"Well thast something to look foward too. But I still have to spend the beginning of my summer in Salem." she said. "I cant wait to come down! Its gonna be so much fun!"
Allie giggled as Cale tripped,
"Hey Cale."
"Hawaii!? That sounds like so much fun! I've always wante to go there." she said. "Now you have to write to me everyday, and tell me what its like!"

"Oh! I forgot. Love birds. Where is he by the way. I haven't seen him since I came back."He said to Anna and then at the same instant saw Cale come from the door.A rather clumsy entrance.Guess these two have that in common and he smiled at that thought.

He turned to Cale."Hey mate. Remember me."

"Oh! I'm okay now. Those healers at St. Mungo's can do miracles I tell you."He said to her.


"You know I missed you guys too.I'm glad too that I'm back.Tell me how have you been?"He asked while putting water in his glass.

Cale nodded. "Heck yes! I've never been anywhere that's actually warm and sunny and sandy all the time--I mean, the weather was nice in Germany and all but they don't have palm trees. You know what I've always wanted to do?" he asked as he reached across the table and grabbed a dinner roll, taking a big bite out of it a second later, "I wanna try and break a coconut open. Oh, and go surfing!" he added as he took a sip of water to wash down his roll. He put down the goblet and paused, wrinkling his eyebrows. "Wait a minute, are there sharks in Hawaii?"

Everything suddenly happened very fast, and before Cale knew it, something had jumped on the bench next to him and roared so loud he dropped his goblet of water all over his trousers. Blinking in shock, he looked up and saw it was none other than Jillian McGuffin. Goodness gracious, was she trying to give them all a heart attack? "Holy Merlin Jillian, that was realistic!" he exclaimed as he started blotting his pants with his napkin. He did this for almost a whole minute when his brain kicked in and he remembered to just clean up the water with his wand. "I take it you're excited about the current points total?" he asked with a mischevious grin.

"Hiya Allie," Cale said with a smile, taking a spoonful of potatoes as he spoke. "How was your term?"

"Lucas mate!" Cale said with a grin, giving his fellow Gryffindor a hearty pat on the back in greeting. "Where have you been? I don't think I've seen you in...well, a long while. How are you?" he asked.

"Well that'd be 4 months actually. Long story mate but to make it short , I had a leg injury and was advised complete bed rest. Just came in today."He said to Cale.Who like others was eager to know where he had been.
"You tell. How have you been?"He added.

Jillian grinend at the seemingly stunned Prefect, showing off her pearly whites. "Thanks. I been workin' on me roar since first year when I got sorted in Gryffindor. It's comin' 'long nicely." she replied proudly, reaching for another cookie. "Wow, Cale," she mumbled in between mouthfuls, "Was it that realistic that you gone soiled yerself?" Jillian giggled as she watched Cale blotting his trousers. Poor lad, he had no ideahow Jillian could be like....or maybe he did after those Quidditch matches and practices, not to mention the few times they actually bumped into one another. Good times, good times.

"Yep!" she remarked excitedly. "I tried to do real good this term and I gone earn me lotsa points, yeah?" Jillian started nodding absent-mindedly, looking like a bobble-head toy. "I told meself 'I gotta do me homework and go to classes and stuff.' Owled me mum 'bout three days ago sayin' that we were in the lead and I gone and got some points for us too." She paused and reached for a goblet of pumpkin juice and washed down the cookies before continuing with her story. "I just got her owl today and she says she's proud o' me. Susie, me sister..." Jillian giggled, it was hilarious reading about how Susan reacted. "Well, mum just said she was s'prised. Just coz she goes to Beauxbatons, school for all the proper pretty girls," Jillian rolled her eyes, "She thinks she's all that but she en't really. She's just all that annoying. Plus, the girls here aren't bad either. Daphne's gotta be one of the most proper girls I ever met and tons of pretty girls here at Hogwarts, I'm just sorry I dun really contribute to those areas." Jillian laughed at her own joke. She never really thought of herself as pretty or proper, but Merlin, was she a chatterbox.

Anna didn't even bother to turn around where she heard the sound of the doors to the Great Hall being pushed open with a great force. She knew it had to be one of her fellow housemates, excited about Gryffindor's recent House Cup victory. Sure enough, when Anna finally decided to turn and look, she caught sight of her good friend Jillian tearing through the Great Hall and sprinting over to the house table.

Anna giggled when Jillain roared and then yelled out. It felt nice to know that all the hard work they'd done this whole term had paid off. Gryffindor had finally won the house cup!!! "Isn't this exciting, Jillian?" Anna asked. "I'm so proud of everyone! I wanted this victory soooooo badly! WE DID IT! WE FINALLY DID IT!" Anna reached over and gave Jillian a big hug, delighted to share the excitement with her co-Gryffindor. "Well, Cale and I are getting ready to leave for Hawaii soon. I'm so excited---my first trip to America! What are your plans?"

