After your journey through a door to the right of the main staircase in the Entrance Hall and down a staircase there, you find yourself standing before a still life painting. Upon giving the correct password, you are allowed access to a warm, welcoming underground room, decorated in the Hufflepuff house colours. Gathered around the large fireplace are several oversized and overfilled plump sofas, which resemble fluffy clouds, and a variety of comfortable armchairs scattered around for you to rest your weary bodies in.

A long table sits in the brightest part of the room (torches are lit all day long) for the students who would rather do their homework in here than in their dormitories or the library.

Portraits of past well-known Hufflepuffs hang on one wall, among them are Cedric Diggory and Nymphadora Tonks, who died in the dark days of You-Know-Who's power, as well as the Fat Friar. Remember and honour them as you walk to or from your dormitories.

Two perfectly round, barrel top doors are positioned on opposing sides of the common room. They both open to reveal underground tunnels which will lead you to your common rooms; boys on the right, girls on the left.

Lima just shook her head at the first comment that he made; she wasn't going to take the bait this time. She just held her tongue and glared at him.

She then proceeded to roll her eyes at him as he talked to Vannah. How could he think that he was not being rude? You started it buddy...

She was surprised when he then asked her if she was willing to start this whole thing all over again. Slightly confused at this behaviour she said, "no problem, Dom."

Professor Shackleton trusts my judgement, and I'm sure if I told her of this and suggested house points being taken away it could be arranged; You do NOT bring a wand into this sort of situation, Maddox - You may have been trying to 'protect' Whigalima but she's a big girl and can take care of herself, he wasn't hurting her. Next time don't make the matter worse than it really is, because that's exactily what happened when you overreacted." Savannah was now scolding them, knowing fully well she was. She did infact believe they deserved this, especially because she wasn't taking it to a higher authority. "No name calling, and knock off the looks" She added slightly snappish, growing impatient with how childish this was, and they were being.

"You-" Turning to point to her cousin, Savannah went on "As I told Maddox, you are a big girl Lima and should have handled that ALOT better than you did. Dominic isn't going to hurt you, and you should know that. If he's really truly harrassing you - which from what I just heard he wasn't, - then you take it to a Prefect or Professor! I want you all to know how incredibly childish this is, I expect more out of my fellow Hufflepuffs, and I'm sure the rest of our house does too!"

"It is entirely normal for students of the same house, or any other house for that matter, to talk. If Lima didn't want to talk to Dominic, Lima shouldn't have called him over in the first place." Finally taking a moment to pause, Savannah hoped this was all sinking in because if this happened again she wasn't letting them off with a warning - a Professor would be involved. She did not tolerate wands being drawn to conflict harm on another! "Dominic, you need to be a little more respectful towards your peers.. treat others how you wish to be treated; If your rude or 'testy' with someone, you can't very well expect them to act any different with you."

Maddox sighed. He was being childish, but this Dom kid was being very rude to Lima, and he didnt like that. But savannah was right. He put his wand away and said, "Yes Vannah, I am sorry for causeing a disturbance. I am not in the best mood, and anyone or anything can cause me to act to hasty. Especially when they are rude to my girlfriend. Please forgive me?" Maddox grinned at vannah. She was the only cousin of lima's that he actually liked.

She really wanted to stick up for Mads, but she knew that that wouldn't really help. The excuses wouldn't work on her cousin.

Maddox smiled and said, "Thank you for that." He poked her nose and chuckled a little.

Maddox winked at her and mouthed 'thank you.' It was important that he and Kayla had this conversation. He needed to know what was going on, and to se if he could help.

Watching the Prefect was intense; he was sure he was going to get in trouble, as it seemed Mads - no was it Maddox? Whatever his face was - and Lima banded together against his story. But thankfully, Savannah was fair and true to both sides; a true badger, perhaps? Dominic couldn't help but smirk when she told Mads ~~or Maddox~~ to put his wand away; no matter what the outcome, at least that part, he was right about. Professor Shackleton? Oh that name sounded familiar... right, Arithmancy Professor and Head of House. But she wouldn't dare suggest points being taken away from her own house, would she?! Gulping nervously, he glanced at the three older badgers.

