A natal chart is more exact than just a regular horoscope because the houses of the zodiac revolve one degree every four minutes and a natal chart takes this into account, analysing the unique positioning at your time of birth giving a reading unique to you."

Camira took a second to look at her notes again before raising her hand. It makes sense because natal means of, relating to, or accompanying birth. It is much more detailed than a simple horoscope and will tell you what type of partner and relationship you seek and will be best matched with, what type of job or career your natural strengths and weaknesses are best suited for, and obstacles that need to be overcome in your life. Most importantly, your natal chart will help you to understand your desires, motivations, and why you are the way that you are." Yep. That was everything she'd written.

"A natal chart is uhm... a chart that's drawn for the exact time that someone was born, in a specific place...they're used to kinda learn about the person." He thought for a second. "I think they're also called 'birth charts'? I think they use them in Chinese astrology too, and Indian?"

Ella raised her hand again, "professor, In natal astrology, a natal chart is a horoscope/astrological chart drawn for the exact time of an individual's birth at a particular place on Earth for the purposes of gaining information about the individual. Commonly used alternate names for the natal chart include birth chart, natus, nativity, radix, and genethliac chart, among others" she replied.

Tasha raised her hand. "A natal chart is a way of learning about each other as it tells us about ourselves. It's drawn for the exact time the person is born and for a specific place they are born. It is like an Horoscope or Astrological Chart. It is also known as a 'Birth Chart' in Chinese and Indian Astrology" Her hair changed from a light brown to a bright red as she spoke, her nerves getting the better of her.

"Good! Excellent! Three points.". He was happy that she had mentioned other uses for astrological charts as well.

"Good. Two points."

He turned towards Ella, Astrid and Tasha. "Very good. Three points each."

The Professor nodded slightly. "That's exactly what it is." He listened for a minute as the student went on. "Yes...well...," he said, begining to correct himself. "In Indian astrology, yes, they do, though, they work a bit differently than the Western equivalent. In fact, in Indian astrology, a very strict method of match-making is created based upon a persons birth. The belief being that no matter what, there is always someone out there for you.Two points."

He turned towards the rest of the class. "Indian Astrology will be one of the types of Astrology we'll be studying this term. As will Western. But, I'll let you all vote on the third type. What other astrology would you like to learn about this term? Celtic? African? Aztec? Raise your hands to cast your vote."

Ella said, "I vote for Celtic, Professor.." raised her hand. She didnt not know aanything about Celtic Astrology, she there was no wonder she had chose that.

Qaz raised her hand 'I vote for Chinese'

Astrid loved that question. Honestly, what professors ever let their students help decide what they would like to learn. She smiled at him and raised her hand. "Professor, I would love to learn more about Celtic Astrology." she said.

Nicholai raised his hand, "Professor, can I ask a bit about the three options? And which would your preference be? I really don't know enough about them to choose one."

Raiden's hand shot into the air. "Aztec, please!" he squeaked. He'd loved studying about the Aztecs and Mayans when he was being tutored at home. "Aztecan history was my favorite..."

Camira raised her hand. "I think I'd like to learn about Celtic Astrology, Professor." Wait. Did this mean she was going to be taking Divination this term? Yes, she supposed it did. Camira smiled a bit at the thought. If only her father could see her right now.

"Celtic or Aztec." Jessica answered. "I can't decide between these two."

Erica raised her hand to vote saying "I would like to know more about the Celtic astrology."

Hearing the answers being given so far, Celtic seemed to be the most popular answer.


"I haven't really any preference, Nicolai, and you may ask away." He said.

"Can we learn about Celtic Astrology professor?" Tasha asked. This was the first lesson that the professor had actually asked them what they want to learn. Tasha smiled as she looked round the room as other people asked if they could learn Celtic as well.

Nicholai shrugged, perfectly happy to learn about any of the three types since his curiousity was piqued enough to research the others on his own.

"Whichever we end up with, Celtic by the votes; would you have some reference material on the others I can look at?"

Kayla rolled her eyes at Nicholai before raising her hand. "I wouldn't mind learning Aztec astrology, Professor."

Emily raised her hand “African.” she answered, what with there being Ghanaian blood in the family it might prove to be interesting. Plus throwing bones and dirt and stuff about sounded kinda fun..

"Of course. You're welcome to come by my office, and of course, we should probably check with Madame Kohan and see if she's got anything in the school library worth looking at on the subject, which I believe she does." He took a second to mentally mull through the books on Celtic astrology in his personal library.

"Alright, class, it looks as though we're going to be having a class on Celtic astrology, then, from the vote count, though, we might be able to go over other types later on." He touched his wand to the blackboard and the homework assignment appeared. "For your homework, I'd like for you to chose any type of astrology we went over today. Find out what it says about you, and decide whether or not it rings true. Make sure to include your birthdate, name and house. The assignment may be as long or as short as you like, but bear in mind that the information included is what will be most important factor in credit given. Class is dismissed!"

Jessica wrote the assignment on a parchment, sad that the class would be over so soon.

Astrid took out her quill and quickly jotted down the assignment. As she gathered her things, she decided that a trip to the library was in order so that she could begin her research on Celtic Astrology. "Thank you, Professor." she said as she walked out of the classroom.
