Sketiching. Oh how fun. Not. First she had to touch an animal and now she had to sketch the same animal. Well, at least she had earned five points. And during Care of Magical Creatures--now talk about the unexpected happening. What was gonna happen next? She earning points in Herbology. Snort. Skidding over to hear seat, Willow took out out some parchment and began to make an sketch of one of the Clabbert, just as a little crease apparead on her forehead. After having finished it, the girl appraised her drawing, cocking one eyebrow. Eh--well, she was not an artist, after all. SPOILER!!: clabbert Ooc: As you can clearly see in this little drawing, I cannot draw to save my lfe. xD -hides- 4/5 |
Anna looked around at all her fellow student's drawings. "Good job, everyone! The clabberts would be proud!" she said, glancing over at Lucas', Cale's, Allie's, and Melinda's drawings, as well as the drawings of a few other's nearby. Anna was very impressed. Everyone was trying so hard. Quote:
Anna blinked when suddenly, and with warning, mind you, Cale's quill and parchment flew into the air and right past her head. Anna's mouth flew open in surprise and she looked up at the flying quill and parchment, missing the fact that Cale had now tripped and landed right on top of the clabbert. "Cale!" Anna shrieked. "Are you okay? Is Canna okay?" Anna looked back towards the professor, about to call for help. Suddenly, Anna felt a swift blow in her back, and the next thing she knew, she'd been knocked straight into the air, where she stayed for only a second before falling with a thud to the ground. |
Astrid quietly regarded the little clabbert that Allie and her had befriended. She decided to take a shot at petting it now, so she offered her hand slowly and waited patiently for it to come to her. After a few moments it reached it's head forward and she gently patted it on the head. She continue patting his head as she sketched its unusually adorable face. When she was all done, she held it up for the professor to see. SPOILER!!: Sketch 3/5 |

Melinda looked at Anna, who had, in seconds fallen to the ground. An instant KO. "Anna..." She called out to her. No answer. Oh, dear. |
Allie hear Anna screaming, and then the Professor asking if she was ok. She turned around to see Anna lying on the ground. "Oh my God!" said Allie. "Is Anna okay?" |

He looked back at Lucas, who had begun to cry and frowned. "Oh, don't cry Lucas! It's ok! Canna isn't hurt, he just got scared, that's all," he said, pointing to the circling clabbert as he slowed and started to calm down. "Did you hurt yourself?" he asked. |
Jumping up, Liz sees Anna now on the ground. "I knew it! These things are dangerous..." Liz says to herself, afraid to go any closer, but yet wanting to make sure Anna was okay. |

Dominic finally looked over from the clabbert at Camira's tone and noticed her smile. His first true smile that he received here, which meant she truly meant that about Slytherpuff. Sighing happily, the fourth year returned to his petting of the creature, pleased it hadn't done anything to harm them. Once he'd pet the creature for a few moments, he turned away and went to draw slytherpuff, as per the professor's instructions earlier. Making sure to carefully highlight the colors and the large red pustule on its forehead, he finally finished, setting down his quill. He picked up his wand and performed the color changing charm, in order to add colors to the little creature where necessary and finished by adding his name to the document. SPOILER!!: Clabbert Sketch ooc: Yes I drew this by hand. Yes I realize I can't draw for my life. Don't be too crude please =] 4/5 Quote:

"Oh Lucus don't cry!" This was just making her feel worse. Sophie conjured up a stretcher and levitated Anna onto it. Sophie turned to the class. "I'm going to take Anna to the Hospital wing. Don't worry, she'll be fine." Again, she hoped. "The rest of you finish your drawing and I'll come back with the homework." Sophie said, trying not to sound upset. "Cale, you can come too." |
Helios was day dreaming again. He detested the petting zoo approach to these lessons. Back home his lessons were marked with blood, an education in scars. Things were happening, his gloved hand reaching inside his robes for his olive branch wand. |

She couldn't believe that this was the same guy that had thrown jelly slugs at her, though she guessed she deserved it. He was so...nice and smart and talented and...Okay, calm down Yaxley. You need to stop thinking these things, she told herself. She shook her head slightly to get rid of the thoughts. "So, when do you want to find lizards for him", she asked. She immediately felt stupid. He never said they were going to do it together, did he? |

