Steelsheen looked back to Tommy venting and could only sympathize. But when she threw her broom down and started to walk away, Steelsheen began to panic. She slipped off her broom, luckily landing on her feet and tried to catch her fellow Slytherin. "Tommy," she said in a half whisper "... you cant just leave, Wystan said anyone leaving must get her permission first. She'll dock points off Slytherin and we just cant afford that right now" she said keeping a lookout at the Professor making sure they werent seen.

Saffy really wanted to say that she agreed with what Steelsheen was saying.

Kayla watched with interest at Tomasina's outburst, she wholeheartedly agreed with the girl but knew there was no point in starting a mutiny. These...so called Professor's really didn't care what the girls thought and their whole life ambition was to make the girls lives hell. Kayla tried to adjust herself on the broom and resulted in sliding straight off the thing, someone had been tampering with these brooms, there was no other explanation for it.

Tomasina turned and looked at the younger girl. "I have no intention of leaving the pitch." She told her looking back at the professor. She was however not getting on that broom and riding it sideways. They were young witches not medieval couturiers! She stalked over away from the lesson and popped up her Hogwarts robes and plopped down on the ground in her skirt.

"A-Alright" Steelsheen replied, still keeping an eye on Wystan "I hope she doesnt make an issue out of this, I mean you're still here, you didnt leave right? So no reason to loose points. Nah she shouldnt dock points off." she said more to herself than to Tommy. She sighed This is gonna be a looong class she thought as she went back to her broom.

Nikki watched Professor Wystan demonstrated the “proper” way to ride a broom. Ride sideways on a broom. 'We are young witchs not ladys in training.' she thought to herself. Tomasina would be the last people she thought would have a go at a professor but oh well.

Nikki mounted to broomstick and it was so slippery, her hands wouldn't stay in the same place, 'this is stupid, I want to ride normally.' she thought again. Nikki sat on the broomstick hoping she wouldn’t slip off. Her broom was way to slippery so she held on tighter. That helped a bit but not much, she held her seating position the way the professor had showed her but it wasn't easy. She sighed as she watched the Tommy outburst unfold.

Sapphire looked at her broom, she was slightly starting to dislike this school, she had always ridden her broom how she wanted at home, even though her father had taught her to ride the broom like a lady.

Sapphire mounted the broom like the professor had requested and sat like she was instucted to as she had just sat down, she heard a older Slytherin kicking off and one or two trying to calm her, Sapphire thought to herself Please don't loose anymore points Sapphire looked around and saw that a lot of the other girls were struggling to keep on, she wanted to tell them how she did it but was weary of the professor, Sapphire sat on her broom and waited for the next instruction.

Celandine had stood quietly and listened at the Professors instructions.
Confidently she put her hand over her broom, "Up!" and it came up, but as slippery as it was it slid from her hand almost immediately, luckily she caught it with her other hand; discovering that if she held it gently it wouldn't go sliding everywhere.

She tried her best to ignore the Slytherin drama unfolding...although she was hoping that they wouldn't lose points for it, they were her friends even if they were in a different house.

Frowning she did as the professor said, mounting the broom sideways and holding the broom as gently as possible so that it wouldn't go sliding out of her hands again.

Via's eyes wandered around the quidditch pitch and when she heard Professor Wystan's instructions, she followed. She had her ministry approved broom, which was kinda slippery, based upon the looks. She was a muggleborn, so she never had ride a broomstick. Except for the fact that when she was still a child, she had watched this movie about three witches flying with brooms, her mind made her believe she could fly too, using their broom she tried but she wasn't able to fly. And this time she'll be learning how to fly. Via was eager to learn how.

She held up her hand over the broomstick and said, "Up!" the broomstick just rolled over the ground. Can't i just pick it up, she thought. She drew a deep breath and again said, "Up!" This time the broom's handle reached her hand. I did it, she thought smiling.

The professor then instructed them to mount their brooms, sideways. Sideways? Via asked herself quietly. She was puzzled, it's like it's going to be princess riding a horse, she crazily thought gripping her broom tightly so it wouldn't slip.

A Slytherin suddenly said she wasn't mounting her broom. Via was surprised but thought of the Slytherin girl to be brave. She had never seen a student do that.

Rian wasn't the best broom rider in the first place, and now she had to learn to ride one sideways? With her new-found clumsiness, she would surely end up in the hospitle wing in a matter of minutes.

She grumbled something about not wanting broken bones, and tried to get on her broom. As she had predicted, she slipped off, landing on her backside. "ooph!"

She glared at the ground and got back up on her feet. "Okay, let's try this again." she muttered.

Via mounted her broom, gripping it tightly, she slipped. "Oh!" This is hard, she thought, the other way around's much better.

Via saw other students, like her. She wasn't alone. She had to try again. And this time she'll gonna make it.

"Absolutely not. The Ministry says you will ride on the right side and you will obey," Wystan snapped and felt herself sliding on her own broomstick.

"What do you think this is - broom racing class?"

"You have a great deal to learn - Twenty points from Slytherin for your complete lack of respect towards me and the Ministry," she hissed. "Five more points from Slytherin for complete disregard for school property and another five points for attempting to leave this lesson."