Ah. She was scolding them! Well mostly Mads for his wand and namecalling; pfft, he totally knew that it was childish to call someone names too.

And then she addressed Lima and told her that he wasn't going to hurt her; that part was true. Even in all his unplanned scheming, he had never intended to hurt her or anyone. He nodded at Savannah's words towards Lima, in complete agreement with her words. Her quite mature words at that too...

And then she finally turned to him again and addressed his rudeness factor. Oops! So perhaps he had been a bit rude, even though he didn't think he was anymore rude than she was. But after this, he wasn't about to argue again. Gulping once more, he sighed before speaking. "I didn't think I was that rude, but obviously, as I've learned in the few weeks since being here, people's perceptions of you are vastly different from what you think."

With that, the fourth year turned reluctantly to Lima when she said it won't happen again. "Lima?" he asked, unsure if he should say this. "Can we start our meeting over?" There was absolutely no way he was going to make the same arrangement for wand boy though!

Maddox just kept his mought shut. He was surprised at how quickly the kid had backed down when Vannah started in on him. He grinned a little, but didnt say a word.

I'll talk to you later" Kayla turned to head up to the dormitory but before she had taken a step, she turned and looked over her shoulder. "Thanks for listening Maddox, it really means a lot" with that said she made her exit from the common room.

Maddox chuckled a little, he could hear the sarcasim in Kayla's voice. But he didnt reply to her remark.

Maddox smiled and said, "Well, if its important enough to tell you i will. Nico doesnt always know whats best. Besides, if it would help you both, its important, no matter what he says." Noticing that some kid was messing with lima he glared a little.

Mads smiled and said, "I know i have a rough exterior, but thats only an act. I am a very good listener, and friend. It took a while with nico but, I'm glad we are friends. Even though it took a duel." He chuckled, "But i have no problem helping people." especially when one of my friends is in love with the person that needs help, he thought to himself. He wanted to help Nico, and in the same instant he wanted to help Kayla. He was however planning to help them both. "Talk to you later Kayla." He smiled and said, "Your welcome, any time...what are friends for?" He winked at her, then stood, and headed towards lima.

"I guess no matter how hard you look young teenagers aren't exactly gentlemen or young proper lady's.." she mumbled ot herself. She didn't know Lima so well, in fact the first time she had seen her there was a conflict going on. Lima and Penny and Max were involved but thankfully they were able to settle it like adults instead of anything else. She knew that no one was to blame, but things always got out of hand.

MJ looked at Penny and saw that she too was probably thinking the same thing. Trying to prevent any damage done to anyone but as soon a she was trying to take action she saw that Savannah was in and she would probably get things settled down.

Isn't the best way to handle things? This wasn't the way to handle things AT ALL. Savannah thought, purposely keeping that from coming out of her mouth. She had already lectured them probably more than she should have and amazingly, they were behaving now! "That's no excuse Lima, your a sixth year - almost at legal adult age" She shook her head, dismissing what she said for the sake of not starting again. "Good, I'm holding each of you to that." Savannah added as soon as 'this won't happen again' was uttered.

Savannah frowned slightly, begining to feel rather guilty for what she had said to Dominic about his suggestion as to which Professor to bring into the mess, which was now cleared up. "Look.. I apologize for that; I didn't mean to make it seem as though I don't appreciate your suggestion, it's just I've had students in the past requesting I take them to see a certain Professor and it gets old." She explained truthfully, an apologetic look on her face.

