Welcome to the greenhouses! Six of them are lined up in a row with a neatly placed natural garden laid out in front. The greenhouses are filled with all sorts of plants, both mundane and exotic, as well as several that have never been seen before.

The Greenhouse Three is now locked up tight with several warding charms, and even has runes engraved through the structure. Though there doesn't seem to be anything unusual through the windows. As dusk approaches, the runes glow a bright red, which can still be seen in the early hours of the morning. A sign out front lists which plants have been moved to which greenhouse.

A similar sign now sits in front of Greenhouse Five, which lists it as the Advanced Herbology Laboratory. It, too, is locked and warded. The runes decorating this greenhouse are slightly different, and glow a faint blue. All those wishing access should probably see Professor Erikson. (If attending Greenhouse 5, please see the separate thread. Thank you.)

To the left of the greenhouses is a small Victorian-style building. There are two doors on the front. One leads to the professor's office, and the other leads to storage for the less dangerous gardening materials.

Feel free to help out in the greenhouses. The professor may even give recognition to particularly helpful students.

Jasmine peeked into the greenhouse to make sure it was empty. Satisfied the coast was clear she entered and closed the door. Walking over to a workbench, she gently placed down the large black container she was holding. From her robes she pulled a small very old looking tome and opened it to an already marked page.

As she began to peruse the page she stopped to think a moment, staring at the black container. Making a decision, she took out her wand and pointed it at the door, guarding it with a few simple wards. That way she would know if someone was coming. Thankfully it was later in the day and not many students about, plus her father was busy with a student elsewhere. Turning back to the page she was reading, Jasmine absently patted the top of the container. There was a soft, cooing noise that came from within in response and the container vibrated slightly.

Jasmine couldn't help but smile as after checking the page once more, she began to gather various materials. Let's see... a larger pot, a trowel, fresh, rich soil, some fertalizer, some pebbles to help with drainage, and some peat moss. Glancing at the page again, she bit her lip and hoped she wouldn't make a mistake. She did not even want to think of the consequences if she did not do everything right. This was the culmination of over a year of planning on her part. Taking a deep breath, she began the preparations. She could do this. After all, she was the Herbology Professor's daughter was she not?

Ali was walking around, loving the wind as it blew through her hair. She twirled around and noticed that the Herbology Greenhouses were right behind her. The door was closed. Was it locked? She walked closer. "i wonder if i should check on the plants' She turned the handle but it didnt move. 'It's locked? Oh well." She pulled out her want and pointed at the door. "Alohomora" she said, and the door clicked. She pulled the handle and stepped inside.

She walked over to where the Mandrakes for the new Second years were. She spotted the Abyssinian shrivelfig. She stopped looking at the plants as she heard movement. Was someone in here?

She moved around the room, trying to find the source of the noise. Then she say a girl there. It looked like she was doing something. She stepped closer.

"Can i help you with that?"

Jasmine had just enough time to close the container when she heard the girl's voice behind her. Her wards had already alerted her to the Hufflepuff's presence. Taking a deep breath, she turned to the other girl with friendly smile."Um.. hi there! Um.. I'm good, thank you though. Just finishing up here." The whole time she was talking, Jasmine made sure to eep her back to the container, blocking any good view of it.

"I just need to clean up this mess.."Jasmine's voice trailed off as the container made a cooing sound once again. Eyes widening slightly, she quickly tried to talk over the sound," But thank you so much for asking!" She said this just a tad to loud, but it served it's purpose in covering up the sound. Smiling again, she held out her hand "I'm Jasmine Carracio by the way."

Ali wondered why the girl was acting so suspisciously.

"i can help you clean up if you like." She tried to peep around the girl to see how big the mess was, then she heard a slight sound. 'Am i hearing things?' she thought to herself. "Did you hear something?" She asked, but the girl was starting to talk louder. 'What's going on?' she thought to herself again.

"I'm Aliza." she smiled back as she shook Jasmine's hand. "Aliza Martinez, but you can call me Ali."

It was silent for a bit, and Ali took the opportunity to try to hear the sound again, but heard nothing.

"So where is this mess?"

