| | |  Muggle Studies Lesson 3 - The Traveling Carnival
Antonio strolled into the Muggle Studies classroom with a self-satisfied smirk on his face. The term before last had been a tough one on everyone, the students as well as staff, but things were looking better now and he was here to present a lesson they would never forget, well at least not the special surprise at the end. But all that would come later. For now, he was ready to get the teaching part of the lesson over with, then they could get to the other part.
Antonio stepped over to the desk at the front of the room and laid a cover over it which somewhat resembled a mixture of dirt and grass. He then placed a miniature ferris wheel, roller coaster, merry go round and some tiny bowling pins, milk bottles, food and a few other assorted items out the cover for display.
He waited for the students to show up, hoping they would enjoy today's lesson as much as he had enjoyed preparing for it.

Lizzie hadn't had time to find the answer before a lot of students had already raised their hands. Not that she didn't know what an amusement park was, or a carneval. But she wanted to have the right answer out of wizard's view. Now she decided to wait for the next question instead.

Meredith raised her hand "A traveling carnival is an amusement show that may be made up of amusement rides, food vendors, merchandise vendors, games of chance and skill, thrill acts, animal acts or sideshow curiosities. A traveling carnival isn't on one permanent place like an amusement park, but moves around from place to place. Usually you can buy candyfloss there..It's always fun to go to one, but it can be expensive sometimes, depending on what carnival you're visiting.."
She remembered visiting a carnival once, it had been lots of fun.

Professers always asked the most unsusual questions. This one was a bit more difficult but Barry finally found the answer "In 1893 the Chicago's World's fair was the catalyst for the development of the traveling carnival.The Chicago World's Fair had an area that included rides, games of chance, freak shows and burlesque. After the Chicago World's Fair, traveling carnival companies began touring the United States" said Barry. Hmm I wonder if they ever got back home in london.

Meredith looked in her textbook to find the answer. She found something, but wasn't sure if it was right. Hestitantly, she raised her hand.

Traditionally, on the evening of the last day of the events, the sponsoring organization will often pay for a fireworks display that signals the end of the day's festivities." she answered. She put her silver star necklace in her mouth and bit on it.
