Callie turned back towards the rest class to address what was becoming a bit of a crazy situation.

"As much fun as some of you might think this is, it's still a serious lesson. What if these were something other than water balloons you were trying to levitate and it fell on you? The water is just a reminder for you to keep concentrating until you are completely done casting your charm. A cold reminder, but a good reminder all the same."

Cale could have easily let his anger that Nico had just been awarded points for some stupid spell show on his face, but he was better than that. And him. Whatever, let him earn points. They needed them anyways. Smirking, he shook his head with Nico handed him Liesel's handkerchief and pulled out his wand. "No thank you Nico, I think I'll just use the spell that you yourself demonstrated. Tergeo," he murmered, remembering the spell from a lesson his mum had taught two years ago. Second later, his robe had been dried as well as his hair, although the volume was no where near the level he had gotten it to before class.

He smirked. Bwahaha, he had just shown Nico Toussiant up at his own game. And no one would ever know that his socks were still wet. That little detail, in Cale's opinion, was unimportant.

"Should we let someone else come up here and try, Professor?" he asked, turning to the professor and smiling. He was quite ready to just get back to his seat and continue this lesson.

James watched the prefects demonstrate the levitating charm. He found this a quite good review, seeing as his spell-casting had gone a tad bit rusty during the summer. He looked at a girl who seem really out of it sitting near her. He leaned over towards her.
"A bit dull, isn't it?" he asked her. He didn't seem to mind the simplicity of today's lesson. And he was quite glad that they were going over the levitating charm. He just wanted to say hello to MJ, without getting in trouble. He held his wand tightly in his left hand.

Mari returned Ludo's expression with one that said, " I know, right? and then she looked forwards again as Professor Hawkins spoke to Nico and then the class. Hawkin's words made sense, she thought and then grimaced as she pictured something heavy falling on someone's foot or something else unpleasant. Well, at any rate, Mari wouldnt' be dropping anything. Well, unless nothing was dropped on her first that is.

For perhaps the second time in his life, Tino had actually been paying attention to the lesson (the first time being when Bon-Bon Luvo had set his sister's hair on fire in DADA). He was feeling rather unpleasant about the whole business, however. Professor Hawkins had said the 'c' word. Concentration. Tino could barely concentrate long enough to spell the dang word. How was he supposed to levitate a water balloon for ten seconds when his attention span -- holy schnikies, what was coming out of that girl's ear? Was that earwax?

Fascinated, Tino stared at the head of the student next to him.

Callie watched eagerly as Cale gave the charm another go. "Don't drop it, Don't drop it," she silently rooted for Cale.

The balloon levitated over Anna's head. "7 . . .8 . . . 9 . . . 10! Phew he did it." Callie thought as she began to chant to herself, "Just bring it safely to the desk . . . safely down on the . . . "

"Oooh Cale! That was so close. Good job. Thank you for trying. You'll have an opportunity to keep practicing in just a moment."

Turning to the Slytherin boy, Callie asked, "Would you care to help Cale dry off his robes please?"

For the rest of you, I think 5 points each is warranted to these Prefects. They gave it a good attempt, wouldn't you say. A round of applause please for them," she said as she turned and told Anna and Cale that they could both return to their seats.

"Alright class, now it's your turn! I'd like everyone to come to my desk and grab a few balloons and pair off in groups of 2 to 4 people each. One a time, each of you will have the opportunity to levitate a balloon over your partner's head for 10 full seconds and return your balloon to the desk."

"I don't want to see anyone casting any other charms on the balloons other than the levitation charm, is that understood. Remember, it's Win-Gar-Dium Levi-O-Sa, say it clearly and confidently, keep your concentration and you should do just fine!"

"If there are no questions, you may begin!"

I'm going to be heading out for the night. This thread will be left open for you to RP your characters. Please be respectful of one another, and keep chatting to a minimum. And please . . . No fighting! Balloons will be dropped, no one was ever harmed by a little bit of cold water! This was all meant to be fun! So what are you waiting for? Get RPing and have some fun!

"Fair enough." Nicholai responded in the same 'pleasant' tone Cale had used. He turned in his seat and passed Liesel her handkerchief, shooting her a wink before facing front again.

As Cale turned to address the professor a tell-tale squelch sounded from the vicinity of his feet that wouldn't have been heard any further away than where Nico was sitting.

Nico shot a look at Cale's feet and smiled to himself as he awaited what ever the professor would have happen next.

When the Professor asked him to help Cale, Nico rolled his eyes but directed his wand to Cale's feet.
"Tergeo!"

A pity- now that Cale's feet were as dry as his own he'd not squelch. Which reminded him; Nico cast Impervius on his feet before standing up to practice as they had been told.

James looked at MJ.
"Wanna be partners?" he asked. He stood up and placed his wand down on the desk. He walked up to the desk and grabbed two water-balloons. They weren't too heavy, that was a good sign. He brought them back to MJ and smiled.

Astrid turned to Allie and gave her a malicious grin. "You ready, hun?" she asked.

She went up and grabbed a few balloons and brought them back to their table. "Okay, then Al, you want to go first or shall I?" she said with grin. Secretly hoping that she would get soaked on her first try. I mean, how else would she get Nico to dry her off?

Mari clapped politely as Professor Hawkins called for applause, and she was glad that at least the two Prefects had earned some points for their houses. So far, Charms was indeed proving to be the most interesting class she had, and not just from the subject matter.

