Scanning through the books..that would take a lot of time. There had to be some other way.. Computers were much handier. I mean, just searching by keyword is far faster. Well, most of the time she'd used internet to find infomation anyway, not books.. she thought.
"I'm looking for a book on conjuring solid objects, it's for transfiguration homework." Meredith said softly.
Than, even softer, she said "Who's Madam Kohan?"
It annoyed her that she still didn't know most of the teachers and staff.

Nat nat 10-21-2008 03:06 PM

Via smiled at her, "It would take you years if we'll go with it manually. MAdam Kohan is the librarian, but she's talking with Professor Clark at the moment. Let's just look for what you've been looking at," Via explained.

Via pulled Meredith's hand and went at the shelves for transfiguration. "Let's start here," she said.

evanna11 10-21-2008 03:26 PM

Meredith agreed it would take years..But there was bound to be some book she could find today.
"Okay, then I'll just look if I can find something.."
Right: cojuring solid objects, transfiguration. Meredith glanced over the books looking for anything that might help her. Hm..maybe that red one. She took it from the shelf and examined it. "Nope" she muttered to herself and placed it back on the shelf. She went on looking.
Then, a thought came to her mind. "What are you looking for, Via?" maybe she could help her searching. If they helped each other, they could find what they were looking for quicker.

Nat nat 10-21-2008 03:37 PM

Via was actually looking for nothing, she just smiled and shook her head. "I was not here for my homework," she said sadly, "I just wanted to hide and i want to keep my mind busy." She continued to scan the shelf of transfiguration books.

DogsPajamas 10-21-2008 03:37 PM

Kairi walked into the library. Books had never been her thing, but she was on an errand for her sister, so she had no choice but to come into this deep hallow of books after books after books.
She sighed, and looked hopelessly around her. All the books vibrations were exactly the same, a part from a few differences which were barely noticable. She pulled her wand out of her pocket and ran it absent-mindedly along the books as she walked past them. This would take forever! Unless...
Kairi grinned mischeiviously and looked around. No one was about apart from Via (who she knew wouldn't rat her out) and the girl Via was talking to. The librarian was busy talking to Professor Clark, so what the heck?
She placed her hand flat against a section of books and took a deep breath and closed her eyes. When she opened them they were glowing white, and she could see. She almost floated between the shelves, her feet gliding across the floor. Her mysterious, glowing eyes caught sight of the book she needed, and she picked it carefully out of the shelf, the dust coming off in tons. And then she held her head in her hands in pain as her eyes returned back to normal, purple and blind. She looked up and fingered the book in her hand and grinned. Perhaps her strange gift wouldn't be a burden after all.

Nat nat 10-21-2008 03:52 PM

VIa spotted KAiri, she was about to say something but it was distracted. Was it a sign? Maybe. It's safer to be kept. She just strummed the side of the books stacked in the shelves with her fingers. She was glad her hair's not in her usual pony tailed style so she can use it to hide her face.

Barry was not happy the libarian was not where she should have been now he was on a hunt for the treasure on his ownno Cela and the otheres he didn`t know where they were Now where was the book on something? He strolled through the T section ad got out a book called Treasured items but when he opened it he found it wasn`t anything to do with what he needed.

He saw a group huddled round something he wasn`t sure what and it involved Nico Anna and Cale they all knew about the treasure too. He decided to pull a I`m a Ravencaw. Curiousity is in our nature trick he sat down as close as he could and stared at a bookshelf trying to figure out what they were saying

Nat nat 10-21-2008 03:59 PM

"Barry?" Via murmured. She went over to him, "How have you been? I last saw you at your birthday party."

Danny Boy 10-21-2008 04:17 PM

Barry looked up at voice "Oh Via! How are you?" he asked forcing a smile he didn`t like people talking to him when he was spying it meant he couldn`t do it anymore "How are things in the common room ?" he asked still eyeying the group Will was there too . He thought he might as well get something out of talking to Via even if it wasn`t much

evanna11 10-21-2008 05:07 PM

Meredith was still browsing the shelves for a book about conjuring solid objects while listening to Via. She was talking about hiding and keeping her mind busy. Was she not well? Meredith considered asking, and then decided she might just do it. I mean, if she doesn't want to tell, she can always say.. she thought. "Via, why are you hiding? Is there anything wrong with you?"
She glanced up as she saw a girl, who she thought she'd seen before do something weird. Or maybe not weird at all, just magic. Via didn't say anything so Meredith decided not to either, but she wasn't sure if Via had noticed.
She went on searching through the books, now and then opening one if it seemed useful, but not finding what she was searching for.

