Professor Shackleton entered the Charms classroom very slowly. Though she knew that Professor Hawkins would not be in there, she felt the need to let her eyes search the room for her. Convinced the room was empty, Professor Shackleton entered with two very large bags in hand, the odor from which was rather unpleasant, almost stinky feet-like.
As she reached the front of the room, Macadrian pulled a small rectangular table closer to her, laid out a blue checkered tablecloth and placed upon it the following items: two bottles of milk and two silver platters with dome-shaped coverings hiding their content.
She then stood beside the table, rocking slightly forward and back, anxiously waiting for students to arrive, knowing that all would be inquisitive about her presence in the Charms classroom, and more likely, Professor Hawkins absence. | |

Ryan scooched over closer to Rapunzel. Whatever was in those containers smelled rancid, and she was the closest pleasant-smelling person/thing to which he was willing to move. He caught a wiff of her hair and coughed. The smell of her hair had begun to mix with the nastiness, which wasn't a good thing. It was kind of a nauseatingly sweet smell...like when you're in a candle shop for too long and all the scents blend together. He opted for breathing through his robes instead.
"I know what that smell is," he said, gasping for clean air. "It's Dominic's quidditch socks wrapped in a dirty diaper, isn't it?" He crossed his arms, leaned back in his chair, and looked very smug with himself. He knew he was right.

Daphne tried her best to ignore the smell, but the instructor had to bring it up. She had been breathing through her mouth and was reluctant to let this poisonous air into her nasal passages. She didn't want to identify whatever was under those lids, but the stench was too strong not to affect her. She was beginning to taste the awful smell, like a snake. Taking a deep breath through her nose, she thought it smelled like really, really rotten cheese. She coughed and gagged as the air filled her lungs. She raised her hand. "Cheese?" she asked, looking longingly at the door, wanting to run out.

Callie looked up at the Proffesor as she gave the students a weird assignment. She heard Ryan's comment and laughed. "I second that." she said as her nose got a wiff of the smell under the lid. "it's smells gross Proffesor," she added plugging her nose with her fingers.
Callie then gave her guess since she new the Pompous boy's socks was not actually it. "How about essence of skunk?" she guessed.

Ryan smiled because he was able to make the professor laugh. One of his favorite things to do in life was make people laugh. "How about an an anti-aging charm?" he suggested (this was his serious suggestion). And of course, he had to follow up with something funny, so he added, "Or you could just let me grate the Parmesan over some spaghetti. Then the smell would be gone...or part of it, at least."

Callie heard the Proffesor as she commented on two of the comments made. And then Callie watched as she described the cheese in the box. Callie wasn't found of cheese unless it was string cheese or on sandwitches and smelling it wasn't helping that liking either.
Callie raised her hand, "Well you could use Engorgio to make the cheese bigger in case you happen to like a profuse amount of cheese," she stated, "or the charm could suffiently made the cheese block an opening."she added.

Thankfully Professor Shackleton spoke again, breaking up the Ravenclaw's disgraceful suggestion about his quidditch socks - which did not smell THAT badly. And she just had to go and bring up the cookies, didn't she? "Perfume just smells disgusting in general, Professor," the fourth year shook his head and sighed apologetically. "My sincerest apologies, but that prefect is near impossible to get a hold of. I think he might be ignoring me . . . "
The badger listened as she went on to explain that she did indeed bring cheese. Ugh! Shaking his head, he tried to rack his brain for some type of charm pertinent to cheese. "What about diffindo?" he offered, raising his hand.

Kaitlynn relaxed in her seat when Professor Shackleton informed the class what the smell was. She thought about the question for awhile, but was having a hard time coming up with a thought that made sense. 'The cleaning spell maybe? Just to get rid of the stuff that has gone bad on the outside.' She suggested.

Rapunzel had snorted at her boyfriend's suggestion about the socks. It was true, Dominic Denton could be a stinky boy who refused to wear gloves. But she had no idea how cheese - especially stinky cheese - could relate to charms.
"Um....are we talking about charming the cheese here?" Punz whispered to Ryan. She was lost. "Maybe you could use a charm that er.....makes it more appealing?"

Sure Melinda knew about the second one, she used that on her recipe for pizzas, but this one was so gross smelling and along with the other one, sure put Melinda almost to the throwing up face.
She sighed and thought about the answer from the professor. She tried to remember the last chapter she had read. Smelling Charms? She questioned herself that doubt. "I totally go with the anti-aging charm...as they say..." She said, with her nasel sound still, not really breathing.

Macadrian was nearly in a fit of laughter listening to the responses from the students. Some of them were rather entertaining and all were original. "You all are incredibly creative and have provided excellent examples of charms we could perform on this cheese. Two points for each guess!
"Several of you have already suggested the charms we will be attempting today, the first of which is has the following incantation: 'Odoris Subsisto' followed by the name of the cheese. And what do you think this incantation does to the cheese?"