Turning a bit in her seat after Professor Hawkins gave them the all clear to form groups, she turned to Ludo and Asteira. " Would you both like to partner up?" She asked, smiling a bit to each of them.

Usagi desparately searched the room for some friends of her. Allie, Astrid, Via, Maggie, Anna...Nobody. Great. Then who in the name of Dumbledore is she gonna partner with?

Time to show off.

Evolette sauntered past the rows of students, to the professor's desk, where she grabbed two balloons and turned back, seating herself on Nico's desk, and holding out a balloon to him, "Partners?" she asked, arching an eyebrow.

Obedient Pretzel applauded for the Prefects and then stood up, looking for a partner or two. Yeah...she loved Charms class but who would want to practice with a secret water-balloon fiend like her?

Then again, Punzel's longish hair didn't like to get wet either....

Mari was having quite a good time with the whole situation. Many stidents had already been well wash completely with the balloons. As for her, she too had been splashed quite a lot, but still was trying her best to keep the thing on the air. not an easy taks,she thought as her balloon hit the floor splashing her already wet shoes. She looked aroun hoping not too many people had seen her accident and giggled like a silly girl. She went for another water balloon and tried it one more time.

Mari stopped for a sec and saw a Griffinodr with no partner. "Want to pair?" she asked smiling

Raiden glanced around anxiously... Lucas. He wanted to play with Lucas. Where was the guy? He had to be around...

"Lucas?" he said quietly as all the other students started moving.

Wait? They had to find partners? And they had to copy that? Oh goodness. She needed to find someone trustworthy to partner up with. She refused to get her hair wet. Flat out refused. She started looking around the room.

Jean Raoul eyed the other students in the class. None of them looked super trustworthy... and then a blonde stood up, and he eyed her. She didn't look like the brightest light on the tree, but oh well. She looked like the type who would try hard not to get somebody wet... possibly.

The seventh year rose as well, and quickly crossed the distance between himself and the Hufflepuff girl. "Pardon me, mademoiselle," he said politely, tapping her arm. "Would you be greatly opposed to partnering with me?"

....In Crime. Nico raised an eyebrow and inclined his head in agreement.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" Nico levitated the balloon from her hand and held it over her head for the obligatory 10 seconds from his still seated position. Of course it was easy because he knew she'd kill him if he messed up. So he didn't mess up. He brought the balloon to rest on the desk and pushed himself to his feet.

"Do you mind overly much if I try in non-verbally?" Nicholai smirked at her and glanced around the room a bit.

Nico had a partner. Damn. She saw him look around the room and caught his eye. Could they work in threes? She gave him a 'please don't let me get stuck with some Huffie' look. He wouldn't let that happen, right? Then again, it wasn't like she knew him that well.

"sounds good." she said smiling at Mari. she moved her chair so that they were all in a triangle. she gave ludo a smile as she figured Elizabeth would show up some time and join them. The spell was pretty easy seeing as she had done it several times when it came to organizing the library. Really she was just trying to think of some way to have fun with it. She didnt have anyone she wanted to get wet. " You can go first Mari." she said as she moved to loosen her red scarf.

One dark eyebrow raised delicately at the entire thing. So she had to find a partner and then levitate a balloon full of water over that person's head? What if the balloon ended up falling on top on that person, eh? Or worst--what if it ended up falling on top of her? What about her hair, and robes? Would she have to get wet? Sure Willow had gotten wet and had quiet a lot of mud on her robes before but that had been for good reason; Quidditch. Charms however... getting wet meant getting water on her hair!

She shuddered a little at this.

Orders were orders, however, therefore Willow had to obey to the Teacher's instructions. Sigh. Now she only needed to find a partner. A good one, mind you, for the fourteen year old was not looking forward to get water all over her.

Evolette winced when he levitated the balloon over her head without even telling her. "I swear Toussaint, if you ruin my hair." she mumbled, but luckily, nothing wet fell on her.

Satisfied that her beautiful hair was still in tact with all of it's shiny, silky gorgeousness, she was happy.

"Wingardium Leviosa." she spoke, levitating the other balloon over his head. She waited for the required ten seconds, and gently set it back on his desk, good thing it didn't break like Cale's had, or she would be all wet.

Ella scratched her head as she was looking for a partner, ofcourse for this practicing. She looked around and saw a tall boy asked Zel tobe a partner to him. She leaned over, and tapped his shoulder, "Hey there, Can I join with you with Zel?" asked, her outgoing personality popped up again.

Nico gestured to Camira that she could join them if she liked- it made sense none of them were the type to want to get soaked.

"Really, I'm as much a fan of your hair as you are Evolette- I wouldn't worry."

Nicholai smirked and watched her as she levitated the balloon above him.

Feeling a light tap on her arm, Punzel turned slightly and found herself face-to-face with a rather....suave Ravenclaw. And French too, from the sound of it.

"Hellllo," she said warmly, smiling just a bit. "I wouldn't mind partnering with you at all, monsieur." Punz raised an eyebrow - perhaps visiting her brother in France last summer had paid off after all....perhaps.

"I'll just go get the water balloons...for levitating, if that's alright with you..." and without waiting for his answer, she skipped to the front of the classroom with the full intention of selecting the thickest, most full balloons. All the better for levitating, of course.