Via said something to Barry then-wait Barry? Meredith looked around and saw the boy she'd talked to at the opening feast. Huh, she hadn't heard him coming at all. "Hi Barry. Oh, has it been your birthday? I didn't know..It's a little late, but congratulations anyway" she said, smiling.

Then she saw a book. It looked right, somehow. She took it from the shelf and opened it. She read the index. Ah, Conjuring Solid Objects, page 157. Good, this was exactly what she was looking for, she'd finally found it!
"I've found the book I need" she said. Hm, she really needed to finish the assignment.."Sorry Via and Barry, but I really need to finish my assignment, so I'm heading over to the study area..See you later!"

When she saw the male Hufflepuff prefect, who she remembered from the incident in the lounge, she raised an eyebrow and waited to see if he looked up again. She certainly knew he wasn't interested in the book he was holding, since he was flipping through it too quickly. And she was spared from having to wait too much longer by him looking up again.

Shifting her books again, she stepped forward a few feet. "So, is there a reason you keep staring at me, or do you make it a habit to plant yourself in different locations to see if anyone shows up that you can stalk?" A half-smirk appeared on her face. "Finding anything interesting in that book?," she said facetiously, then remembered when she had heard Cale call him by name. "Seth, right? You had a bit of an issue with the Gryffindor prefect."

Looking up from the huge book that was just so interesting, a tiny grin appeared on his face as he slammed the charms book shut. Shrugging his shoulders at the girl, the male placed the book back on its original shelf and leaned against that very same bookshelf. The Ravenclaw prefect noticed him … finally.

“Err … not really, I suppose,” Seth said, glancing back at the book that he had been so keen on putting away right when the girl noticed him. Shoot! Did she know that the whole reading thing was just an act? Smart girl. “I’m not that much of a book person to be perfectly honest with you.”

He was surprised when she had asked for affirmation about his name. He simply nodded his head at that but could not help but make a comment about Newell. “I think almost everyone has a bit of a problem that that kid one way or another, in my opinion anyway. … But yeah. I was sort of looking for you. … Elizabeth, right?”

That’s right. Slowly ease into this whole Slytherin Girl business. He was going to get that name one way or another.

"Yours." Nicholai grinned.

"Thanks." Will grinned back. "Well, what's everyone waiting for? Grab a book, let's figure it out!" he was surprised that Anna hadn't already shot forward and snatched the first available copy, honestly. He cracked the original open and began to read.

Anna had stood back and waited patiently while Nico and Will figured the whole duplication charm out. Duplication seemed like a good idea to her, and it seemed to make everyone else happy, so maybe they could all put their heads together and retrieve this treasure after all. That thought made Anna's excitement over the entire situation return, and she spoke up and rejoined the conversation at once.

"Don't mind if I do," Anna said, reaching forward and grabbing her share of...whatever this was. "Come on, Cale. Let's get started on figuring all this out..."

XanaSnape 10-22-2008 04:27 AM

Will raised an eyebrow. "Come on, Cale? Surely, fellow Prefect, you are going to sit down with the rest of us and work with the interhouse team, and not go off all on your twosies to find the treasure to claim it for Gryffindor alone?" he looked levelly at her, challenging her to leave. After her big pronouncements about unity, to get what she wanted and scurry off with her Gryffindor boy toy would be just a bit too ... Slytherin, in Will's opinion. Quite distasteful to see, in a pair of Gryffindorks.

BanaBatGirl 10-22-2008 04:32 AM

Rapunzel hadn't actually been paying close enough attention to the little arguing group; the bookshelves were getting too crowded with students and two professors and Merlin knew what. She perked up though, when they finally made copies of the book.

"Oooh, nice spellwork, boys," Punz complimented them, winking at Will and that other handsome Slytherin. "Looks great." She picked up a copy and flipped through the pages, noticing that they were a series of letters. Hmm, that shouldn't be too difficult to read....although I'd still like to see the pygmy puff comic books....

Seymour, who had been lost in his own fantasies of what this quest could bring, snapped back into reality as the book finally had been copied enough times for everyone. Bouncing with excitment, he carefully picked up a book and slowly opened it, as though it were made of tissue paper and he was going to rip it at any moment. Of course, he was immediately sucked in; not only was it a book, but it spoke of lords and ladies and knights and quests and everything he read about at home. Well, at least he was well-versed in that sort of thing, right?

His eyes widened slightly as he continued to read on and he turned to Will. "Sire... do you come from a long line of knights and kings and princes and lords and royalty? They seemed to be even more common whenever these letters were written." That wouldn't be all too surprising-- didn't it usually work like that? Maybe that's where Will had gotten all of his knowledge, if they didn't offer classes like that at Hogwarts.

