| | |  Arithmancy Lesson 2: The Personal Month Numbers
The Arithmancy classroom looks very much the same as it did last lesson - neatly-positioned rows of wooden desks and chairs, different colored cushions resting in a pile by the door for you to choose from to match your comfort and liking. The wooden shelves lining the walls are still not filled with Professor Shackleton's collection of books and the two large cardboard boxes that were sitting on the floor in front of the shelving unit last class are still present, unmoved from their original spot.
As you enter the room, you see Professor Shackleton sitting at her desk, her jade-colored robes partially covered by a thick-woollen yellow shawl. On the desk is a lesson plan for today's lesson, the course textbook, and a small pouch that she keeps very close by her left hand. Despite the smile on her face, it is apparent in her appearance and body language that she is not entirely well. Her skin has a slight greenish tinge to it, her shoulders are slightly hunched, and her brow glistens ever so slightly with perspiration. She invites you to choose your seat and open your textbooks to Chapter Twenty. | |

Dominic was sitting watching the interaction between the prefects and the other girl, whom he recognized as the sidekick girl to the clumsy gryffindor girl. Though he wasn't really paying much attention to them; so little in fact that he had started to doze lightly until the next thing he knew he heard the words, class dismissed. Sitting up straighter suddenly, the fourth year gulped and looked towards the front at the Professor. His head of house, who didn't seem comfortable at all! Perhaps her weirdness literally was weird... for her. He wouldn't know as he never knew her before this year.
Slipping his notes into his bag, Dominic contemplated quietly slipping out of the classroom as all the other students seemed to be crowding the professor. But something held him back. A small part of him wanted to stand up for the Professor and he knew that crowding someone when they were ill was not good at all.
"Er... if the Professor says she is okay, wouldn't that mean to leave her be?" Dominic asked quietly, interrupting the group. "I mean... um... crowding someone's space surely would do worse harm than letting them alone, as they wished." And HE would know that, of course...

Evangeline let out a big sigh of relief, making a whooooosh sound, when Professor Clark stepped in. Thank Merlin someone was going to do something. Because, honestly, she had no idea of what to do. "Alright, Professor. If ... if you're sure. I'll warn the Nurse her services aren't needed after all." She said with a nod, watching the man carry Shakleton away. Wow ... now that was some lesson.
Absent mindedly rubbing the back of the small Gryffindor girl who was hugging an even smaller Slytherin boy, she looked around the classroom to the other students. "Ehh ... we can go now, guys." She told them awkwardly, not used to being in that position. With a firm nod, she went to grab her stuff and made her way out of the classroom. | |

Dominic sighed as the older man carried the Professor from the classroom; good at least she'd be away from the peering faces. Honestly... the woman wanted to be left alone, why couldn't that be respected!? Oh right; cause people we strange like that... persistent or whatever.
Shrugging, he left the room, as there was no need for him to continue sticking around. He'd have to check on his head of house later...

Cale felt a twinge of guilt as Clark carried Shackleton out of the room. Someone should have gone to get the nurse even though she said not to--she was obviously not well, why was she so stubborn? Ahh, well, she was in good hands now...Clark was one of his favorite professors, even if he didn't seem very happy today. He packed up his things, he cleared his throat and made sure his badge was showing. "Prefect Green is right, I think it's best we clear out of here now..."
