"Good evening, Professor." Will said, entering the class and looking around, trying to choose a seat. "...And Gesundheit." He said with a smile at the professor sneezed hugely. Great... another professor with bodily function issues. Perfect.

Sho walked in just as the professor sneezed. He shield himself with the textbook and then wiped it off with a piece of parchment. The classes couldn't be evil and annoying like the rest of this place...

"Hello professor," he said before taking a seat.

Josh walked into the classroom as he moved towards the middle of the classroom. He didnt want to stay near the back because he was sure he would fall asleep, but not to close to the front just in case the professor has a lapse of insanity or something."Hello Professor." he said as he took his seat and pulled out his books for class.

Hitachi walked in the classroom and smiled at the new professor. "Hello Professor Kapoor, a pleasure to meet you," he said pleasantly while finding a seat.

After greeting the students, he shut the door to his classroom and began the lesson.

"Welcome to Divination. My name is Professor David Kapoor and I'll be teaching you the subject this term and each subsequent term." He pulled out the handkercheif and blew his nose producing a rather comical horn-like sound. "We'll be talking about symbols and common themes found throughout Divination today. You'll find that, although variances exist from culture to culture, almost all things in the study of Divination are relatable to one another through certain universal themes." He took out his wand and drew a circular shape with it. "Infinity, wholeness, unity. These are things which are associated with the circle. Also, feminine power and the element of fire."

He took his wand and drew a horizontal line in the middle of the circle, halfing it. "Water." He then drew a vertical line down the middle of the halved circle and quartered it so that it looked like a pie chart. "Earth." He turned back to the class, hoping that they were taking notes.

"Like Earth, which has a negative and feminine vibration, all of the planets and celestial bodies have a specific gender and either a negative or positive charge to which they are atuned. Who can tell me what charge and gender are associated with the planet Mercury?"

Will raised a tenative hand. "I believe it is male and positive, sir."

Hitachi raised his hand and said, "Professor, I believe male and the charge, positive?"

Trey raised his hand "Is the charge positive and Mercury is neither masculine nor feminine but neutral?" he said questionly.

Hitachi heard what a younger boy had said and nodded in slight agreement. "You stress a good point, young one."

Cale sat in his seat, his mouth hanging open slightly. Ok, he was totally lost. This class was going to be tough for him, he could tell. "Is the charge positive and male?" he answered as he raised his hand, guessing it was the opposite of the example he gave.

"Yes, that is correct. Two points to Slytherin."

"It is. Two points for you."

"Sometimes. But, traditionally, and more often than not, it is considered masculine. But, you're thinking outside the box." He said interpreting this as the boys open mind at work. "Two points."

"Yes, that's correct. Two points for Gryffindor." He said loud enough for the class to hear him. "And, don't look so bewildered. I promise it will all make sense by the end of the term." He said speaking mostly to the Gryffindor boy.

"Excellent, gentlemen!" He said congratulating them on their efforts and having a feeling they were going to be an easy lot to teach. "Every planet, as I mentioned, has a charge and a gender. Also, each planet & celestial body that you find in Divination has a set of things which it symbolizes. Although not a planet, the moon, for example, is associated with the feminine mystique, night-forces, yin. In the tarot's major arcana, the Moon card is significant of emotions and secretiveness. Who can tell me the gemstone to which the moon is associated with in Jyotish Planetary Gemology? Aaand, who can tell me what energy and gender the Sun has?"

"The moon's gemstone is generally any white stone, but mainly pearl, I believe. The Sun has a positive charge and is male." Will answered quickly, his hand still up.

Cale flipped through his text and raised his hand, "Wouldn't the sun be male, because it is the most dominant thing in our universe?" he said. "so, would that make it a positive energy?" he added, trying to get the subject. It was starting to get a little easier.

But just a little.

Raising his hand again, he said, "The moon is associated with the pearl in the Jyotish Planetary Gemology, I believe."

Hitachi raised his hand in confusion. "Professor, the moon's gemstone is usually a white stone. The sun's rays are terrible to with stand and this is a quality of men. It's charge is positive." He let his hand down, praying he was right.

Trey raised his hand slowly " The moon is associated with the pearl in Jyotish Planetary Gemology. And I believe the sun is masculine with a positive charge" he said.

Garret watched everyone else scamper to answer the questions and he wondered what book they'd been reading and where he could find it. Probably the library, but he hadn't been by that way yet. Too many Ravies for his liking... And besides, he couldn't understand half the words the professor was sprouting. Jyotish whatchamacalits and thingamabobbies... He was going to possibly be the worst student in this class.

"Correct. Three points."

"Your belief is correct, sir. And, yes the sun is masculine, but not neccessarily for the idea of it being so domineering. It is aggressive, as opposed to the feminine passive, but domineering suggest strength and superiority, which could be false of the energy the sun gives off. It is merely more 'go-getter'. Three points." He hoped his explaination wouldn't confuse the student.

Professor Kapoor held his handkerchief close to his face and hid a snicker into the cloth. "Are men terrible to withstand? I agree that some of us are, but more specifically, I'm looking at the aggressive quality which is associated with masculinity. It's charge is positive, though. You are correct. Three points."

"Exactly. Very good answer. Three points to Slytherin."

The Professor felt proud of this class, they were really quite alert and doing very well.

"Great answers. Yes, all of you are doing very well. Gemstones use in Divination is minor as compared to it's use in ayervedic theraphy which is more related to colour. But, its use is still important and related to the study of Astrology. In Astrology, a person is born under the influences of certain planets. If a particular planets' influence is weak, a gemstone is prescribed. As in medicine, when someone has an iron defiency, they are prescribed diets with iron-rich foods. Which Jyotish gem is associated with the sun? And, which Western Astrological sign?"

Trey again raised his hand, "The Jyotish gem associated with the sun is the ruby! And, which Western Astrological sign would be Leo."

Ooh, Garret was already on that page anyway and as he flipped the pages, his hand shot up, the competitiveness coming out in him. "The gem for the sun is Rubies, which me mum loves but can't afford, and the zodiac is Leo... which is me mum's starsign."

He had to thank his mum for that one later.

"The sun is associated with the ruby, sir," Cale said, raising his hand. That made sense. The ruby was red and reminded him of fire, like the sun. "And the sign it is associated with Leo," he added. Huh, a lion, just like his house..."Professor, do you think that might be why the colors of Gryffindor house are red and gold? Like the sun? And the sign of the Leo is the lion? Well, it could of course just be because lions are brave...it was just a thought," he said, blushing. Great, he had started rambling in front of the class. How lovely.

Hitachi raised his hand and said, "Professor, either Red garnet or red tourmaline is associated with the sun. The Astrological sign would be Leo, Professor." He smiled and leaned back, impressed with himself.

"The gems of the Sun are rubies in Jyotish astrology, and the western sign associated with it is Leo, I believe." Will answered.

Austin answered, "The gem for the sun is a Ruby in Jyotish astrology, and the sun is Leo in western sign. I think."

Jason raised his hand. "The jyotish sign is ruby and the astrologicl is my sign, Leo." He laughed. "That's for Griffindor, too."
