the Slytherin Table by now, and the other three Willow had lost through the sea of people once they had arrived to school.

Celebration! Tre bien! Hogwarts. Sweet, sweet Hogwarts! Lola Demesne floated into the Great Hall, uplifted by the Hogwartsy atmosphere of embarrassingly corny good feeling and the mystique. That je ne sais quoi that made her want to don a beret and snap her fingers the halos of those Muggle contraptions...oh what were they...smoke machines! A little smile lifted the corners of Lola's mouth as she swooped from place to place, glittering with greetings, dark glares, and the like. "Hello, lovelies!" she chirped cheerfully, coquettishly twirling on her heel and bouncing through the aisle, catwalk style. She was back in her formal regalia. No longer would she condemn the Great Hall to mediocrity. Eyes meeting the ceiling with a pungent feeling of change, Lola launched into a solemn whisper, "Hogwarts, darling Hogwarts. I waited and counted the days in that Merlin-forsaken school. Finally." Her little hand floated to her chest, curls floating over her face as she inhaled the moment, ingested the distinct aroma.
It smelled meaty.
Lola's little nose wrinkled daintily and she straightened, shadowing the Slytherins at first. Moments later, she back in the center of the tables. She sighed, plaintively. The centerpoint of uncertainty. Where is that one vegetarian dish? Fritters, as much as I love Hogwarts, I do wish they'd cater to a more eco-friendly group. Swaying for several moments, indecisive with her course, Lola waited. For what was uncertain. Perhaps, now that the boys were back, she expected chivalry. Some dashing young lad would sweep over and demand in outrage why that pout was on her cupid's bow.
"I'm not Cinderella," she scoffed, artfully creating her own drama. Lola lauched into a bossy walk, the Ravenclaw table reflecting in her coffee stain eyes. "Excuse me, are you finished with that vegetable stew? I swear, the Slytherins wouldn't bother to consider saving the planet---even when we are green?" she lamented to a nearby girl who was closest to the delectable dish.
Neither did the number of males at the table go unnoticed. The smell of that delectable lawn party cologne wafted around Lola's nostrils, creating an almost swoon.
Her legs twitched discreetely, mind itching for the girl's response.

Oh, more people. All those Ravenclaws seem so nice! She smiled. "Hi Lillianna! I'm Meredith. One of my middle names is Lillian." She smiled again, because of this coincidence. "How are you?" Meredith asked.

Meredith didn't know there were children younger than 11 living in the school. "Is she a teacher here?" she wondered aloud. It must be great to already know your way around in your first year..Hogwarts is huge she was sure to get lost.

"No...honestly she is dead. She was a muggle. Killed by another muggle because of me. I found my way to Hogwarts because of my old friend who was a wizard. He was killed too. He was a seventh year.", Lillianna explained.

Her legs twitched discreetely, mind itching for the girl's response.

Forest green eyes wandered all around the Ravenclaw table. The place was starting to fill up rather quickly, and to Willow's dismay, even more males kept arriving. Spectacular, sarcastically the girl thought. Delicately, the fourteen year old shuddered once her eyes noticed how proper --please note the sarcasm-- the table manners of most of the people on the table were. Well, how charming. Not. The looked like beasts rather than human teenagers. Then again, weren't teenagers animal-like sometimes? Definitely. Males, especially. And the girls with all their pointless drama, too, of course.

Absentmindedly, her pale and slender hand reached for one the goblet, and poured pumpkin juice on it with one swift movement. Snaking her fingers and hand around it, the girl raised it for it to meet with her mouth, when someone interrupted her.

Dark brows pulled together automatically at this --something she'd picked up from her father, whenever someone interrupted his meals. People did not interrupted Willow while eating. Unless it was a friend, of course, and the girl was sure that whoever had interrupted her was not a friend, for the voice did not sound familiar. Smoothing her expression before putting down the goblet, looked up the girl, and found a very unfamiliar pair of coffee eyes staring down at her. Certainly, this person--girl, was not someone she knew, let alone a friend.

Tilting her head to the side, Willow allowed one of her eyebrows to raised delicately at the unknown girl rant about saving the planet. If Sltytherins did not care about the planet it wasn't her problem, of course. And to be perfectly honest, this did not surprise; the girl had met quite a few Slytherins that the only thing that seemed to matter to them were themselves.

