| | |  Herbology Lesson One: Room for a New Arrival
Once again the room is filled with empty pots, soil, and replanting supplies. In addition are some over-crowded planters. In fact, much of the greenhouse seems to be crowded this time around, some pots holding fairly new plants. In the back of the room is a large empty bin marked "Compost."
Professor Carracio made his way around the room, checking the plants and somewhat looking like he was apologizing to them. Though all it was only the barest flicker in his eyes as he looked at each one. By the time he came back to the front of the classroom his expression was blank, and not a hint of emotion could be seen behind the midnight eyes. | |

And gross! Dirt from the nearly dead plant's roots was stuck to his fingers. Jean Raoul resisted the urge to grimace, and continued searching for and removing plants that were on the edge of death. Erikson enjoyed tortured them, Willow was sure of that. Or perhaps not them; her. Everyone else, as far as the girl could tell, was enjoying --or at least keeping up-- with the Herbology class. Even Jean Raoul seemed to be on his element. Kind of.
Though Willow was a complete analphabet when it came to plants, she had no trouble understanding Professor Erikson's intructions. To her huge dismay, she was going to have to touch the plants. Of course. Of course she would. It would not make sense if she had a nice time during Herbology.
"Yes, a lot of sense," mumbled Willow glaring scornfully at the thing. Bacteria, worms, dirt... Horrible things were inside that planter and she would have to put her precious hand inside of it. Her nose wrinkled with clear disgust.
Herbology? This class? More like Purgatory.
Taking a large and deep breath as she closed her eyes, the fourth year Ravenclaw wiggled the fingers of her hand a little, before dipping it full inside the planter, with a grimace,
And she could feel the warm of the dirt, and maybe something moving? A worm, perhaps? Urgh, absolutely disgusting. Opening her eyes was the last thing the girl wanted, but how would she able to take out the dead stuff from the thing with both of her eyes closed, eh? Slowly, the brunette opened them, and with horror --and though she already knew this-- she saw her hand covered with dirt.
"Ew, ew, ew!" There. Willow had finally uttered those ridiculous words she had sworn to herself that would never come out of her mouth. Can you blame her, though? Dirt, plants, bacteria and anything that involved nature disgusted the Ravenclaw quiet a bit.

"Let's down the cullied plants into this pail," Remy suggested to his partner. "That way we can move the culled plants to the compost pile and there won't be a mess to clean up." While he didn't mind working in the greenhouses Remy was all for easy clean up when the work was done.

Qaz continued to watch Miranda...she was satisfied that the youngster was getting the hang of it. Before she got her hands too dirty, she reached into her bag and pulled out a small towel. Somehow, it always felt better to get the dirt off with a good old-fashioned towel...rather than magic.
Miranda was making good progress, but she didn't want her to do all the work, so she joined in. Between the two of them, it shouldn't talk long at all to thin the plants.

Wouldn't you know it....hands covered in dirt and my nose starts itching. Dirty hands...or soapy hands....both seemed to cause an itchy nose...
Qaz tried to rub her nose on her sleeve...as discreetly as possible...but it wasn't helping....Argh!
