Anna excitedly walked into Potions class, glad to be taught once again by a real professor and not one of those annoying Ministry workers. She smiled at the professor, who was distracted with the reading of some sort of book, and then continued on to find a seat.

She took out a few pieces of parchment and a quill and then patiently waited for class to start.

To be perfectly honest, Potions was not one of Willow Kovac's strongest subjects. However, she was not entirely bad at it, either. But even so, the young Ravenclaw did not feel entirely prepared for the first Potions lesson of the term, for last term's Potions classes with Melita had been a complete joke. Sigh. Ridiculous Belle's school. She couldn't be more glad that they had not forced them to return to that place.

After having been outside the classroom for at least five minutes looking nervous, Willow took a deep breath, and stepped inside the classroom quietly. "Hello, Professor. Having a nice day, I hope?" greeted the girl politely, noticing at once that this was not her old Potions professor. Huh. Shrugging, the fourth year took seat quietly in the front of the classroom, opened her text book and waited for the class to start.

Kaika ran as soon as she found out about the Potions lesson, she'd finally get to meet their new professor, he couldn't be as bad as the one they had before.

She walked inside, and grinned, "Hello Professor!" she exclaimed, as she took a seat in the front, "Did you enjoy the box of chocolates I left you in your office?" she asked him, wondering if he'll remember about her from her note.

"I'm having a fantastic day, thank you. I've only gotten lost twice," he chuckled. "Good afternoon!" he called to everyone who had entered, stuck a worn, blue, bookmark in his book and set it aside, the title 1984, face up.

"Yes, indeed! I love chocolate. I just need to remember not to eat it too close to bed time or with coffee. Too much energy. I can't sleep," Professor Bontecou grinned and looked to the door, awaiting the entrance of the next student.

Why did she have to be friends with the Gryffindor prefect? She was totally going to scoff Potions class when Anna had found her hiding in her room. So much for reading for the next hour! Sam was not brilliant with potions, one of the great reasons for skipping it. But she knew if she was not in this chair by the time class ends, the prefect was going to eat her alive.

The fifth year pushed open the door to the potions room and spotted the Gryffindor already there. She snorted. Knowing Anna, she was probably the first one there. Swallowing her irratation with the girl, Sam walked over and took the empty stool next to her.

"I'm here, so call off the aurors now." she said, trying to hold in a smile. She set her bookbag down onto the ground and placed her wand into her pocket. Wonder what Professor Bontecou had in store for them.

"Someone call for an auror?" he chuckled as the girl took her seat beside the prefect. "I don't think we'll need any of those here today, though perhaps that healer intern wouldn't be amiss." Hmm.

Gotten lost twice? Well, that could be an achievement for someone new to Hogwarts. She'd gotten lost way to many times to count.

Kaika smiled, "Good, and I agree on the bed time part" she said, with a nod. She was glad that he liked the little welcome, and was hoping her classes will be good. She took out her quill and parchments, just to be ready.

Sam couldnt help but blush beat read as the proffesor overheard what she said. Good thing he could not read her mind. It would be beyond embarassing if he knew that she had about skipping his class. Well was going to until Anna found her. "Ummm...just a little joke me and Anna have." she chuckled nervously. She then looked down guiltily and hoped he wouldnt ask her anything else.

I've gotten lost twice?

Only gotten lost twice? What? Did he got lost around the school on a daily basis? And not only that--did he get lost more than two times per day? What a strange man, this one was! Sure that Hogwarts was not exactly a small place, but really... And to think this was the man who would be teaching them such an important subject as Potions.

The little internal ranting, however, was not reflected on her expression, for as soon as all the mental talking ended, the girl simply nodded, and smiled a polite smile at the professor.

Weird man.

Mari walked into Potions classroom quietly, unsure of herself already. This was the one subject she was terrible, absolutely terrible at, but she had resolved to be better than previous years. She took a seat near the center but a row or two back, and she waited for anyone she knew to show up. She did see Anna, but she didn't feel like she knew her quite so well as to feel comfortable asking to sit with her during a class, especially this class.

asteira came into the classroom as she sat near the back. She was really horrible at potions and if anything happened to explode...well the less people to see it the better." Hi professor. How are you today?" she asked as she moved to sit down. She put her book on the desk as she pulled out thing to take notes.she looked over to see mari." Hey Mari...if i start doing something wrong... please stop me and make me do it right." she asked her.

