Cassandra smiled as she smelled Melita coming.

It smelled good. Food. It was..... cookies.
Eva bitted her lip, thinking. What if....? What of there was a way of getting Hogwarts back...? If that could happen, there was the answer.
Her stomach reacted to the cookie's smell; Eva didn't mind eating one that moment.

Nikita was listening to the answers of students and Professor Lainey's replies when a delicious scent drifted past her nose. She sniffed it in, wondering what it was. It smelled freshly baked, and like something she'd like to try...but it also smelled oddly familar.

Nikita overheard a younger Gryffindor mention that they were Professor Melita's cookies. Of course, the smell had to be that. Nothing but the work of a Ministry professor could smell so enticing.

"Professor Melita's coming!" Sabrina said. This wasn't good, if they were caught planning clubs then they'd all be in trouble and she really didn't want to see Professor Lainley get into trouble or worse fired. At least her cookies were so good their scents were easily recognisable, otherwise they probably wouldn't have known till she stuck her head through the door.

Lainey held her nose until she could get her dress up and over it to keep out the dreadful smell of that... woman. Dimwit was a better description, but Lainey was trying to be nice. Failing, but trying at least.

"Excuse me girls. Let's see what today's distraction will be." Lainey got to her feet and went to the door. Without speaking, she stared, the neck of her dress up over her nose still, at Sophia. Ugghh.

Steelsheen looked up at the Professor quizzically. A slug club? "What did they do there Professor? Collect slugs?" She has heard of clubs collecting all different sorts of things, clubs about people, ideas... but a club about slugs? Steelsheen shrugged Meh, whatever rocked their boat.

She sniffed the air when the Professor detected a scent. "It smelled cookies." she shrugged again, then it hit her. Cookies= Potions Professor. She groaned inwardly as she heard humming accompanying the scent in the air. Oh no we're not gonna start singing again are we?

She turned her head as the Professor approached the door, her robes over her nose. Steelsheen couldnt help but chuckle.

Sophie smiled brightly despite Lainey's odd demeanor (she always had been an odd one, she had and Melita had often wondered why they hadn't ust kept her locked up where she belonged) and pushed right on past her, skipping into the classroom. "Oh how cheerful! A nice fire and gathering of the class," she beamed and pushed the basket into the nearest student's lap. "Pass those around, dear."

After ensuring the cookies wold be passed, she smiled up at Lainey again. "I just thought I'd pop in and offer some cookies for story time," she explained, so cheerful it looked like maybe she'd charmed her face into that position.

Sabrina did her best not to shudder as the potions mistress walked in. It wasn't that Professor Melita wasn't nice, she was just way too cheerful for a normal person. Story time? How old did she think they all were? She took the cookies and without taking one passed the basket along.

"Ten points from anyone that dares put one of those cookies into their mouth," Lainey's muffled voice came through the front of her dress. "Do not, girls, and I mean it, put one of these.... cookies .... into your mouths. Not on my hour, not in my classroom, not during my class, and not EVER if I had my way!" If looks could kill, Lainey would have made Melita's head explode.

Astrid was shocked to see the Professor's lesson was being interrupted. How rude! She thought silently.

When the cookies were passed her way she took one and passed the basket on. She still remembered the last time she had eaten one of these cookies. This time she'd just pretend to eat for a bit to buy some time until she could see whether or not any of the girls start acting weird again. The idea of being drugged, whether it caused ill-affects or not, really freaked Astrid out.

When she heard Professor Lainey's warning, she was relieved that she had hesitated about eating the cookie. Something was going on here and she had NO idea what it was.

"Oh really, Professor," she giggled and then moved to take a seat with the class. "There's nothing wrong with cookies by the fireside. Please, continue on with your lesson."

Ponessa nodded slowly, quite confused, but stared oddly at the cookie in her hand. She wouldn't've eaten it anyway, she didn't have a fondness for cookies.

Cassandra looked between her two professors... She wasn't going to pick a side... not now. Not ever. She wasn't going to have any cookies either, she didn't much like sweets.

