Herbology Lesson One: Room for a New Arrival Once again the room is filled with empty pots, soil, and replanting supplies. In addition are some over-crowded planters. In fact, much of the greenhouse seems to be crowded this time around, some pots holding fairly new plants. In the back of the room is a large empty bin marked "Compost." Professor Carracio made his way around the room, checking the plants and somewhat looking like he was apologizing to them. Though all it was only the barest flicker in his eyes as he looked at each one. By the time he came back to the front of the classroom his expression was blank, and not a hint of emotion could be seen behind the midnight eyes. |
Eva entered in the greenhouses. "Professor?" she called, walking in. The classroom was completly empty. "Professor Carracio?" the young girl was wondering if she wasn't there too early for the first herbology lesson? "Good Morning, Professor." She sat down in one of the first rows and looked for her quill in the bag. |
Rachel slowly walked into the green house with an amazed look in her eyes. She noticed the professor and said with a warm smile, "Hello Professor." She walked up to the table and chose a seat far away from the Venomous Tentacula. She didn't particularly love that specific plant. |
Anna entered the room, immediately noticing that the place seemed to be a bit on the crowded side, even for a Herbology class. She also noticed that the professor seemed to be giving apologetic looks to each of the plants. Hmm...what was going on? Anna nodded politely as a greeted to the professor and then made her way further into the room and took a seat. |
Deep breath, Willow. Take a deep breath. Tucking one strand of hair behind her air, Willow stepped inside the Greenhouse, trying to be invisible. Herbology. The only class she felt like a complete and utter idiot. Professor Erikson and all his plants had the ability to do that to her. Something that Willow, of course, did not appreciate. "Hello, Professor. Having a nice day, I hope?" greeted Willow with a half smile, and a polite nod towards the man. Armand Erikson was a tall and intimidating man. And smart, too; he new loads about plants. Stupid plants. It was time to embarrass herself, just like she always did during Herbology. |
Theo walked into the classroom. He wasn't exactly sure of where he should be. He didn't see many seats, just benches. He could barely see over the top of the benches. He smiled at the Plant Professor, his favourite one. His bump was still prominent on his forehead, his little mop of hair barely covering it. |
Jean Raoul trod morosely to Herbology class, his first of the sort at Hogwarts. He glanced around the room, not much interested in the assortment of plants in the greenhouse. It was definitely not his favorite class, but he had never hated it enough to not take the class. So there he was, one of the first students to arrive. He made his way to an empty seat next to Willow, one of the few students he had met so far. A quick glance at her robes told him that she even happened to be in his house, for which he was grateful. That was one Ravenclaw student he knew. "Good day, Professor," he said lazily, leaning back in his seat. |
Astrid entered the classroom and took a look around. She saw Anna sitting towards the front of the class and chose a seat beside her. She gave her a smile and sat down, surveying the room. "Good afternoon, Professor." she said politely. |
Nicholai strode into the class, spotted Anna and walked over to join her- he figured if Cale was to attend the class she might need a little support. He smiled at her in greeting and turned to the professor. "Hello, Sir." |
Mandy shuffled her feet as she walked slowly into the greenhouse. She was never too fond of Herbology. She glanced around, taking in all the plants and students into the room. Sighing slightly, Mandy made her way to an empty seat, sitting down and facing the front of the room. |
Nancy walked slowly into the greenhouse. Looking around at all the other students she finally spotted the professor. "Good day, Professor Carracio." She smiled at her and continued to glance around her. |
Camira walked into the room happily. She loved Herbology. It was always so interesting. She walked over to Professor…uh. Well, she wasn’t sure what to call him. She knew him as Professor Erikson, but he’d changed his name to something else. “Hello Professor. It’s wonderful seeing you again.” God. The man looked so cold Distant. She sighed. Ah well. Not like she could do anything about it. She went at took a seat somewhere in the middle of the class. |
Molly entered the room and found a place towards the back. This was not her subject and she didn't want to attract any attention to herself. |
Lauren quickly walked into the greenhouse and looked at the professor. "Hello Professor," Lauren greeted as she walked to an empty seat and sat down. |
Nia entered the classroom, and smiled. She had read some of the textbook last night, so was hopeful she might do well in this lesson. She saw her brother and frowned at the bump on his head. How had he managed that? It was certainly quite impressive. Shrugging, she went over to one of the benches and sat down, dropping her bag beside her. |
camirayaxley Nancy was just thinking about what her kitten would be doing right now, when she heard a familiar voice. Turning around she exclaimed. "Camira! Hey, there. Mind if I sit next to you?" She walked up to the desk Camira had sat down at and waited for her answer. |
Rachel looked around the green house as she waited for the class to fill up. She noticed that the room was slightly full, even for a green house. Frowning slightly, she looked over at the professor. He had a slightly scary blank expression on his face. She look away quickly, shivering and spotted Astrid coming in. She was about to wave when she saw that she immediately made her way towards the Griffindor prefect. Sighing, she looked back down at the table and started taking out her books and equipment. Oh well... It's better sitting alone, isn't it? That way I can fully concentrate on the professor, right? Who am I kidding? She sighed again, and tried not to look too disappointed. |
Carracio greeted each of the students in turn and looked at the time. "I will give a few more minutes for first-year and transfer stragglers, and then we shall get started." |

Camira smiled as the girl walked over. “Of course I don’t mind. Sit”, she said happily. It was always nicer to be in class with someone you knew. Especially since the professor was especially…grouchy these days, according to the latest rumors. |
Cale walked into the classroom, looking forward to another embarrassing lesson. He seemed to answer wrong in this class more than any other. Smiling at Astrid and blushing as he walked by Anna, he took a seat in the far back corner of the room. |
Evangeline wasn't sure of what to expect of this lesson. Erikson had always confused her .. and he hadn't failed to do so this term. And it had just started. "Good day, Professor Carracio." She smiled upon entering the room, a bit surprised that it was so filled. She smiled at Theo, the small boy that had bumped his head and took a seat in an empty desk, waiting for the class to start. |

Theo saw Evangeline smiling at him, so he waved back, "Hello Vangeline." His little feet swung under his chair. |
James walked into the greenhouse and smiled to the professor. "Good morning, Professor," he waved. He stood near the back of the small crowd that was forming in the room. |
Jasmine came barreling into the room at full speed, skidding to a stop before knocking anything or anyone over. Whew! She thought she was going to be late. Giving her fellow students a friendly smile she made her way to the front and settled in. Catching her father's eye she gave him a cheeky grin and a wink as if to say "You thought I was gonna be late didn't ya?" |

"How'd you get the bump?" she whispered quietly, intrigued. |
