As she looked around, she noticed another girl a few years older than herself smiling at her, so Mariel smiled back. She did look a bit older so Mariel was a little too intimidated to say anything just yet.
"You're welcome," Natka smiled at her, and took another bite of chocolate herself.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Scarlett Lillian Travers Fifth Year | Joseypussycat Unicorn Magic Rawr-er Gem's eyes were slightly unfocused as her eyes darted left, right, up, down, inspecting him for any potential serious injury or boo boo. She saw none, and pale petal lips pursed in a smile, glad that though she had blundered, no one was hurt. She hated causing harm to others, absolutely detested it, and yet, everyone ended up with a mark of some sort for her clumsiness. Like last year, Henry the shoe had flown across the carriage and smacked Vannie in her forehead, dead center. Or even the other day, in The Street, with Keith. However, without her absent mindedness, the Ravnclaw wouldn't truly get to experience herself, the realistic daydreams of singing tea kettles and off beat thoughts of dancing spoons. She disliked her clutziness, but loved thinking. Somehow, Gemma couldn't be both reflective and graceful simultaneously. She beamed up at him, little head craned to look at Jean Raoul, and had the sudden impression of standing under a great, tall beech. He seemed to move in the wind, she could even imagine little birds and squirrels roaming in his arms, triggering a happy giggle. As he sat down she scooched over to make room, holding the pouch that cradled her duck egg carefully as not to jostle it. "Comfy, Eggie?" She cooed before returning her attention to her neighbor. "Jean Raoul Devereux," she repeated, high pitched, breathy and British voice altering the name slightly. "I'm Gem! Gem Jewels! Like Gemma or like a gem... Amethyst, emerald, opal... Opal! What a charming name. I'd love to name someone Opal. I have a pen named Crystal but Opal..." the Sixth Year babbled.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Sabrina Dumbledore Fourth Year | "Calico's my kitten, she's adorable!" Sabrina said happily. "My best friend Magesta gave it to me, before she moved to Beauxbatons." That was still a sore point, but she had been able to visit when she was in Europe during the summer. She shrugged her shoulders and smiled. "I don't mind you asking. Hogwarts RPG Name: Claira Anima Second Year |
Claira was bored. It wasn't something very uncommon for her but it usually didn't last too long. Here, she was finding it rather difficult to find entertainment in Hogwarts so she decided to head on down to the table next to her's to chat with the Ravenclaws. She would be popping around each table if she could, just to check out what the majority was like. Though, her mother had warned her to stay away from Ravenclaws because they would just make her look very dim, she ignored her mother since Mrs. Anima never did make such sense when she spoke.
Stopping before the Ravenclaw Table, she gazed across at a certain girl with very long blonde and black hair and very odd coloured eyes (Gem Jewels). Though, she couldn't say much about the colours of people's eyes since her's weren't too normal either... that's why she wore contacts to cover them! The girl was discussing a name of a pen called Crystal and a name... Opal. Odd girl. Wriggling her nose in curiosity, she decided to go talk to this girl just to see what the girl was like. First impressions were usually wrong but maybe this one wasn't. If it wasn't, then the conversation could be VERY entertaining.
Strolling over to where the girl was, Claira decided to take Freya's advice and butt into the conversation. "Opal would be a rather nice name for someone, wouldn't it?" she said, her holding a slight ring of sarcasm but also of friendliness.

Well, other than Lindsey who practically forced him to call her by his first name. This goes for Francesca as well. Nikolai's past girlfriend. Merlin's that girl was a fright! He remembered her threatening him for calling her Miss Clairmonte.
Placing Miss Roscoe's hand onto his arm, he took a view more steps and disappeared from the Gryffindor Table's sight, heading towards the Ravenclaw Table. Little Melly was too caught up in him to actually notice that she was walking to the Ravenclaw table. But who could blame her? It wasn't as if one of her dreams wasn't coming true, because it was. She had just met a prince and now she was actually walking next to him, talking to him and... Ah, if only she was fifteen or sixteen... But she wasn't. And that meant that there was no possibility for her to have found her own prince charming, for a girl only found love after the age of fifteen. Or at least that was how it worked in fairytales and that was how it was going to work for her. Oh yes it was.
Blushing slightly harder at prince Kingston's smile, Melina retributed a small smile. "Still, it feels strange not to be called Melina or Melly," She admitted shyly. True, it would be weird to hear a prince calling her by her first name for she didn't even know him that well but still...

