"I really wouldn't say it's the best,"Reese said."I think of all the houses equal to one another.But,this term,Slytherin is the most...respected house."

"I agree with you about the respect," Wystan smiled slyly. "From what I've encountered so far, I'm shocked that Slytherin isn't in the lead. Tell me, are the other Houses so...so troublesome? It's okay to tell me which Houses cause problems or think they're better than your House. Maybe I'll reward you for such information." Her violet eyes sparkled with delight at the prospect of getting some juicy details.

Kaytee walked hesitantly up to Professor Wystan's door. She knocked shyly on the door and waited patiently. She wanted to meet all of her professors before the lessons began so she could get a brief idea of what to expect.

"Truth be told,I think Slytherin is the most troublesome house,"Reese said."But,with this new...school.I think all the houses are going...crazy.I've never seen all the houses start off with negative points.I think it's all the first years,they think it so fun to break rules and lose points.But that's just what I think."

Daphne walked up to the office of Professor Wystan, the sign on the door confirmed that this was the flying instructor. She found it odd that the office would be in the castle, but since there was no Quidditch pitch, she couldn't imagine where else it would be. She carefully adjusted her uniform, ensuring everything looks perfect: skirt straight, shirts tucked in, hair in place. She just wanted to make a good impression, in case the Professor was not very nice. Finally, she took a deep breath and knocked on the door. She stood, a little nervous, repeating in her head exactly what she wanted to ask: When are the flying lessons... When does Quidditch start...

"Enter" Wystan called out and resumed talking to Miss Northway.

"Hmm," she said disappointedly and began filing her nails. "However, are there any troublesome students I should look out for? The Minister and his wife are keen on keeping troublemakers out of their illustrious schools."

"I said ENTER," Wystan hissed loudly and threw her nailfile at the doorway.

Me.Reese is very troublesome,but she wasn't going to let Professor Wystan know that.No way.She shook her head."There's no troublemakers that I hang-out with,"she said."None at all."Oooo,she was getting hungry."May I go now,I'm sort of getting hungry."She smiled.

Kaytee quickly entered the office and smiled. "Hello, Professor. My name is Katherine Bell, and I just wanted to tell you how pleased I am that you will be teaching the flying lessons around here at Belle's School of Magic for Young Witches. I hear you're quite the Beater," she said, nodding toward the picture on her desk and grinned again, "the position I'm wanting to try for." She studied the picture more closely. "The Wimbourne Wasps. A magnificent team, if I do say so myself," she said, turning back to Professor Wystan.

She heard a yell and then a bang against the door. She gulped as she walked in. Looking down, she picked up a nail file. She didn't throw it... did she? Daphne thought to herself as she looked at the instructor. Her eyes widened as she looked around the room at the various photographs, all depicting the woman in very violent Quidditch situations. Daphne kept her cool as she approached the woman.

Walking over, she suddenly recognized her as the player serving a suspension. She couldn't recall the details, but she knew it was for violent behavior. Looking at the photographs, she wasn't surprised that this player would do that.

"Good day, Professor," she said in an even, but welcoming voice. "I just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Daphne Jones, Fourth year Ravenclaw. I've been on the house team for three years," she said slowly, choosing her words carefully. She carefully walked towards her desk, holding the nail file out. "I believe you dropped this, ma'am," she said, knowing it didn't end up by the door from an accidental drop.

"Of course you may leave," she said and nodded at the other Slytherin girl who just entered the room. "However, if you do come across the names of any troublemakers, don't be afraid to share your information with me. I can be quite generous to those who are loyal."

Xylia was taken back by the young girl's recognition of her true profession. "Why, I'm flattered Miss Bell. Please have a seat." She motioned to an open chair. "How are you enjoying the term so far?"

Reese nodded.She stood up from her chair and walked out the door.Generous?Giving her the names of her best friends is being generous?Ya right.She shook her head and headed to the Great Hall.This was going to be a looooong term.

Kaytee decided to tell the truth. "Well, at first I couldn't help but act a little distraught," she said, taking a seat. "My brother had told me so much about Hogwarts and got me excited to be there, but instead I ended up here," she said waving her hand over her head. "But after a while here at Miss Belle's, I decided that it wasn't so bad after all," she concluded smiling. "I've already made many new friends here, and so far I've completed all my homework that's been assigned to me and I've already won a duel!" she said proudly.