As Maddox spoke up, once again her gaze turned on him. Arms still folded over the books she held against her stomach, though obviously not in a moody sort of way. "I understand not being in a great mood, but control your temper Maddox. Besides Professors, younger students generally look up to the older students. And that behavior is not setting a good example." Savannah was not lecturing him this time, her tone was gentle and not forced from keeping annoyance or disappointment at bay. Resisting rolling her eyes at him asking for forgiveness, as if she would personally hold this against him, the brunette smiled a little "Yes, I forgive you."

And now, this being most to her surprise, Dominic and Lima were starting over on a better foot. The smile playing on her lips grew abit wider, very pleased with this quick turn around. Maybe they listened to her so well, compared to others, because she was there female Prefect. Eitherway, she was happy. "Now that is what I like to see. For what it's worth, I'm proud of you guys" Savannah admitted, not sure she would regret saying this later or not.

Christine sat watching Dominic getting into a spat with some older girl and the guy Christine asked about quidditch. She saw the prefect get into the situation also. Great Christine thought. The way this was going Hufflepuff was going to lose some house points. Christine continued to sit in her chair and watch what was going on.

Diana came into the common room to watch Christine sitting and thinking something,gazing into the fight scene going on.She sat down,and waved a hand in front of her eyes.

Dominic wasn't really sure what made him change his view, but right now he was attributing it to Kaika's good will. Perhaps the saying is right; one good deed can cause another ... or something like that anyway. Though a small part of the Hufflepuff wanted to agree to that, he knew that this situation was only temporary. He'd revert to his old self soon and then back again in a circle, enough for people to think he was mental most likely.

Looking up from his own thoughts, he heard Lima - aka the blond girl - say no problem, Dom. But an idea crept along as he shook his head slightly. They didn't know each other, right? So er.. how were they supposed to meet again? Ah right, names. "Good evening miss... You looked quite unfamiliar to me from across the room. Dominic is my name, pleasure to meet your acquaintance," he inclined his head, proud that his proper upbringing had been retained some.

But the fourth year abruptly stood up from his 'properness' as he heard the other guy speaking about being rude to his girlfriend. Oh man, that guy was worse than him! Shaking his head, he could have sworn he saw the guy grimace when he backed down, something he did for the sake of others, not himself. Giving the guy a brief glare, he turned away before anyone could see or he would say something irrational.

Dominic looked over towards Savannah, to see her frowning and feeling guilty ultimately. Oh. Now she made him feel guilty for requesting to see a certain professor... And wait, apparently she's dealt with these conflicts before? Hmm, well she did say she was a sixth year, if he remembered correctly. Gulping nervously, he blinked at her. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make it seem like the other students you've dealt with in the past."

Then she spoke to Maddox briefly, before turning back to him and Lima, who had decided to start over. On his idea of course... (*wink*) Oh of course she was proud of them, but instead of replying back, he just nodded in her direction before turning back to Lima. Perhaps he would ask her later ...

Until he heard Lima starting up again with fighting fire with fire. Huh? he didn't get these metaphors, but ignored it, as it wasn't directed at him. This seemed like it was now between the prefect and Lima, but perhaps he ought to remove one from the situation? Lima wouldn't go... so that left one other...

Maddox smiled and said, "Yes ma'am miss prefect ma'am. I really am sorry. It wont happen again." When she smiled and said he was forgiven he smiled a big smile and said, "Thank you Vannah." He gave her a big hug then stood by Lima.

As Christine continued to watch what was going on in the common room, she saw a hand cross in front of her face. She turned to see who was trying to get her attention. Oh, hey Diana. How's it going? She asked Diana. She hadn't seen Diana in a while and last time she saw her she seemed to be down. Christine's mouth dropped down when she head Dominic being polite. Wow she thought. Dominic is being polite, and to a girl. He must have lost a bet Christine thought with a small laugh escaping her lips. Christine bit down on her lip to quiet herself. Christine leaned towards Diana and whispered to her This is really interesting she said pointing to the fight going on. This might actually change my opinion of him she told Diana sneaking a quick glance at Dominic.

