So many potions and those with inverse effects had similar ingredients and it all just depended in the way they were used? Willow blinked a couple of times. Huh. That was interesting. Not. It wasn't like she was planning to become a potions master in the future, so she really didn't care.

Taking a deep breath, the fourth year grabbed her cauldron with a little effort, before placing it carefully in front of her. Flickering her eyes to the board, the girl stared at the ingredients for a couple of seconds, before both of her eyebrows started to pulled together slowly.

Essence of Violet? the frown dissapeared, and one eyebrow cocked at this. That sounded like something someone would add to a love potion. Huh. What did she know? It wasn't like she was an expert, or anything. But then, if this professor had the ability to get lost all the time, how did Willow know he hadn't confused the ingredients of an Anti-Love potion with the ones of a Love one? Huh. She shot one quick glance at the man.

Well, if that was the case, there was nothing she could do about it. Actually, there was--but that could only happen after the potion was done.

Anti-Love Potion... Honestly. She didn't need that. She was not in love and thanks Merlin for that.

Mari felt a flutter of nervousness move through her as they were left to begin brewing up the Delusting potion. She jotted down the ingredients quickly, keeping her parchment nearby for quick references. She could only hope that she didn't plaster anything to the ceiling. She glanced around the room at other people who were already beginning their potions and she by chance happened to gaze upon a boy who looked familiar. He wore Hufflepuff robes, so she figured she had just seen him around quite bit. He was already making an unpleasant face; She assumed he was just as put off by potion making as she was. Oh well, it was a necessary evil, she thought with a sigh.

Writing down the list of ingredients posted on the board, Dominic sighed quietly as he took out his cauldron. It wasn't that he didn't mind potions, but rather more of the case of he didn't want a psychology lesson during potions class. Since he was quite the farthest thing from being in love.

His head turned instinctively towards a female's voice who appeared to be responding to his male hormones suggestion. Ah, of course it was Kaika. Shaking his head musingly, he found it kind of funny. "That's debatable. At least male hormones don't cause one to cry at the drop of a hat."

Squinting at his list, he saw the first ingredient was water. Well that's easy, he thought, until he looked over to see Mystery Girl with a puzzled look on her face. Wait a moment, wasn't she supposed to be in Ravenclaw? Like smart or something... then again, she didn't like books, which was odd for a 'claw.

Shaking his head slightly, he pointed his wand into his cauldron and muttered 'aguamenti', watching as his size two pewter cauldron began to fill with water. Once he was sure he had enough, he stopped the water spell and looked over towards Mystery Girl again.

"Psst... are you stumped?" he asked, noticing she hadn't filled her cauldron yet with water.

Debatable? Everything in life is debatable for that matter. But clearly Dominic had a thing against girls, or most of them, anyway.

Ok, so the water was boiling. What now? Ah! Right, the essence of violet. It looked harmless enough. She added the five drops and was about to stir it when she forgot in what direction, "Wait, is it clockwise or counter-clockwise? she thought, and gave a quick glance at the board. Good. Clockwise now. She stirred it five times before adding the seven drops of rose thorn essence. This time she had to stir seven times but...counter-clockwise.

Kaika reread the next instruction, and lowered the flame up until the liquid was below the boiling point.

Sigh. Since an Anti-Love potion was not something Willow particularly needed, the fourth year was not looking forward to do it. To be honest, it look quite complex, and what was the point of wasting her time doing something as hard as this potion if it was absolutely useless for her. None! The professor, however, did not seem to agree.

Momentarily distracted by the little argument a couple of Hufflepuffs --Weird Boy included. Of course he was arguing with a girl-- Willow eyed the two of them for a second, before turning back to a stare at her cauldron. Now, did she want to do the pointless potion or not? Well, it wasn't like she had a choice, but there was nothing wrong on thinking that she could actually decided whether she wanted to do it or not...

Snapping her head up as she heard someone whispering to her, the girl realized it was Weird Boy. What? Did he want to argue about Hormones with her, too? Willow didn't like Hormones. Annoying little things.. Not that hers were much of a problem, but still. Those things caused a lot of drama.

