She had to bite her lip as Kairi imitated her posh London accent, attempting to keep her laughter down. 'Well, we'll have to get the two to teach each other, won't we?' Now, that would be fun, having the two crazy cats together for a long period of time. She then shook her head. 'I don't think so, no.' Maybe if she got to know him a little better, or saw him when he wasn't so . . . upset, she'd get a better impression.

She raised an eyebrow. 'Now, I would say that would be fine, but I don't mind being called Mina-ko so long as it's not more than twenty times a day.' Like some people she knew. She pursed her lips in thought of her cousins. They took it to the extreme.

'A scar?' Ugh. Though she had a few of her own, she wasn't too fond of scars. Sometimes, they repulsed her. She couldn't stop her nose wrinkling at the thought. 'I'd learn to cope with it. But if you say it's not going to happen . . .' She trailed off, knowing Kairi would know what the end of the sentence was, before she realised that the Gryffindor would probably be able to tell Mina wasn't exactly being fully honest by her vibrations. Maybe one day she'd tell Kairi. But that day certainly wasn't today.

Kairi chuckled, "I can't imagine what would happen if we put those two together, maybe we should try it sometime," she said with a sly grin. Now that would be interesting...
"20 times a day, got it, that's a bit pacific, but ok, I'll try," she said, stroking Ukai gently on the head as his machine-pur filled the seventh floor corridor.
She nodded, and looked guiltily at her converses, "It won't happen if you promise me that you'll run if you see my eyes glow white, unless i tell you otherwise," she said seriously.

She nodded enthustiastically. 'It's be a great idea, and a great source of amusement for everyone.' She grinned, already imagining the crazy antics she knew Michi would get up to.

She rolled her eyes. 'It's just because I've got a cousin or two who call me it in every sentence.' She winced. 'They're the most annoying people you'll ever meet, trust me.' Oh, it would be fun next year. Not.

Run away? Mina resisted the urge to pull another face. She knew there was a reason she'd let herself become close to Kairi, something she didn't normally do with anyone, and she would not run away if Kairi needed her. Still, to satisfy her friend, she put on a small smile. 'If you really want me to, then I will,' she lied, keeping her eyes carefully guarded and her expression controlled, but natural at the same time.

Kairi chuckled, "Ukai and Michi...maybe they're brothers?"

"Cousins, I've never had a cousin before, well...apart from you," she said with a small smile.

"Your acting won't work on me, Mina, I've got my own pair of eyes," she said, gesturing towards her converses in which housed her feet, "But if you don't want to run, then don't, just don't blame me if you get an icicle stuck in your arm," Kairi said seriously.

Mina thought about that for a moment. 'Maybe they are. Did you get Ukai from the Menagerie?' If she did, that would just back up the idea of them being brothers even more.

She raised an eyebrow. 'Trust me; you don't want proper cousins if you can help it.' It was really annoying sometimes. 'Just be grateful that I'm a "cousin" you've never had to life with.' Actually, that reminded her of something. 'Oh, since I've finally gotten my uncle to agree, if you want you can come over to my place at some point if you want to.' It would be nice to have someone over for Mina and not the others.

Now that was annoying. Mina would never understand this whole vibrations thing. 'Can you sense absoloutely everything?' she asked, annoyed. 'I'm assuming, since you sense ground vibrations you can't sense water vibrations as easily.' That would be a plan.

"Yup, I did get Ukai from the Menagerie, is that where you got Michi?" Kairi asked curiously. Maybe they were brothers...it would be such a coincidence if they were.

"That would be cool, thanks. I'd finally be able to get away from my dad, and he's an acholic," She didn't say anymore, guessing that Mina would be able to work out for herself what her dad did to her...

"Everything, apart from the expelliarmus spell," Oops, she'd just told Mina her weakness..."Water..." She couldn't remember if she'd told Mina about her bending or not, but this was the time to tell if she hadn't, "Have I told you about my bending? And yes, the vibrations aren't as clear as they are if they're on earth," she added reluctantly.

'Yup. I kinda nicked some money from my uncle to buy him the first time I went into Diagon Alley by myself.' She giggled lightly, remembering how displeased Jake had been after the incident with the vase - which happened to be when he found out about Michi in the first place.

She frowned slightly, remembering that one time she'd encountered Kairi's father. What she didn't want to remember was how close to hitting him Mina had been just before Kairi had. 'If that's the case, I'm sure I could sweet talk Jake into letting you stay over a few nights if you really want to get away from him.' It wasn't like the guestroom was being used anymore, anyway.

Now . . . if it weren't for the fact the best Mina could do at the moment was send the wand a few inches away, she would have used that against Kairi if the other girl annoyed her. But, Mina had told Kairi her weakness, so it was only fair. 'No, but I piece things together quickly if I'm given enough.' She shrugged, leaning the back of her head against the wall.

"Tut tut, Mina," Kairi said jokingly, "Nicking money, you naughty little girl!" she said, once again in that posh London accent. She chuckled, "So maybe Ukai and Michi are long lost brothers. Although Michi's black, isn't he?"
"Thanks, I'd appreicate that..." she siad with a greatful smile.