Via was staring at the two Professor's who seemed to be like hating each other. She loved the HIstory of MAgic class and she just didn't want it to be interrupted. Professor Sophie came in here for a basket of cookies? She wondered. Via saw Astrid take a piece of cookie and noticed that she had pretended to have a bite. This is outrageous, she thought. Professor Lainey hadn't interrupted any class of Professor Sophie before as long as she could remember. When the basket of cookies reached her, she picked one and eagerly passed the basket unto the next. She was still thinking if she's gonna bite it or not, but thought better not to since Professor Lainey told them not to, so she just pretended to be enjoying the sight of the cookie. ONLY the sight.

Lainey opened her mouth a few times to reply to Melita, but had to shut it each time. Every response she had - was not for young ears to hear. Most of them involved creative places to put Melita's cookies and profanities Lainey's mother would have washed her mouth out for.

Lainey took a deep, calming breath that failed. After the much needed oxygen, Melita was still there, Lainey was still fuming, and now her fists were balled up. "I will say this once, and once only: There is no room for you here, Sophia Melita."

Nikita remembered the last time she'd had Melita's cookies. There was something about them that wasn't quite...right. As the basket reached her, she glared at them reproachfully. Oh dear. Did she need to sneeze? She did. Trying to avoid the basket of cookies so as not to bring Professor Melita's wrath upon her, she sneezed off to the side, but there was no gaurantee that she'd missed the bakings completely. Wordlessly, she passed them on, keeping her eyes on Professor Lainey the entire time.

Ten points for eating one of the cookies was not severe enough, in Nikita's opinion. Expulsion was more fitting.

Story time? Steelsheen nearly groaned loudly but just turned her head away so that the Potions Professor doesnt have to see her grimacing What are we gonna do now, sing 'These are a few of my favorite things?' She looked down at the cookie basket as it came her way. She took a cookie and raised it to the Ms Melita as if thanking her, then surreptitiously laid it between a folded parchment, crushing it. She casually folded the parchment completely then pocketed it.

Her eyes darted between the HOM and Potions Professors, observing them silently. Well certainly there is no love lost between the Hogwarts Professor and these Ministry puppets she thought as she watched the scene unfold.

EVa was confused. She had no intentions to eat in a class... She wondered why was Professor Lainey acting that way. And Professor Melita, why had she interrupted class?
It was just cookies, for God.

Via watched intensely as to what will be the result of this happening. She was still holding the cookie, but had no intention to taste it. NOw what? she thought.

Crush it up slowly Sabrina mouthed, seeing Via still holding a cookie looking confused. This was one reason why she hadn't taken a cookie. She really didn't want Professor Melita to be in here, there was no point, she should be down in the dungeons making cookies and singing cheerful nonchalent songs to herself.

Jai whistled low, darn, she was serious about them cookies. Jai was glad she didn't take any although she herself LOVED cookies she wouldn't ea it in a Hogwrats teachers class. Ministry professor, maybe.

"Pffffft. You always were so silly," she giggled again with no intention of getting up. She was here for a purpose.

VIa noticed Sabrina, Crush it? Crush what, she thought. Then she realized the cookie, OH! Okay! she mouthed. Sorry! How she wished she just hadn't taken a cookie. Cookie, she wanted to threw it. She slowly wrapped the cookie with her blank parchment and slowly crushed it into pieces. She didn't look at what she had been crushing though, her gaze was still fixed at the Two teachers.

"Silly," Lainey stated. "Silly you say. Some would say I'm mad. Lunatic. Some would have me locked in the dungeons of Hogwarts for a whole semester, too! And some - like me - would say you need to get your cheerful rump out of my classroom right now!" Lainey was so angry her body trembled in waves.

"But Professor Melita you won't like this lesson," Sabrina said putting on her sweetest smile. "Honestly we're learning about Troll and Goblin Revolutions, so horrible and upsetting subjects. You're such a nice, sweet and happy teacher, I don't think any of us want to cause you any pain and worry you." She looked really sad, "Otherwise we wouldn't have any more cookies." God she hated pretending to like this woman.