Jasmine's smile did not waver as she said,"Nice to meet you Ali. Here something?? Hmmm.... can't say I heard anything out of the ordinary....And the mess is behind me.. .so if you would not mind grabbing that..ah.. bag of soil! Yes, thats it! I um..need to replenish what I took from there." Jasmine pointed to a large pot about half full with soil.

Waiting until Ali turned to get the bag of soil, Jasmine spun around and quickly grabbed the container and placed it under the bench. She was just finishing putting a stack of pots in front of it when it cooed again. Oh merlin, please stop. She pleaded silently with the container, before faking a coughing fit to cover the sound once more.

Giving Ali an almost overbright smile, she then began cleaning off the workbench.

"it's nice to meet you too, Jasmine." Ali smiled, realizing she wasn't hearing the sound anymore.

"Hm..bag of soil, eh?" She knew Jasmine was still acting pretty strange, but she didnt question her. She turned to get the bag that Jasmine had pointed out to her. When she collected the bag and turned back around, Jasmine was leaning over the bench.

Ali heard, Jasmine mumbling something, then cough. "You okay?"

"Oh yes! Splended thank you!" Jasmine said cheerfully and made quick work of wiping off the bench and putting away the equipment she had used. There. Wait. She couldn't very well leave without her container,nor could she reveal it while Ali was still there without looking more suspicious than she already did. Well, Ali couldn't very well stay in here forever, so she would just wait her out. Besides, this greenhouse could use a little T.L.C.
Turning to Ali with a smile, she said,"Well my spot is cleaned up. But it looks like some of these plants could use a little watering. Not to mention a little straightening up would not go amiss." Jasmine eyes a particularlly disorderly corner with different sized pots and gardening tools.

Ali could still tell that jasmine was acting suspisciously, but was sure that if something was going on that she needed to know about, Jasmine would've told her.

Ali giggled, "That was actually what i came here to do before i saw you here." She looked around the greenhouse. "Guess we could do it together? Woud be faster, i think."

Jasmine gave Ali a friendly smile and resigned herself to some greenhouse tending. She would deal with the container later. "Sounds good! So would you like watering duty or supply clean up duty?" She said with a light laugh.

Ali smiled back at Jasmine. "Guess i'll be on watering duty." She looked around for the watering cans, filled them up, and made her rounds, watching Jasmine from the corner of her eye.

Jasmine moved a stack pots with her foot to completely block the container from view before heading over to where some supplies were strewn about. She quickly assessed the mess and then began stacking pots together by size. After she did that she accioed a broom and swept up any soil, clippings and such on the floor. A simple scourgify would clean it all up, but Jasmine always found working with the plants, even cleaning up around them, to be quite theraputic. She glanced over to where Ali was watering the plants, making sure she did not linger around where the container was. Making another quick decision, she waited until Ali's back was to her before aiming her wand at the container. She then used a non-verbal silencing charm on the container and by the time Ali was facing her again her wand was put away and a serene smile on her face.

Ali moved fluently around the room, watering the plants withing the greenhouse. She wasnt really paying attention to Jasmine because she was doing something she loved to do: taking care of the plants. When she was finished, she turned back to Jasmine at the same time that Jasmine looked at her . "All done"she smiled.

Returning Ali's smile she said in satisfaction,"Me too. Well done. Looks perfect." Glancing at the time, Jasmine let out small gasp and with an apologetic smile said,"Oh my, I really must be going. It was good to work with you Ali, perhaps I shall see you in class." Then to make sure the other girl left before she did,"I just need to leave a note for my father, I will be sure to add how helpful you have been." Retrieving some parchment and a quill from her book bag she made a show of writing a note as she waited for Ali to leave. Then she could grab the container and finish the preparations.

Ali wasnt ready to leave yet, she liked being among the plants, but it felt like she had overstayed her welcome there. "I'll get going then, have some stuff i need to finish. See you in class." She flashed Jasmine a big smile, then headed for the door.

Jasmine returned Ali's smile and watched her leave the greenhouse. When she was sure she was gone, she put away her quill and parchment and retrieved the large container from it's hiding place. Removing the silencing charm she immediately apoligized and seem to almost pet the container. "There.There.. So sorry about that, but I couldn't have you revealing yourself to anyone yet." Listening a moment, she finally heard an answering cooing sound. Smiling at the sound, she quickly gathered her belongings and left before anyone else came about.