"Ten points from Slytherin for your remark and talking without permission," Wystan added.



"Five points for talking during my lesson."

"You simply cannot follow any rules. Five points for sitting down without permission and another five for continuing to interrupt my lesson." Her violet eyes narrowed in on the girl. "Leave my lesson immediately and you are banned from attending any flying classes for the duration of the term."


Turning her attention to the rest of the class, Madam Wystan glared at them. "I told everyone to sit sideways on your brooms! Quit squirming about and try to push off the ground. Wobble once and you'll land on the dirt. If I catch anyone trying to fly about, House Points will fall."

She didn't even try to demonstrate since her broomstick was getting slicker by the minute.

What?! 55 points from slytherin, thanks heaps Tommy! she thought to herself as she watched the professor with hate in her eyes. Nikki looked down at her broom, she finally had control over it. Sighing she sat how the professor had said and held the broomstick gentally.

Sabrina just looked on in shock as the teacher in front of her continued to take points. Come on then Sabrina said as she pushed off the ground and stayed in the air. The broomstick was slippery, but she managed to keep herself upright. There was no way she was going to wobble and fall on the ground, it would ruin her hair and she would get into trouble.

Tomasina stood up from her position, this woman did not scare her. Her mother could eat her for breakfast and not chock on the bones. "Fine." She said glaring at her. She wasn't going to be pushed around by her any longer. "I would rather be banned from ever attending one of your pointless classes than having to learn how to fly sideways on slippery brooms." Her chest was heaving and she was squaring off for a battle. "So am I dismissed yet?" She asked.

Via was shocked. 55 points, for only one lesson, she thought. She saw the Slytherins shocked expressions too. She had to be more careful and avoid breaking the rules in here. She gently held her broomstick as she pushed off the ground. She managed to stay up in the air for a couple of feet since she was just a beginner.

Magesta watched in shock as Professor Wystan knocked a ton of points off of Slytherin. She glanced at Sabrina and saw that she had already kicked off the ground. This is getting ridiculous. She sighed and followed Sabrina's lead. Pushing off the ground she nearly fell off as her broom hovered in the air. She cursed inwardly and held on tight making sure she was still sitting in the "correct" form.

Ari flinched as Professor Wystan blew up at the Slytherin. 55 points taken in less than five minutes? Must be a new record she thought as she closed her eyes for a moment, trying in vain to block out the enormity of the professors' vile emotions. She needed out ... now. But she knew she'd loose points, get a detention and probably a suspension for a month if she did so instead she took a deep breath and shivered.

Once she felt under control - of her broom and her mind - she kicked up gently so that she hovered over the ground a couple feet where she once stood an sighed. Well one thing out of the way, next was up to the professor. She prayed that the Slytherin would stop, but alas it wasn't the case as she listened intently, trying to stay above and on her broom. Oh why couldn't she wait until after the lesson?

Amanda stood there and was quite frustrated. 55 points gone..and the lesson isn't even over yet. She tried to sit sideways on the broom as Professor Wystan showed them, but it wasn't easy. She held on tight to the broom and managed to stay on it for the most part.

The only thought that continued to race through Astrid's mind was 'Oh my goodness, don't fall off.' She did NOT want to risk making this Professor any more angry than she already was. She did exactly as she was instructed and put 100% of her concentration on lifting her broom off of the ground while in the correct position. She went up, hovered there for about 30 seconds and touched back down again. Whew! Somehow she managed to stay on.

Amanda stayed on the broom properly for a good minute or two then slowly touched her feet back down to the ground and got off the broom.

Ellie couldn't believe in what was happening.
Slytherin House Points were unfairly falling, at a huge speed.
55 points... 55 damn points gone in less than five minutes!
She pressed her lips against each other to avoid open her mouth.
She just needed to keep it all inside until some Hufflepuff bump at her and then she wou... or maybe she could just explode her pillow when she got back to the dorms.

The brunette girl tried to kicked up her broom gently, but it seemed she was feeling too angry so she did it less gently that was she was expecting.
She hovered over the ground a couple feet where she stood still looking at the professor.
I hope she doesn't take me points for looking. humpf

Gwen sat on her broom like a statue, hoping she could stay on her broom with a combination of balance and rigidity. She watched the back- and- forth between Tommy and Wystan with wide eyes.

I should've skived.

If Steelsheen didnt need both her hands to keep herself on the broom, she'd be burrying her face in them. 5 points for talking, and another 50 from Slytherin house. she groaned inwardly. She looked at Wystan in anger, she wished she could transfigure into a dragon and swallow her whole. Instead all she could do was push herself gently off the ground, making sure she doesnt slip off the broom.

Amelia watched in astonishment as Professor Wystan went all out on Slytherin with docking at least 50 points from them. Naturally the seventh year was quite pleased with this result, but still disappointed that Snakes seemed to remain leading them. Ah well, they'd catch up sooner or later - they had to.

Focusing her attention on the Professor's words as she addressed the rest of the class at last, she held herself still on the broomstick. Surprisingly, giving the glossy handle, she was quite good at holding still. This might be from her experience of years as playing quidditch and then in all different positions too. She pushed off gently with her foot and then hovered low over the ground, waiting for next instructions.
