Anna raised her eyebrows at Evolette's first remark, almost as if she was saying, "Yeah, I know who you're talking about. So what. I'm still not going to verbally admit it." Anna didn't budge from the position she'd been in when she last spoke. She was still leaning against the statue, hands folded over her chest and smirk set in place, listening to Evolette's little spill.

Hmm...so she was going to get to hear about a mistake little miss "I Make Myself Out to be Prefect" had made. Hmpf. Should she feel privileged or something? Ehh, probably so. It wasn't often Evolette McKenna let a person in on her feelings and mistakes. That thought in mind, Anna allowed the smirk to leave her face, and she replaced it with a face that told she was listening wholeheartedly.

Anna fought the urge to roll her eyes at Evolette's first statement. So she met a boy. HA. Imagine that. It was probably even some other girl's boyfriend, too. Anna wouldn't put it past Evolette. Nevertheless, she listened anyway, her eyes narrowing gradually as she began to listen closer and closer...

When Evolette got the end of her story, Anna widened her eyes in disbelief. She even uncrossed her arms and pushed herself away from the statue once again. "Oh," was all she said at first. "Terry...Saunders?" Anna looked up at Evolette waiting for a confirmation. "I'm glad the two of you got a second chance, but...it's too bad it didn't work out. I wonder how he feels about you and Cale..."

"You know, Evolette," Anna began. "I understand what you're trying to say. Really, I do; but you need to really listen to your last piece of advice to me. I find it kind of odd that on one hand, you're encouraging me to stay here and fight for my ex-boyfriend, but on the other, you do realize that you're the reason I have to fight for him in the first place, right? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you are Cale's girlfriend now, right?" Anna tried to say all that in the politest manner possible, but she wasn't exactly sure if it came out that way or not. "It's just...you come here, bearing a gift for me, and then you tell me a really sad story that's supposed to make me change my mind and go running back to Cale begging for forgiveness, yet...in order for that to all happen, I have to end up breaking the two of you up. Maybe I'm missing something here, but can you tell me how all that is supposed to work, Evolette?"

"Yes, Terry Saunders, I take it that you know him?"

Evolette rolled her eyes, "Come on Anna, don't tell me that you actually believe the charade that Cale and I are putting on." She said, shaking her head, "Cale is not my boyfriend. Terry is."

"As horrible as I seem, and as awful as I know you think I am, I would never steal another girl's boyfriend. Especially when I have my own." She must be a better actress than she thought.

"You remember that day, when Cale saw you kissing the Hufflepuff prefect?" she asked, waving her hand in the air when she couldnt remember his name, that was not important at this time. "You should have seen his face. I thought he was going to go back down there and throw a couple of Unforgivables around."

"Us getting together was his idea, because quite frankly, he couldn't think of another girl that you hated more than me." She smirked a little at that thought.

"It's probably hard for you to grasp, but I actually felt bad for what I did, back in Diagon Alley, and I thought that maybe if I helped him get you back, that would sort of redeem me."

She turned her eyes and her smirk fell, "I don't ever admit when I am wrong, and trust me, I will never do this again, but, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for all of the rude things I said to you, and I am sorry for flirting with your boyfriend."

With that taken care of, it was time to get even more serious, "The question now is: Do you still love Cale?" she asked.

"I'm one of the two Gryffindor prefects. It's my job to know all of my housemates," Anna remarked, replying to Evolette's question about Terry Saunders. "However, I never knew that you two were dating. I have enough relationship problems to deal with without trying to keep a tally of all the Gryffindors and their relationships." Anna huffed out a sigh, blowing a small portion of her hair into the air. She then smoothed out her uniform skirt and took a seat at the base of the witch statue. Evolette sounded like she was about to launch into another speech.

Anna narrowed her eyes and jerked her head up in Evolette's direction when the Slytherin mentioned having her own boyfriend. Of course, she had her own boyfriend --- the boyfriend she stole from Anna.

