"It was my fault really," Antwone said as he took her arm. "I think I got too excited and the chair went mad as a Mooncalf. I was just trying to finish my charms homework but then this happened, of course. Can't get through a day without ..." He tried to give her a smile as he lifted himself to his full height, the three scars streaking his face doing the triple smirked he was so used to feeling on his skin. "Yeah ... Antwone Thomas is the name," he confirmed as he rattled his head, trying to regain his barring in the dark and poorly lit corridor. "Whatcher doin' down here anyhow. Your house usually don't linger in the dungeons." |
"Charms, right," Punz smiled, helping him up. Perhaps her little bit of levitation would count for Hufflepuff as well? Hopefully? Once Antwone was up and standing, however, Rapunzel almost took a step back. When did he get so...tall? He was probably bigger than Ryan now, and that was saying something. And the scars on his face...when did that happen? She shook her blond head a little but retained eye contact with him. "Uh, I'm just...just...." wandering? Being bored? Feeling lonely? "I was putting together the Hufflepuff Quidditch roster, actually," she admitted, pointing down the hall to her notebook. It was still lying by the corner where she'd been |
"Wouldn't it be easier to do that in your common room or the library?" Antwone questioned. It was rather odd that she would come down her of all places. As he observed before only students taking potions or trying to get to the Slytherin common room would walk through these demented hallways. He himself knew this would not be a popular place to come and a perfect place to practice his charm, he supposed himself wrong now. He looked down to Rapunzel directly in her eyes again, noticing the glint of uneasiness he had grown accustomed to since his encounter. It didn't offend him any longer only mildly annoyed him. He would have to learn to except and learn that his appearance would shock others even if unintentionally. Antwone would do the same if she had three scars streaking across her face. He tried to picture fifth year Hufflepuff with scars across her face. For him, he reckoned it worked, they were sort of a battle wound. On a girl, it would be different. It would be harder to deal with. |
So he was a smart one. Humph. Claws were all so logical. All of 'em. "Yeah, I could," Punz replied, hestitating to answer, "but I just didn't feel too social for the common room. And it's always quiet down here." She shrugged and then pointed her wand at her notebook, summoning it to her side. Oh how she loved charms. But oh - he saw her glance at his scars. Rapunzel bit her lip, resisting the urge to open her big mouth and ask how he'd gotten them. Instead, she blurted out a different random question. "Are you uh, playing Quidditch this term?" she asked, fidgeting with her notebook. After all, that was more or less how she remembered him from their early years at Hogwarts... |
"No, actually," he said, noticing she was nervous about something. "Tomorrow is the first meeting for Dueling Club. I'm the head of it and I took off a year of Quidditch. Too bad, I hope the team could win again without me." Antwone glanced down he robes to the golden badge indicating her new appointment. "CAPTAIN!?" he had had no idea. He couldn't exactly remember playing Quidditch against her though. It was always so fast-paced whenever he played, especially as a Beater. "So you're putting the team together. Is it hard for you? Filtering through everyone. I know I'd have a hard time picking more skilled people over my friends, I wouldn't have the heart. I'd probably choose the worst team ever." |
No quidditch for him, ehheheheh, Punz thought, revelling in this fact. It could actually be a blessing for her team this term since Ravenclaw was always their toughest competitor. Always. "Dueling Club, eh?" Rapunzel raised an eyebrow. Oh yeah, she'd read a notice about that in the common room but had been too busy to remember. She shook her head and smiled then when he finally realized why she'd been talking about Quidditch. "Yeah, Captain..." she repeated, more softly. "It's...not as hard as I thought it would be," she shrugged. "We had a lot of great players graduate last term, so....I have to find replacements, naturally, and Hufflepuffs are usually pretty good about um, not taking rejectment personally...." Well what else can I do - everyone knows cuts have to be made eventually! I hope.... |
"I don't know ..." Antwone said. "Hufflepuff is a top team, many students, I'm sure, want to be a part of winning team. It feels good." Antwone turned his head briefly to the overturned chair, he withdrew his wand, flipping the chair upright again. He twist his wrist, muttering something indistinguishable and transfigured the chair into a small rabbit that bounced away up to the main castle. "It's getting pretty late, eh?" Not that he could really tell in the dark dungeon. "Do you want me to walk you to your common room. It's near the kitchens right? Not too far from here. I haven't visited the house elves in sometime ... actually ..." something accrued to the scarred fifth year. "Do you know where the Room of Requirement is?" |
"This is true...." she replied simply. Tryout turnout had been pretty good so far, now she just had to work out the last few kinks in who would be playing what position... Which she should probably get back to doing. "Sure, let's walk," Punz agreed, glad that he had made the chair disappear. That would be an awkward object to lug around. "Room of Requirement?" she blinked and slowed her walking just a bit. "I might've happened upon it in my first year, but I really don't know much about it...why do you ask?" |
"The meeting is there tomorrow," Antwone had stated truthfully. "And I have no idea where it is or how to get in. I've been told it's on the seventh floor but I've checked all over and there is no door that would indicate a room that can transform into anything." He walked alongside her as he dug his wand back into his robes. It had become evident to him only now how short she was to him. The top of her blonde head had only reached the bottom of his chin. |