Daphne strolled into Potions and took a seat in the middle of the room. She managed well with earlier potions lessons, but this was an OWL lesson. She heard this was one of the hardest of the OWL subjects, so she was apprehensive. She slowly took out her quill and parchment and prepared for the lesson. She idly twirled her blond hair around her index finger as she waited for the lesson to start.

Elizabeth walked into Potions, a little nervous about class. She wasn't entirely sure how well she'd deal with potions. It wasn't like Charms, or the other wand-based classes. Or History of Magic, which was mostly reading.

But then she heard the professor talking about chocolate, and glanced up. A smile crept onto her face as she realized this may not be as scary as she thought. "Hello, professor," she said as she took a seat near Asteira and Mari.

Blue eyes scanned the classroom as Evolette McKenna entered, she was very excited for a Potions lesson, as it was, one of her best subjects, like pretty much everything else. Tossing a polite smile at the Professor, she turned to search for a seat.

She pouted slightly when she realized that none of her friends were there yet. Namely the boys. Who was she to sit next to?

Then she spotted the Ravenclaw girl, the one who knew that rude boy. Perhaps she wouldnt mind some company.

Clearing her throat, she stopped beside Willow and smiled, "Mind if I sit with you?" she asked.

Mari turned in her seat a little as Asteira came in, and she smiled warmly at her friend as she made a comment about needing her help." I'm afraid I won't know how to stop you from doing that," She said quietly. " I'm terrible at Potions too." She admitted, and then she quieted down again, waving a little as Elizabeth came in next.

"Good afternoon," he called as more students came in. Then, he turned to reply to some of the others.

"I like jokes. Just be careful what you say about aurors because there are quite a few of former aurors here," he grinned. He did that a lot. Reynard Bontecou would make a great Santa Claus (if he were fat and old and had white hair and a beard and mustache and elves.... okay, so maybe he was just jolly like the big man in a red suit).

"I'm doing well, thank you."

Qaz found a seat in the back. She was a bit nervous. Potions was not one of her best subjects, and this was OWL level.

She reached into her bag and pulled out parchment and a quill.

Tap, tap, tap.

Abesentmindedly, Willow began to tap her fingers against the desk. Well, people was surely taking their sweet time to arrive to the classroom. Meh. She felt as though she'd been inside that classroom forever--well, not really, but she was just impatiently waiting for the class to start. Besides, it didn't help that she had been one of the first people to arrive.

Snapping but to reality at the sound of someone clearing their throat, the fourth year looked up, and brushed her dark bangs out of her eyes. Oh. It was Evolette. The one had complimented her shoes... what shoes were those again? Willow couldn't even remember. Eh--bad memory, as usual. "Not at all. Go ahead," she answered with a nod, and half smile before sighing, and looking back at the professor.

"Alright, now that we're all here," he said seeing that the majority of seats were filled. "We can get started on our boring lesson for today." The professor winked at the students.

"Today we're going to discuss potions that will induce some sort of emotional distortion. Anyone have any idea what I mean by that?"

Anna raised her hand. "Do you mean...potions that can be consumed for the sole purpose of altering one's emotions?" Anna asked. "Maybe these potions can cause a person to feel unusually happy, sad, confused, etc."

Qaz raised her hand and replied, 'That would be potions that can change your emotions...to love, or hate, for example.'

Mari thought for a moment, and the first thing that came to her mind was the most obvious one. Hand raised, she spoke a bit hesitantly. " Professor, would it be a...potion to simulate romantic emotions?" She said, feeling a bit silly for saying that in the first place.

Willow chewed on her lip, as she thought of the question the professor had asked.

"A potion that can affect our personality? The way that we behave and such, perhaps?" Willow answered, with her hand in the air. "Like a Calming Draught and the Draught of Peace, for instance?"

Elizabeth blinked, then raised her hand. "Emotional distortion? I would think that would mean potions that cause a change in emotional state. Like, turn a happy person sad, or the reverse."
