| | Staff Table The staff table sits on a dias at the front of the Great Hall. Lined with identical chairs, the table is set with heavy china in a flowery print and solid gold goblets. At the center of the table there seems to be a space, though a small three-legged stool can be seen if one looks under the table.
Upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that some of the chairs have cushions, and some do not. Those that don't also seem to wobble as if one leg is just a bit too short. |

Yes, his wife is very pretty, like no other." He said as he mimicked Lord Borr's chuckle.
Bob loved the way he interacted with the students. "I have to say, I love your approach to this kids. Or should I say pests? I have never liked children, just little annoyances who think they are important. Ha! They should be on the floor bowing at your feet." He said loudly so the students could easily hear. "I've always thought I had a way with the children," Lord Borr knew as much, but he was a modest man. "I wouldn't be opposed to you taking some notes on how it's done. Pass it around. Send it over to that girly school, too. Merlin help them you KNOW they need it!" Lord Borr laughed so loud it hurt. Quote:

He shot a terrified look in Flynn's direction. There it was! The lap offer! Time to make a dash for it! Perfect timing too, for the other old man had engaged the headmaster in coversation now. Quote:

Flynn noticed the fear in Garret's eyes after he answered the Headmaster and, mentally, they were both in agreement as to what to do next. But a couple of things held Flynn back for a few more minutes.
Firstly, he turned to the other Hufflepuff boy who had just STROLLED up to the Headmaster whilst he was in the middle of a conversation with them. "Excuse me, you are being incredibly rude interupting our conversation. Wait your turn," there goes that snap of the tongue Flynn was producing rather too often.
And secondly, that other Professor. No respect and an other idiot. Yes, come to a school where there is tons of kids when you don't like kids. Smart move. However, Flynn may have had the guts to lash out at a fellow pupil, but not a Professor. "Sorry you feel that way sir," he offered to Thornton. "Well you're welcome for the meals boys. Very welcome indeed. I like a man that knows when and where to show his gratitude. Might I suggest a letter to the Minister and show your appreciation in that way, as well?" Lord Borr reached out and ruffled the boys hairs, and then he turned and wiped his hands on Bob Thornton. He didn't want greasy fingers. He laughed out loud when the little one snapped at the one going on about his father. "TOO RIGHT! You tell him! Show him how to bow properly!"

| Technically technical all the time Bookaholic Doyle sighed again. "Cooper... The Minister..." he shook his head. He had nothing nice to say. Time for stalling was through. It was time for the speech. He placed his hands on the table to help ease himself to his feet. His knees were cramping. He cleaned his glasses and then tapped his spoon on his glass. "Please take you seats!"
Once everyone was settled he cleaned his glasses again and cleared his throat. He took a deep breath and tapped his fingers on his thigh for a few moments before finally opening his mouth to speak. "Welcome to.... Cooper's... School of Magic for Wizards," Professor Branxton announced, though it was a wrench not to say something inappropriately vulgar instead of "Cooper's". "I am the newly appointed Headmaster of this school. Those of you who are returning from previous terms at Hogwarts will recognize some returning faces amongst the new ones on staff. We'd like to welcome you all to this new, all boys school.
"The Ministry has declared Hogwarts unsafe. The school governors agreed as I believe all of us should after the events of the past fifteen years, most recently the abduction of students right from the school. The Minister decreed that two schools would be built to split the student population into two in order to more closely monitor them... for your protection, of course. There are several new and strict rules in place and I would implore you to obey them. Rule breakers will be sent home if necessary.
"I apologize for my poor speech skills. I'm used to my wife giving the speeches. Perhaps Lord Borr has more to add?" Doyle differed to the big man, knowing the best way to handle him was to pander to his ego.

| Nabs!Ama | | The Happy Hufflepuff Galloping Gryffindors, they'd gotten it wrong! Garret's eyes took in the REAL Headmaster and his hand took hold of Flynn's elbow, he struck a pose as if ready to scarper to their table or common room when he realized that it probably wasn't wise to leave just like that.
He stopped, offered a short bow to Lord Borr and started dragging Flynn away. Considering the kid was about as big as his own little brother, this wasn't so difficult to do.