Anna immediately shut her eyes, calmy cringing at the memory of kissing Seth Paton right in front of Cale Newell. Poor Cale. Anna really liked Seth, but kissing him the very next day after she and Cale had such a rock break-up had been a mistake. "Ouch," Anna mumbled, thinking about how much that kiss must have hurt Cale. "Evolette, I didn't mean to kiss Seth. I just saw you and Cale together, and the first thing that went through my mind was that I was not going to allow him to hurt me without him getting hurt, as well. I know that sounds bad, but Cale and I are both very strong-minded people. We don't take well to things like being one-upped by anyone, even one another. I---..."

Anna suddenly sat straight as a board and slammed the palms of her hands down. A few seconds later, when she was sure the shock of what she'd just heard wasn't going to cause her to stand up and spin out of control in dizziness, she shoved herself off the floor and walked right over to Evolette McKenna.

"Did you just--- you did! And he did!" Anna started yelling. She began to pace the floor right in front of Evolette, talking a million miles and minute about all the nasty hexes she was going to throw at the two of them as soon as she got her wand out of her trunk. "How could he?!?! How could YOUUUUU?!?!" Anna continued to exclaim.

Anna must have gone on and on and on for a good ten minutes, before she finally felt as if she'd hypervenilate from pacing and talking so much. At that point, she sat back down, immediately throwing her head into her hands and closing that big mouth of hers. She was quiet for another five or so minutes, until she finally looked back up at Evolette. Through the tears crashing down her face, she said, "You know what? For some reason, I forgive you. I do," Anna whispered. "I just...yeah, I do still love him. I never stopped loving him. The only thing is, I never once told him I loved him. Now I don't know if I ever will. He and I are not doing so well right now."

Evolette stood mutely as Anna reacted to the news. Anger, rage, denial. She ticked off the emotions in her mind, cooly, but not heartlessly watching as the girl infront of her teetered on the edge of a nervous break down.

The corner of her mouth turned up in some kind of smile when Anna said that she forgave her, she had no idea how good that that was going to feel. Forgiveness.

Wordlessly, Evolette walked over to where Anna was sitting and kneeled beside her, wrapping her arms around the crying girl and giving her a hug. It was an odd feeling, she was pretty sure that Anna was the only girl she had ever hugged before. "I'm sorry." she said again, "It was a terrible thing to do, but you have to know that I didn't do it to hurt you. Cale didn't do it to hurt you. He just wanted to get you back, and that was the only way we knew how."

She pulled away from Anna, dropping her hands into her lap and chewing on her lip, "I remember when Terry and I met up in Diagon Alley." she said softly, hoping that it would make the girl feel better, "It was hard to say the least, I was sure that he would never forgive me." She looked back to Anna and smiled, "But- it was worth it. I don't even want to begin to think about how terrible my life would be right now if I didn't have him."

She tucked her hair behind her ear, deciding that she was going to confide in her, once more, something that no one else knew about except herself. "I love him." she added, "And I believe that Cale loves you. He has to the way he's been acting. Don't you think that love deserves another chance? Even if it doesnt work out, you can't just go off to America and never know what could have been if you had just talked to Cale."

She had done a lot of talking, she noticed suddenly, she had not planned on saying this much, but she really wanted to help Anna and Cale. Probably too much.

Barry had heard something from upstairs he had rushed down to see what it was imediatly and had just reached the corridor and come to the statue he started "What o-" then he looked at who he was talking to Anna and Lette ugh wait hadn`t he tried to at least be nice to her yes he had even if she had said clearly she didn`t want to be freinds "Oh its you two um sorry I hope you`ll take my appolygies I didn`t mean to barge in I had ah just heard yelling" and he was ready to leave but curiousity got the better of him

Anna didn't even bother to flinch when she felt Evolette first kneel beside her then wrap her arms around her. Anna felt numb right now, almost as if she was unavailable to move or form words at all. She didn't really know if she could move right now, but it would be rude not to hug Evolette back after the way the girl had put her heart on the line. Anna leaned over and made an attempt to hug Evolette, and when she felt that her arms had actually gone around Evolette and that was actually hugging the girl, she started to feel a lot less numb and a little more...healed maybe?

"That's just it, though, Evolette," Anna said. "He hurt me so much! I hurt him so much! Sometimes there's damage done that just can't be erased. I can't sit here right now and promise you I'm going to head right up to the Common Room and make everything right with him, because I just don't know if it can be may right again. He and I have a lot of talking to do. A lot. We've both done things...possible unforgivable things...that we need to work through," Anna explained, the tears still streaming down her face.

