The Arithmancy classroom looks very much the same as it did last lesson - neatly-positioned rows of wooden desks and chairs, different colored cushions resting in a pile by the door for you to choose from to match your comfort and liking. The wooden shelves lining the walls are still not filled with Professor Shackleton's collection of books and the two large cardboard boxes that were sitting on the floor in front of the shelving unit last class are still present, unmoved from their original spot.

As you enter the room, you see Professor Shackleton sitting at her desk, her jade-colored robes partially covered by a thick-woollen yellow shawl. On the desk is a lesson plan for today's lesson, the course textbook, and a small pouch that she keeps very close by her left hand. Despite the smile on her face, it is apparent in her appearance and body language that she is not entirely well. Her skin has a slight greenish tinge to it, her shoulders are slightly hunched, and her brow glistens ever so slightly with perspiration. She invites you to choose your seat and open your textbooks to Chapter Twenty.

Pheonix didn't bother raising her hand this time, she concentrated on taking down notes and making sure her calculations were correct. This was harder than she had first thought.

Professor Shackleton didn't know what this boy was playing at, "I did not mention a Personal Monkey Number! There is no such thing as a Personal Monkey number! If you want to disrupt my class, I'll disrupt your Quidditch career, if you catch my drift. I am Hufflepuff Head of House, after all. I do have that power, young man."

Macadrian stared at the boy for a moment and then began laughing, "Oh, you are rather clever aren't you. Turning my own words about original thoughts against me and then answering my next question correctly on top of it! Three points to Hufflepuff for just being you, Dominic!" Well, that was quite the mood swing from anger and combativeness to laughter! And what was up with her judgment? Threatening to take the boy off the Quidditch team for something so minor and then awarding him house points for just being him?!?? Clearly, Macadrian's judgment was impaired at this point...

She raised her hand and said, "I think I did it right. But Professor, would you like me to get you so water or something? That always helps my migraines." She couldn't help but be considered, even though Professor Shackleton had tried to reassure everyone that she was feeling fine, it was obviously not the case.

He surpressed a chuckle as Dominic got chewed out by the professor for his cheek and it came out a quiet snort. Well, served him right...Cale couldn't remember ever seeing the Hufflepuff in a GOOD mood. Sighing, Cale looked down at his parchment and started copying down the chart on the board. Then, he wrote down the sentences and left the blank spaces as he started his calculations.

Whooooa! Clifford blinked in confusion, his brain immediately turning into what felt like a rather gooey mush when Miss Shackleton flicked her chart and produced some chart. Talk about confusing!

Good thing he had Evangeline sitting next to him.. no doubt he was probably gonna make of mess of things. Like usual. BLEH!

Taking a deep breath, his brow creasing in concentration, Clifford leaned over his parchment and started scribbling:

Evangeline could not help but to blink and blink and blink some more at Shackleton's behaviour. Wow. Forget getting the words wrong, the mood swings were far, far, far worse. That was not Shackleton normal behaviour. Eh.

With a wary glance in Clifford's direction, she copied the sentence into her notebook and began working.

Dominic blinked at her defensiveness over the monkey number business; weird... weird woman! Sighing, he then gulped when she threatened to take him off the quidditch team. Not like it would be a bad thing; he wouldn't have to deal with hyper crazy captain.

And then... woah! Way to be absolutely insane! She called him clever?! And awarded him points for being him!? Canaries! He'd never thought he'd live to see the day. "I... er... thank you Professor, but I don't think I'm all that clever," he admitting quietly, and then copied the chart into his notes as he worked steadily to complete the blanks:

Dominic blinked when a rather tall, well built man entered the classroom after knocking first. Well that was certainly odd; and no he certainly wouldn't mind too much. A little break from coursework never hurt anyone... especially not him. Besides this man, from the looks of things was probably a fellow professor. Shrugging, he nodded in approval for him to take her out into the corridor. "Go for it, but just don't bring up Personal Monkey Numbers, alright?" he mused, but as a fair warning more like it.

