"Once you've managed to seat yourself, you will have to manually move your chair to leave the table once again. A lady doesn't scoot her chair while she is still sitting in it, however. She rises and moves the chair back once her weight is no longer in the chair. If you have a good dining companion, he will anticipate you and help pull the chair out, but he will ALWAYS rise when you do. It is a demonstration of respect. He cannot be seated while a lady is standing in the room." She stood gracefully and left the table. "Try it a few times. Once you've mastered sitting, try spreading your skirt a bit as you sit in order to avoid creasing it in the back." |
Walking up to the table Alexis tried not to laugh at their next instructions. It was loony. You could take the loonies out of Hogwarts but you couldn't take tech Hogwarts out of the loonies. Alexis though as she sat down when the chair pulled back. Hoping she would not fall back down on the floor she got her wish as she felt something sold. Trying to work out the next set of instructions Alexis gave a confused look. "Now....I'm lost." |

"So I see you got chosen by Gryffindor. I'm Hufflepuff but that's ok, I still want to be friends. I do hope though that Hufflepuff can come from behind on points." |

Taking a deep breath, she looked at Issy as she fixed Juniper's dress and imitated her, speaking the same words as her friend, though pointing at her own dress and then, in a second or two, the dress shrunk so that it fit her perfectly. In just a few seconds, the clothe was glued to her body making it look as if that had always been the size of the dress. Once she heard Issy gasping, Melly turned around at once with an enormous beam that touched her sparkly eyes. Her first spell. She had done her first spell! "Do I?" She asked, looking at her image in the mirror again. Oh Merlin, SHE DID! She was a princess! Princess Melly! Oh, how she wanted to bounce around and dance in that flowy, beautiful dress! Hopefully they would be allowed to do that. After all, didn't even dancing have its own etiquette? "YES!," She breathed, clapping her hands twice and even jumping up and down a bit. Ecstatic, that was what she was. Quote:
Nodding, she pulled a straight face, only allowing a small smile on her lips. She was dressed like a princess so she was going to act like one, which she did. As gracefully as her tiny body allowed her, she stepped towards the chair and waited for it to move and once she did, she sat on it without hesitation. Beaming, she turned to Issy and giggled. "I did it!" |
Ashley walked up to the table and after rying 3 times she was finally able to sit down and fix her skirt as the proffesor told us to do |

"Sorry about not answering you before." Sheeta whispered, "I just didn't want to lose points." |
Jade nodded at Sheeta and said, "I em for liking to still being friends." She stood up from her seat just as the professor had instructed and then practiced taking her seat several more times, getting better at it each time she did so. "I do believe I may getting better each time I go," she said, sitting once more. |

Again, she tried the seating. It was easier now that she anticipated the chair coming to slide in. Once slid in all properly, she pursed her lips. Spreading her skirt...? But... shouldn't she cross her legs?! Chewing her lips, she spread the skirt out on the chair, keeeping her legs together at the knees like a proper little lady. This was like a biiig tea party. With out the tea. Or Fredreich. Fredreich always attended her tea parties. Turning to her other side, she grinned at Melly. "This is FUN!" she squeaked, delighted. |

"Try doing that almost all your life." Sheeta smiled at Jade. It had been a few years since the last dinner party her mom had thrown for the ministry but Sheeta hadn't forgotten how to be proper... she had just learned how to be more tom boyish. |
Juniper giggled as Issy forced a dress over Becca’s head. “Issy, Professor Rae said we didn’t have to wear dresses. Becca’s welcome to wear her boring old uniform instead of a dress,” she said quietly. Her eyes widened as Issy turned to her and squealed. “My hair? My hair’s impossible.” Juniper spoke very matter-of-factly as she looked down at the too-long dress. She grinned as Issy tried the spell and her dress was hemmed at the right length. “Ooh! Can I try the spell on your dress, Issy?” She looked at her friend’s dress, which was not quite as long compared to her own had been. Rescario, rescario, rescario. Juniper thought the word over and over in her head. “Rescario,” Juniper said firmly, pointing her wand at the dress where it reached the floor. A tiny hem appeared on Issy’s dress, slightly looser and messier than the hem on Juniper’s dress, but still tidy and inconspicuous. She smiled happily and followed Issy to the table. Walking up to the chair next to Melly's, Juniper stepped in front of the chair and sat down, fully expecting to fall. She was quite surprised, therefore, when she ended up seated on the chair. Giggling, Juniper lifted her weight until her legs supported her as she hovered above the chair. She pushed the chair back until she was able to stand straight up and grin at Issy. “Isn't standing up again fun, Issy?” Juniper asked as she sat back down and swept her skirts out, spreading them around her. “It’s not too hard.” |
Usagi sat down and stood up perfectly like the Professor have instructed. What's the use of even having a relative being the Minister of Magic for Vietnam? She have been to numerous dinners, formal ones, of course. And she was more than happy to see her silver sparkling dress fit her earlier. Silver was her favorite color - if she's not counting pink, 'cause she does look fat when she wears anything pink. |
Melinda sat on the chair, then listened to the professor's instuctions and tried to follow them as well as she could. She stood up, then took the chair with her hand and pushed it in the table like the professor said. She hoped it was right. |