"Stumped? Me? No, I was just er--pondering some things about it." Right. Like how pointless it was. But Willow was not about to say that, for the professor might hear and that could get her in trouble. "What about you? I see you are excited about it," she pointed out, noting that there was water inside his cauldron already. "Someone's in love and doesn't want to feel that way anymore, it seems." Snicker. Okay, that had been uncalled for, buut--she didn't care. As long as the professor didn't hear, everything would be fine. Besides, it was a simple question. Sort of.

She payed as much attention to the 10 minutes she was watching the liquid, just trying to follow everything as supposed to be, it was after all, the first time shewas doing a Potion since her second year. Of course, considering last year's fiasco.

Kaika was so into this, and actually enjoying it, that she barely noticed Dominic and the Ravenclaw girl. And couldn't help to laugh lightly at what she commented in the end, "Someone's in love and doesn't want to feel that way anymore, it seems" she laughed again as she repeated the words the Ravenclaw girl had just said. Merlin, she was just hilarious.

Ok. Back to potion brewing. Kaika found the 2 raven feathers and thought about added them when she remembered Snowy. Her hand was stopped on top of the cauldron. Right, Snowy was an owl, not a raven, but it somehow got to her. "Silly" she thought, before finally adding the feathers into the cauldron. She looked over the board one more time and waited for it to boil the five minutes, while doing what the step said.

Uh-Oh. Question. "Umm, Professor, are we supposed to save part of the liquid now and use a bit of it to continue with the potion, or it's just for future reference?" she asked, considering what it said about covering and using it for later. And as she waited for Professor Bontecou to answer, she decided to begin slicing the skinkroot, she'll probably use the time, since she wasn't really good at slicing things, much less making them so thin that they'll look translucent.

Looking back to his boiling water, Dominic decided to get on with adding the next two ingredients. It wasn't that he was entirely anxious to make the potion, but if they had to do it, then he would. Maybe feeding it to some of those emotional crying females would actually be a bonus to life at Hogwarts.

Once the water was at a steady boil, the fourth year reached over to pick up the essence of violet. 5 drops... he reminded himself, carefully inserting one drop at a time, until five were added. Stir 5 times, clockwise. Stirring the solution carefully, his thoughts were interrupted by the response of Mystery Girl.

"Pondering things about it?" he asked skeptically, absentmindedly stirring his potion clockwise. Then she said the words he had not really expected from her mouth; or maybe he did, but he wasn't entirely sure. Someone's in love and doesn't want to feel that way anymore Merlin! This girl was seriously bonkers! The thought made him stir his potion faster, forgetting how many times he had stirred it. Whoops!

"Oh yes, Mystery Girl," he replied sarcastically. "Don't you know that I'm madly in love?" With myself, maybe... "Pleasssseeeee! I thought you at least knew me better than THAT! I'm just making the potion cause what else is there to do since I DID come to class." Shaking his head, he turned back to his potion and gulped. Right, time to add the essence of rose thorn. Seven drops...

Well, this class turned to be very interesting after all. Not to mention she liked making potions, but the whole 'argument' between Dominic and the Ravenclaw. Honestly, why did the boy got into talking with girls if he didn't even liked the sight of them was beyond her. But it wasn't really any of her business.

"Ugh" she thought. How come she couldn't slice things the right way? There wasn't much to it, right? Apparently there was, because they didn't look translucent enough for her, "Silly slices" she thought. Kaika watched the silvery sharp-edged cutting object as if it was its fault and sighed. Clearly the little knife had nothing to do with her slicing skills, but she continued nonetheless.

A procrastinator was something Willow was not. But, that's what she was doing right now. Or was the correct word Stalling? Yes, it probably was. Willow was stalling in the making of her Anti-Love potion. Ugh. No point on doing these anymore, for she would have to end up doing it in the end. That or getting in trouble for not following the instructions that were given.

Sighing a heavy sigh, the fourth year took out her wand from the insides of her robes, muttered aguamenti and let the water fall on her cauldron for a bit, before stopping the spell. Now what else she had to do? Five drops of essence of Violet. Right. Adding this ingredient quickly, the girl started to stir the liquid inside her cauldron, with an absent expression on her face. How many times was she supposed to stir it? Five, right? Well, she did it seven times. Two extra times couldn't hurt much. Or at least she really hoped so.