Oh no, oh no, oh no. Now Lucus was bleeding. Great! "Lucus are you ok? Come on, lets get to the hospital wing." Sophie said, now panicking. "The rest of you can continue with what you are doing and I'll be back." She leveitated Anna and slowly made her way towards the hospital wing, with Lucus and Cale by her side. OOC: I'm going to stop class here for now. You may keep posting RPing and sketching. |

He couldn't believe that she actually liked it... and why was he acting like this? For merlin's sake, she threw chocolate at him just a few weeks prior! But now, well, they were acting like he guessed old friends would act. And then she asked him when he wanted to find lizards for him. Oh no; she hadn't expect to go along with him, did she? Well, he'd clear that up. "Hmm, good question, but I think that I will go maybe later today." Then he heard the professor mentioning about taking Anna to the hospital wing. Of course she would take the prefect herself; as if she'd trust a student alone with the Gryffindor. Her Gryffindor. And then now Lucas was going too, cause it appeared the boy had fallen and was bleeding. That was when he knew this was his opportunity to look for lizards now. "Actually, I think I will look right now." |

Ouch! It was very clear that Dominic didn't want her to go with him to find lizards for Slytherpuff. "Um...right. I'll just stay here and pet him, I guess", she said, not quite managing to keep the disappointment out of her voice. She didn't get it. They were getting along so well. Why didn't he want her to come? Besides, Slytherpuff was theirs, kind of. They should be doing stuff for him together. Oh well. "I've come back to give you more pets", she said gently, walking slowly back over to Slytherpuff. "And Dominic is going to find you some yummy lizards." She tried to be enthusiastic, but it wasn't the same as before. Oh really, you're turning into a Hufflepuff. Suck it up, she reminded herself silently. |
sorry for the looong post - trying to catch up! Mariel walked out on the grounds to the Care of Magical Creatures class. It really was a beautiful sunny day, but a bit brisk, she thought as she pulled her cloak tight around her and arrived to class. And now they were supposed to sit on a… what? A log? Mariel wrinkled her nose at the thought of all the possible insects infesting the rotting piece of wood and gingerly sat down, laying her bag next to her. This professor must be some kind of nature fanatic, she thought to herself. But that would only make sense, as she was the COMC teacher – that came with the job, right? So, they were going to study clabberts today. She knew what they were and quite honestly was not that thrilled about it. Pustules sounded too much like pimples – ick. She just couldn’t get that excited about reptilian monkeys with skin problems. Then the professor once again addressed the class. Are you ready to meet the clabberts? Mariel inwardly groaned. No, she was not ready to meet the clabberts, especially if that meant touching them. That would not happen if she could help it. And now they had to pair up. Looking around furtively, she noticed that the class was mostly older students that she didn’t know. And too many of them seemed to be way too excited about ‘meeting’ clabberts. She would keep to herself for now and let someone come to her if they wanted – hopefully one that wasn’t overly eager for some hands-on learning. Maybe there was an odd number of students. Jenn was the one who talked her into taking this class, and where was she now? Sigh. Mariel’s eyes widened slightly as the professor suggested approaching the creature. She watched as others did so, but she kept a safe distance. Then it was suggested that they actually patted the beast and she was pretty sure she heard a few girls squealing about how cute they were. Did they not see the teeth on these things?! Sketching was something she could do. And that required no touching and could still be done from a relatively safe distance. Settling herself back down on the moldy log, she pulled out some parchment and a quill. She absorbed herself in her sketch, mostly so she could appear busy and have a good excuse not to have to have any actual contact with the beasts. When finished, Mariel glanced around at some of the other sketches and frowned a bit as it seemed the others used color-changing spells to add color to theirs. She didn’t know that spell yet. Hopefully the professor would understand, since she was a first year. Adding a few finishing touches and some labels, Mariel was happy with her fairly detailed sketch. SPOILER!!: sketch Wow! 8/5 bonus 3 :xd: A loud shriek caught her attention as she snapped her head up from her drawing to observe the commotion. She wasn’t sure exactly what had happened but she saw one of those clabberts running straight for a girl and knocking her down and Lucus got hurt in the commotion as well. Mariel watched with wide eyes as the professor led them off to the hospital wing. I’m glad I kept a safe distance then, she thought, turning her attention back to her drawing. |