Savannah forced herself not to shake her head, dismissing Lima's attitude was both easy and hard. She was trying to be understanding, her cousin had been this way ever since summer. Yet it was getting old, quickly. "Whigalima, I know you were taught and understand as well as I do that fighting fire with fire only causes a bigger forest fire. I'll stop lecturing you when you can be the nice, kind girl I know you really are and stop with the attitude." was the simplest thing she could muster that got her point across, without being overboard and still feel alittle better about getting it off her chest.

Ah, now the younger boy was apologizing! While that was sweet, she wished he didn't. He hadn't done anything wrong, not really.. her judgement on Dominic kept changing, first he was quiet then he was moody and causing trouble. Now she was begining to think he was just your average, slightly moody, teenage boy. He was capable of being sweet and polite, it seemed atleast. "You don't need to apologize" Savannah smiled softly, shaking her head a little. "You didn't do it intentionally, I know that."

"I know, it's okay" Savannah assured, being pulled into a hug by Maddox. She sincerely believed him for being sorry, and could only hope it wouldn't happen again. Honestly having to deal with her house mates not getting along felt extremely unusual to her, she had never delt or been around such maddness. The idea alone was insane! "Your welcome."

Glancing between the three, the brunette went to step forward planning to go around them but halted all together. OH! Shifting through the books in her arms, Savannah sighed and shoved them into her bag after getting it open. "I've forgot my Arithmancy Journal in the library," She announced, more to herself than anyone else. "Be good, I'll know if you haven't" Warning her house mates this time, she turned and headed back out through the portrait door that kindly moved out of her way as soon as she approached.

Penny nodded when MJ said that all she was concerned with was trying to get out. "Honestly, I dont blame you." She said.

When Penny sat down, she looked at MJ, "Sorry." she said with a blush. She was going to step in if things got bad. She did not mean to interupt MJ.

MJ looked at Penny and smiled. "Thanks," she told her and smiled. "Why are you sorry?" she asked and looked confused.

She looked at Penny who was red but wondered what had just occurred. She was glad that things had settled down with the other students and she was still confused why Penny had apologized.

MJ took in a deep breath and thought for a while. As soon a she realized one simple thing about the young girl MJ's eyes widened and she took out her wand from her boot. "Accio album!" she said.

Dominic looked over towards Savannah, to see her frowning and feeling guilty ultimately. Oh. Now she made him feel guilty for requesting to see a certain professor... And wait, apparently she's dealt with these conflicts before? Hmm, well she did say she was a sixth year, if he remembered correctly. Gulping nervously, he blinked at her. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make it seem like the other students you've dealt with in the past."

Then she spoke to Maddox briefly, before turning back to him and Lima, who had decided to start over. On his idea of course... (*wink*) Oh of course she was proud of them, but instead of replying back, he just nodded in her direction before turning back to Lima. Perhaps he would ask her later ...

Until he heard Lima starting up again with fighting fire with fire. Huh? he didn't get these metaphors, but ignored it, as it wasn't directed at him. This seemed like it was now between the prefect and Lima, but perhaps he ought to remove one from the situation? Lima wouldn't go... so that left one other...

She just blinked at him. That was the politest anyone had been towards her in ages. And it was weird. Especially coming from him.

Still slightly surprised she said, "good evening Sir. Nice to meet you. My name is Lima. What could I do for you, Dom?" She smiled at him. And it was a genuine smile too.

Honestly having to deal with her house mates not getting along felt extremely unusual to her, she had never delt or been around such maddness. The idea alone was insane! "Your welcome."

Glancing between the three, the brunette went to step forward planning to go around them but halted all together. OH! Shifting through the books in her arms, Savannah sighed and shoved them into her bag after getting it open. "I've forgot my Arithmancy Journal in the library," She announced, more to herself than anyone else. "Be good, I'll know if you haven't" Warning her house mates this time, she turned and headed back out through the portrait door that kindly moved out of her way as soon as she approached.

