Background:
Regina Roa’s lineage can be described as a “half and half”. Her father is a mystic, gifted with extraordinary abilities of his own (ooc: think Jedi/ Sith) whereas her mother, Isis Roa, is a sorceress descended from the family of the Ravenclaws (acknowledging kinship with) and that of the Bloody Baron’s (a fact her forbearers keeps in secret due to a history of violence).

Regina’s formative years were spent training with the mystics at their Temple, hence her early abilities to perform what appears to be non verbal spells to those in the Wizarding world. However these only serve to develop the mystic side of her talents and none of the powers she inherited from her mother. Isis, wishing for her daughter to attend Hogwarts like their Ravenclaw ancestors, resettled back to England.

Tragedy befalls them when Isis is murdered by attacking Dementors. Regina witnesses the horror and only survives the assault by subconsciously casting a Patronus Charm, a feat she remembers little of. Heartbroken, Regina and her father made the move to leave England when, on the eve of their departure, Regina receives the invitation to attend the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Wishing to honor his late wife’s wishes, Regina’s father allows his daughter to attend Hogwarts agreeing only that she promises not to use any of her mystic abilities while in the Wizarding world.

Regina has always been a precocious child, and continues to be so even as she attends Hogwarts. Nathalie's mother is an unpleasant woman – cold, sarcastic and never affectionate. She did not want to marry Gervais but was given no choice, and as a result has become very bitter. She seems to enjoy thwarting her daughters whenever possible, and imposing unreasonable restrictions upon them. Physically, she is average height, and has dark blonde hair and pale brown eyes.

Gervais is distant and makes no secret of the fact that he would rather have sons. He grudgingly admits that Nathalie is his heir, but wishes she had been a boy. Nevertheless, he displays mild affection for the girls, and is occasionally indulgent. He is impatient in manner, hates to be kept waiting, and is easily iritated. Physically, he is tall, with black curly hair, worn to collar length, and has the same sapphire blue eyes as Nathalie. He has aquiline features, and wears a neatly trimmed mustache and goatee. He rarely discusses his business affairs with his family, and may possibly be involved in some shady deals.

As is often the case, the Desjardins are related in some way to most of the pureblood families. They believe in arranged marriages, but do not go quite so far as to arrange future matches for very young children. They plan to wait until each girl comes of age before starting serious negotiations - in this way, they hope to avoid the complication of betrothing a child to a family that later becomes socially unacceptable!

Nathalie is outwardly obedient, but goes her own way when her mother is not around. She is not a rebel (though has the potential to become one when she hits adolescence) - she just feels it's easier to pretend to agree but have her own opinions. She is regarded as “studious” – she prefers studying to more social activities. She was secretly hoping to be sorted into Ravenclaw, but is not really surprised to be a Slytherin, as her father, and most of her extended family were also Slytherins. Her mother attended Beauxbatons, but all the Sheldons before her were Slytherins.

Nathalie is not often overtly unpleasant, but does display a certain arrogance and sense of entitlement that goes with her privileged upbringing. She is nervous and a little shy when she first starts Hogwarts, but for the most part, she is confident and self-assured, but can be something of a loner. She doesn't have any friends at this stage, as her mother has not allowed the girls to mix much with others; as a result, her sisters have provided all her companionship, and she is extremely fond of them. She may find making friends rather difficult at first because of this social isolation.

She is eager to learn to fly. She has not been allowed to do so thus far, as her mother believes the activity is unladylike and encourages rough behaviour. She would love to learn to play Quidditch, and generally take part in various sports and outdoor activities.

Physically, Nathalie takes after her father, having a reasonably athletic build. She is currently average height but is likely to be tall, and has a naturally upright posture. She has long black curly hair, sometimes worn tied back or braided, black brows and lashes, and sapphire blue eyes. Her features are well-defined, though not quite as hawk-like as her father. She has fair skin, and tends to develop only a light tan in the summer. All her sisters take after their mother except for her youngest sister, Sara, who also takes after their father.

Background -
Alex is Half and half, her father is a pureblood wizard, while her mtoher was a muggle. Do to her family's dislike of muggleborns and half-bloods, she was disowned by her father's family before she was born. Her father's whole family was in Slytherin and she had always hoped that if she was placed in Slytherin her family would finally accept her. Her father and mother were always backing her up, and her father even stopped talking to his family after a while. On Alex's 9th birthday, he mother died and so did the life she knew and loved. All Alex knows about her mother's death is that someone killed her, but she doesn't know who. Her father stopped being there for Alex and their relationship grew apart. They stopped going to Quidditch matches which was the only thing she really had in common with her father, they both loved the sport. Her father kept her in the house, cutting her life from the outside world. Only when he had his meetings was she allowed out of the house. When she recieved her letter to attend Hogwarts, her father almost forced her not to go, but Alex fought back and managed to leave her father and come to the school she had always dreamed of attending. She got her wish and was sorted into Slytherin, but when she told her father the good news he sent her a letter telling her that she would never be accepted into the family because she was 'nothing more than a filthy half-blood.' The only thing that has kept her going after that letter is her family of friends inside Hogwarts.
Once summer had started after Alex's first year of Hogwarts she found out that her father did, in fact, kill her mother. Now the question is, why did he do it??? Alex knows the answer and more, will she tell you what happened?