"Don't hold that against me, Mina," she said with a small grin, "Although I can't see expelliarmus I can still hear it,"

'It wouldn't be the first time I've done it, and since it's from my family I supposed you could say I'm "borrowing",' Mina replied in the same London accent again. 'Considering that it was my money paying for my schooling before Hogwarts.' Stupid private school.

'They may well be. Although yeah, the colour's an issue . . . maybe half brothers, or cousins?' It would be such a strange coincidence if the cats did turn out to be related. 'And it's no problem. Star and Cully are moving out straight after this year, leaving us with a free room, then 'Kari's not coming until the end of the summer . . . we've got a few guests rooms as well.' One privelege of living in Jake's house, at least.

She pulled a face, hitting her leg as if she was upset. 'Darn, and that would be such a good idea as well!' she teased. 'Then again, maybe not considering you'd just have to bend down to grab your wand at the moment if I cast it.' She was once again reminded of how badly Nate upstaged her in class and - to her horror - felt a blush on her cheeks. Stupid boy, ruining her moment of glory.

"So are you related to Star and Cully, or aare you just friends?" Kairi asked curiously.

"I used to have two cats, they were brothers, one was black and white, the other was ginger and white, maybe Ukai and Michi are actually brothers," She thought about it and a small smile appeared on her face.

Kairi chuckled, "My expelllarmus is rubbish as well, so don't worry,"

She frowned. 'Now, that's a confusing question to answer.' It confused Mina, and she'd known this for years! 'Basically, Star and Cully are my uncle's ex-wife-now-long-distance-girlfriend's nieces.' Confusing much? Mina's head was already spinning. 'So in a way, we're related and in a way, we're friends.' She pulled a face.

'Maybe. If I'm honest, Michi's my first pet that's not a fish, so I've no idea other than my experience with the other cats in the family.' And the scars on her arm from Vinnie. Stupid cat. 'Well, I suppose we'll never know, will we?'

She sighed. 'That's a relief, 'cos when Nate cast it I began to think everyone but me could do it.' And then that sulking session . . . oh, Mina had so much fun teasing Nate until he began to feel too bad.

"That's a bit complicated," Kairi said, with a small smile.

Kairi chuckled, "I guess it didn't go so well in DADA?"

'Tell me about it. You don't have to live with it daily.' Mina shuddered. Sometimes, she just felt like she was at a brick wall everything was so confusing. Especially now the twins had moved in. That just threw everything into a much more confusing light.

She shook her head. 'Nope. I was proud of myself for managing to get Nate's wand out of his hand because Jake's been teaching me the basics. But then he went and upstaged me, making my wand fly across the room. I threw a sulk for a minute but then carried it on to tease him.' She giggled lightly. 'It was annoying but fun.'

Kairi chuckled, "You spend a lot of time with Nate don't you?" she asked with a sly grin.

Mina nearly choked, glancing at Kairi. 'Are you kidding? I think I know what you're thinking, and no way is it like that.' Her cheeks were blushing as best they could again. This was very embarrassing. 'Okay, so we met in Hogsmeade, he's freaked me out on the paths, and we've had DADA and Potions together. So what? I spend more time on my own than with him.' She crossed her arms over her chest, turning her dark eyes from Kairi.

"Ok, ok, I was joking," Kairi said, raising her hands as if in surrender.

Slightly distrustfully, Mina turned her gaze back to her friends. Her cheeks were still flaming, and suddenly she wished her hair was not up in the elegant bun she'd put it in that morning but was hanging loose. Maybe then anyone walking by would not be able to see the girl's embarrassement. 'I hope you are,' she muttered quietly.

'Anyway,' she said, to change the subject. Hopefully then the blush would fade. 'What has your favourite lesson so far been?'

Hugo was dawdling. In fact, he was going as slow as his feet would possibly take him. He was glad to be inside the warm castle, out of the freezing cold wind which refused to stop blowing no matter what. Tugging on edge of his jumper, he shook the ragged sleeves over his hands and shivered. Brrr. It was even cold inside. He couldn't WAIT to be back in the Slytherin Common Room, all snug and warm by the fire.

Mmmm.

And then he saw the mirror. Freezing in the middle of the corridor, Hugo's hand twitched towards his pocket. He glanced this way and that and when he was sure that nobody was looking, he shoved his hand into the depths of his pocket and retrieved a tube of hair gel. Aherm. As subtly as he could, he popped open the cap and squeezed a fair amount into the palm of his hand, before clicking it shut and putting the gel back into his pocket. Darting towards the mirror in a desperate attempt to quickly apply gel to his already perfect hair, Hugo felt himself slipping...slipping...

SPLAT.

Ow.

Face plant on the mirror. Smooth.

"Favourite lesson? Hmm...Probably muggle studies, funnily enough. But DADA was good, what about you?"

She frowned, thinking about it. 'I'd have to say, surprising myself, DADA so far. I'd have thought it would be Potions, but I guess not.' It was probably because she'd never actually seen students doing anything physical to teachers that made her like DADA so much.