Wystan snatched her nail file from the Ravenclaw girl's outreached hand. "What position did you play?" she asked and narrowed her eyes.

"A duel? How badly injured was your opponent?" Wystan asked with a genuine smile.

She grinned slyly. "Well, she sent petrificus totalus at me, so I set up a shield charm that would protect me and send it back to her. It hit her square on, and so I then sent her a curse that would stick her tongue to the roof of her mouth," she said snickering. "That way, she couldn't dodge or send more spells at me. But," she said sighing as if disappointed, "the only thing I could do to her was cover her in boils...I am a first year, after all, so I don't know that many spells yet..."

"That is wonderful! How many points were you rewarded for such spellwork?" Wystan asked since she was too lazy to research it on her own.

Kaytee frowned. "Sadly, I wasn't rewarded...but that's alright," she said shrugging. "There will be other chances for duelling I suppose..."

Daphne retracted her hand as the professor ripped the file away. She appeared very calm and unintimidated, but actually she was petrified. This woman was the only barrier between her and flying, and she wanted to make a good impression. Maintaining her strong exterior, she smoothly replied, "I played Seeker and Chaser." Daphne felt her voice quiver slightly, which feared the professor would see as a sign of weakness.

Temporarily dropping her façade, she had an idea. "I'm sorry I'm a little...starstruck. Me and my family are..." Daphne paused, desperately trying to remember her team name. Realising this was a lost cause, she picked up where she left of, as if she stopped in awe of the professional player in front of her. "...We're huge fans of yours. I think you're a simply marvellous Beater," she recovered, looking at the pictures of the professor holding her Beater's bat, in very violent situations on the pitch.

"That's a shame. May I inquire as to who blatantly refused to reward such a feat?" she asked sweetly.

"Why, I'm flabbergasted at your flattery," Wystan said with a fake smile. "Have you ever been hit with a Bludger? You should realize that I'm a staunch believer in rule one of The Beater's Bible. Are you familiar with that rule?"

Kaytee sighed. "Unfortunately, no professor or prefect was in the arena at the time. Appearantly, people seem uninterested in a duel between a few first years," she said sadly. "Only a few showed up, and it was just two or three other Slytherin's that I knew closely..."

She smiled back at Professor Wystan. "I thank you tremendously for your comments on my duelling, Professor. You truly are a gracious woman," she finished pleasantly.

Daphne shook her head. "No, ma'am, I haven't, thankfully. I've swerved to avoid a few close calls though," she noted proudly. She looked at one picture in which Wystan was swinging her bat wildly at a small seeker. Daphne imagined herself in the picture, being chased around by a mad beater. She shook her head to get the horrid image out of her head.

When Daphne heard The Beater's Bible, her heart dropped. Her mum always brought up the book when she argued against her daughter playing Quidditch. "Rule One: Take out the Seeker," she said, head held high. She wasn't going to appear intimidated. "That rule's made me a better seeker, forced me to be more aware," she smirked, looking the demonic instructor in the eyes.

Ashley looked around quickly then set down her letter and left.

A piercing laugh emanated from Wystan. "Oh, dearie. You must be hallucinating. I think you'd better go visit the school nurse," she suggested.

"Then I suggest you start running now," Wystan remarked coldly and pointed to the door.

Wystan watched the Hufflepuff girl walk into her office and deposit a letter. "Excuse me. Don't you even think of dropping a foul piece of paper in my office when I'm standing right here." The words were like a cold hiss coming from a snake. "Stupid girl."

"The rest of you lot - get out. You have fifteen seconds before I start taking away House points."

Kaytee stood up quickly, bewildered at the fact she was being pushed out like this. She smiled again and said, "Thank you for letting me introduce myself, Professor Wystan. I do hope you have a lovely time here as we are." She turned and left the office.

Daphne stood, shocked at the horrible woman in front of her. She felt the anger rise up, and she wanted more than anything to yell at the patronizing fiend. But she held it in, looking rather funny, clenching her teeth. She worked hard to force a smile. "Of course, Professor," she said through gritted teeth. She abruptly turned and left the office. She would not be returning.

I hate to intrude, but I must find out what is happening with the flying class, she had registered for in France. She says as she knocks on the door.