Lord Borr turned to Bob Thorton. "See how important I am?" Truly, he even amazed himself sometimes.
Without the help of his cane, getting to his feet was a challenge. But Lord Borr was up for any challenge. He defied gravity and raised himself to his full height. "Yes, Professor Doyle, I think I will say a few words. I'll fill in everything you left out," Lord Borr's hands went up and he waved out to all the students, all his fans and supporters.
"Well, children, here were are! On the eve of a new beginning. Rest well tonight, because tomorrow - tomorrow we start a whole new reign. GONE are the days where you could run wild and act like a fool. GONE are the days where you filled you hollow heads with the nonsense curriculum previously taught. GONE of the days of Hogwarts and GONE are the days of chaos!" Lord paused to catch his breath and allow for applause. "Long will be the reign of Minister Cooper's new school! HOORAY!"
"Let me read you the new rules. Rules that you all should have had the very beginning," Lord Borr cleared his throat and began: 1. Appropriate school uniforms must be worn at all times outside the common rooms. Be sure your shirt is tucked in, your trousers are ironed, and your shoes match your belt. No jewelry.
2. There is absolutely no communication with anyone outside of your school aside from parents and guardians. You are here for education, not socialization.
3. Students must be in their common rooms by 9:30 each weekday and by 10:30 on weekends. You must be in your dormitory half an hour after the common room curfew.
4. The castle and its furnishings deserve our respect at all times. Do not stand on the furniture or sit down too hard. Do not remove wall decorations. Do not wear the suits of armor.
5. No food or drink permitted outside the Great Hall under any circumstances. This includes snacking in bed. The elves WILL check your sheets.
6. Pets are only allowed in the dormitories, not in the common rooms, corridors, or elsewhere in the school. They may not sleep in your bed, as it is unsanitary.
7. All non-academic clubs are henceforth disbanded. Quidditch is acceptable as it is an opportunity to stretch our bodies as well as our minds.
8. No running, jumping, skipping, or general tomfoolery in the corridors or outside the common rooms. Try not to have any fun on school time."
Lord Borr was utterly spent at the end of his magnificent speech. He had just enough energy for one more thing. "A toast! TO THE MINISTER! Long live Minister Cooper! And to a very educational year!! "

Hogwarts RPG Name: Armand Beta-Erikson Slytherin First Year Hogwarts RPG Name: Damien Beta-Erikson Slytherin First Year | Slytherin by heart The students were going to drive him mad. He was sure of it. Did he really hear Headmaster Borr? Dear Merlin... He would have given just about anything for the comfort of his wife right now. But even if she had been alive, she wouldn't be here. That thought was all the more depressing. He wasn't sure who had it worse: He, for having lost his wife and therefore couldn't expect to see her again, or Branxton, for having his wife just out of reach at his fingertips at the neighboring school. After all, he remembered what it had been like to reach out for someone and just fall short. Afterward it may not seem so bad, but for the moment... At least he will be able to see her again. That doesn't stop the pain of now. But the pain of how is fleeting, isn't it? You've a lifetime of it ahead of you. Why feel sorry for him? It... it's the expectation... It sounded flimsy, even to him. Come off it. You know it will be better for him in the end. What do you have to look forward to?
Under the premise of simply leaning on his hands, in boredom, he tried plugging his ears to shut the argument out. But of course, even he reveled in the remarkable stupidity of such a futile action. He did his best to clear his mind, employing occlumency once more. Never had he used it so much as is recent days. But if he didn't, surely the others would see him slipping. Unfortunately, he recovered himself in time to see some off reactions around him, and wondered just what it was he'd missed. There were the rules read off, but what happened after that?

Hogwarts RPG Name: Armand Beta-Erikson Slytherin First Year Hogwarts RPG Name: Damien Beta-Erikson Slytherin First Year | Slytherin by heart "Don't be such a kiss-up," he muttered before looking at the boy. He lowered the voice and hoped that he was just enough away from the loud-mouthed man (and that he was being loud enough to drown Armand out) to speak to the kid. "Jose, earlier you thanked me for what I tried to do for your brother, and then in recent you showed a large amount of distrust for what the other professors and I are doing, by not even giving time or chance to explain ourselves. I would certainly urge that you decide where your loyalties lie, or you will only be seen as another Wormtail in this school. Hufflepuff will not grow any stronger by cowtowing to whoever you perceive is the most important, nor by spouting out every irritation that comes to mind. You follow the rules, you deal with as your are dealt, but you play the game." At those words, even occluded, he shuddered.

"Don't you think there should be some sort of - rule about how the professor's appearance?" Lord Borr showed no restraint in pointing out how just horrible he found Professor Erikson's long hair to be. "It just won't do for him or any of the others to look like riffraff. That's no way to be a role model. I'm SURE the Minister would agree."

Then he took off his glasses and cleaned them. "Perhaps we should owl the minister before being too hasty. Hogwarts RPG Name: Mario Ingles | Simply watching, and not speaking, Mario noticed the interactions of several students, especially directed towards Lord Borr. This was certainly going to be the year to turn this student body around, even if some didn't care for it. It was obvious that Headmaster Branxton was one of those.
However, Mario had a job to do and do it he would. It was time, he supposed that a code of discipline was put in place. Sometimes it seemed that the younger generation was a little too loose with their mouths and actions.

Dumont couldn't believe what he was hearing. Was there an argument going on about the length of a person's - - - hair? How ridiculous could things get, and who would care one way or the other about such a thing? He eyed the large man who had made these statements about hair length uncertainly. He seemed a bit blustery and presumptuous, to say the least! "Sir, how could a person's hair length possibly affect their abilities or anything else?", he asked. "What could it possibly matter? That is only a matter of preference and doesn't prove anything."
