Issy trotted down the hall, giggling at the cloppity sound of her shiney black shoes. Clopclop, clopclop, clopclp. Hands locked behind her back, bag bouncing with each trot, she hummed softly, eager for Lainey's class. After all, Lainey had been another quirky Professor and she rather liked History classes.

Upon arrival, though, Issy stopped dead and her eyes widened slightly in concerned surprise. Was Lainey mourning someone? Why was she so... dark? Not even a smile upon her face!

"Good... afternoon Professor," she greeted her Head of House, bowing slightly. "Is everything alright with you?" Tipping her head curiously, she eyed the Professor before selecting a seat in the front row.

History of Magic!! Evangeline luuuurved History of Magic with a passion - except that one lesson about Cupids last term. Argh. Not good. But she was hoping this lesson would be about a rather more ... normal theme.

Her smile kinda disappeared however when she walked into the classroom to find Lainey all dressed in black. Eeeep!! Had something happened? By the look on the woman's face, yes it had. And so, with a 'Hello, Professor', mumbled as she walked past her, Evangeline went to sit at a desk and started pulling her quill and parchment out of her bag.

Maybe it had something to do with these new schools?

Tomasina had never been to a HOM lesson and as she walked in and spotted the Professor she wasn't sure she was going to like this one. She didn't look happy to be at work today. "Good afternoon Professor." She said giving her a smile. "I have a extra chocolate frog if you'd like." She offered pulling one out of her bag to show her.

Rapunzel entered History of Magic, excited at last to have a lesson hosted by one of her favorite professors. She had a cheery smile on her face and her hair was pulled up in a high ponytail, held in place by a purple ribbon.

Punzel's mood dampened significantly, however, when she noticed Professor Lainey's drab exterior.

"Uh oh....." she muttered, her green eyes widening at the dark expression on the teacher's face. It looked like she was either heading to a funeral or like she was about to rain on a parade. "Er, hello," she said quietly, nodding to Lainey and taking a seat near the front of the room. Well this lesson looks interesting...

History of magic, well, she didn't found that subject as bad as people used to tell her it was.
It was.. interesting.
Yes, that might be the correct word to describe History Of Magic.

Ellie took a seat next to Evangeline as she looked at the professor with an slight eyebrow raised.
"Gez, a friendly smile wouldn't hurt anyone."she said in lower voice.

Upon arriving to the door that would lead her into the classroom, Melly peeked in to find some other students inside. At once, a sigh of relief escaped her lips. Good, she was not the first and apparentely she was far from being one of the last. Besides, Issy was there so she had company for sure.

With a small smile, the tiny girl walked towards her friend and sat next to her. It was only when she looked at her friend's face that she noticed that there was something wrong. What could it be, though? Blinking, she followed the other girl's look to find Professor Lainey dressed completely in black. At once, she widened her eyes. Could that possibly be the same woman who had attempted to kill both herself and the other girls with hugs?

Holding onto her bag tightly, she rushed into class, semi-breathless. Looking around, she only spotted a few people that had already chosen desks. Scanning the room, she spotted Issy in the front row. Front row? Really?

Wanting to put down her stuff, she walked over to where Issy and Melly had settled and took a desk behind her. "Hey Issy. Hi Melly" She said, still out of breath. Plopping down into her seat, the girl took a breather. Geez. She had thought she would have been late for class, which was the only reason why she had turned her side of the dorimitory into a mess, trying to find her clothes and get ready. The blonde had almost killed herself getting into the Great Hall too, slipping one a wet spot made by spilt pumpkin juice. After she had grabbed a piece of toast and shoved it into her mouth, she ran back up those stairs to reach this classroom.

Finally catching her breath, although still breating hard slightly, she surveyed her Professor. Woah. What was with the attire? Giving her a slight nod in greeting, she casted her gaze somewhere else. She didn't want to be rude.

Still eyeing Professor Lainey as the classroom slowly filled up, Evangeline only tore her eyes away when she felt someone sitting next to her. Aaah. Ellie. She hadn't seen her in ages! "Don't be too harsh, Eleanor." Hehe. The girl couldn't do anything about it inside a classroom. "Lainey is always the cheerful one, something must've happened." She whispered through the corner of her mouth.

Steelsheen walks into the classroom and nods to the dark clad Professor in acknowledgement.

