As was the trend with feasts, lots of things were happening all at once, someone new sat with the knot of friends at the table, James, Tobi thought his name was, Sho dove into the bread, and Valentine got a bit irked at Cale.

With his mouth full of delicious roast beef, Tobi nodded and waved at the newcomer. Then he swallowed and turned to Valentine, who was one seat off from him, so it worked out. "You know Valentine, Dandelion Greens are quite delicious in salads, the root is great as a coffee substitute, and i think you can make wine from the flowers, so all in all, even though they're technically a weed, dandelions are still pretty awesome, even though they're in bountiful supply. I mean, girls are in bountiful supply too, the world's population is 54% women."

Cale filled Tobi's goblet which was just brilliant of him, "Thanks Cale, you're not so bad yourself, by the way. Oh, and Sho, if you could pass me a piece of bread that would be Aces."

"I don't really know. Whatever catches my interest at that moment. I am kind of the person who tends to be all over the place." Valentine gave a nod before stuffing her mouth with meat once again. "Do you read comic books?"

"Well I assure you Cale there is quite a bit more to me." Valentine gave a soft chuckle as she filled her plate with mashed potatoes, gravy, and a corn on the cob. "Oh yumm." She said as she mashed her potatoes and gravy togehter.

"Well I guess so. I never really thought of it that way." Valentine nodded at Tobi's great knowledge of dandelions. Why did he know so much about them anyway? Valentine just shrugged it off. "I just hope I am as tasty as a dandelion." She added before taking a bite of her corn.

"Well, not the British or American ones," James said with a sly smile on his face. "I read what most people refer to as Japanese comics" he said to Valentine.

James, who had just taken a large swig of pumpkin juice, nearly gagged when Cale chuckled. He swallowed his juice and coughed a couple times before looking up at Cale, his eyes watering slightly.
"Yet what?" he asked tentatively.

Sho blinked at the newly crafted sandwich and shrugged, chuckling. The kid was sharp. He just wiggled his finger at Cale and smiled, finishing the slice he had torn off of the loaf.

"You sure know how to eat, Cale," he said to the prefect before making a sandwich of his own.

He was going to stay out of the girl talk...

Laylee practically ran to the Ravenclaw table in excitement, to wait for the sorting to start. She had lost Maura somewhere in the crowd, but knew they would find each other soon.
Laylee took a seat by herself looking overly happy. She was definately ready for a new year at her old school!

Elizabeth made her way into the Great Hall for the feast, slightly exhausted. It had taken her most of the train ride to catch Bella, and then fight to get her in her basket. But now the basket, making vaguely threatening noises, was out of her hands and on its way to her dormitory. And she could eat in peace.

Heading toward the Ravenclaw table, she scanned the other tables. It didn't look like Asteira was there yet, at any of the tables, so she found a seat at her own, figuring she'd wait for her cousin to arrive, or anyone else to talk to her.

"Manga you mean?" Valentine took another bite of the corn on the cob. Oh was this amazing. It had been years since she had food this good. This, this was better than what her grandmother use to make. But than again her grandmother was never too good with corn. "I read some on occasion. Whenever it catches my interest." Valentine put the finished cob down on her plate. "Usually muggle manga. I really haven't found wizard ones yet."

James dropped the corn he had just picked up.
"You read mangas too?" he asked, astounded. "I haven't met anyone in the wizarding world who reads them!" He nearly fell out of his bench with excitement. "I haven't found any wizard ones either," he said. He picked up his slightly bitten corn and began gnawing on it. His mother never made corn at home because both her and James' dad were allergic.

Valentine chuckled a bit as the boy seemed amazed by that fact. "When I get my hands on some interesting ones. I lean more towards comics than manga though. But I love both. Art and literature- what is there not to love!?" Valentine let a soft giggled escape her mouth. "I am sure if you look around wizarding communities in Japan you would find some. It is just a matter of looking really.'