Anna listened as Evolette told a little more about her relationship with Terry. Hearing Evolette speak, Anna made a decision, a very important one, one that could possibly save at least her friendship with Cale Newell. "Okay, okay. I'll stay. Evolette, the whole reason I was leaving, is because I love him, and it was too painful for me to see him with another girl. I just couldn't do it, so I figured that if he was happy with you, and I was miserable without him, he wouldn't care if I moved to American," Anna explained. "Well, apparently he does..."

"I'll owl my father and tell him to cancel his trip here," Anna said. "I'll go find Cale later on and tell him the same."

"Hey, Barry!" Anna greeted with a smile. "Listen, I'm in sort of an intense conversation, so I'm a little busy. We'll chat later, okay?" Anna hoped Barry would understand. She really didn't like too many people seeing her cry either.

Duh Barry understood that he listened to chunks of things Anna was saying to Lette it was very intresting what had Lette said. Barry said "Oh yeah ok bye" and walked off wanting to see Cale more then ever

Evolette shrugged, "I understand that. I know that just because things worked for me, doesn't mean that things will work for you. Merlin only knows if you two are going to end up together in the end." She brushed her hair off of her shoulder and offered a friendly smile.

"I just don't want you to give up, to not try because then nothing is sure to happen and you two will both remain miserable." Simple as.

Her smiled grew when Anna decided that she would stay. "Great!" she said, almost too happy with the news. Trying to regain her cool, she leaned back against the statue, "I mean, I hope you know that this doesn't mean we're like besties now or something." she added, smirking. She didn't mean it to be rude, but she sort of hoped that Anna would laugh.

"I know Cale is going to be ecstatic that you are staying." she added, "Even if he doesnt exactly let on, but then again, you know how men are." she added, with a roll of her eyes.

"Thanks, Barry!" Anna called out. "I'll see you around." She smiled and waved as she watched Barry walk out of sight. She then turned back to Evolette.

Anna nodded when Evolette indicated her understanding of the situation. "I'm really grateful for this talk we had, Evolette. Thank you for sharing your experiences with me. I promise that I won't tell a soul what you shared with me. Oh, and thank you for the chocolate frogs again, as well." She reached over and grabbed another of the precious candies, then held a separate frog out to Evolette. "Care for one?"

"I'm going to talk to Cale soon. Maybe tonight...definitely by tomorrow," Anna confirmed. "He and I have a lot to talk about. Even more than what's been discussed here today. I'm not sure where things may go from here, but I do know that he and I really should put aside all this unnecessary arguing and at least become friends again. I really do miss him..."

Anna softly laughed at Evolette's next statement. "No, no, Evolette. You don't have to worry about that as far as I'm concerned," Anna stated. "Besties? Nope. Not us! Oh, and hey! I won't even tell a soul that you have a soft side if you don't want me to," Anna teased.

"I just have one favor to ask of you. Let me be the one to tell him I'm staying, okay?" Anna asked. She hoped that Evolette would at least agree to this and allow Anna to be the one to share the...hopefully...good news with Cale.

"Sure." Evolette nodded and took the chocolate frog that Anna was handing to her. "No problem." she added, pulling at the wrapper with her fingertips, "I actually remembered hearing something about you liking chocolate frogs from Cale, and I thought they might make you more inclined to listen to me." she said with a chuckle.

Evolette smirked, she knew that there was no way that she could not consider Anna as a friend to her now, since she had told her so much, and it was surprisingly easy.

"I appreciate that. I do have a reputation to protect afterall." she replied, finally opening the wrapper to the chocolate frog, and placing a small piece in her mouth.

Brushing her hair back, she nodded, "Of course. That's the way it should be." she agreed. She was actually excited for Cale to hear the news.

It was now official. Evolette McKenna had gone soft.

Anna smiled as Evolette accepted the chocolate frog. It was the least Anna could do to thank her for not only the gift in the first place, but the conversation that had followed. "Really?" Anna asked. "He told you I loved chocolate frogs? Interesting... I didn't realize he still carried on casual conversation about my anymore." Anna wondered what else Cale had shared with Evolette. She didn't want to ask Evolette, though.