Rapunzel wished she could help him with finding it, she really did....but she knew even less about the Room of Requirement than he did. "Maybe you could ask a professor or something," she suggested. "Whoever the club sponsor is, perhaps he or she knows?" Well obviously someone had to know, duh Pretzel, otherwise they wouldn't choose to hold a meeting in there... |
"I asked Dumont, he's the sponsor you know," Antwone said ... he knew he'd find it as long as he stuck around the seventh floor and waited. "You should come by. Dumont's got us a boggart. This term we are going to introduce the students to the club but right now we are organizing a tournament for next year. Should be loads of fun, it should." Antwone spoke excitedly as he could see the first bit of real light coming from the main castle. |
Dumont...the Muggle Studies professor? Rapunzel raised an eyebrow at this bit of information. "Dumont got a boggart...hmm...." she murmured. "I thought one of the defense professors would be a sponsor..." But no matter; it was definitely something she would be interested in if she found the time to show up. And besides, they were almost back at the kitchen corridor already. "Well, it was nice seeing you again, Antwone," Punz said, politely offering him a handshake. "Perhaps I will make it to the Dueling Club tomorrow...if I find the room..." |
Antwone took her hand into his and shook it politely, topping it with a little bow of his head. "I hope to see you as well," he said plainly. "It was very nice seeing you. Try not to be a stranger, okay? Next time there's a Hogsmeade visit you and my Ravenclaw buddies will go out to the Three Broomsticks, first round of butterbeers on me." ooc: Nice RPing ... Night |
She genuinely grinned at him. What a nice change it was to know friendly Ravenclaw her age - not someone like Kovac Meanieface. "Sure thing. See ya around, then!" Punz waved bye and headed into her common room. She had a lot to do still and so little time. |
"Explain," Cale said dragging his feet down the cobblestones kicking up a nice layer of dust behind him. "Why we're down here? In the dark...musty...slime- oh there's is seriously slime on that wall." He pointed at the green ick coming down the wall near a light sconce. |
Sho turned to see what Cale was looking at. He was right... there was a bit of slime dripping down the way. Taking out his wand, Sho waved it around the slime to clear it up. Sadly the slime trail wasn't the only one... Oh well. Some detention-ite would clean it up. "There we go... kinda," he said to Cale. " And it's very... educational down here." |
"Educational in wh-wh-wha- aaaaa chooooo." Cale sneezed out a large loogey of boogies and promptly wiped his nose on his sleeve. Sniffle, sniffle, cough. "What way exactly?" Cale paused to look at a pile of dust on the ground then turned to look back at Sho. |
Sho jumped back as Cale sneezed. The amount of fluids that came out of the boy was not good. In fact, it looked like the stuff he had just cleaned up. He dug into his pocket for a tissue and handed it to Cale. "You okay, Cale? That was... well it was one heck of an explosion." |
"Yeah, I think." he took the tissue and cleaned up his nose and mouth. "Lots of dust - although I think it was more the mold." He shoved the tissue into his pocket and then shuffled on a few more paces. "So you still haven't explained what's educational about this dank dark place." |
"Potion ingredients, books on various concoctions, all that kind of stuff. Maybe we can find some fancy fertilizer recipe down here," he said, patting Cale on the shoulder. "Or students making out where they shouldn't be!" He chuckled and walked on ahead of Cale. That boy was all for plants... possibly the Librarian too, but he had no proof of that. |
"Making out? Where- do you have any ideas where we could bust- wait," he stopped dead in his tracks as Sho kept walking a little. It was quite the routine for them. Sho shocked him with some sort of news and he stopped moving. "Did you say a recipe for fertilizer? Why would there be a fertilizer recipe down here?" |
Sho shrugged and put his hands in his pockets. Why would there be a recipe down here? He had no clue really, but he did know how to draw people in. If anything there was probably a few ingredients down here that weren't out in the greenhouses, but he didn't know what those would be. "Well... there's lots of stuff down here. You never know what potions master has come across by mistake." |
"Viola!" A voice echoed through the dungoens as a little brown bat fluttered above heads of students. "Viola you come back here I say!" Heels clicked and clapped against the stone floor as Valentine came running down trying to find her small pet. Her long fingers grasped onto her skirt, making sure she wouldn't have a wardrobe malfuntion. Almost tripping three times (silly heels) she finally stopped when noticing two fellow Ravenclaw. "Oh hi boys." she smiled at the two of them fixing her skirt and hair. "Have you seen Viola? I told her to stay put but then she just flew off randomly." |
"Mistake?" Well it certainly would be a mistake for the Potions Master to have a manure recipe. It would serve more pleasurablely served in the hands of the Herbology Professor feeding all those eager plants, making them greener... And then a bat flew over head disrupting his thought process. Cale wondered for a moment why Eddy was down here with Buddy - and then he heard the call of a feminine voice and clacking of heels that accompanied an older female student's gate. A second later Valey came into view. "She went that way," he pointed back down the hall the way that he and Sho had just come. "Watch out for the slime." |
"You know... when you make something when you're trying to make something el-" he said as Val came tumbling down the hall. "You sure you should be wearing heels down here, Val?" His eyebrow rose as he saw her come to a halt, feet wobbling a bit. Didn't she know heels and cobblestones just did not work? Then again they did look good with the uniform he guessed. |