Anna strolled into class with a smile on her face. She'd always loved History of Magic. It always proved to be an interesting endeavor, what with their searches for leprechauns and Giant Squids and the such. She stopped briefly to nod a hello to the professor, then made her way to the second row, taking a seat and preparing herself for the lesson to come.

Despite Lainey's current position, nothing could keep a smile off her face when her girls started showing up. "Everything is alright with me," Lainey assured Issy. "You'll see in a moment why I have a long face today."

"I'd love one actually. Though, I must pass. After the incidents last year - I've added wizarding candy to things to blacklist. But thanks anyway. You're a doll for offering."


Lainey sighed. "No, no, let's not get too comfortable. If we're going to have...," Lainey trailed off, not finishing her thought. "Just .. let's sit in the floor, shall we? On the rug, here?" Lainey pushed a few of the front desks out of the way. "Everyone down here, please."

Desdemonda sat down on the rug as the professor said to do, wondering if she should pull out any textbooks or anything. The professor certainly didn't look like her usual self... had something bad happened? Or perhaps this was just set to fit the theme of the lesson?

The brunette girl rolled her eyes.
Gez, was it really necessary call her Eleanor?
But..Oh well, they were inside a classroom.. she couldn't do much about it.. and she was kinda used Green Apple to call her Eleanor.
"I know, I know Apple." she nodded at the girl. "Its weird.. she is all dressed in black.."
Ellie liked professor Lainey, she was so funny and, as Evangeline said, cheerful.
What could happen for her to be dressed like that?
And she wasn't even smiling.
Humm Weird.

Alexis hoped that this wouldn't be another ministry class. That would be horrible. No wearing dresses either. Taking a seat on the floor, where the teacher instructed Alexis noticed that Professor Lainey wasn't her normal cheerful self. Uh oh. That meant only one thing; ministry lesson.

Sit on the floor? And leave my nice comfortable chair?

Rapunzel sighed slightly, but stood up from her desk to join the class on the rug. A change of scenery was always nice anyways. And luckily, she hadn't taken any books or quills or anything out....since usually they didn't those anyways.

The tiniest small flickered across Evangeline's lips when Ellie called her 'Apple' but her attention already was in Professor Lainey, who had told them to sit on the floor. Eh. What were they going to do anyway? With a tiny shrug, she stood up off her chair and went to sat on the rug, indian style, looking up at Professor and waiting for indications.

Kat walked into the History of magic classroom, a class she always like, raising a discrete eyebrow at Professor Lainey's appearance. She sighed chalking it up as having to do with the ministry's attempts to control the school. At the woman's directions, she moved to sit down on the rug in front of the class.

Kaika nodded, and seated pleasantly on the floor, she could've argue about it if it was some of those new professors, but since it was Prof. Lainey she just did it, wondering what could be going on with her, since she didn't seem as cheerful as usual.

"On the floor?" Serena thought, raising an eyebrow in confusion. "Ok." She said, deciding it wasn't too weird of an idea. She was used to sitting on the floor, especially in the Ravenclaw Common Room, when she refused to sit on those floral printed armchairs.

Grabbing her bag, she dumped it onto the floor and helped move the desk she had been sitting in towards the wall to make more space. Returning to where her bag had been, she sat down beside it, wondering what they were doing this lesson to be on the floor. How was she supposed to take notes?

Anna scrunched up her face in confusion as Professor Lainey directed the girls to a rug. Shrugging, Anna picked up her bag and made way for the rug. She couldn't help but wonder what was going on, as the professor didn't look all too excited at the moment.

No telling what they were all in for...

Cassandra sat on floor. She breathed a sigh of relief that Lainey was still teaching HoM... she sure did hope this wasn't another "manners" lesson. Lainey wouldn't do that to her... she was sure of it.

Upon hearing the professor's request, Melly looked at both Issy and Serena before doing what she had been told to do. She had never heard of a class where the students could sit on the floor, it was quite awkward in her opinion. But the again, was there anything normal within that school? Certainly not.

Thankfully, she actually believed that an informal environment could help one to learn. Now, if only the professor could look friendly so that the girl could actually relax...

Steelsheen couldnt help but raise an eyebrow. Sit on the rug? she thought eyeing it suspiciously as she approached to take a seat. I wonder if its bewitched to take off

Amanda walked in and noticed that Professor Lainey didn't seem too
happy, she was worried that something was wrong. She sat down on the rug and crossed her legs, waiting for the lesson to start.