Backround: Sapphires a pureblood and her family have been for generations, many years ago one of her family members supported he who shall not be named and her family were outcasts for years, it wasn't untill her great-grandmother became a very well known person through her book that was published explaining the good that muggle borns do in our world that the family were welcomed back into the comunity.

Sapphire's name is an unusal one as her mother liked sapphires and her father wanted to call her Emrald after the Slytherin house, but because he loves her mother dearly decided on Sapphire Emrald. Sapphire is not keen on telling people her middle name as she finds it a little embarrising.

Personality: Amanda has a tendancy to be a loner, yet she is very nice if you get to know her. She can get quite emotional and you never want to make her mad because then she's just a ticking timebomb and when she explodes,you better watch out.

Background: Born to Raven Belkin and Alex Lesalle, two former Slytherins and pureblood Death Eaters. Her parents noticed her gifts for potion making and transfiguration at a young age and decided to nurture her gifts early. She had her parents until 7 and half, when they were taken away and murdered in Azkaban on Christmas. She was sent to live on the streets where she learned to survive until being sent to a orphanage. At 8 years old, she was almost kidnapped and murdered but narrowly managed to escape and to this day that person is out looking for her.

Personality
hair color: Her hair color is black, almost red in some lights. In length it’s just about to her waist. Her hair also has a bit of natural curl to it. It’s usually a bit wavy, or straight. When it gets wet it will curl up a lot…but Charity tends to avoid rain. She’s a bit afraid of it.

eye color: Large blue eyes. They have this extremely innocent look about them. One that is a bit hard to resist.

skin tone: Pale an almost never tanned.

Weight/Height: 5’2” tall, 110 lbs.

defining characteristics: She is thin to an extreme. Faith doesn’t look sickly really…but she doesn’t have much of a figure. She has only the faintest hint of hips, and no real upper body. Her neck is long, just like her limbs. Faith usually has a bit of a spacey look in her eyes. She doesn’t look like she’s completely…whole…

When she walks she moves more like…a snake. Her movements are strangely fluid…relaxed. She doesn’t pay much attention to it a lot of the time. She doesn’t look like much of a threat. She’s not tall, she’s not got much muscle…or so people think. She’s not strong or intimidating.

She also has a piercing in her nose, and lip….which Faith let her sister Charity do for her after her sister had insisted they needed to be identical.


Personality
Faith is a quiet, analytical, understanding girl. The fact that she gets along so well with her fairly insane twin sister makes her an extremely understanding person. She doesn’t usually rely on her first impression of someone. Faith knows better than anyone that people aren’t always what they seem. Charity, for example, comes off as an escaped mental patient, but Faith knows her better than that. She spends a lot of time observing people, and testing them…in a way…before deciding anything about them. She’s also very independent. Her parents always saw Charity as the golden child…she was the special one, the one that needed their attention. Ever since she was old enough to watch out for herself she has. Of course her parent’s kept an eye on her…but it was always Faith that was responsible for keeping herself entertained…occupied…and out of the way. She doesn’t open up to people easily, and isn’t very defensive about anything but her sister. Faith is the kind of person that is very driven, but keeps that quiet. She likes to work beneath the radar, do things without people seeing her do them…or knowing she did them. Her drive is to succeed, not do good deeds really. She’s not what people would call a good person…but she’s not evil either.

Brief family history/background: Mystie lives in Sussex with her father Nova, her mother Astra and her two older siblings, Jessamine and Drayk.
Drayk is the oldest and his birthday is the same as Mysties. They are very close and he was very happy that he got a sister for his birthday. He was in Slytherin as well. She has an uncle that was in Slytherin house also.
Mystie’s mother went to Beauxbatons because that is where young ladies go. Her father went there as well because her mother went there. They liked each other since they were kids.
Oh, Then there is Mystie’s sister Jessamine. She cannot stand her.

Personality: She is rather mysterious, confident, a little weird I guess, and as a modest ego. She is not easily impressed. She is rather loyal and cares deeply for her family. She is also very proud of her heritage. Some think she is a little snobby and hates muggles because of her not being easily impressed. She likes reading muggle Japanese comics called mangas, and blowing bubbles. Her motto, when life gets you down blow bubbles.

Talents: Mystie is a Parselmouth. She is good with potions. She loves playing with muggle herbs, essential oils, and homeopathic recipes. Mystie’s favorite muggle recipe is scented ink. With a little wizard magic you can give the multi-colored ink it own scents. She also likes making multi-colored scented bubbles.
