| | |  Arithmancy Lesson 2: The Personal Month Numbers
The Arithmancy classroom looks very much the same as it did last lesson - neatly-positioned rows of wooden desks and chairs, different colored cushions resting in a pile by the door for you to choose from to match your comfort and liking. The wooden shelves lining the walls are still not filled with Professor Shackleton's collection of books and the two large cardboard boxes that were sitting on the floor in front of the shelving unit last class are still present, unmoved from their original spot.
As you enter the room, you see Professor Shackleton sitting at her desk, her jade-colored robes partially covered by a thick-woollen yellow shawl. On the desk is a lesson plan for today's lesson, the course textbook, and a small pouch that she keeps very close by her left hand. Despite the smile on her face, it is apparent in her appearance and body language that she is not entirely well. Her skin has a slight greenish tinge to it, her shoulders are slightly hunched, and her brow glistens ever so slightly with perspiration. She invites you to choose your seat and open your textbooks to Chapter Twenty. | |

Astrid felt completely at ease whenever they discussed the formulas for finding their individual numbers. There was something nice about numbers and finding the right calculations. She raised her hand again and said ”To find your Personal Month Number you take your Personal Year Number and add the reduced calendar month number.” She was pretty sure that the professor did not mean to say MONKEY! She hoped desperately that nothing was wrong with her. She didn't seem like herself lately.

Not wanting the lesson to be delayed at all, Macadrian asked the class another question, "How many Personal Month numbers are there for each Personal Year? And what types of numbers do we not consider applicable to the Personal Month calculations?"

Rachel nodded in understanding when the professor explained why she was feeling poorly. Poor professor... That must be awful, not getting enough sleep. Not wanting the lesson to be delayed at all, Macadrian asked the class another question, "How many Personal Month numbers are there for each Personal Year? And what types of numbers do we not consider applicable to the Personal Month calculations?"
Dominic frowned when the Professor practically flipped out on him for his answer. Honestly, he was just answering her own question, as she had asked it. Nothing unusual, right?
"Er Professor, that's what I would like to know you see, since you did mention Personal Monkey Number, and I was just answering the question as you had asked it. Didn't you say you wanted our own take on things rather than regurgitation of the textbook?" he asked, scratching behind his ear thoughtfully.
Finally, she said it correctly. At least what he assumed to be correct word, since this was supposed to be about months, not monkeys apparently. "There are twelve personal month numbers for each personal year, which makes sense since there are twelve months in the solar calendar. The master or karmic numbers are not applicable to the personal month calculations though..."