Once they made it there, Kingston chuckled as she admitted that it was odd being called a Miss. He had that comment once before, but as always, Kingston ignored it. It didn't take long for Mel to start chuckling, her colour slowly returning to its normal pale shade. Why, prince Kingston had a fairly nice humour too! That was always good, very good indeed. Yes, there was no doubt at all that he already had found his princess or if he hadn't then he was about to. Melly would see to that. He was far too wonderful to stay single for much longer and, being the prince he was, it was better for him to find his princess rather than having his parents forcing one on him, right? No need for another story of unhappiness.
"But I'd still prefer if you'd call me by my first name, sir," She told him. "Miss Roscoe sounds... I don't know... Strange and too formal," She nodded before realizing what she had just said. Oh dear, too formal? He had to be formal! He was royalty for goodness sake! "Oh, I mean, if it must be like that, then I understand, of course, but I'd really rather if you didn't call me that," She blurted out quickly, the red colour coming back to her face yet again.
Great. She had just insulted a prince. That was just great.

Half finished incantations filled the air as a sharp piece of ancient ore came tumbling between the tables. The cool and calculating prince of a hidden nation was filled with panic as if he lost his sanity along with his bauble.
Arm outstretched, mended wand in hand, when a spell was finally released, his panic landed a chicken bone in his free palm.

Great. She had just insulted a prince. That was just great. Kingston stared at Melina for a few moments as if she had three heads, but then he soon burst into laughter. Why this child was exquisite! She thought that by calling her by her last name seemed too formal! Why it was how things were done properly in his community. He would understand why the girl wasn't used to hear herself being called by her last name. It was after all normal to him and Miss Hopton.
"Do stop, my dear." Kingston wheezed, wipping a tear away with his finger. "Oh my, that was quite a funny thing Mis--I mean Melina. I do understand that by calling you by your last name bothers you so. After all, I do hate being called King or Kingsy as my girlfriend seems to insist," he grumbled the last few words. "Although, I will make sure that in the future I shall call you by your given name. "

she leaned over to see him better again when she gave him a small nod." She really does. Dont let her fool you." she teased as she moved to take a drink of her pumpkin juice." Just watch her during transfiguration class. I have your back so don't worry to much." she assured ludo as if anyone going to get to turn anyone into anything it was going to be her." "My older sister, Kit, never drank anything in front of me because she thought I was odd for enjoying potions." he said, as Liz took a sip of her juice.
Liz then became upset when the conversation went back to Chess. "Oh, Wizard's Chess is exactly like Muggle Chess except the pieces attack one another...hard. I'll show you some other time."
Asteira and Liz then spoke of transfiguring someone. "Well...I will try my best not to get on either of your bad sides."
He took a bite of a Cauldron Cake and looked up at the Staff Table for the Headmisstress. Elizabeth's eyes went back and forth as both Asteira and Ludo offered to help her learn how to play chess. "Um, thanks. I guess." Then she felt like explaining. "No one in my immediate family ever was interested in things like chess, Wizarding or otherwise. And it's not like I could figure it out by myself." She smiled. Then went back momentarily to teasing Asteira about the competition. "What does astronomy have to do with dreams? If you go around saying things like that, I'm not gonna be worried about us winning. And yes, I think I will stick to my charms."
Looking back at Ludo, she laughed as he expressed surprise at her saying she liked History of Magic. "It's a lot of reading. And I like that. And I retain weird facts. It's just one of those strange things I can do." She looked down at her glass as he joked about his sister and potions. "You better not try to slip me anything," she said, with another smile. She figured he hadn't had any time to slip anything in just now, so wasn't going to worry too much.
She broke into giggles as Asteira said she'd protect Ludo during transfiguration. "Oh yeah. She has your back alright. Then she'll probably transfigure you herself, while you think you're safe." She grinned at her cousin. "You are a Slytherin, you know. So maybe we shouldn't think about trusting you. But then, I knew you before you were one, so I guess I'll risk it." Quote:

Mari had always had a bit of trouble making good friends with other girls; Back home, she only had two close friends who were girls. She always seemed to get along easier with boys, as if her own gender was too mysterious even for her. However, so far Elizabeth seemed to be very easy to get along with, and there wasn't the usual discomfort in the conversation.
When Elizabeth mentioned History of Magic, Mari wrinkled her nose and laughed a little. " I'm terrible at that. I can never keep the dates in place or who did what when," She shook her bangs out of her eyes as she spoke. " So, needless to say it takes a lot of studying for me to even pass the class at all." She said. Surprises seemed to be commonplace for Mariska now. First there was the train ride, and now she was actually enjoying herself again. She supposed it would be surprising when she had set out to be as miserable as possible, but now she wasn't so sure that was even a feat she could manage. She watched with an amused expression as Elizabeth and Asteira began a little bit of good-spirited arguing and competition, and she thought that she might just want to stay here for the rest of her schooling. She turned as Mari spoke about classes. "As a matter of fact, everyone usually has class together. So yeah. We should end up in Charms class together." She smiled back at her. "And I wouldn't worry too much about History of Magic. Professor Lainey, if she's back this term, is cool. She teaches us fun stuff. Not so much focus on dates and everything."
Then she turned along with the rest of them to look at the staff table to await the speech.

