Professor Dainsie entered the common room and stood in the center of the ring of couches. Raising her wand to her throat, she whispered a spell that would allow her voice to echo throughout the common room and up into the dorms as well. "By the request of your head of house, could all Lions in the vicinity please assemble as soon as possible here in the common room, please." She lowered the wand and sat down on the closest couch, lounging slightly to get comfortable. | |

Is the new Head going to be nice. Will the evil Nurse Assistant Lady Trel take over?! Oh, the horror!
Jillian ran over to Cale and Anna. Surely the Prefects could answer some of her questions. "Cale! Anna!" she called, sounding somewhat alarmed. "What's...Who...What about..." she could barely form a question, but one question basically asked it all "Why?"
Cale looked over as little Jillian McGuffin called his name and shrugged. "I dunno...we know just as much about this as you do," he said with a sigh, shaking his head so that his curls fell in front of his forehead again. He looked back at Dainsie and tried to block out the other conversations going on around him. He tried to think of all the possible replacements for her, but all the other cool professors were taken by other houses. Darn! Guess she would just have to stay! Cale chuckled at his own little joke in his head before turning back to Jillian.
"Whatever the reason is I bet it's a good one. Maybe she just got tired of dealing with us outlandish Gryffindors," he said with a grin.

Lizzie nodded and said Well I think it's great we're in the lead, but sad professor Dainsie's leaving. Though I didn't really got to know her, I could tell she was a good teacher and head of house. She looked around and smiled at her friends. You guys have been awsome firends. Best ever. But we have like 6,5 more years ahead so... She smiled.

Zaria was surprised as Anna pounced and hugged her, not at all expecting that reaction. She hugged her back and then stood up again. "Hey now, this is supposed to be a celebration for us all! I gathered you so we could congratulate each other and be happy about how well we did this year. Though to answer your question, some of you know that I live on and run my own magical creature sanctuary. Well it's going to be expanded next year and will take up more of my time. I didn't think it fair to you all to not have 110% of my focus. A terribly difficult thing for me to give up, but you deserve better."
She smiled light heartedly and and clasped her hands together. "So enough of this sadness, let's have some fun." She waved her wand, and suddenly the room was FULL of red and gold balloons. They took up all the free space from the floor to the ceiling, not even allowing you to see the people around you. "Each balloon contains a treat, joke gift or trinket of some kind, so get popping!" She popped the closest balloon and a packet of ice mice appeared, before stomping one close to her foot.

Tobi was utterly dejected. even if this was happy news for Professor Dainsie, it was lousy news for him, and he knew it would take a while to muster up really happiness for her. She was far and away his favourite staff member, even if she DID have a nasty habit of working with magical creatures that scared the pants off of him
"Congratulations Professor," he said, because it was polite, and because he knew he would mean it one day after he would no longer get the opportunity to say it to her, it probably wasn't all that convincing he knew, but he wanted her to know he wished her well. Still, he flopped down on the nearest chair with a sigh.

As professor Dainsie stopped talking and the balloons appeared all around them, Lizzie giggled and turned towards her friends who she could no longer see because of all the balloons. Hey guys I bet I can pop more balloons than you! she said, starting to pop the ones closest to her. Oh god she was gonna miss this so much during the break, miss the whole school.
