Professor Shackleton entered the Charms classroom very slowly. Though she knew that Professor Hawkins would not be in there, she felt the need to let her eyes search the room for her. Convinced the room was empty, Professor Shackleton entered with two very large bags in hand, the odor from which was rather unpleasant, almost stinky feet-like.
As she reached the front of the room, Macadrian pulled a small rectangular table closer to her, laid out a blue checkered tablecloth and placed upon it the following items: two bottles of milk and two silver platters with dome-shaped coverings hiding their content.
She then stood beside the table, rocking slightly forward and back, anxiously waiting for students to arrive, knowing that all would be inquisitive about her presence in the Charms classroom, and more likely, Professor Hawkins absence. | |

Odoris Subsisto, Rapunzel repeated in her head. Hum, she could figure that one out. "Does this charm er, repress the smell of the cheese?" Punz raised her hand. "Or does it just make it stop stinking overall?" Subsist was like, stop, right?
Eh, maybe there was a reason she wasn't in Ravenclaw after all.

Callie smiled as she got two points for her obvious great answer. She heard the Proffesor speak an incantation and she tried figuring out. It had odor as a base word and subsist as they other. Putting two and two together it sounded like it meant to make the odor for away.
Trying her guess she reaised her hand and spoke, "To make the odor lessen or go away comepletely." She had to get this right. Roots were always the best way to get and answer.

With a smile on her lips, Macadrian confirmed, "Yes, indeed. The incantation does indeed give away the nature of the charm. One point to all those who determined that this is an Anti-Odor Charm! And now, you're all probably anxious to find out how to perform this charm so that you can get to work clearing the room of the stinkiness, yes?"
Macadrian removed her wand from her robes and displayed the wand movement for this spell, "In order to successfully perform the Anti-Odor Charm, you must point your wand at the cheese, then performed a short downward diagonal motion from the left to the right, a long straight upward stroke, and another short downward diagonal slash from left to right. As you make this wand movement, you should say the incantation."
Macadrian picked up the platter with several small pieces of cheese on it and walked up and down the aisles handing out one piece of parmesan and one piece of Stinking Bishop to each student. She explained, "I would like you all to first practice the Anti-Odor Charm for the Parmesan. It is a less stinky cheese and is thus, easier to enchant. First practice the incantation alone, then the wand movement alone, and then put them together.
"Once you've accomplished the charm for the Parmesan, move onto the Stinking Bishop and do the same, step by step. Remember - 'Odoris Subsisto Parmesan' and 'Odoris Subsisto Stinking Bishop.' Good luck." OOC: Please RP your character practicing this charm while I am away. I will resume the lesson tomorrow with more charms. Thanks and enjoy

Ludo took his piece of Parmesan cheese as it was offered to him, taking note on the wand movement and incantation.
"Good more practical magic..." he thought.
He took his wand out of his robes pocket and looked down at the square of cheese. A light odor emitted from it, and, just as Professor had said, was no where close to the odor coming from the other cheeses.
Pointing his wand at the cheese he moved it diagonally down to the left, up, and then diagonally down to the right. As he did he said clearly, "Odoris...Subsisto...Parmesan!"
He set his wand down on his desk, and picked up his plate. He put his nose close to the cheese and sniffed. Nothing. No odor, just cheese. Ludo smiled, though he knew it would be harder for the next cheese type.

As the Professor placed two pieces of smelliness on the Desk in front of her, Christine gagged again, and had to force down the urge to blow chunks. She had a very sensitive sense of smell and a weak stomach, but fought against that at the sudden horror that came over her when she thought of the embarrassment she would feel if she did blow chunks in class. Christine leaned as far back in her chair as she could, took a deep breath, and began to practice the wand movements. | |

Astrid held her nose with her left hand while taking the cheese that was being offered to her with her right. She gave the Professor a crooked smile and said, "Erm...Thanks!" She pulled her wand from her robe and started practicing the wand movements. Having the Stinking Bishop right there on her desk was enough to make her eyes start to water. She pulled a tissue from her pocket and dabbed the corners of her eyes before going on.
Astrid pointed her wand at the cheese and made a short downward diagonal motion from the left to the right, then a long straight upward stroke, and another short downward diagonal slash from left to right. She tried this movement over and over again until it felt just right and then she practiced saying the incantation a few times. First with 'Odoris Subsisto Parmesan' and then moving on to 'Odoris Subsisto Stinking Bishop'. She couldn't wait to put it all together so that her watering eyes might have some relief. She placed the tissue over her nose for a moment before attempting the spell. She wanted to get it right the first time she tried it and hopefully covering her nose from the stench would help her concentrate.

Cale was not really a cheese person. He liked cheddar cheese and that was about it--when it got into the relam of stinky, gross, foreign cheeses that could either be mold or just something weird he was very reluctant to even go near them. Sighing and picking up his wand, he vaguely wondered how this spell could possibly be of use to him in the future. By the time he did find a use for it he probably would have forgotten it. "'Odoris Subsisto Parmesan" he muttered, waving his wand the way Shackleton had shown them and cautiously sniffing the cheese to see if it smelled. It had a very very slight odor, so he took that to mean he had been somewhat sucessful.