It was then Mina's attention was caught by an older boy who she was sure she'd seen around a few times as he made his way down the corridor. Her eyes skimmed over him once before she turned back to Kairi . . . at least until she saw him slipping from the corner of her eye and smirked slightly.

'You okay?' the first year asked, turning her gaze towards him. Hmm . . . she had definitely seen him around somewhere - though of course, never in this sort of manner. The thought made her smirk again.

Maxxie was in turmoil. Halloween was in two days and his special costume was not up to standard. He hadn't checked the sizing of his tights or his crown, and furthermore he hadn't even opened the pink, glittery hairspray clunking around in his robes to see if it was compatible with the bronze colour of his thick bouncy hair.

He wandered up the corridor wondering where to test his spray out without causing too much hassle. A glint in the corner of his eye made him stop and turn on his heel, and he was suddenly facing a huge image of himself (along with other people, not that Maxxie tended to notice others when he could see himself so magnified.)

"Looking good!" He murmured to himself. Max grabbed the spray from his robe and removed the cap fluidly before spraying copious amounts on his head. He shook his head a little to ensure full coverage.

He noticed a fellow Slytherin standing next to him.

"OH, I'm sorry, do you want some? I can't see why you wouldn't. It is brilliant hairspray." Max sprayed some down towards the person and began to apply his second layer.

"Maxim Parks, fellow snakey dude. Who are you?" Max outstretched a very pink and glittery hand.

Hugo let out a moan, and pulled his face off of the mirror. "I'm super." He muttered to the girl, who appeared to be smirking for no reason what so ever. Hmph.

Hugo was still grumbling when a tall boy pushed his way towards the mirror. Sniffle. Boys were so bloomin' greedy these days! Why should they bother checking themselves out in the mirror when they were so obviously NO WHERE NEAR as good looking as him? Pshh. Blinking twice, he groaned. Oh joy. The hand that had been filled with gel was stuck to the mirror, and when he yanked, he felt himself topple backwards. Picking himself up from the floor, he wiped his sticky hand on his robes and peered at the Hairspray Guy.

"Erm. Hey Maxim...snakey...dude." Hugo mumbled, eying the Slytherin's pink hand cautiously.

It was pink.

And sparkly.

COOL!

Gripping the boys hand with intense enthusiasm, he beamed. "Hugo Jermaine Woods, and dontcha know it." He replied, emerald eyes darting briefly to the mirror, wink, and back to Maxim's face. Once the handshake was over, Hugo lifted his hand to his hair to feel where his fellow Slythie had sprayed him. Woah. It was so bouncy! So light! "Dude, what is that?" He breathed, ogglnig at the can of hairspray. "It's like...it's like...heaven in a bottle." As he spoke, his eyes seemed to glaze over happily.

Maxxie grinned an enormous, shining, glittery grin.

"You can call me Maxxie." He looked to the mirror, winked at himself, then look back at Hugo. "This, Hugo, is my pink, glittery hairspray that is quite possibly the most beautiful thing on Earth. You reckon Wizards rule the world of Haircare? PAH. This is muggle product! It's technically for girls, but I couldn't care less. I am too cool for school with this. Do you think?"

Max grinned again and viewed Hugo's hair.

"Dude, your hair would look awesome with this spray. I'll send out for some! And how do you get it to stay so.... perfect like that?"

Max stared with awe at the boy's hair.

Wow. Hugo officially had a new idol. He returned the boy's grin with equal enormous, shining glittery-ness. They were like FREAKING TWINS.

"Nice to meetcha Maxxie." A chuckle burst from his lips as the boy winked at himself in the mirror. Never, ever had he seen someone besides himself do that. Not even TERRY winked at himself. "You can't call me Hugie, but whose checking?" He winked, and then turned his focus to THE hairspray. God's gift to men; women's pink, sparkley, muggle hairspray. "You are totally too cool for school." Hugo agreed, nodding machanically, unable to draw his gaze off of the can.

"You'd do that?" He whispered, staring at Maxxie in admiration. "Oh THANK YOU!" He threw his arms around the boy, before leaping back and clearing his throat. "I mean...er...that's...cool. Dude. Mate. Yo." He ruffled up his golden locks, and then smiled. "This aweeeesome gel. Muggle gel." He admitted, holding out the tube of hair gel that, however much of it he was ashamed, was a muggle product. "I could get YOU some!"

Hopping excitedly from one foot to another, Hugo's eyes sparkled. "So whatchoo dressing up as for Halloween?"

"Hugie it is." Maxxie grinned wickedly.

Max stumbled as Hugo launched himself at him. "Errr... sure! I'll get my Mother to send some out to me! My parents live in muggle London, they'd be happy to send some up! In the mean time, take this one. I have about five more. A week's supply, you know? YOU CAN GET ME SOME GEL?!?"

Max squealed and hugged Hugo, pulling away quickly.

"Hey, hugs rule, dude." Max winked. Max started bouncing as he told Hugo of his costume.

"I'm dressing up as a fairy. A pink fairy. With wings and a wand. And tights. How about you?"