Hmm. That wasn't so bad. Next, she attempted to sit and position her skirt in a manner that wouldn't crease it. Ugh. She sort of felt weird doing this. It just seemed too...fancy. |
Once seated comfortably, she froze. Getting up then sitting down again, without the help of a gentlmean. She smirked at the mention of the word. All the boys she met had not been gentlmen, instead they were, well she wouldn't think of that right then. Instead she found herself standing up before moving her chair back just like the Professor asked of them before sitting down again. She cast a curious glance around her, which messed up her concentration. All of a sudden the girl in the canary tyellow dress robes went crashing to the flor as she tried to grab the chair to st down. The chair didn't like that and skitted away from her, sending her reeling down onto the floor, giggling. She stood up, and shook her head, dusting herself off with grace before trying it again. KEeping her hands on her sides she moved to stand before the chair, which had gone back to normal and moved to sit down, feeling the solid chair under her as she placed her hands on her lap. SItting down was easy she thought before getting her concentration back to getting up again. How had she done it she thought getting up without touching the chair and then moving it once she was completely off again. Hmm, that seemed right she thought. Once aagain she seated herself, this time spreading her skirt on the chair before sitting down, feeling rather foolish to be honest. But hey, as long as someone wasn't attacking her she was fine. She remained seated as she looked for further instruction, wondering if they'd be eating. Probably not seeing as how it would break the rules. |
Jade smiled, spreading her skirt so that it did not crease as she sat down, though she couldn't hide her disappointment in the class. She had been ready to practice some defensive magic, but was instead being made to take etiquette classes. Still, she smiled again at Sheeta, perhaps a little sympathetically. "I vould hating for to be proper all de time." |

Amelia giggled as she compared her outfit to a bumblebee. She probably should have been offended but the whole etiquette lesson was actually quite amusing. "okay then, thanks Punz," she smiled at her friend as she then returned to the wall to wait for the next set of instructions. Quote:

Upon closer look to the young girl, she realized the girl was chatting! Her eyes widened as strolled over to the dear and tapped her on the shoulder. In a low whisper she calmly said, "excuse me, but I just wanted to let you know that we're in a lesson right now and even if you're not dressing up, then at least partake in the table etiquette part." She smiled politely and waited, expecting she would need to show the young girl what to do. |
Sam tilted her head at the next instruction. How do you get up without scooting your chair? Man, being a lady was too hard. She stood up and nearly fell over. "Dang!" she muttered under her breath. To regain her balance, she sat back down onto her chair. Too hard! Too hard! Too hard! Taking a deep breath, she tried to calm herself down. She needed to jsut chill. It was just a harmless lesson. Plus none of the ministry people were in the room. It was just Professor Rae and some people she knew and were close to. She was taking this way too seriously. Just have fun. Thats what Benny would of said. He always knew how to make a bad situation funny. Sam didnt have that trait. "Try again. You can do this." she said to herself. Slowly, she stood up from her chair. Not as fast as before in which she almsot fell. After she knew she wasnt going to fall, she slowly moved the chair away from her without making that screechsound. "I did it!" she said excitedly. Smiling triumphantly, she stepped back to the chair letting it move under her again. |