When Vannah started to lecture her more about her attitude, she knew that the girl was right; she always knew that, but never really let it sink in properly. She had been moody and snapish lately, and it wasn't fair. Especially to her loved ones. Blushing she looked down at her feet. "You're right, Vannah. I'm really sorry. I didn't mean that. Can you forgive me?" She felt so bad now.

Mari entered the common room feeling her eyes almost closing. She had had one tough day. Tossing her bag in a chair she sat next to it feeling a little bit grumpy at no one in particular, the amount of homework, the whole stress of classes and her little secrets were staring to get to her nerves. She closed her eyes trying to concentrate on something somewhat relaxing. She took a quill and perchmente and started writting, just for the fun of it.

Well Christine started as she moved closer to Diana so that she could hear her Dominic has a tendency to be, well sort of rude, and he was being true to himself a few minutes ago, but now he is being polite. I'm thinking he must be impurised. So I'm watching to see if its just a momentary thing, or if he really is going to start being nice now. Christine sighed and looked back at Dominic. Christine didn't really have a problem with Dominic. There was something about his confidence in himself that Christine liked. But when she talked to him, he would put off this feeling as if he didn't want to be bothered by her. That is why she didn't say a lot to him. Christine started to twist a piece of her hair in her hands as she thought of how things would be if he gave her the time of day.

Dominic sighed quietly once more, awaiting for Savannah to finish with Lima. It wasn't long of a wait, but long enough for the fourth year to want to leave already. And then the sixth year prefect finally addressed him, telling him he didn't need to apologize? Oh dear. Gulping nervously, he forced his hands into his pockets as he looked at her. She probably already did think he was mental!

But before he could reply to her, she suddenly had to leave to get her journal from the library. At least that was her story... Not really wanting to go to the library himself, he decided maybe he'd just leave of his own and meet up with her in a corridor someplace.

Dominic flitted his eyes back from the portrait door as it closed behind the prefect and over towards Lima once more. "Pleasure to meet you, Lima," he replied, realizing he didn't like this talk. It was too formal for him; no wonder he didn't do it often. His thoughts flashed back to the Potions Professor and then to the present once more. "Nothing. Just wanted to say hi, but I've forgotten that I have some work to catch up on. See you later!"

Starting towards the exit of the common room, the badger stopped at the sound of a familiar voice. Christine's voice. She was talking low, so he had to strain to hear her, but the mention of his name made it easier to focus. Dominic has a tendency to be, well sort of rude, and he was being true to himself a few minutes ago, but now he is being polite. I'm thinking he must be impurised. So I'm watching to see if its just a momentary thing, or if he really is going to start being nice now. Oh yes, she definitely had a thing for him. Who didn't? Nonetheless, she had to know he didn't care much for the female population just yet; thought they were annoying...

But something was pulling on him to say something to her. And he did. "Evening Christine," he said out-of-the-blue, before his eyes noticed where his feet were directed again. Right, he couldn't have delays. "Sorry can't talk. See you later."

With that, the fourth year boy exited the common room through the portrait door, that opened as he approached it.

Diana listened to Christine and smiled to herself.She knew a number of boys(her old friends) who were just like Dominic.Then she saddened a bit,to remember her friends.She said quietly,"I have experience of thse kinds of people.After all many of my old friends were like them",she looked away,as visions of her old friends and their childhood days went past her eyes.She closed her eyes,and then opening them after a while,she said"Sorry!I was a little carried-away.Anyways how's your study going?Happy here?"She changed the topic on purpose as she had heard Dominic talking to Christine.

Maddox immediately stop playing with her hair because he knew where it would lead. But he smiled and said, "Thank you for that. And i pride myself on being a nerd. Nerds are sexy." He chuckled, and wiggled his eyebrows at her. From his physical exterior, he was NOT a nerd, but mentally, he was very very smart.
