Piper smiled a bit and then turned away from the boys. She gulped slightly, it sounded like she had made friends with what looked to be trouble makers. The last thing in the world that she wanted was to attract trouble. She frowned heavily, and looked at her cup, wishing her sister was here to help her.

Piper was stunned again as a fellow Gryffindor said hello to her. Her sister hadn't mentioned people were this nice. "H..Hi." She said stuttering. "I..I am Piper Snow, it is nice to meet you Anna.." She managed to get out without blushing horribly.

"Hello, Anna..." She said, smiling to her. "I have been alright...thank you..." She answered to her question, nodding her head, slightly.

"And you...?" Melinda asked, knowing that for sure, Anna was really excited about this year, her Sweet Sixteen.

Melinda smiled as Anna answered to her question. "I am so glad you are happy...and that you had a good summer..." She said, smiling about the fact that Anna was still with Cale. Oh, beautiful love that was.

Melinda blushed from the last question Anna did to her. "Yah....we are going out...and it's amazing..." She answered, a little blused. How she wished to do the water charm on herself and wash away those red cheeks.

Piper looked down shyly as Anna spoke. " I am a fourth year actually." She said in a quiet voice. She noticed that Anna was having a conversation with another girl, and she quietly sat there, unsure of what to do, and wishing she could escape to her room.

That doesn't mean we don't stand by Gryffindors. It means that as prefects we are encouraging everyone, Gryffindor or not, to do the right thing."

Anna slouched down in her seat, an irritated expression on her face. This was not how she imagined her first day back at Hogwarts to be. The school was wonderful, but she was starting to have more prefect duties on the very first day than she'd had during the very first month last school year. The sad thing was, they were all happening right here at the Gryffindor table.

Raiden's jaw dropped. Barry was being so nice to him, and now... now it was costing him this?! He was being disowned for being nice... this wasn't right... not at all. In any way. Raiden bit his lip. This was his fault, how could he make this right?! Ignoring the mean guy, Raiden moved closer to where Barry had sat down and put a hand tentatively on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry, Barry, I'm really really sorry, this is all my fault," he whimpered, trying to think. 'I'm sorry' wasn't exactly going to cut it, in this situation. What could he do? "If you want... you can be my cousin. I'd be happy to have you as a cousin, you're a very nice person."

He attempted a little smile.

"Would that be okay?"

"It isn`t your fault Raiden you have to stop blaming yourself for these things" said Barry forcing a half smile on his face he said "Take a party hat were supposed to be enjoying ourselves not crying or being sad" then he said "I have many more and its ok I`m sure this will be over with soon and it can go back like it used to be. But if you want to be cousins it could be fun." he said thinking about fun times he had with Jason. There actually wasn`t alot he now realized but they were there he added in a whisper "Be careful we don`t want you getting hurt"

And then the Jason person was off again, reprimanding Barry, the boy who Raiden had just met, and another person named Gwen. Raiden bit his lip again in confusion. Jason was saying that if Barry didn't take his side, then they'd no longer be family? Was it possible to do that? But he didn't interfere; Kingston Wendleworth had told him not to start an argument. He didn't want to go against Kingston Wendleworth, after all... but Jason was being very mean to more people now... and what was that about Slytherins? Being themselves because they didn't like Gryffindors?! But... Raiden looked at Daphne Hopton, then at Anna, and Bree, and Cale, who was looking very, very unhappy... and Astrid too, was a Gryffindor. He liked them... He didn't understand what the boy was saying.

"Daphne Hopton," he whispered, keeping his voice very, very low. "You're a Gryffindor, right? And Bree is too... and most everyone around, except for me, and Kingston Wendleworth..."

He trailed off. The guy had heard him earlier from farther away, and again, Raiden didn't want to start arguments... and besides, Cale was yelling now. Raiden flinched at the unnatural sound of Cale's shouting. It didn't seem like he did it much, it just didn't sound right for Cale's voice to be so... loud. He was upset with them all, it seemed... and he said something about them going to their own tables? Raiden was genuinely unhappy now. He'd not only displeased Kingston Wendleworth, but Cale, too.

"Maybe.. maybe I should go back to the Slytherin Table," Raiden mumbled, his lips drawing themselves down at the corners. "I didn't want to make Kingston Wendlworth and Cale displeased... Or Anna, or Daphne Hopton..." He looked at Bree, who had just supplied her last name to him as well, and tried to smile. "It's very nice to have met you, Bree Finchley." He looked at Astrid, and Barry. "You too, Astrid and Barry..."

He stood awkwardly for a moment, trying to figure out a way to escape this place without stepping on or running into anyone. There were too many people here anyway, and if he was just here adding to the anger and starting arguments, well... no one would miss him. If only he could find a way around all these people...

Raiden seemed to trying with all his might not to look worried. It wasn't working. He looked rather like he wanted to leave. Lucky him. He could go back to his table and forget this ever happened. Bree, however, had to stay at this table and live in the same area as all of these people. Not that she didn't like them. They all seemed like very nice people. Most of them had been very nice to her too. She just didn't want to be reminded of this ever again even if she lived that long.

"It's not your fault. I started this. Kind of anyway." she said sympathetically. "You don't have to go if you don't want to," she added, hoping he might stay a bit longer. She wanted to find out more about him. He was interesting in the same way Mariel was interesting.

Subconsciously, Miss Hopton had begun twirling a strand of her hair around her fingers, lips pursed in a mixture of impatience and boredom. Not even the thought of buttered dinner rolls could appease her. Finally brushing her hair away from her face, she turned to Raiden "Please tell me the Headmistress is about to make her speech."

Shutting her eyes, she placed one finger over lips. She could almost taste the rosemary chicken in her mouth. "I'm a growing girl I shouldn't be allowed to wait so long for nourishment."

Where was Davis when you really needed him?

Hannah saw the new girl - Piper, she thought her name was - sitting with what could only be described as a terrified look on her face. She gathered that she was pretty shy from what she had overheard from her fellow Gryffindors' conversations with her. "Hey," she said with a smile. "I'm Hannah, Hannah Weasley. I'm sorry, I wasn't meaning to eavesdrop, but I heard you saying that you had just transferred here and all that stuff. I try to tone it down, but it's hard." She smiled sheepishly. She hoped she wasn't intimidating the girl. She definitely seemed like the type of person Hannah would like to be friends with.

Hannah looked over at the boy with the guitar. That's really nice, she thought. She vaguely recognized the song from the Muggle radio station she sometimes listened to during the summer. She almost introduced herself but realized that she'd rather listen than interrupt.

If in the future our friendship grows closer then i have to say that i wouldn't mind having you as one of my best friends."Stopping to eat her muffin Erica wondered if Maggie understood what she meant. The words hadn't come out exactly how she had wanted, but she couldn't change that now.

Sabrina couldnt' believe that she was back at Hogwarts. After talking with Robert came back to her table to see tons of her friends had arrived. Her hair that had been silver was now definitely a red, and she didn't know what it meant, normally it meant she had a crush, but on Robert? She barely knew the guy! "Via! Hannah! Allie!" she exclaimed hugging each of them tightly as she sat beside them. "You know I have missed you soooo much over the summer it was horrible! My aunt and uncle dragged me off to Europe on business, saying I wasn't old enough yet to be left alone."
