DADA Lesson 2: Creature Feature
 

The Headmistress had a lot of fun pushing all the chairs out of the way to make room for rows and rows of cushy seats all facing the chalkboard. The room smelled of warm melted butter and cocoa, and the room was only half lit.

When she was ready, Professor Rae opened the door to the room and waited for people to show up.

Jenn smiled as she walked in. "Hello Headmistress. Are you teaching today?"she asked. Jenn loved this class. Jenn sniffed around. "Mmm. Smells wonderful."she commented. Looking around she sat on one of the cushy seats.

Melinda walked in the DADa classroom. She had a blank expression on her face. She was ready, though, to begin classes.

She waved and greeted the Headmistress. "Hello, ma'am..." She said and smiled towards her.

The smell caught Melinda's attention as soon as she sat down. Melted butter and cocoa. So sweet. She remembered that smell from when she prepares those delicious cakes she loves to do.

Rapunzel wandered into Defense Against the Dark Arts and took a precursory look around, taking in the delicious smell of the place and the rather cushionary chairs.

Huh, she thought briefly, I wonder if Professor Lainey is rubbing off on her a little...?

Although by the smell of the place, they wouldn't be going outside and crawling around in bushes today - which was perfectly fine with Punzel. Twas too cold and icy for that.

Rae smiled and waved at the girls who had shown up thus far. "Good day to you, girls. I hope you'll find a comfortable seat, just make sure you can see the chalkboard. You don't need any supplies for now." She fiddled with her wand.


ooc: For the record, Rae rubs off on LAINEY. Haha.

Allie walked into the class.
"Hello headmistress!" said Allie, taking a seat. "How are you today?"

Patricia came in, taking a seat next to the other Ravenclaw in the room.
"Hi, Melinda!" she said as she sat down on the cushion, giving her a smile. Her nose finally picked up the wonderfully warm aroma of butter and cocoa. "Mmm, smells nice in here."

As she sat there, she wondered if she was in the right class... was it DADA or cooking class today? Not sure what the answer would be, she shrugged her shoulders and awaited the Headmistress's instructions.

Jenn nodded. "I will."she said to the Headmistress. Jenn looked around. So far, no one she knew really well was here. Sigh.

Ryan bounced into DADA. He was always excited for this class, and today was no exception. "Hello, Professor," he said, smiling. As soon as he entered the classroom, he plopped down next to Rapunzel and gave her a gentle nudge.

He noticed a pleasant smell in the air and turned his nose up, sniffing around. "Professor, what smells so delicious?"

Astrid strolled into the classroom and grabbed the seat right next to Allie. "Hello Headmistress!" she said, brightly. "How are you today, ma'am?"

Melinda smiled back to the Ravenclaw girl who had come in and sat next to her. "Hello, Patricia...how are you?" She said, still in her blank expression.

She nodded her head to Patricia and smiled, "Yes...it does..." She assured her.

Melinda smiled when Professor Rae showed everyone bags of buttery popcorn. She loved popcorn!!

She took a bag of popcorn and passed it on to the next student in line.

Allie took some took a bag of popcorn from Melinda, then past it on to Astrid.

"Thanks Allie!" She said as she took a bag of popcorn and passed it on to Anna with a smile. "Here Anna!"

Anna's face broke out into a smile as she saw that Professor Rae was passing out bags of buttery popcorn to the class. Popcorn was always a nice treat. Anna watched as Astrid accepted a bag of popcorn and then moved to pass it on. Anna took the bag from Astrid, got her share of the popcorn, and then did as she was told and passed it on.

Sure she does, sure. ;)
 

Buttery popcorn AND hot cocoa?! Rapunzel's eyebrows popped up and she turned to grin at Ryan. He would probably love this lesson just because they were getting free food.

Punz accepted a bag and then passed him one. She had no idea how this was going to relate to Dark Arts, but surely it would all work out. Er, like things usually did at Hogwarts.

"I'm getting some chocolate," she mumbled, bouncing up to retrieve two mugs. Dude, the hot chocolate just made this lesson her favorite of the term so far. History of Magic was going to have some competition this term.

Oooh...yummy hot cocoa! Kayla made her way up to the front of the class and grabbed a mug for herself and walked back to her seat, careful not to spill any on herself or anyone else.

Mmm! Hot Cocoa! Astrid's favorite drink ever. And with popcorn! This was going to be an excellent class. She set her popcorn down, careful not to spill any, and went to the cupboard to grab a steamy cup of cocoa. Then she bent her head down to smell that amazing chocolaty aroma before returning to her seat.

OK. Now. This is proclaimed Melinda's favorite class in the week just because of her favorite food, among all the others, were given free by the professor.

She stood up to get a mug for her and Patricia, coming back to her seat carefully on not to spill not a single drop of cocoa around the place. "There you have..." She said, handing it to Patricia.

Yay! Hot cocoa!
Alli ealked up and took a cup, then went to go sit back down in her seat. Once she got comfortable again, she blew on the cocoa to cool it off, then took a sip, and waited for the class to go on.