Anna nodded, still chewing on her chocolate frog. "But of course," she replied. "I have one to protect, as well, you see. Oh, and, I appreciate that you won't tell Cale before I have the chance to. So, erm, does he know you were considering telling me this?"

"Well, not so much as I sort of heard you two talking about it in Honeydukes the other day." Evolette admitted with a grin. "But he did talk about you. A LOT."

"He knows that I was against you leaving." she said quickly, wrinkling her nose as she tried to remember the day. "We were both quite shocked when you announced that. But as far as he knows, right now, I am in the Common Room talking to Hugo." she added, tossing Anna a mischievous smirk.

Anna laughed and then shook her head when Evolette mentioned overhearing she and Cale's Honeydukes conversation. "Well, no matter how you knew about my love for chocolate frogs, I'm just grateful for the gift." Anna smiled and then popped the remainder of her chocolate frog into her mouth. She should really save the rest of the candy for later, though. She closed the box and tucked it under her arm, all the while thinking about hwo Evolette had just said that Cale talked about her A LOT. Hmm...

"Oh, good thinking," Anna said, commenting on how Evolette led Cale to believe she was merely in the Common Room chatting away with Hugo. "Look, I'm going to head off and go try and find him. I'm really ready to get a few things out in the open with him. Once again, I appreciate everything, and yes, I'm still going to keep quiet about your soft side." Anna laughed once again and then added, "See you around, McKenna." Anna nodded in the Slytherin's direction before turning around and walking off down the corridor.

Evolette shrugged, "Yes, well, I suppose I am just terribly smart." she said cooly, a smirk on her lips again. Too bad she couldn't be a fly on the wall for that conversation. She was dying to see what happened. But she had played her part, now it was just time to sit back and watch.

"Good luck Greingoth." she said, with a nod, as Anna started off. Evolette stood, smoothing down her skirt and then proceeded in the opposite direction, to the Slytherin Common Room to see if Hugo had more chocolate.

Anna had just strolled back into the castle from out on the grounds, where she'd had a wonderful picnic with Nicholai Toussaint. It was the picnic that had caused her to finally fall for him; and just to think---all it took was one chocolate frog to make the magic happen. Anna's mind was swirling with thoughts of Nico. She hadn't noticed it before, but he had the dreamiest eyes and the silkiest brown hair. It all just made her want to...write a poem for him or something. Anna giggled at the thought and then continued down the third floor corridor, coming to a stop at that same witch statue she and Evolette had met at a few weeks ago.

Cale walked down the corridor on the third floor that he had only been down once this whole year. He had been on his way to the kitchens to see if Beezley was avaliable to chat sneak him food when he saw Anna ahead, staring at that statue of the Humpbacked Witch.

But something seemed off. She seemed confused, or lost, or just off in her own little world entirely, it was hard to figure out. She looked like she had just made some huge discovery as well, giving her just an overall weird vibe. Sneaking up behind her, he caught her in a hug and kissed her cheek from behind. "Hey there beautiful," he chuckled, grinning at her.

In her mind, Anna had just made it to the third line in her little poem about Nicky. Something about roses and pittering-pattering hearts and everything else that made her Nicky so wonderful in her eyes. She was about to start on the fourth line when, from out of nowhere, Cale snuck up behind her, hugging her and kissing her as a greeting. She turned around and smiled at him, too, her face giving off the impression that her mind was a million and one miles away.

"Oh, hey Caaaallllllllllllleeeeee!" she said, singing out the last word instead of saying it. "I've just returned from the most amazing date ever! There were chocolate frogs and...and...and...well, I don't remember much else, because I only ate a chocolate frog. Nicky brought it just for me, though! Wasn't that incredibly sweet of him?"

Cale blinked as Anna practically sang him a greeting, and then went off into her little rant about her great date with Nicky. Nicky? As in Nico Toussiant? Ewwww! She was supposed to go break off the date, not have a lovely, wonderful picnic with the guy.

Something about her still seemed off...maybe she was just playing with him? Hmm, that seemed right. Anna might have thought this was funny just to freak him about a bit. He grinned and shook his curly head. "Aww, come on, stop kidding with me Anna! So, how did he take it when you broke him the news about us?" he asked.