Walking slowly inside the Great Hall, Melinda found a seat, she sighed and smiled wide. Finally, back in Hogwarts. While she decided what to have for a feast, she wondered if Chris was at the Gryffindor table.

After coming in from the carriages, Liz walks into the Great Hall. Excited to be back, from the summer holidays. Liz walks over to the Ravenclaw table.

Seeing Rian, Liz heads straight over to her and sits down next to her. "Hey, Rian! I finally met on the train here. I discovered he was the one who paid for my ice cream at Florean Forteque in Diagon Alley last month too!"

Tobi caught Valentine looking at him kind of funny. He swallowed his roast beef and shrugged. "My parents own this Hotel up in Glastonbury, and my mother cooks for it, she's a Muggle, went to chef's school and all, she knows all about how you can use weird plants in special ways and make really good food."

"Actually," James said while piling mashed potatoes and gravy on his plate, "I just got back from Japan. I skipped last term and ventured in Kyoto." he smiled and stuffed his mouth with very very hot mashed potatoes. Eyes watering, he swallowed so he could finish his thought. "I bet you're right though, I was in the more rural parts of Japan."

Sho turned to Val and James. So what if he was eavesdropping? He wanted in on this conversation and he was going to wiggle his way in.

"Manga? You two? Really? Huh... I've grown too used to Eddy and his Wizarding comics and Kelly's hand drawn ones that I've not really been able to talk manga recently," he said to them.

For someone who sure made a fuss when Cale made him help out in the greenhouse or work on there herbology homework, Tobi suddenly was the blossoming botanist. "Since when did you know so much about plants?" he asked blatantly.
I'm sure I could name one person who'd like to find out if you are, Cale thought quietly as he finished off his roasted beefed sandwich. He licked a finger off. "Well, don't expect me to try you out. I'm more of a daffodil and tulip guy."
"Yet the Yetting Yeti." He responded with a straight face. James looked confused by his response (as did Sho). "I just met her last week is all."
"Well, you know what I want to try next?" he asked turning away from James back to Sho. "Those chicken legs...pass the plate over would you mate? Oh - and the corn muffins."

Asteira headed into the great hall as she looked around at all the tables. she felt the need to shield here eyes at the bright yellow table. she looked around for the ravenclaw table as she spotted her cousin. She was sitting alone as it seemed she was arriving at the perfect time. She trolled over to the table as she stood behind elizabeth. "Hey. I heard you were running around looking for the grizzly bear with the whiskers." she teased as she looked at the seating.she was sitting next to a girl that looked the same age or maybe younger. Or older. She wasnt really good with ages...or names really.

Well--at least boys' natural odd behaviour and occasional strange smell balanced all the drama that girls produced half of the time. At least that's how it had been before, and Willow dearly hoped it had not changed, for the fourth year very much doubted that she would be able to keep sane if things were any different that they had been. Of course that if she ended up losing her mind due to all the drama, she would definitely drag someone else to insanity with her, as well. No way she was going down alone.

But, why was she thinking this? The term had roughly started, after all.

Brushing her bangs out of her face with one swift movement, the girl took seat not very close to the males, but not exactly far away either, before grabbing a plate, and help herself with some food. She was pretty hungry, now she thought about it.

Where were her friends, though? Sabrina, Saylie, Issy, Eleanor.. Well, Eleanor was most likely in the Slytherin Table by now, and the other three Willow had lost through the sea of people once they had arrived to school.

Asteira smiled at the girl as she pointed to the seat next to her." Hi. Is this taken?" she asked as introduce herself. She was wearing green, but she still assumed it was okay for her to sit with the blue people. she adjusted her red silk scarf around her neck as she introduced herself. She had to meet other people sometime." Asteira blood." she told her as she held out her hand out.

"Oh well, that does explain it." Valentine nodded and smiled- not really wanting to admit why he was so knowledgeable on this topic. But hey, now she knew. "So she just passed the knowledge down to you? I wish I had a mother who could do something like that." She found herself saying as she played with her potatoes.