OOC: Still working on my sketch...might edit later... Yeah! Nancy had really been looking forward to the Care of Magical Creatures lesson. She simply loved all kinds of animals. Well, except for toads. They were sort of freaking her out. Hopefully they wouldn't be working with them during today's class. Glancing around the group of students who were already there she spotted a few quite familiar faces but didn't exactly feel like walking up to any of them. She didn't know why herself but whatever. Smiling at the professor Nancy listened to her telling them what they were going to work with today. Clabberts? They kind of sounded familiar but she didn't know what they were or what they looked like. Well, this problem was solved a few minutes later when a group of clabberts emerged from the forest. Instinctively taking a few steps back almost bumping into some other students she looked at the creatures suspiciously. They looked kind of...dangerous? But the professor wouldn't have brought them if they were, right? At professor's instruction to pair up Nancy started looking at the group of students surrounding her in search for a partner. Finally she spotted Camira but just as she wanted to call out for her she had already asked somekind of Hufflepuff boy Nancy remembered vaguely from her last Charms lesson. Was he called Dominic? She wasn't sure but didn't exactly care right now either. She needed a partner after all. Being unsuccessfull with that she decided that she was probably able to approach the clabbert on her own as well. Slowly walking towards one of them, the one that least looked like it was going to eat her, she tried to keep on smiling like the professor had told them. "Ssh. I'm not going to hurt you." Since it remained just sitting there looking up at her she dared to touch it. Carefully she petted its head and then, since it didn't show any signs of annoyance, continued to stroke its back as well. What? Sketch it? Nancy was the worst drawer ever. Well, she at least had to try, right? Squatting down she took a piece of parchment and started, as best as she could, to draw the clabbert. Looking at her finished drawing she wasn't sure if it was good enough but it was the best she had been able to come up with. Then suddenly the Gryffindor prefect was attacked by her clabbert so that the professor had to take her to the Hospital Wing. Uh-oh! Hopefully she was going to be fine. She threw her clabbert a quick suspicious look. Hopefully it wasn't going to attack her as well. |
Gwen looked up in the middle of her drawing as Canna the clabbert tackled Anna, her mouth a round O of surprise. Boy had Anna been having a...tough term. If it was someone else she might've laughed; being attacked by a clabbert was actually kinda funny. She bent her head in concentration, and finished her drawing with a flourish. She leaned back and looked at it appraisingly. Well, she was no artist, that was for sure. SPOILER!!: Gwen's clabbert 4/5 |
Faye rolled her eyes of course Cale would cause an accident like this during class. The clabbert he had tripped over had calmed down so she went over to it so she could sketch but kept a good distance between them in case it wanted to attack her too. |
Sophie walked back down to where the class was, still upset at what had happened, but both students would be fine. She pointed her wand and wrote the homework up on the board. CoMC Homework 1- Question 1: What is a Clabbert? (1 point) Question 2: Describe the physical attributes of a Clabbert. (2 points) Question 3: How were the Clabberts affected by the wizards and witches? (2 points) Question 4: What do the pustules look like for muggles? Who fined wizards and witches for having Clabberts in sight of muggles (2 points) Question 5: Why is it important for creatures to remain in their natural habitat? (3 points) “Please write down your homework, finish up your drawing and then you may be excused.” Sophie said to the class. |
Patricia had stayed a bit behind the clutter of students that had gone toward the Clabberts and had to laugh at the reactions that the gentle creatures had elicited from them. Shaking her head, she took a few steps toward the nearest one, smiling as had instructed the professor. She went down on her knees, hoping that being a bit lower to the ground would be less threatening to the little creature that stood a few meters away. She took her sketch pad in hand and started to draw a rough outline, details being added later on. Not trying to pay too much attention to the Clabbert, it eventually came forward, listening to the scratching she was producing with her pencil. As she continued sketching, a smile still on her lips, she took into account the different textures of the green skin and the pustule atop its head. It was really interesting to see from close-up rather than in a picture book. The teeth were quite daunting to see though... but they were pacific creatures on the whole, so she wasn't unduly worried about it. She saw that the Clabbert was now very close to her, so she reached out, showing it the back of her hand rather than her open palm. It gave her hand a sniff hesitantly, but didn't step away, which made Patricia beam with happiness. She finally got to pet the little guy... girl... she wasn't sure about what sex it was. She wondered a bit about it as she touched its green skin. Seeing that the class was finally over, she took back her hand and stepped away slowly from the creature. She gave her sketch a once over and took it back to where the teacher was still standing and gave it in. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...e/Clabbert.jpg 4/5 |
