A movement caught her attention, and she automatically glanced at it from the side of her eye, the chocolate orbs guarded and cautious. Once she'd realised it was only a first yet she'd met in the Leaky Cauldron a few times, Kairi, she took a deep breath and relaxed herself.

'Hey, Kairi,' she called, as she stood and made her way past the few people between them. Slipping into the seat opposite, she wiped at her forehead for a moment, hoping to pass the movement off as moving her fringe out of her eyes again, when in reality she was wiping the nervous sweat she had off. 'How are you?'

"Tell me about it," Kairi said, rolling her eyes. "Anyway," she said, taking a deep breath, "Now all are clumsy little antics are over, we shall be talking about civalised things, shall we not, Miss Phoenix?" Kairi asked, once again in her fake posh voice. She grinned and then returned to her normal voice. "So, how's things at home?" Kairi asked curiously. Her own father had recently taken to hurting her too, something Phoenix's father did also. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, I don't even know why I brought it up," she said shrugging. "It's probably because my bruise began to ache," she said, showing Phoenix her wrist that had an oddly purple bracelet on it.

"M'ok," Kairi said, smiling at her. "What about you? How do you feel about being sorted into Hufflepuff? I'm not actually in Hufflepuff, I'm Gryffindor, but I came over here to say hi to my friend, Phoenix," she said, indicating to Phoenix, who she was also talking to.

Smiling at the girl - Phoenix - that Kairi introduced, Mina shrugged. 'I've been better. It's kinda . . . gloomy around the house, and I suppose it sort of gets to you after a while,' she said, nonchalantly. She wasn't pleased that the mood had gotten to her; why should she care who left and who stayed in England?

'Well, Jake won't be too pleased, but I don't really mind Hufflepuff. It's a house. That's the most I can ask.' She half-smiled in amusement. 'How's Gryffindor?'

"Gryffindor? It's great, so far..." Kairi grinned, "I've made a couple of friends already, and met a few people who I met in Diagon Alley, but I am definitely gonna miss you guys," she said, giving Mina a small smile. "It'll be weird not seeing you as much,"

'Eh.' Mina shrugged again. 'You'll get used to it. Promise.' She grinned. 'And if you don't, simple solution; spend as much time out of Gryffindor common room as possible.'

Mina herself, however, knew she'd struggle to escape every now and then - as if in reflex, she glanced up and down the table for any sign of Cully. She let out a small sigh when she realised the older girl wasn't sat at the table yet. It would be annoying, being in her house.

'Anyway, take this.' She fiddled around in her pocket for a moment, before pulling out a small charm she'd been given when she was a baby. It wasn't particularly valuable; it was basically a silver star that had been cut slightly crudely. 'I don't need it. I wasn't particularly fond of it, really. And it'll help you remember those of us not in your house.' She reached out to grab Kairi's hand carefully and placed it on her palm.

"Thanks," Kairi said, closing her hand around the charm. When she opened her hand again, it had disappeared. She grinned, "Don't worry," she said. She held up her wrist where her charm bracelet always stood, and on it was Mina's charm. Next to it was a lion, that had magically appeared there when she had been sorted, and an eye made out of a purple dimond she'd recieved on her fourth birthday from an unkowable source.

Ella shooke her head. Poor boy, how he could be survive without proper friends and siblings?!!! "I understand. You know I'm one among five children of my parents, and it's been fun always tobe with my sisters." she said, reminds of her sisters back home. she let out a sigh. "Are you brilliant in games?" she asked and noticed that he got some other first years to talk with side by side.

He smiled as Ella told of her family. He might miss it, but he had nothing to compare it to. He never really cared about being an only child. It allowed him to have all the things he wanted and he was largely left alone.

He shrugged. "I don't know. I mostly just read. Don't play many games."

"Oh.." Hailey said as she looked from Dominic to the other boy, they both seemed rather frustrated, which didnt really surprise Hailey. From the moment she met Dominic he always seemed really quite rude. So instead of getting mad at him and accusing him for his rudeness she simply shrugged it off. "Ok. Well See yah around Dominic!" She continued to sound cheerful, she wasnt going to let him ruin her first day her.



As Hailey stood there looking around some girl a little ways away from Hailey was calling her to go sit with them. A much bigger smile grew on Hailey face as she got up and walked over there, though she turned around for a moment and glared at Dominic before she sat down with the other girls.