"Yes, pondering things about it," repeated Willow slowly, almost as if the Hufflepuff was mentally retarded or something remotely closed to that. And then a sly look crossed her eye, before biting her bottom lip, in order to prevent herself from snickering yet again. It was obvious that the boy was not exactly fond of females... especially of those that had trouble keeping their hormones under control. Heh. "You see, Stranger," began Willow slowly, with a dreamy expression on her face. "I was thinking about whether this potion would actually help me to cease the pain that is killing my heart." Cue the dreamy sigh, before taking a few steps towards the boy before stopping right beside him, and completely forgetting about her cauldron. "I am so desperately in love that my heart is aching. Can't you see it?" She closed her eyes, and sighed yet again. Oh, how ridiculous she must have looked--which was the entire point. Willow was pretty sure she was looking ridiculous, for the girl was mimicking the facial expression of all those 'heart broken' girls she had seen around the school. Moping and crying over boys... idiots.

Deciding that being standing next to him and looking like an idiot was beginning to feel too awkward for her own taste, Willow took a step back, to return the boy his space. "Kiiiiidding," whispered the girl with a smirk and a wink, being her usual self again, and looking slightly superior. Walking back to her seat, Willow stirred the potion again.

Drat! Eight times now. Ah, well...

"Oh, you don't have to lie, Stranger," began Willow again from her seat, looking at the ingredients and instructions. "I know you are in love. I can tell." Snort. More like the opposite.

Rapunzel had actually been doodling all over her parchment, trying to pay attention to the professor and failing, when she heard him mention a "Delusting" potion.

Hold up now, what's this? Her ears perked up and she sat up, actually glancing at the young professor for once. Now why would he want to teach us such a potion as that....hum....

Oh she didn't have an issue with the potion, she just found Bontecou's timing impeccable. Especially after Punzel's last encounter down by the Front Gate...ay yi yi didn't Maxim say he liked pumpkin juice?

Smirking slightly, Rapunzel set up her cauldron and added some water, starting the fire beneath the pot so it would start boiling. She had to follow these instructions to the letter if she hoped to actually start using the potion sometime soon...she couldn't help but cackle quietly as the cauldron started bubbling just a bit....not that anyone could hear her anyways....

As they had been told to start brewing, Elizabeth had calmly writen the ingredients and instructions down in her notes before following them. Her focus had been so concentrated on the cauldron that she hadn't even noticed the argument going on nearby.

Her water had begun to boil, so she moved to steps two and three. Carefully adding five drops of essence of violet to her boiling water, she stirred, counting out five clockwise turns, then added the seven drops of essence of rose thorn. Stirring the liquid counter-clockwise seven times, she glanced over at her notes.

Kayla copied down the instructions from the board and then proceeded to fill her cauldron with the required amount of water. She followed each step carefully and triple checked that she was doing everything in the right order and the right way.

Potions was her weakest subject but for some reason today she felt as though she could accomplish mastering this particular potion. She chuckled softly to herself, the gods must be looking down upon her for them to be learning how to brew an anti-love potion.

Once she had finished making the potion and was happy that it appeared the way it was supposed to, Kayla bent down behind her desk and reached inside her bag and pulled out a couple of spare jars. She slipped them inside her robes and sat back up straight in her chair and eyed the Gryffindor Prefect with a small smirk on her face. Hmm...must remember to invite the Prefect for some breakfast Kayla thought as she clenched one of the jars in her hand.

Jessica copied the ingredients and instructions written by the Professor and read them again carefully before starting to work on brewing the potion.
She filled the cauldron with 500 ml of water and brought it to boil, then added the other ingredients in the right order.

She finished the potion and it seemed to be as supposed to,so the girl realised she did it right and was quite proud of herself.

Cassandra slipped in silently at the back of the class and stood by the door, hoping the students wouldn't see her. She didn't want to disrupt the class... She nodded at the professor, and gave him a slight smirk. Potions had always been one of her favorite classes, and under the excuse of making sure one of the kids didn't blow up a cauldron in their faces, she figured she could at least get to watch this professor teach...

