Anna raised her hand again. "They are aware, but I think they're only aware of magic as they have come to believe it to be, and not magic as it truly exists. They have their own version of magical tales. These versions have been added to and taken away from to the point where most of isn't even close to depicting the actual existance of magic," she said.

Melinda shook her head. "I think...the only ones that might be aware of this world..might be...the ones related to students here, and...some government..." She just thought. She wanted to have the right answer anyways. "But...as before, during some dark...ages...they so believed this world existed and even did horrible things to those witches...just because of their fear to this world..:" She commented, remembering a book she had read before in her house library.

Kayla raised her hand. "Well...yeah my dad's a muggle and he knows all about us" she joked.

Astrid raised her hand again and said, "Ma'am, I'm Muggle-born and my family didn't seem to believe in anything like actual wizards and witches until my letter arrived. Saying that they were shocked is like the understatement of the century. So I really don't know." she shrugged her shoulders and continued, "Though, I'm sure that there's some Muggles that have an idea. "

Myths myths myths! Oooh! Rapunzel smiled at the thought as she tried to take a sip of hot chocolate and almost spilled the stuff down her face. She recovered quickly though, and raised her hand.

"Isn't there a Muggle myth about the Loch Ness Monster?" Punz piped up. "Only the Muggles don't know that kelpies are real.....?"

Rae nodded at each statement. "So I think the general consensus here is that some Muggles, other than our families of course, are aware of the existence of magic and magical beings. But their awareness is skewed by rumor and myth, tales passed down over the years so that they get as convoluted and wrong as that story about the Boogie Man we talked about earlier."

Rae crossed her arms and leaned against the back wall. "I have borrowed what is called a... a projector? Yes, a projector from the Ministry so that I might show you some of these Muggle myths. I believe that not only will seeing these myths help us to better understand Muggles, but also to deconstruct what is true and come to a better understanding of Dark creatures ourselves."

She tapped the projector with her wand and the whole thing sprung to life. "Don't be scared. First, I want to show you a humorous little... thingy that shows what Muggles believe of wizards."

I think there are muggles out there who believe that actual magic is real, but I don't think they see magic for what it really is. I believe that muggles are so influenced by what television and movies depict magic to be, thats what they think is real.

Tanjiro leaned back on his seat, raised his eyebrows and tried very hardly not to burst out laughing. He tried thinking of something else, but the progectoor thingy was horrendously funny to him

"Wait a minute!" Rae started to crack up and turned off the projector. "That's the girls' favorite little slide show. This here is the movie." She tapped the projector again.

Ryan couldn't help but burst out laughing. "Professor, what in the world is this?" Oh, how his stomach was hurting from all the laughter.

"Do all of their opinions of us involve catchy songs, 80's techno background music, and awkward animations?"

Astrid had a perplexed look on her face and raised her hand. "Ma'am, I don't understand. Are you saying that Muggles think that all wizards like chocolate?" She wasn't sure whether to laugh or scratch her head. She was very confused.

Then the professor showed a different video and Astrid sighed a HUGE sigh of relief. Still not a very flattering depiction of wizards, but better than the creepy chocolate weirdos. "So this is what they see us as?" she said sadly.

After a moment of complete shock, Christine busted out in laughter. She didn't see what they had to do with anything, but is was funny.

Anna blinked and stared at the pro-whatever in shock for about ten seconds, snapping out her little dazed and confused state in time to catch a good three-fourths of the film. What on Earth? That was what Muggles viewed witches and wizards as being? Were they delusional? Perhaps the professor was suggesting that Muggles viewed the concept of witches and wizards in the same silly manner that the film came across as being. Weird. Unusual. Scary. Muggles were odd little creatures indeed.

Rapunzel sat back in her seat and watched the....er....dancing eggs? Is that what they were? take up the screen. Her eyebrows arched progressively higher and higher into her hairline as the nonsense continued, and then when it was over she blinked and a loud gigglesnort escaped from her mouth.

"What in the name of Merlin's saggy underpants...?" Punz mumbled very, very quietly to herself. She failed to see the magic in that, unless those were real enchanted eggs singing and dancing. They coulda been real, but she hadn't mastered a charm to make anything dance.

She shook her head and then paid attention to the second video. "Oh, this looks familiar!" she said, giggling just a little. "My Muggle brother showed me this once...he said he'd found Hogwarts on the Enterwebz or something." Silly boy, magical cows were for kids!

Melinda watched the projection. Was that really what Muggles believed of us? Melinda thought to herself. Her deciphering was out now. She didn't know what to say or do. Maybe laugh? Nah, hold that to yourself, Melly.

Christine was laughing harder then she had been. It would be really cool if we could do magic out of our hands like that and not need wands Christine said with a hint of laughter still left in her voice

Anna winced and covered her eyes and ears with her hands. How'd that old saying go? See no evil, hear no evil, and...oh, yes---speak no evil. This was awful. Simply horrendous. She didn't think she could stand another second of this. "Professor," she said, raising her hand. "That's a ridiculous viewpoint. Why, that's nothing but a silly looking man standing around doing silly looking magic tricks."

Allie watched both of the videos, and started giggling at both. They were both so..wierd. But the second one was completly ridiculus.(And not ridiculus in a good way.)
"I have no comment."she said, still giggling at little bit.

After noticing the professor's progectoor error, he quietly blended himself to the rest of the class again and started laughing.

The next progectoor thingy showed something else, this time it made more sense. By 1%. After it had ended, Tanjiro said, "Professor, I find that amusing yet ignorant of muggles."

Melinda now bursted out laughing. Both had collected. Nothing could stop her laughter. Nothing. She sat down, trying to quiet herself down and get over the projections just showed.

"So yes... very silly and apparently cows everywhere hate us," Rae laughed too. "I can see some of you are offended by this, but it is simply not knowing. Let me show you another Muggle version of a witch this time." She shook her wand and hit the projector again.

Movie: YouTube - Hocus Pocus - I Put A Spell On You

Ryan laughed because he had seen this movie before. It was an OOOLLLLLDDD one, but his parents seemed particularly fond of it. They watched it almost every Halloween. "I don't know about some of the other people in here," he started (so as not to speak for others....you never knew in these kinds of situations), "but A - my teeth are not that bad, B - my fingernails are not that long, C - my hair is not trimmed like a shrubbery, D - I do not have warts, and E - I do not break out into song whenever I am about to cast a spell." It was still funny.

"Ha!" Anna said, smirking at the current clip being shown. "You know...she's not a half-bad singer if I do say so myself. Quite an interesting depiction of witches, but a fun one nonetheless. Even still, all it really amounts to is a bunch of made-up nonsense." Anna shook her head in complete disbelief. "Catchy little phrase, though. 'I put a spell on you---and now, you're mine.'" As soon as that thought had left her mind, Anna found herself biting her bottom lip in an attempt to keep from giggling out loud in class.

Ari had giggled so much during the last movie she felt like she was going to hiccup, which usually happened. But she stopped at once as she watched the professor tap that weird projector thingy and saw another clip come alive. Her eyes furrowed and she stared, not sure how to respond. "Um, well... I certainly do NOT look like that" she said more to herself than to anyone else. She was offended, but knew that's how Muggles saw them.