"Yes, Hawaii!!!" Anna replied. "Oh, I will! I'll write to you as much as I can, and I'll even send pictures! Maybe I can get a nice magical shot of me attempting to surf!"

"I know! I can't wait! I want to swim...and surf...and tan...and walk the beaches!" Anna exclaimed. "It'll be so exciting!" In her excitement, Anna reached over and gave Cale one of the tightest hugs she'd ever given him. "...and another magical summer with you at that!"

"Break a coconut open?" Anna questioned. "I don't think I'm strong enough for that. You'll have to break mine open for me once you get your's open." Anna blinked her eyes and gave Cale a look when he mentioned wanting to surf. "Cale, are you sure you're ready to attempt surfing? I mean, those waves can cause an awful lot of falls, and you know how you---oh, nevermind! I can't wait to try surfing, either! ...and yes, there are sharks in Hawaii---lots of them. Don't worry, though. You have to go pretty far out to chance getting your leg bitten off. I'd say at the most, those sharks may just chop off a lock or two of your hair."

Melinda made her way to the Gryffindor table, to say goodbye to all her friends. She was really going to miss them a lot. She looked around. Anna, Cale, Lucas, Astrid, Allie, Jillian were there. She smiled and tapped Astrid and Anna's shoulders. "Greingoth...Deschain..." She said with a teacher voice. She smiled wide.

Astrid turned around when she heard Mel's voice and squealed! Leaping from her seat and throwing her arms around her she said, "Oh Melly! Girl, I am going to miss you this summer." She squeezed her super tight before letting her go and then sat back down on the other side of Lucas and patted the seat next to her. "Sit with me for awhile and tell me how you are. I haven't seen you since the Fwooper song!"

Melinda laughed when Astrid hugged her so tight. She felt so happy to have her as a friend. She was like a sister to her, the sister she needed to find to be happy for the rest of her life. "Hey, Astrid...I am so going to miss you too..." She told her and smiled wide. She looked around then sat where her friend had asked her to. "Thanks..." She said.

"Yeah...the Fwooper song..." Melinda said in sort of a laugh. It had been the weirdest day of her life in Hogwarts. "Ever since then, I've been good..." She told her. "How about you?" She asked her. "And you guys...how have you been?" She asked the group.

"Wow, for four months? You must have injured it pretty bad," Cale said, blinking at him in awe. "Anyways, pretty well--we came in 3rd this term for Quidditch and as you can see, we're winning the cup!" he told him in delight.

"Haha, very funny," Cale muttered, rolling his eyes and taking a sip of his water. "I spilled on myself cause you near gave me a heart attack," he told her with a chuckle.

"You did a great job!" he told her when she mentioned the points. "One of the Top 5! Very impressive!"

Cale's mouth fell open. "What? Are you implying I'm clumsy?" he asked, grinning because he knew that it was true. "Greingoth, I am INSULTED," he teased her, turning around and pretending to be angry with her.

"Wait...you're not serious about the sharks, are you?" he asked, self consciously grabbing his hair in the process. Those sharks were not getting Mr. Clumsy Prefects fro. No way! "How far out could I go without them going after my hair?" he asked in worry.

As Melinda sat down beside her, Astrid tapped the table in front of Allie to get her attention. "Hey Al!" she called out. "You got any parchment over there I can use?" Then she turned back to Mel and said, "If I give you my address, will you promise to write? That way I won't have to go the WHOLE summer without talking to you."

Astrid could feel herself starting to feel sad again, and then she thought of the Fwooper. WOW! That really had been the best day EVER! She knew that if she lived to be 100, she would never forget that day with her friends. "I've been wonderful!" she said. "And I am sooo excited that we have FINALLY won the house cup! This has been an awesome term, to say the least."

Melinda watched and smiled at Astrid when she asked for a piece of parchment. "Oh...of course," She told her and smiled. "I promise to write very often, Hogwarts' students will actually recieve like ten letters during the week from me...one more won't hurt..." She teased.

"I'm very glad to hear you are wonderful..." She told her, letting out her unusual Spanish accent. "Oh, congratulations, Gryffindors..." She said, clapping her hands, then serving a cup of water in a goblet to say cheers.

"I would say it was pretty good." said Allie. "And how about yours?"
Allie smiled at Anna. She seemed really excited about going to Hawaii, but then again, who wouldnt be? It was freaking Hawaii!!!
"It sounds like its gonna be amazing."
Allie looked over at Astrid.
"Err..parchemnt?" she saidstarting to look through her pockets. "I..dont..OH heres some."
She pulled out a small piece of crumpled up parchment, and handed it to Astrid."Hope thats okay."
She looked to see who Astrid was talking to.
"Hey Mel!! I didn't see you there! How are you?" she said, smiling at her friend.