"Oh that would be amazing!" Valentine said excitingly. "I've never really traveled anywhere myself. I was born in Cuba, but I didn't do much traveling. I stay on our land most of the time. Then we moved here. So really I've only been two places before. I would love to travel though." Valentine smiled and nodded as she kept playing with her potatoes.

"You like manga too!?" Valentine could just feel her inner geek explode. At least she found some people with common interests. People that she had met so far were so nice. She felt a bit of the odd ball though- being the only girl. Then again she found herself hanging out with guys most of the time. "Where is Ed anyways?" She asked looking down farther the table.

"I like Lilies, or roses. Actually... I am much more of an animal person." Valentine nodded.

James laughed once again by Cale's response. He had to be the most obnoxious yet funny guy he'd ever met, besides himself.
"But that's the best part," he said to Cale. "You can make up stuff about her and anyone'd believe you." he laughed again.

"Oh, I know you'd love it there," he said excitedly to Valentine. "The culture there is so...." he hesitated. "Actually, it really depends on where you go." he finished his mashed potatoes and took another swig of pumpkin juice.

Mariska looked over to her right as she reached for some chicken and she noted a new girl, a pretty blonde. She decided that she was going to have to talk to someone or she would go crazy, so she made an attempt at small talk. " This food, is it always this good? My father told me it would be like this, but I have to say I'm surprised." She said, a half-smile on her face as she spoke.

Jenn was so excited! She had been sorted into Ravenclaw! Now that Jenn wasn't so nervous she looked around. The Great Hall was HUGE! Jenn scans the Ravenclaw table and sees three of her friends. She walks over and lucky for her, they were all near by. "Hi Mariel, Livvy, and Rian. How are you doing?" Jenn says sitting by Mariel. Jenn looks down the table and gets herself some mashpotatoes, turkey, garlic bread and some juice. Jenn looks and Mariel. "Thoose chocolate frogs must of not worked." Jenn said teasenly. "Cause your eating your food like it's your last meal!" Jenn said giggling.

Valentine put on a face shocked look on her face- as though she was really hurt. "Now you all better not go running about telling everyone a bunch of made up facts about me. And if you must please, please, do not say I suck blood. I had enough of that going on at home." She remembered all the children on her block running to their parents- saying that vampires could now go out during the day. Children were so cruel and annoying.

"Yes well I want to go one day." She said snapping out of her mind and back into reality. "Their culture is kind of everywhere. I love it. I'd be a dream come true to go there one day. I just cannot wait until I am free to do whatever I want."

"Are you insane?" Tobi exclaimed with more than a little incredulity in his voice. "When was the last time you saw a dandelion, or any other edible leafy green the green house - it's rather poorly named, come to that - nope, no - sorry, it's not like they're growing turnips and potatoes in there. All that lives in those houses of horror are dangerous organisisms waiting to have us for breakfast. I commend you on your bravery though, Cale, maybe you should be in Gryffindor and I was meant to stay with the nice safe books? Oh, and would you pass me some of that chicken, please?"

Rian smiled as she heard Liz and saw her sit down next to her. "Hey Liz, how's it going?" she asked cheerfully, eyeing an especially tasty looking plate of food. "You met who?" she asked, finally deciding to start filling her own plate.

Rian looked around to her other side at the sound of her new friend. "Hi Jenn, how do you like Hogwarts?" she asked jas she filled her glass with pumpkin juice.

James laughed.
"Don't worry, I'm not one to spread false rumors." he said truthfully. "Do you, by any chance, speak any Japanese?" he asked Valentine.

Patricia lowered her gaze to a boy that seated across the table from her, she blinked once wondering if she had just imagined it or something. Nope, he was starring at her, giving a small wave of his hand and rather nice smile.

Almost forgetting to answer, she erupted "Hi!" she nearly yelled, not used to the high din of noise that was here. "Sorry about yelling like that... my name is Patricia." she smiled back at him.
