| | |  Arithmancy Lesson 2: The Personal Month Numbers
The Arithmancy classroom looks very much the same as it did last lesson - neatly-positioned rows of wooden desks and chairs, different colored cushions resting in a pile by the door for you to choose from to match your comfort and liking. The wooden shelves lining the walls are still not filled with Professor Shackleton's collection of books and the two large cardboard boxes that were sitting on the floor in front of the shelving unit last class are still present, unmoved from their original spot.
As you enter the room, you see Professor Shackleton sitting at her desk, her jade-colored robes partially covered by a thick-woollen yellow shawl. On the desk is a lesson plan for today's lesson, the course textbook, and a small pouch that she keeps very close by her left hand. Despite the smile on her face, it is apparent in her appearance and body language that she is not entirely well. Her skin has a slight greenish tinge to it, her shoulders are slightly hunched, and her brow glistens ever so slightly with perspiration. She invites you to choose your seat and open your textbooks to Chapter Twenty. | |

Ludo exited the second floor corridor and entered the Arithmancy classroom. It was eerily quiet as he came in.
"Hello Professor Shackleton." he said, smiling. "Hope you're well today."
He made his way to an empty desk in the middle of the room and sat down, taking a quill and parchment out of his bag.
"Bet we're doing a lot of numerical figuring today...like always." he thought, smiling again.

... well, normally anyway. She looked like she'd come down with the Muggle Fly disease or something. Uh oh.

Dominic entered the arithmancy classroom located on the second floor. No Arithmancy was not his best subject; not by far. Though it had interested him to know how fairly accurate the readings were on the first homework. Sighing quietly, he took one look towards the front, nodded briefly towards the Professor and moved to sit in the back of the classroom. Boys always sat in the back, right?

Nia smiled tiredly at the Professor as she walked in and picked up a blue soft cushion. She'd been up doing homework the night before, and had researched late into the night. She chose a seat in the middle of the room, sat down, letting her long blonde hair cover the slight rings that had formed under her eyes. She got out her parchment, and flicked through the textbook to the next chapter they were covering.

Professor Shackleton softly greeted each of the students who'd said hello. To those who'd asked how she was feeling, she explained, "I'm a bit fatigued today. Must be those late nights grading papers. But I'll be fine." She offered a tiny smile, though the smile didn't quite seem to reach her eyes.
She spoke to the entire class in a voice weaker than normal, "I think we'll give your classmates just a bit more time before we begin. In the meantime, may I ask a favor of one or two of you? Can someone please help unload these two cardboard boxes of books onto the shelves. I'm feeling a bit weak today and probably shouldn't be lifting lots of heavy texts."

Clifford smiled lightly as Evangeline took the seat beside him - that was good.. maybe she could help him. Hehe. Help in Arithmancy was always welcomed and Evangeline was the biggest smarty pants he knew.
His head snapped back to Professor Shackleton however at her words, and in an instant he was on his feet. "I'll gladly help ma'am." He offered, rounding the table. AHA! He didn't have these big, strong muscles for nothing!

Dominic half-listened to the Professor blabber on about something or other, asking for volunteers to move boxes. Meh? This was arithmancy and he for one was NOT going to do her labor. Macadrian was impressed by the amount of people offering to help, but before she could even choose a student, Ross began unpacking the books onto the shelves. By the time she realized what was going on, he had completely unpacked the books. But they weren't in the proper order, so she was still going to need help.
She thanked Ross, "Thank you for your assistance, but I'm afraid I'm going to need your help once more. I like my books placed in a particular order, so can you please remove all the books from the book shelves and stack them into two piles - one for all books related to Arithmancy, and the other for books pertaining to different class subjects, like Ancient Runes, Divination, Astronomy, etcetera."
Macadrian then pointed to Allie and Cale and requested, "When Ross has finished sorting the books, can you then each take a pile and place them on the book shelf in alphabetical order by title. Oh, and the person who takes the books with different subjects, can you be sure to keep the subjects together and sort them alphabetically within each subject? Thank you."

Dominic shook his head as a fellow Hufflepuff took it upon himself to unload the books on the shelf. Better than him doing it, he thought to himself and then the Professor spoke of how she wanted the books organized a certain way. Oh of course she did; she was of the female population, whom were quite picky about anything and everything. Nothing would be done right, according to them.
Sighing quietly again, he turned his head to hear a rather young voice speaking to him. Feodore? That's a strange name. Eying the front of the classroom for a moment, he then glanced back at the young boy. Honestly, didn't he know not to talk now? "Dominic. Now quiet," he whispered, before returning his gaze to the front.