"Way exciting!" Jillian replied, hugging Anna and reciprocating her friend's excitement. "Guess they dun call it a Lion's Pride for nuthing!" she laughed at her own joke again.

"Hawaii? Lucky! I only been to 'Merica once when I was eight, but we went to 'Laska. It was cold out there, yeah. I thought I'd be freezin' me ears off!" her hands quickly flew to her ears, as if to check that they really were still there. After she was sure her ears were still intact and on her head, she dropped her hands and continued, "I dunno really. We're either gonna go to Scandanavia to visit me brother, Chuck, or go after dad in the Amazon coz he's prolly on some research assignment again." Jillian smiled and shook her head. She had one odd [to say the least] family. "Either way I wanna go have a great adventure. Maybe Chuck can help me with me Quidditch skills coz I wanna try out for the team again next term and Chuck's really good at Quidditch. And if we decide to go to the Amazon, then I hope we, me and me brother, Lucky, I mean, get to play explorers! Be like thatmuggle Inky Llama Yawns or something like that..."

Jillian turned around when she heard a familiar voice. "Hey, Melly." she greeted, a smile on her face. "You psyched that Ravenclaw won the Quidditch Cup? Congratulationss, by the way."

Jillian burst into laughter, almost crying in the process....ahh, tears of joy "Haha, yep, I got that effect on people." she replied, wiping her eyes.

"You did a great job too, scored higher than me, you, Anna, and Astrid over there...wow! The three of you must be geniuses." Jillian concluded, very sure of herself.

She smirked when Cale got "offended" when being called clumsy. "Face it Cale, the forces of the world are against you. To have such great hair and sideburns like those....you gotta pay a price and I guess your price is bad luck." she giggled and stuck her tongue out playfully like a little child at the Prefect. "And about them sharks, well, me dad's a researcher so the most helpful thing I can tell you is this: don't let 'em smell your fear and don't provoke them coz they're jealous beasts. Best if you hide the wicked volume of the hair and mask them sideburns or something." she said seriously, so serious that she forced back that laugh threatening to escape her lips. Let's see if messing with Mr. Sideburns works and if it's gonna be fun. Heehee.

Melinda looked over at Allie. "Hey...Allie" She said and smiled wide to the girl. "I've been good, thank you..." She answered. "How about you?" She asked, not really wanting to tell too bad news during that great meeting of friends.

"Hello, Jillian..." She greeted with a smile on her face towards the girl. "Oh, thank you, but I think those cheers should be for Ryan...he's a great Captain..." She told her.

"Oh it was messed up alright. You know muggles drives those car things like crazy. The healers did a pretty good job but I had to get it working pretty slowly so that I don't hurt it again."He said to Cale.


"By the way congratulations on winning the cup this year. I heard you guys did a fantastic job."He added.

"Well, it got off to a bit of a rocky start," Cale said with a chuckle. "But everything worked out in the end. And we won Quidditch! I mean, not the WHOLE cup but we got third!" he added with a grin.

Cale grinned and tapped his chin in thought. "Hmmmm...I never thought of it that way before. I'm just soooooo good looking, I got cursed with clumsiness so people wouldn't think I'm a god or anything," he laughed.

He narrowed his eyes at the little Gryffindor and rubbed his sideburns unconsciously. "Wait, I thought sharks went crazy over the smell of blood. And my hair might be all wet so there won't be any volume to hide in," he joked, smoothing back a few of his curly locks. Jillian sure had a fixation on his hair today, didn't she?

"Thanks," Cale said with a smile. "That's a shame...my mum always says muggle cars are just death traps. And she's muggleborn," he added, cutting a slice of ham for himself as he spoke. "Imagine if you had been here to help with points--we could have been winning by over a thousand!" he chuckled, waving his fork enthusiastically and accidentally sending a piece of ham flying into Melinda's face.

"Whoops...sorry Mel," he muttered, blushing in embarrassment.

"Ive been great, actually." she said. "Even though I am sad that the term is ending, its been a really oood year for me."
"Third for Quidditch, and I think we've won the house cup!!" she said. "Theres no possible way for Slytherin to catch up now!"

Barry ventured over to the gryfie table. Mel was there as well. Did the rest of them knoiw yet? Oh well must not let it get the better of you barry he thought. Now who was here? "Anna and cale, Allie and Astrid, Lucus and um..." who was that? She looked about Celas age. He said "Hi everyone!" and ventured over to the girl and asked "And who may you be?"

Great. Evolette had lost Terry. Well, maybe he had sneaked off to the Gryffindor table, it was worth a look.

However, when she glanced up and down the table, she did not see her boyfriend anywhere. Well this was just not fun. With a pout, she prepared herself to head back to the Slytherin table, when she heard the voice of a certain "Ex-boyfriend" of hers.

