| | |  Arithmancy Lesson 2: The Personal Month Numbers
The Arithmancy classroom looks very much the same as it did last lesson - neatly-positioned rows of wooden desks and chairs, different colored cushions resting in a pile by the door for you to choose from to match your comfort and liking. The wooden shelves lining the walls are still not filled with Professor Shackleton's collection of books and the two large cardboard boxes that were sitting on the floor in front of the shelving unit last class are still present, unmoved from their original spot.
As you enter the room, you see Professor Shackleton sitting at her desk, her jade-colored robes partially covered by a thick-woollen yellow shawl. On the desk is a lesson plan for today's lesson, the course textbook, and a small pouch that she keeps very close by her left hand. Despite the smile on her face, it is apparent in her appearance and body language that she is not entirely well. Her skin has a slight greenish tinge to it, her shoulders are slightly hunched, and her brow glistens ever so slightly with perspiration. She invites you to choose your seat and open your textbooks to Chapter Twenty. | |

Cale blinked as suddenly, Ross was up at the front, unpacking the books with impressive speed onto the shelf. Geez! Hadn't he been sitting down a second ago? When the professor addressed him he turned to her and nodded. "Sure thing Professor Shackleton," he said with a smile. After Ross had finished what he was supposed to do, he walked over and looked at the first stack, the one with the Arithmancy books. He picked up a few and started putting them on the shelves in alphabetical order. Ho hum. When was class gonna REALLY start?

Clifford, who was on his feet and ready to help Miss Shackleton, glowered slightly at the kid that hurriedly began throwing books on the shelves. Hmpf. That wasn't fair! He wanted to help!
Feeling a little disgruntled at his lack of helping, Clifford heaved a sad sigh and collapsed back into his seat. Siiiiiigh. He would just have continue looking at her ... and perhaps take some daisies to her after class.
Daisies were good to give to poorly people right? Hmmm.

As soon as Cale was sure that Allie could finish up the Arithmancy books, he went to the next stack of all different subjects. He made piles of the seperate subjects first before putting them on the shelf. Meh. This was gonna take him longer than the last pile had.

Hearing the professor addressing the class again, Vanessa looked up, and stopped herself doddling on the corner of her parchment, if she let herself carry on, she knew that the whole parchment would probably be covered in doodles. After listening to the professor she began looking through her notes for the parchement about the personal year numbers. After looking through all the pieces, that one piece had to be right at the back, she placed it in front of her and waited for the next instruction.

Personal month numbers? Clifford flicked through his textbook in search for the right chapter, scratching his chin with his quill as he did so. Hmmm.
"OOOH! I know my Personal Year Number!" He exclaimed, the sadness he'd felt over the lack of helping Miss Shackleton leaving in an instant due to his excitement. He didn't get things right very often, so when he did.. well, it was quite a precious moment.
Thanks to Evangeline's help, he had his Personal Year Number scribbled down in his notes somewhere. Teehee. Personal Month Number ... Personal Year Number ... now this was going to be confuzzling.

Astrid made sure that she had her textbook opened to the correct chapters. Then she took out her calculations from the previous lesson so that she would have them as a reference. She was so excited to get started, she always found this class so interesting and Professor Shackleton was by far the best professor at Hogwarts.
Astrid looked over to Ross and smiled and then raised her hand and said, "Professor, the current calendar year is 2066. Which you should reduce to 2 + 0 + 6 + 6 = 14/5."

Dominic rolled his eyes as someone asked about the current calender year. Honestly; who didn't know that!? Shrugging, the fourth year spoke up, "The current calender year refers to the year that it is right now. Such as that right now in time it is the year 2066."

Cale finished putting the books on the shelf and sighed. That had been harder than he thought, mainly cause it took time to sort them all out. "All finished Professor," he told her with a smile as he went back to his seat. He pulled all his stuff out of his bag and then rummaged around for that piece of parchment with his number from last lesson on it. It had to be here SOMEWHERE...