Mystie did not get a chance to say an ingredient for this potion, but she knew of this potion. She likes potions so she got different potions from family and friends of the family. This is one of them. She took out the journal that she had it in, gathered the stuff she needed and started to brew.

Once her water was boiling just right, Rapunzel carefully added the 5 drops of violet stuff and started stirring, five times clockwise. Clockwise was to the right, right? Er, sure.

She then added the essence of rose thorn and started stirring again, going the opposite direction from how she'd last been stirring. Hopefully that's the right way....man, I always mix up my directions....

Reducing the heat to simmer, Rapunzel looked up to ask the Professor a question and noticed the door to the classroom softly shutting. She narrowed her eyes suspiciously as it appeared the nurse...intern? or somebody like her was hovering in the back of the room. Pffft, what's she need to be here for? Not like she's a student anymore.

Punz rolled her eyes and turned back to her potion, stirring it twice in what she hoped was a counter-clockwise motion. With that done, she added two raven feathers and turned the heat up again, sitting back in her chair as she waited for it to boil. She really needed to get this potion right.

After assembling all of the necessary hardware and ingredients, Qaz read through the recipe several times. This was OWL level...mistakes were not allowed.

After lighting a fire under her cauldron, Qaz measured out exactly 500ml of water and poured it in. She patiently waited for it to boil.

While she was waiting, she gazed around. Several familiar faces.

Once her water began to boil, Qaz continued with the ingredients:

She carefully counted out 5 drops essence of violet and proceeded to stir 5 times, clockwise

Then she added 7 drops essence of rose thorn and stirred 7 times, counter-clockwise

Qaz reduce heat so that the concoction would simmer.

Keeping a careful eye on her watch, she stirred 2 times, counter-clockwise every minute, for 10 minutes.

Then, she increased the heat again, added 2 raven feathers and boiled for 5 minutes, stirring clockwise.

Then, Qaz extinguished the fire and carefully removed the cauldron from the heat and covered it.

Daphne carefully wrote down the instructions with her green quill. She was not looking forward to making this potion, they always seemed to go wrong for her. But like everyone else in the lesson, she proceeded with the steps to make this delusting potion. She knew a few people this would be good for. She chuckled at the thought, then considered actually utilising it.

With that in mind, she got the proper amount of water and poured it into her cauldron. She lit a fire underneath and patiently waited for it to come to a boil. This seemed to take forever, mainly because she was just sitting and watching the little bubbles float up from the bottom of the cauldron. Boring.

Eventually it came to a boil and Daphne looked down at the instructions. "Add 5 drops of essence of violet," she said to herself, picking up the vial, double checking the label to ensure it was the proper ingredient. She carefully added 5 drops and stirred the mixture 5 times, clockwise. Next on the list was to add 7 drops of essence of rose thorn. She did this, than sighed as she stirred the mixture counter-clockwise seven times. Her little arms were getting tired from all this stirring.

She was glad the next step involved brining the mixture to a simmer, but alas that wasn't all. No, she had to stir twice, counter-clockwise, every minute. After the ten minutes, she swore both her arms would fall off. It was so uncomfortable to stir over the heat of the cauldron. She may have missed one of two stirs, but she doubted it would really make a difference. She added the two raven feathers and raised the heat. She bitterly stirred clockwise, watching the clock run down. After five minutes, she noticed she had reached a suitable stopping point, so she set it off of the flame and covered it. It wouldn't hurt to take a little break. She stretched her arms out. If there was any more stirring, she needed to rest.

Kayla sat back and waited for their next instructions and she spotted the Intern out of the corner of her eye enter the classroom. Well if there was one person who didn't need a anti-love potion it was Cassandra Trelawney, the woman was an ice queen and hated everyone...except herself that is.

Ludo couldn't stop grinning. Potions class had arrived at last. He hadn't discussed much at the start of class, mostly because he was so eager to start brewing. He'd seen several of his friends: Asteira, Liz, and Mari. But seeing as class had begun he tried not to bother them and distract them from their work.