"Oh," Anna said, coming out of her little trance-like state for just a moment in time to answer his question. "I forgot to tell him, Cale. I started to tell him, but then... Oh! I know what happened. When I got there, he had prepared so many different types of food for us to eat. I felt absolutely horrible about breaking the news to him right away. He'd worked so hard. So I said I would try and enjoy the outing, give him the benefit of the doubt, and then I'd tell him."

"It didn't happen that way, though. Funny, but I can't remember much after that point. I do remember a chocolate frog. It was one of the best chocolate frogs I've ever had in my whole life! I know you're probably wondering how one specific frog can be better than another, but it's true. This one definitely was. It smelled like cake baking in the oven, freshly mown grass, and...Wonder Witch products," Anna explained. "...and, no, I don't actually believe the frog smelled that way. Nicky said it was the cake in the picnic basket, the smell of the grounds, and, well, I honestly thought you had come out there, as well for a little bit there. Nicky couldn't explain the last smell."

Cale stared at Anna wide eyed as she told him that she hadn't broken the news to Nico. What? Well, then, what was the point of even going down there? He wrinkled his eyebrows and crossed his arms, looking at her suspiciously. "Anna, this isn't funny anymore. What's going on?" he demanded.

He listened to her speak somewhere, his frown growing more prominant as she spoke. Geez, she was just in love with that chocolate frog, wasn't she? Must have been one hell of a chocolate frog for her to react this way. He listened to her talk some more, and his eyes slowly starting growing even wider.

Nico had given her the chocolate frog, and after that everything went blank...the frog smelled like cake, grass, and Wonder Witch products and as soon as she had smelled that, she thought that he, Cale, had entered the area but he hadn't...and who else in this school used Wonder Witch products besides him? Well, there were probably a few people but not any guys that Anna knew. As he looked at her more closely, he saw that she looked incredibly sickly and pale, and her eyes weren't focused at all.

Oh noes oh noes oh noes! Nico had given Anna a love potion!

It all clicked in his head and he started to panic. He had never dealt with a person who was drugged with love potion before--let alone a girlfriend drugged with love potion. As he started to freak out and worry about what he was gonna do to fix this, another emotion started to flood his every pore--anger. Anger at stupid, pompous, high and mighty Nicholai Toussiant. Who did he think he was, feeding a laced chocolate frog to HIS girlfriend? Had it even occurred to him the number of school rules he was breaking, and the danger he was putting Anna in letting her run amuck like this? Oh, that Slytherin was so dead! Forget the fact that Cale was a prefect and was probably NOT allowed to kill students--no, he would gladly throw his badge out the window if he could just get a shot at punching Nico right about now.

"Anna, listen to me, this is important!," he said, grabbing her by the shoulders and turning her to face him. "Can you remember anything about how Nico was acting before he gave you the frog? Did he seem pleased with himself, nervous, excited? And, more importantly, WHERE is the little snake right now?" he asked, practically growling out the last bit.

Anna smiled at Cale, giggled a little, and then twirled around three times in the corridor. She took in a deep breath and then it out slowly, giving the impression that she was sighing contentedly at something or another. When Cale spoke, she blinked and came out of her dream-like state once again. "I'm sorry, Cale. I didn't mean to start giggling. It's just...everything's coming up roses, wouldn't you agree?" she asked, twirling around two more times. Hmm...why was Cale getting so upset with her?

Suddenly, Cale was raising his voice and shaking her shoulders. He was clearly upset about something or another. Had her giggling upset him that much? "What, Cale? What's important?" Anna eyes, her eyes wide and alert and staring at him, waiting for him to explain himself. Hmm...what had Nicky been doing? "Oh, let's see...Nicky was sitting on this blanket with a huge basket of food---just for me! Can you believe it? It was all for me?"

Anna suddenly gasped and her face lit up. She'd obviously recalled something she'd forgotten before. "His lip! His lip was all bloody like he'd been in a fight, I remember that the bloody lip was the reason I didn't just explain to him what happened with you and I and then leave," Anna said. "He never did tell me about the lip, though. He just shrugged it off and then went on saying something about Slytherin's clues to the treasure. After that, he told me to take a look in the basket. There was a lot of food in there, but of course I zoomed in on the frog right away. It was on top, after all. After that, Nico said he had to go. It all happened really quickly."

