Ahh finally she had spotted the famous house hourglasses that determined who had won the house cup at the end of the year. Gryffindor up by 7 points. Yes! How was Slytherin down my 20? Classes havent even started yet.....

Looking up at the hourglasses,Sarah was intrigued.
So if we do something good it goes up...and if we do something bad it goes down..right? she thought to herself.

She could see that Gryffindor already had 7 points,Ravenclaw none and Slytherin -10.
Her gaze then drifted onto her own houses' hourglass...."What?!" she stammered. "We are down to -10 already? What could have happened to have caused that? Someone must have been misbehaving,classes don't start yet."
Sighing and shaking her head she stood,stunned and rooted to the spot.
I guess I'm going to have to work harder to help get that back up, she thought.

Xehanna walked into the hourglass area and looked at the hourglasses. she sat there and imagined ways she could get points back and have pretty emerald diamonds in hers. that way she could sketch then without it looking empty. she sat there for awhile.

Mariel was walking.. to where she didn't know. Still trying to figure out her way around the castle, she guessed. As she came across the house point hourglasses, she stopped, intrigued. Interesting. Slytherin and Hufflepuff in the negative. Isn't that a shame, she thought sarcastically as she smirked. She frowned a bit at the empty one marked for Ravenclaw. That'll have to change.

Patty had struggled to find her way around the school and finally ended up here. Coming to stand next to Mariel, she looked at hourglasses, enthralled by what she saw. But the Ravenclaw one was empty! "Hi Mariel! How come ours doesn't have anything in it?" she asked with curiosity, maybe Mariel could explain it to her.

Mariel was snapped out of her reverie at the sound of her name. "Oh, hey, Patty," she said turning towards her. "No one earned any points for Ravenclaw yet. You get points in class, Quidditch.. I think, and just generally doing good things. You lose them for doing something bad. It's still the beginning of the term, so it's not that surprising that we don't have any points, but I do find it interesting that certain houses are already in the negative... don't you?" she drawled, resuming her smirk.

Patty blinked up at the hourglasses again, and noticed what Mariel had pointed out. "That's true... how can you get into negative when classes have barely begun? You'd think that getting into trouble was a status symbol for some... but couldn't they at least wait till classes were truly under way? How are they going to do once in class and need points to bring their House numbers up?" So many questions came to mind, but Patty kept quiet about it, but looked up to Mariel for a few answers.

Mariel shrugged as she laughed a bit derisively. "It actually doesn't matter to me as long as it's not Ravenclaw. The others can stay in the negative for all I care." Mariel waved as she walked away "I'm off, see you."

Patty waved back as Mariel left, "Oh..." she said in a small voice, mostly to herself. She looked back to the hourglasses, finding them quite pretty, even if some were in negative at the moment. Thinking back to what Mariel said, she knew that it was right in a way. But she felt sad that some had to act up just to get some attention. Seeing a few jewels fly up within the glass, instead of dropping down, left her feeling a bit odd and deep in thought.

After some time wandering around the castle Nancy found herself facing the House Point Hourglasses. She looked at them for some time and immediately felt anger rise inside her. Why was Slytherin only second place? Well, at least they were better than Hufflepuff. Suddenly her eyebrows shot into the air. Had she really just thought that?!

Rachel walked past the hour glass on her way to her common room, and stopped dead in her tracks.
She swiveled back round to face the hour glass and seethed. They were third place, only 4 points behind Slytherin! This is embarrassing... she thought as she looked at the other houses. We have to get some points!
With that thought in mind, she decided to work on her Arithmancy homework and jogged up to her common room to get her stuff.

Jenn walked up to the hourglasses. So far Ravenclaw was in second place with 38 points. "That has to change."Jenn said to herself. If she got on the Quidditch team then she could help boost that up.

Miranda slowly walked up to the Hourglasses, taking it all in. She saw Hufflepuffs Wow minus fifteen points? she went a bit red remembering the last charm class...Its not my fault i like to talk to people... she thought dropping her gaze to the floor as she remembered how Professor Hawkins had taken five points from Hufflepuff. Shaking her head she took one last look at the Hourglasses and walked back to her commonroom.

She was eating the apple she'd taken from the grounds, it was just good, the best apple she'd ever eaten.

Her eyes went wide when she noticed the hourglasses, "Hufflepuff, minus fourteen?!" she gasped, how could they be still down on points. She shook her head, it will take harder work to get on track if they wanted to be firsts. Kaika sighed as she walked away from it.

Christine was walking from charms class and got a little lost. She ended up. She ended up by the hour glasses that showed the house points. Christine's mouth popped open. She could not believe that hufflepuff was at -24. What was going on with the other people in her house. Christine shook her head in disbelief and continued walking towards the common room.

Livvy was walking from the Hospital Ward and decided to drop in by the hour glasses. Livvy's jaw dropped at how many points the Hufflpuffs had. She felt a pang of sadness and regret for ever letting Winters do that. She sighed and decided to go find Rachel to talk about it.

Miranda walked in a little unsteady. She had collided with a fellow Hufflepuff in the tryouts so she was a bit woozy.
She wanted to get up to the commonroom to get some rest. Her head felt fuzzy, hopefully she wouldnt get a headache or something.

Looking around she saw the hourglasses. She smiled stupidly as she saw that atlast the Huffies werent minus, actually they were in third place!

She turned around to walk up the stairs, Oh why werent there any elevators in this place!?

Rachel decided walked past the hourglass, muttering to herself. "How is it possible that we are more than 100 points down????" she asked herself. Determined, she made her way to the Library to go get some work done.

Jenn smiled as she looked at the hourglass. That wasn't to bad. They where in 3rd place. Of coarse Slytherin was tied with them, but that didn't count! Jenn looked once more then walked off towards the grounds.

Jessica went past the hourglasses, holding the kneazle in her arms and searching for those cat treats to feed him.

She noticed that her house had over 1000 points. That was good! And she herself felt better, knowing that at least a few of those points were her contribution.

Heading for the Great Hall Nancy walked past the House Point Hourglasses holding her black-and-white kitten in her arms. She'd felt kind of guilty for neglecting the kitten the past few days, since she'd always left it in the Common Room. So she'd decided to show her kitten around in Hogwarts a bit. Quickly glancing at the hourglasses she stopped dead in her tracks. What the... What had happened?! Not noticing her mouth falling open she continued staring at the Slytherin-Emeralds. More specifically at the comparatively few emeralds in the hourglass. Nancy just kept standing there gaping at the hourglasses.

Tia wandered past the hourglasses and shook her head and thought we need to gain more points

Rachel walked past the hourglass in a daze. She couldn't focus on anything anymore, and her eyes glassy. She looked up at the hourglass and smiled a little. At least all her hard work was paying off.

Kairi walked past the hourglasses, Ravenclaw were coming first, Gryffindor second, Hufflepuff were third and Slytherin were last. She placed her hand against each glass to determine the exact points and then stepped back, oh well, second wasn't bad, besides, what's life without a little competition? She spotted Rachel, they'd talked briefly here and there, and she was looking a little dazed, "Hey, Ditzy, how've you been?" She seemed to be coming up with nicknames for everyone now, must be a faze, she thought to herself.

Rachel looked over as someone spoke. It took here a moment to realise that it was Kairi, and that she had just called her Ditzy. "Ditzy? That's a new one," she said, and attempted a grin. It ended up looking like a very weak smile. She chose to ignore the second part of her greeting.