He shot a nasty look at Anna, shaking his head. Like the rest of the group weren't in on this, too? If it hadn't been for Will, they wouldn't even have had found the book to begin with! "She's up to no good, sire. I say we confiscate her book. And his, too." He nodded towards Cale. "To be safe, you know, sire." He had a bad feeling about that Anna girl. She just... wasn't to be trusted.

To be honest, Dominic never thought he'd return to the bookshelves ever again. Especially not so soon after his little assault on his house captain and the encounter with mystery girl. But Transfiguration homework entailed looking up research; something that he immensely did NOT want to do, but decided to do it anyway.

Until... The fourth year stopped dead in his tracks as his topaz eyes laid to rest on a familiar blond head of hair. Deja vu?! Almost... mystery girl was missing... 'course that's what made her a mystery.

Gulping as quietly as possible, the Hufflepuff just watched the group at the tables, wondering what they were working on...

Biff came up and heard a lot of noise in the library. He is very curious. "What is all this commotion about around here?" he asked everyone there especially his dark haired jeweled sweetie- Anna- his good friend." I am interested in what everyone is talking about here in the library" Biff told them.

He cleared his throat a moment later before murmuring, “I’ll try not to squander your time then” he inclined his head slightly, to draw attention to the book he carried. “I realize it has been almost two years, however, it was rather difficult to find a new copy for the book Fex chewed on, and as promised to restore the irrevocable damage he’s made to your library, I finally received a copy by owl this morning”. He brought the book forward as politely as possible, “I hope Fex and I are forgiven now?” he mused.

Angela smiled again as Fabian assured her that he didn't mind the wait. "Groovy?" She repeated with a chuckle. She hadn't heard that expression in a while. "Well, I'im glad that the books here are groovy. Feel free to borrow any of them any time you'd like. By the way, how are classes?"

Glancing down at the book she had noticed earlier that Fabian held, she looked back up at him curiously. At his explanation, her eyes widened slightly in surprise before she looked at the book again. She reached for it at Fabian's offer, and carefully took it into her hands. "Wow...Fabian, I certainly wasn't expecting this...but thank you. I really appreciate it."

With another laugh, she nodded. "Yes, you and Fex are both forgiven."

As a voice piped up nearby, Madame Kohan turned her head, spotting a young Gryffindor. "Hello, dear." She greeted with a warm smile before turning back to Fabian.

She grinned as Seth looked back at the book he had conspicuously put back on its shelf once she had spoken to him. "I got that. Most people who are into books wouldn't be so apt in putting them back once someone spoke to them. Also, they would have paid more attention to the pages, not speeding through them like there was a time limit." Of course, she didn't know too many people who would have picked up that specific book in the first place. Most people didn't think eighteenth century charms would be very useful now.

In response to his comment about Cale, she shrugged. "I don't have too much of a problem with him. I mean, as long as I don't get dragged into tense situations involving him again. I don't really see the point in that much drama happening around a person." Then she furrowed her brow, looking up at him curiously as he said he had been looking for her. "Yes . . . that is my name. So why exactly would you have felt you needed to look for me? And then stand there staring at me like you were testing how long it would take for me to notice. Cause that just makes me think you were stalking me more."

Nicholai looked up and flicked his eyes between Will, Anna and Cale, offering Anna a tentative smile before turning to Cale.

"What are you waiting for?" Nico actually managed to smile at Cale, "Take a copy and make your self useful. We actually made enough copies so you can have one of your very own you know." And Cale's involvement with the order stuff last year could only prove to be useful.

Biff did not understand while all the students near the bookshelves got quiet all of a sudden. First they argue, then they stop when other students get there. Must be some sort of strange game they play at Hogwarts. He did see a Gryffindor girl talking to a RavenClaw boy. " Hi, I am Biff, do you two kbow what is going on around here? he asked them. Meredith had finished her transfiguration homeworka nd walked out of the study area back to the shelves to put her book back and see if Barry and Via were still there.
Oh, no were had she gotten the book again? she couldn't remember which shelve. Then she spotted Via, who was still scanning the shelves. Huh? I thought she wasn't looking for anything..what had she said again why she was here? To keep her mind of something and to hide? She decided she'd ask again later.
"Hey again Via. I finished my homework. Did you find anything?"
Barry had appearantly left. Or had he? Meredith looked around and then saw him talk to a slytherin boy. They were looking at a group of other students who were gathered, but she had no idea what they were doing. Helping each other with homework perhaps? it didn't look like it.
She looked at the shelfs and then saw a little purple book and remembered where her book had been: right next to it. Meredith put the book back to were it had been.