Cale sighed and let go of her, shaking his head. Nico having a bloody lip didn't help the matter at all--all that it proved was that some guy had finally given Nico something he had had coming to him a long time. Sigh. How he envied that guy!

And the frog was right on top--of course, that made sense. She DID love the frogs, after all, it would be the perfect trap for her. And he set it right on top to make sure she didn't miss it. He shook his head again. "You have no idea where he went?" he asked her again. Oh how he wanted to get his hands on that traitor before a professor did.

Now he was faced with a difficult problem...dealing with Anna. He wasn't about to let her wander the school going on about roses and frogs and Nicky, not in her current state. But he wasn't sure who he should go to first, and which professor would be safest. He could always take her to Trelawney, but after Anna's last meeting with her he doubted she would be safe there. Besides, some part of his brain was warning him not to go there right now--he wasn't sure why but for some reason, as he toyed with the idea of taking her to the intern, he got a funny feeling in his stomach and he moved on to the next professor. Maybe Caleum would be alright...

"Maybe we should get you out of here," he mumbled, grabbing her hand.

Anna was so fast! He had almost lost her as he um happened to be going the same direction well thats what he would say if anyone saw him following Anna from the lake. Ah a statue! Perfect place to hide! He hid behind it and waited for um something? Some information! Why was Anna so dreamy? These were the answers he wanted.

"You know," Anna said, twirling around three more times the second he let go of her. "Nicky was still down at the lake when I left to come here. He said he had to go, so I left, too. I was wandering around here when you found me. I think I was heading back up to the Common Room, but come to think of it now, I'm not really sure where I was heading. Funny, huh?"

Anna blinked and wrinkled her brows when Cale told her they should leave. "Really? Why?" Anna asked, giggling for no apparent reason at her own question. Nothing was funny at all, and even Anna knew that, but for some reason she just felt like giggling.

"I looooove chocolate frogs, Cale. Did you know that?" she asked, getting a dreamy look on her face once again. "They smell like Wonder Witch products! ...and THAT is one of my favorite smells ever!" Anna twirled two more times, and on the last attempt, she twirled right into Cale, falling into him and giggling at how clumsy she'd been. "Oops! Silly me! I'm just too giddy for my own good!" she exclaimed, taking in a deep sigh and letting it out slowly.

"Yeah, hilarious," Cale mumbled, sighing and shaking his head. He had to think of something to do. He couldn't let Anna wander around like this until the potion wore off--who knew when that would be? How in the world did Nico get a potion in the first place?

He groaned and pushed some curls out of his eyes. It was so hard to think with her twirling around like that! Closing his eyes and leaned against the statue, he tried to think. He doubted that the professor had love potion just lying around in the potions classroom, so Nico would have had to break into the classroom to get it. Unless he got it from somewhere else...since love potions were illegal anyways, he figured the professor wouldn't have them in his room anyways.

Suddenly, it hit him like the force of a speeding Hippogriff. OF COURSE! Why didn't he see it before? The world's most notorious user of love potions was right there under the roof of Hogwarts! Not to mention she had already tried to convince Anna to not go back with Cale and basically ruin his whole life while ripping his heart out of his chest and smearing it all over the wall. Of course! It all fit together! He could just see her calling Nico, a well respected Slytherin, of course, into her office and convincing him to sneak Anna some love potion in a chocolate frog. Geez, some staff member--she came in, tried to bring down the male Gryffindor prefect, and then gave a student illegal potios. Nice, very professional.

He needed a bit more proof, but he knew exactly where he could find someone to be a viable witness. They were probably right up there in the Gryffindor Common Room as he thought about this.

His thoughts were jumbled as Anna twirled right into him, giggly and smiley and just looking quite off her rocker. "Yeah, right...listen, we've got to run to the Gryffindor Common Room really quick, and then we need to make a stop at another office," he explained to her, grabbing her wrist. "Now let's go before you do something stupid like jump out a window cause you think you can fly or something."

And with that, he turned and lead her down the hall at fast pace, disappearing from sight.