"Some boys.. They can just be soo rude!" Hailey said to the girls as she sat down. Though she looked angry for a second it seemed to disappear the second it came and she was smiling cheerfully again. "Hi!" She said happily.

"I'm Hailey.. Hailey-Kai Heavens." She said, introducing herself.

Pheonix looked at her surprised when she saw Kairi's wrist, then shrugged. 'My mum's kicked my dad out and I'm living with my Uncle Sam, which I'm enjoying immensly at the moment. Mum needed a bit of space after all what's happened between them, so I went to stay with him.' she said. 'What about you?'

Pheonix returned Mina's...was that her name? smile and gave a shy 'Hi' Wow, Kairi seemed to know everyone here.

"Mina, this is Phoenix, Phoenix, this is Mina," Kairi said with a smile.

'No problem. Aunt Sal gave it me when I turned one. Trust me; Sal is useless with anything that doesn't include cars.' She chuckled, before admiring the charms already on Kairi's bracelet. 'Nice.'

She toyed with her own bracelet beneath the table, toying with the small heart-shaped locket that had originally belonged on a necklace.

'Anyway. How are things with your dad?'

'Nice to meet you, Phoenix.'

"Not good, I'm afraid," Kairi said with a sigh. "He drunk a bit too much last night and...well..." She showed Mina and Phoenix a bruise on her arm.

occ: got to go and have dinner, be back on in half an hour, hopefully

'Nice to meet you too Mina.' Pheonix replied.

'Same with my dad, he drinks too much, gets violent and hits me, except he aims for the face.' Pheonix swept back her fringe to show the still remaining bruise on her face.

Kairi winced. It was only a little bit better than it had been at the Leaky Cauldron when they'd first met.

Mina winced. Suddenly she wasn't cursing her father quite so much for sending her here - at least Toya had never beaten her in any form. Something she was grateful for - had Toya hit her, she'd have moved out years ago and probably been with her mother that time -

She stopped that thought where it was. 'I'm sorry for both of you,' she whispered, her voice tight and her eyes guarded as she kept the emotion from the errant thought from showing on her face.

Penny smiled at Lima's comment. "You know, that sounds like Mads." she said. Penny thought for a few seconds. "Hey can you show me the room some time?" she asked Lima.

Penny smiled at Mads. "I will try." she told him. Ever since the incedent at Durmstrang her temper has had a very short fuse. Hopefully being here and having Mads back it will get better.

She laughed slightly. "Yeah, for sure. He's such a guy... And sure I can show you later." She shrugged. Just don't think you can try anything, Missy...

Penny nodded what Lima agreed. "Awesome." she said. Penny thought for a few more minutes. "So what else goes on around here?" she asked Lima.

Miles had had enough of his table, the green making him feel a tad sick, and watching everyone stuff their faces, like Slytherins did, made him lose his appetite. He would leave his bad mood there, only Hugo and Evolette were at his own house table, and it's not like they would notice that they had gone. Sigh.


So, instead, he went over to the Hufflepuff table. He had a few friends in Hufflepuff, and a girlfriend. He spotted Lima, the sneakeh one. She looked tired though, slumped on the shoulder of her possible boyfriend.
He sat down beside her, and smiled casually at her boyfriend, who seemed to be in coversation with other people. Miles gently nudged Lima, hoping he wouldn't startle her. "Lima?" He whispered.

She thought for a moment than said. "It's probably not too different than Durmstrangs... You have the classes of course, but then there are just the normal hangouts. The Lake and Pathways are pretty popular. And then there are gardens and such as well."

Lima was drifting off into a nice dream when she was nudged again. "I mean it Mads! I want to sleep!" She opened her eyes for a moment and saw that instead of Mads, it was someone else. She jumped up. "Miles! You startled me!" She started to smile. "Boy am I glad to see you again..." The last time they had talked they had been interrupted by... Well, it had been just weird. She gave him a hug.

"It's ok," Kairi said, giving Mina a small smile. "You sought of get used to the pain after the while," Kairi picked up a chip from the Hufflepuff table and popped it into her mouth. She felt it was time to change the subject so she said the first thing that came into her mind: "Do you guys like marshmellows?"

Penny nodded. "Ah ok." she said. Penny was going to have to go walk around and get to know the place. She hated starting new schools. Having to start over was such a pain.

She cleared her throat uncomfortably. "So, um, what Year are you in?" she asked casually. She still didn't trust Penny, but she was trying to at least talk to her a bit.