Cale looked up in surprise as Professor Clark entered the room, and he certainly didn't look happy about something. "Um, hello Professor Clark," he said with a small smile as he continued his calculations. He looked from Shackleton to Clark, wondering what could be happening between the two of them that would make it necessary for Clark to interrupt her class.

Dominic opened his mouth slightly, flabbergasted at the suggestion to take the points back. "Oh... that won't be necessary, Professor," he responded quietly, and then... wait what was that that she told him? Keep his nose clean? "I wash my nose every day, Ma'am. Along with the rest of my skin too." Wait that wasn't what she was referring to, was it? Oh canaries! Whatever.

He sighed as she followed the other professor into the hallway and just crossed his arms, waiting for her to return as he was already done his calculations.

Cale sighed as Shackleton left the Prefect's in charge. Whaaaaa? He didn't want to have to handle a bunch of students. Hopefully they'd all just be quiet and behave and do their math stuff. He was more in the mood to sit there and wait for her to come back.

He looked down at his book and looked up his number for the current month, October. It was three, so that meant he was supposed to be creative or something. Well, he HAD drawn that pretty spiffy drawing for his Charms homework a few weeks ago. And expressing himself emotionally? Well, he had certainly had no problem with THAT in the past month either.

He turned the page to look up next months numbers and started to lose interest. Gah, he wished he could take a nap or something. Numbers were boring after the first half hour of class.

Evangeline frowned upon hearing Professor Clark and seeing the look on his face. Whatever he was here to do, it wasn't good. She just hoped he wasn't mad at Macadrian .. she was already so weak. She didn't think the woman could argue with anyone right now.

"Of course, Professor." She muttered with a solemn nod when she said Prefects were in charge. Mwahahahaha. Looking over at Cale, she puffed her chest out, showing off her shiny ~~she polished it every single morning~~ silver and green badge.

Turning back to Macadrian, she noticed that the woman had left the door open and frown further. Eh. Now she was going to tempt them all to go and eavesdrop. Pffft. Shaking her head, she turned back to Clifford and gave him a look that clearly said she found this all very weird.

With a small shrug, she pulled the textbook and read the interpretations for previous month's, current month's and following month's numbers. She didn't think the previous month's number was accurate in any way, but the current month's kinda was. She was feeling like spending quite a few time alone, not that it was possible. Well, either alone or with Clifford - both situations were able to restore her, as the textbook stated.

Sighing, she flicked open her textbook and re-read the interpretations. Wonder what's happening outside in the corridor?

Thankfully she wouldn't refuse, he realized the moment her face turned scarlet. "Super!" he croaked again before murmuring a "Thank you" to the students and retreated back into the corridor until he was concealed by the wall.

"Your spent!" he accused curiously-in whisper when she stepped into the corridor a moment after. He didn't wait for her answer while he took her state in, "we've been through this already, you have to follow schedule!" he scowled and pressed the potion in her direction, "a fresh one arrived today. Make sure your dosed up before you step back in class".

Astrid was having a bit of a anxiety attack. She couldn't stand being so worried about her teacher and now with Professor Clark's little visit, ....well it did NOT ease her mind.

She got up from her seat and pretended to throw away a scratch piece of parchment. Maybe no one would notice her over by the door. Then again, maybe they would. She was going to have to risk it. She just HAD to try to hear what was going on in that corridor.

There was only so much interpretation one could make of a couple of sentences, and Evangeline leaned back on her chair, crossing her legs under the table and looking around the room. People were finishing their assignments and soon theyd be bored. And when such a big amount of students was together and bored -- well, she wasn't a Prefect for that long but she knew it meant trouble.

And trouble was what she felt - again - when a Gryffindor student, that was strangely familiar though she didn't know from where, stood up and made her way to the rubbish bin. Hmmm. Yup, just like she had been expected .. she was eavesdropping. "You know, the parchment wont jump out of the bin .. you don't need to stand there." She said quietly to the girl, raising an amused eyebrow. There. People couldn't say she hadn't done something about it now. But if the girl refused to sit down, well Evangeline wouldn't make her. Let Cale deal with her in that case.

Oh yes, she couldn't deny. She was curious.