But then, I knew you before you were one, so I guess I'll risk it." She turned as Mari spoke about classes.
Mariska watched the three students as they talked with one another and she made a small plan. " I'll look forward to it then." She smiled. " So," She looked at all three students, her plan fully forming as she spoke. " I was thinking that we're all strong in different areas of our education...perhaps we'd do well to study together every so often. It's just a suggestion." She said, smiling a bit more now. It made perfect sense, and besides it was always good to have someone to fall back on if one slipped up every so often, and it wasn't like she wouldn't return the favor to them either. She was setting up her network now, building a base from which to branch out to the other students. " I mean, I prefer working with a team anyhow." She said after a slight pause.

Mariel said dreamily. "Right now, I'm into the Holyhead Harpies, but I'm fickle. My favorite changes every season... What about you? Who do you like?" she asked Jenn who was still yawning. "Try some of that chocolate." Mariel gestured to the sweets slightly down the table from where they were sitting. She grinned and nodded at Jenn as she noticed her looking somewhat more awakened after eating her chocolate.
Mariel looked up as she noticed a girl not much older than her dressed in red trimmed robes come over to their table. Must be a Gryffindor. Mariel's thoughts were confirmed when the girl announced herself as such and introduced herself to the whole table. Mariel gave her a sleepy smile. Uh oh, getting drowsy again. Need another caffeine-laced piece of chocolate...

Mariska was going to make a coy comment about this librarian she was supposed to like when a young girl came up to the group. She regarded the younger girl politely nodding and giving a small smile as she introduced herself. " It's nice to meet you, Hannah." She said, casually propping her chin up on her hand. Quote:

"Nice to meet you all, too." Hannah smiled. "Well, I'd better get back, but I hope to see you all around sometime!" She felt like she was interrupting a bit, so she decided to make a graceful exit, but she did sincerely hope to see all of them in class or something.

Qualities not very common in most cranky, old librarians."
The library was Ludo's favorite place to get away to.
He finished a rather large helping of mashed potatoes and sat back from the table. "Ok...too much good food...I should stop."

Mariska didn't get quite the desired effect she had wanted, but she thought it was a little funny to see him stumble a bit. " This is true," She said with a tilt of her head." I've actually met quite a few young librarians, back home that is." She said honestly. " But, you're right. Most of them seem to be old and rather cantankerous." She admitted. She smiled and then took another drink of her pumpkin juice. Quote:

Nice to meet you hannah." she said smiling at the girl. Elizabeth nodded as Mari suggested they start a study group, and was pleased when both Ludo and Asteira seemed to agree. "Sounds like a plan. And if we work as a team, we can motivate each other to do the work. Especially in the subjects we don't necessarily like."
Then Ludo told her not to worry about how she hadn't been up on her chess knowledge. "Oh, I know. I'm not laying blame. I just felt out of the loop a bit. That's all. And if you guys help me out, I won't have to worry, will I?" She smiled at him, and then he started joining in with the teasing. Flashing her own grin, she said, "Deal. I won't transfigure you, and you won't sneak any potions into my food or drink."
Before addressing her thoughts on the librarian situation to the group, she turned as Ludo introduced them all to a young Gryffindor who had come up to the table. "Hi, Hannah. I'm Elizabeth Andrews. It is nice to meet you," she said with a smile. Then Hannah went off on her way, and she turned back to the group. Tilting her head, she spoke again. "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you look back at the staff table, you'd notice that this Mr. Ingles isn't there, but I do see Madam Kohan, who was the other librarian. The librarian at Belle's, that is." She paused, then continued. "As far as I can tell, though, she's pretty cool too. So I think we're okay."
Then she grinned at Asteira. "I'm not that cruel. And I'm certainly not showing any bias against any of the houses. Every Slytherin I've met so far has been perfectly nice. Although I have to say it would have been slightly entertaining if you had ended up transfiguring the shopkeeper at Ollivander's into something." She took another drink of her pumpkin juice to keep herself from giggling.