As the directions were put on the board, Ludo copied them down and raised his eyebrows. "Delusting potions...nothing like Euphoria." he thought, grinning. In his mind he thought back to some potions article he read in the library contrasting the two.
With a final scibble of the quill, Ludo got to work on the draught.
He filled his cauldron with water, passing a hand across the pewter rim, as he waited for it to boil.

As he waited he got out his other ingredients. He started slicing skinkroot and hummed to himself as the bubbles rose from the heated water.

Mari filled her cauldron with water, lighting a fire underneath it easily enough and thinking that would be the easiest part for her. Now, who knew what would happen.

She watched it come to a boil quicker than she had anticipated, and soon she was required to put in the essence of violet. She added the five drops, doing so a bit more slowly than everyone else around her, mostly because she was afraid of doing anything wrong. Next came the rose thorn, but not before stirring the violet five times clockwise. She had almost forgotten!

The essence of rose thorn now in the mix, Mari stirred the potion seven times counter-clockwise, keeping her eye on the potion almost as if it was going to blow up in her face right then and there. Now that it was to this point, she had to let it just simmer for...ten minutes. She stirred counter-clockwise twice every minute before adding the raven feathers and boiling it again, watching the mixture with an odd look of fear and distrust as she timed it and stirred it.

Giving a sigh of relief as she extinguished the flame, Mari took the cauldron and covered it, setting it on the table before her. She then set about cutting the skinroot, taking her time so she would make twenty perfectly translucent slices, and once she had she set them aside for future use. She then retrieved three rat eyes, setting them next to her skinroot before taking up her cauldron again and beginning the rewarming bit of the recipe. That done, she added the final ingredients, making a face as she handled the rat eyes. Soon enough, she actually had a pink potion with black..well, blotches if not streaks. She looked at her potion dubiously, almost tempted to poke it with stick or something else that would make sure her hands remained clean.

Qaz decided that it was time to finish her potion…so, she put her cauldron back on a low fire so that it would slowly heat back up.

While she was waiting for it to boil, she sliced her skinroot. Qaz loved her knife…the silver shone and the turquise felt so comforting to the touch. It was a present from her Shaman…and she’d treasured it more than anything else she owned….except her wand.

Her potion was starting to simmer, so she increase the fire slightly and kept a close eye on it until it boiled. Qaz then added the 20 superthin slices of skinroot and turned down the flame. Watching ever so closely, she added the 3 rat eyes as soon as the mixture turned pink.

Qaz quickly and carefully removed the cauldron from the heat, extinguished the fire and started carefully stirring…keeping a close eye out for black streaks. As soon as the black streaks appeared, she stopped stirring.

Anna quickly copied down the instructions and then set to work preparing her potion. She first brought her water to a boil, and then added the five drops of violet. Hmm...how many times was she supposed to stir...and in what direction? She quickly referred back to her notes and then stirred the appropriate amount of times in a clockwise direction. Soon enough, she found herself on the seventh step of the brewing, which required her to add three rat eyes. Ewww. Sometimes brewing potions could be so...disgusting, to say the least. Oh, well. At least it was a valuable subject to learn.

After the seventh step was complete, Anna removed her potion from the heat and stirred until she noticed black streaks begin to appear. Hmmm...had she done it? Had she successfully made the potion? Who knew. Maybe the professor would come along soon and verify.

Qaz was very please at how her potion turned out. She hoped that the Professor was, too.

While she was waiting, she carefully wrote down all of the instructions for her Potions scrapbook.

He walked over to see where she was. "Ah, no. That part of the instruction is for if you didn't have time to brew it up all at once. You can stop at this point and resume following the instructions at a later time. Some potions allow stopping points and others require you to brew it continuously until done or it will spoil," he explained and looked up as someone entered the classroom.

Oh. It was that healer intern. He gave her a dashing smile, pushed his dirty glasses back up on his nose and continued his rounds.

"That looks perfect. I'm quite impressed," he told her. "Why don't you bottle that up, label it, and leave it on my desk. Once you're cleaned up you can leave as soon as I've announced the homework or just look for it on the notice board." He continued walking.

"Excellent job! Those streaks look perfect. You can bottle it up now," he said and moved on, checking on each of the students in the class.