"Well, that's a shame," answered Willow simply. "Saving the world is everyone's duty, and it is a shame that your fellow Slytherins don't care about it." Finished the girl with a light shrug. A little hypocrite, Willow was being, because very rarely the issue of saving the planet crossed her mind. But there was no need for this stranger to know that. "And not, I'm afraid I'm not done with this."

Winter entered into the Great Hall with an enormous smile on her face. She was extemely happy to see that Hogwarts was back! Maybe this term she would get to experience the Hogwarts her Mom did. The food smelled delicious and she could not wait to taste it. Winter walked over to her house table, which is Ravenclaw, and took a seat. She saw alot of new faces. Winter spoke to everyone at the table. "Hello everyone."

She wondered out loud, "Do you think we'd be allowed to use the school broomsticks without having the teachers about?" She threw the question to everyone around the table, maybe one of them would know the answer. "Since we are firsties and all..."

She looked around the table, hoping someone might speak up about the subject. She eventually looked back to Mariel and whispered, "What do you think? Nobody seems to know. Maybe its not allowed for first years..." she took a quick look behind her shoulder before adding, "Unless we borrow them when no one is watching?" She impishly smiled at her idea, trying to prod Mariel along.

Katelyn sat down at her house table, not really recognizing anyone. She glanced over at the Slytherin table, looking for Dan...

He didnt seem to be there yet. Gurrr.

She looked at the table in front of her, and smiled to herself. She was fine with just..talking to herself. Of course, company was always welcome, but if not, she was pretty content.

She glanced around her table again, and sighed.

She looked over as she saw her cousin talking to someone. She had missed him at first as she must of been talking to the other ravenclaw girl. " Hey Ludo." she said to him with a smile. "oo chess. did you win?" she was rather found of the game. She wasn't exactly good at it, but she would always play with her father. It was important to win. Which brought up something she had been meaning to ask liz."Sorry i didnt catch up with you two on the train. I was a bit busy myself."

"Really? Am i suppose to be hating someone because im wearing Green?" she was new at this whole house thing. She doubt she could hate another house just because they wore a different color. Let alone the people in red. It was her favorite color. "Oh i had a question for you. Your good with school work right? I was thinking we should have a friendly competition. For points. Who ever gets the highest points out of us wins. Sound good? maybe we should add wagers?"

she wondered a little why every time she said she was related to Elizabeth she had to make sure everyone knew it was only by marriage. She was begining to wonder if she was contagious or something. " something like that." she added as she gave them a smile.

Elizabeth nodded. "Yeah, Bella is short for Grizabella." Then she trailed off as it seemed Asteira had chosen to go past that as a subject. Smiling a bit, she went on. "You could look at it that way. But it also meant I couldn't just sit and enjoy the ride."

She waited as Asteira finally noticed Ludo, then turned back to her as she apologized. "It's okay. I don't know that we would have gotten a lot of time to talk or anything anyway." She shrugged as chess came up. She had never really gotten into chess. But maybe that was because she had never known anyone who had played it before.

As she was asked if it was the green, she laughed. "Yes and no. It identifies you as a member of Slytherin, but doesn't mean anything, really. It's just, some Slytherins get really into their superiority thing, and it reflects badly on others." She presonally had never developed the need to separate people by houses. And then she looked back at Asteira, surprised. "A competition? For points?" She shook her head. "No, I don't think there should be wagers."

She flushed a bit as she could tell her cousin was getting frustrated by her specifying their relationship. "I'm sorry," was all she could get out. She didn't really know why she did it.

She looked around the hall once as the noise of students seemed to intensify and then she looked back as Elizabeth introduced another person to her. She smiled and gave a little wave, waggling her fingers at the boy whom was called Ludo. " Nice to meet you," She said, thinking it wasn't a bad idea to meet more of the male population here. That was always necessary, she thought with a little smile." This is true, now I've got a few familiar faces in a new place. Always good, no?" She said.

She smiled as Mari spoke again, distracting her from her embarrassment. "I guess you will. And yes, it is nice. At least, I know I have someone on my side." Then she waited as Mari spoke to Ludo, but had to interject at the last minute. "Yes, it is always good to have people you know when you're new. I could have used that last term."
