Jenn smiled and said "Finite Incantatem!!" loudly. She was disapointed when it stopped just before it hit her. Usally it did it when it was fairther away. Oh well, it stopped it, that's all that mattered.

"Nice," Kairi said lowering her wand, "You're a good duelist Jenn," she said with a wink, "But don;t forget us little people when you're off singing with the stars,"

Upon hearing a familiar looking female also state she needed a partner, Dominic's first reaction was to hide in the corner. Why female? And why someone who looked like a first or second year? Taking a deep breath, he flashed a look over towards Mr Myers. He'd want them working together and so Dominic would do just that ...

"You can partner with me," he called to the fellow badger, perhaps her only saving feature. Five foot distance at minimum kept at all times... "Want to practice stopping the charm first?" He asked, thinking of which charm he'd cast at her.

Maddox smiled as Astrid got his wand out of his hand again. When the professor began to speak and gave them their instructions he mumbled, "Finite Incantatum." He sighed a little.

WHen the Professor told them they could go ahead and practice he turned to Astrid and said, "Alright Astrid. This one is a bit harder, but i still want you to go first. These are the proper wand movements. I dont think you will be able to get it the first time but you ahve to be quick. As soon as i get my spell out you have to yell Finite Incantatum. Be ready." He took a long breath and quickly called out, "Glisseo!"

Astrid nodded at Maddox as he explained what she needed to do. Oh goodness! she thought. She had seen what he could do with a wand and was in no hurry to have him start casting spells at her but....it had to be done. Might as well get it over with. "Okay, I'm ready." she said, still a little unsure.

She held her wand out in front of her, and took a deep breath. She concentrated all of her efforts on stopping whatever Maddox was going to hit her with. When he said 'Glisseo', She had to fight the effort to close her eyes. She immediately shouted, "Finite Incantatum." Happy, and somewhat shocked that it had worked the first time, Astrid just smiled and said, "Did you SEE that?" She giggled quietly and said, "Okay, your turn."

Diana looked at the boy,whom he had been already told the name of.She found that the boy was looking a little uncomfortable.After all she was younger than him.She did feel annoyed ny the tone and gesture of the boy,but she replied politely"Yeah,I can partner you.We can practice the stopping charm.I'll defend I gues?"

Laylee smiled as she turned to Maura. She was nervous, but she knew the spell well, and knew Maura had nothing to worry about. She did it quickly so there would be no pain or suspense. "Expelliarmus!" She shouted over the crowd. Maura's wand flew across the room and landed in Laylee's open hand. She smiled and walked over to her friend. "Here you go!"
She listened to the Professor, and watched the demonstration. "You can go first this time!" Laylee said smiling.

Dominic saw the hesitancy in the younger girl when he asked if she'd be his partner. Oh it's nothing... it's just cause she's a girl... he told himself, blaming it on that detail. "Sounds good. Ready?" he asked, not taking his gaze off her, he raised his wand and undergoing a careful wand movement, the fourth uttered, "Tarantallegra!"

Camira glared at the Huffie girl partnered with Dominic. That stupid little... She wanted him to be her partner. Besides, they were both 4th years so they would have been easily matched. What kind of challenge would that be for him, partering up with some little girl.

She decided she was being way too...something, and turned away. She looked around for a partner. What did they do if they couldn't find one? She didn't want to raise her hand.

Lizzie watched as Jenn managed Finite Incantatum alright. With a smile she turned to Kairi, You wanna try it? I can do my best and cast stupefy at you if you want me to... she said.

"Oh, okay, nice to meet you, Rachel. I'm Nancy." Also watching the boy demonstrating the spell and trying to remember the wand movement she smiled a bit. Well, all of those practice-lessons with her father were coming in handy now at Hogwarts. "Okay, let's start. Mind if I start?" Nancy didn't wait for an answer but just pointed her wand at the girl and said with a little movement of her wand, "Expelliarmus!" Quickly catching Rachel's wand before it would fall onto the floor in front of her she handed it back to the girl standing a few meters away from her with a smile. "Okay, that went...uhm...well? There you go. Wanna give it a try as-"

But she was interrupted by the professor who told them to watch some Ravenclaws demonstrate the next spell. Watching them she remembered having already practiced this spell as well with her dad last summer. Still it was Rachel's turn to practice now so she turned back to her and said, "Okay, now it's your turn. I'll cast a spell on you and you try to block it with Finite Incantatem, okay?" Gripping her wand firmly in her hand she added, "Ready? Tarantallegra!" Watching the stream of light shoot towards Rachel she wondered whether the girl would be able to stop it in time.

"Ok, thanks Lizzie," Kairi said with a small smile. She took a deep breath and raised her wand. Finite Incantatem, she thought inside her head, That was the spell, now just remember... she thought, as she waited for Lizzie to cast the spell.

Lizzie saw Kairi get ready to cast Finite Incantatum, so she got ready for Stupefy. I can do this, I can do it. Even though I didn't totally manage it last time. Kairi did it a minute ago, I can too! She focused and pointed her wand at Kairi, saying Stupefy! loudly.

A large flash of red light errupted from Lizzie's wand and for one split second Kairi's large purple eyes flickered white, as if excepting the fight, but Kairi pushed it away, and yelled, "Finite Incantatem!" Lizzie's spell was stopped just before it hit its target. Kairi let out a sight of relief, "Nice Stupefy, Duke," she said with a small grin.

Lizzie grinned widely when realising she'd managed to cast the spell, and Kairi had protected herself well. Happy she looked at Kairi. Mind if I try now?

Having finshed cleaning the ink off his hand, Nico stepped away from Celandine and approached Camira, clearing his throat.

"Sure, go ahead," Kairi said, raising her wand again.

Lizzie got ready, repeating Finite Incantatem in her head. Taking a deep breath she pointed her wand at Kairi. I'm ready.

Caleum walked around watching the students. He finally got the chance to teach his first complete class on casting any type of spell without the interruption of...well...girls like what happened at Cooper last term. He was happy to see the students learning something and it thrilled him the most to see those students with a surprised yet grateful look as they finally did the right thing for the first time. It brought back memories of himself as a young student at Hogwarts.

"You are all doing terrific," he said as he continued watching and walking around. He wanted to make sure that everyone did the spells properly and that there were no complications at all.

She was still just sitting there, all annoyed and jealous and grrrrr, when someone cleared their throat. Someone who was apparently close to her. She looked up. Oh, it was Nico. "Hey there. What's up", she said, trying to sound casual.

"Ok," Kairi said, aiming her wand at Lizzie, "Stupefy!" she said, and flash of red errupted from her wand.

Nicholai rolled his eyes and held his wand up, waving it at her in illustration. Time for her to wake up. "Tarantallegra!" Nicholai cast at her. He figured the jinx to make her dance would be a good one for her to practice the finite incantatem on.

Lizzie yelled out Finite Incantatem!! but sadly she'd got kinda surpriced, and wasn't really sure how to move the wand and that together didn't work well at all. With a surpriced little scream she was stunned.

Kairi winced as the spell hit Lizzie. She ran over to her, "Duke? Are you ok?"

She had not expected that. One minute Nico had come up to her and the next, her legs were dancing everywhere. What was she supposed to do again? Oh, right. She pointed to her legs, which actually proved to be quite difficult. "Finite Incantatem", she said firmly. Please let it work.