"Cale!" She said, a smile forming on her lips as she stood beside the curly haired prefect.

"I know!" Cale said with excitement, practically bouncing out of his chair. "The best part is we get to rub it in that silly Intern's face," he added with an evil grin, glancing at Trel at the staff table. He hoped that the shock of someone other than Slytherin winning the house cup was enough for her to quit. Bwahaha. He would LOVE that.

"Hiya Barry," Cale said with a smile as the Ravenclaw walked over. "Good term?"

Cale whipped his curly head around--he knew that voice. That was Evolette, his old partner in crime, and one of the few Slytherin's he was great friends with. "Hello Evolette," he said with a grin, scooting over to make room for her in case she wanted to sit down. "I haven't talked to you in a while! How've you been?"

"Oh, thank you." Evolette said, as he scooted over for her. Sitting down, she smoothed her skirt and crossed her legs, placing her hands on in her lap. She smiled at the other people he had been talking to in general, as she didn't really know any of them, "I've been fabulous. Yourself?" she asked, tossing her hair off of her shoulders, "How is Anna?" she added. She had not as much seen the female prefect since they talked weeks and weeks ago.

"Oh hey there, erm....erm....," Anna started, then stopped when she realized that she really didn't know Melinda's last name. Shrugging and giggling, Anna finally said, "Hey there, Melinda! Ready for summer break?" she asked. "Oh, and thank you for congratulating us on our house cup win! We worked so hard for it!"

"I really hope so!" Anna remarked. "I will miss you and Astrid, though. I hope you two have a really awesome summer. I can't believe the two of you will be third years next term!!! ...and I'll be a sixth year! I can't believe I only have two more school years here." Anna blinked a few times and then looked away from Allie. The truth was, Anna was trying to forget the fact that her boyfriend would be a seventh year next term. What was she going to do when he moved away, and she was still stuck right here?

"I was actually starting to worry about that Lion's Pride for a while, because we never could seem to win the cup! We sure came through this school year, though!" Anna exclaimed, a smile widening across her face. "I'm still so proud of all of us!"

Anna listened as Jillian told about a few of the many trips she'd taken. "Alaska sounds really interesting," Anna remarked. "Although, I do get a good bit of snow living here. Hawaii is the exact opposite, though! It's warm nearly all the time there." Anna took another bit of her roll and then washed it down with her pumpkin juice. "Oh, and don't worry. I'm sure you'll be on the Quidditch team again next term!"

"I'm sorry...but what do you have against her? She doesn't seem that bad to me." said Allie. "Maybe not the nicest person ever..."
Allie made a face when Anna metnioned that she was going to be a third year. She was having a hard time believeing that she was already going to be a third year.
"I can't believe it either..it seems like just yesterday I was in my first year, and on the carriage...to Belle's." she said, with a smirk, remembering the shock of finding out she wasn't going to be at Hogwarts.
"Are you okay?" she said, when Anna looked away.

Jillian nodded. "I guess, but I haven't really seen your Cap'n outside of the pitch much. Guess we walk in different circles." Jillian shrugged. Though, it would be nice to meet the Ravenclaw captain, maybe train with him, but then why would Ryan teach her any of the techniques for Quidditch. It was all strategy for Ravenclaws.

Jillian smirked. "Erm, yeah sure....I was really mostly talkin' 'bout your hair, not really your looks." she bit her lip, holding back a laugh again. Cale Newell was a nice guy, he just got so vain at times. "You can't really ignore that thing on account o' it's so massive!" she put both hands on her head then jerked both of them away at the same time, gesturing the poofyness and massiveness of the Prefect's hair.

Jillian nodded. "Mhmm. Sharks get into a frenzy at the smell of blood, but then lotsa shark attacks happened to people without an open wound so sharks can smell your blood with or without an open cut in your body." she tried to sound intelligent as she continued "So I guess sharks just listen to your heart pumping blood. Sound waves travel much faster in the water, y'know. Me dad told me that." The last part, she was sure was true.

"Me too!" Jillian chimed in. "At first, them Eagles were winnin' everythin'! The Quidditch matches, the house points...then outta nowhere them Snakes slither their way to first place and we were always at second." Her lower lip protruded as she pouted, looking like a sad little girl whose mum wouldn't buy her the cutest teddy bear in the whole world. "But then when finals came we kinda caught up. I was so happy!" her smile was back on her face now as she snuck peek from behind the Staff table towrds the House Point Hourglasses where rubies rose high above the other sparkling jewels. Jillian's eyes glimmered as well.

"I hope I can visit Hawaii someday. I wanna learn that muggle sport they call surfin'. It sounds really fun. Plus I wanna go 'splore them volcanoes." she grinned mischievoulsy, already plotting in her head.
