Jade nodded, still frowning a little. She shrugged finally, deciding to leave it well enough alone. The dress robes looked fine as they were, but she simply preferred to wear them longer. Sighing in resignation, she walked to the far wall and stood in a line between two other students.

Happily, Issy was on her knees before the trunk, digging happily. So many pretty dresses! Suddenly, she didn't want the blue one in her arms. She'd give it to Becca who was decidedly not participating over on the wall. Continuing to dig, she finally found a gorgeous light pink set of robes. Gasping, she withdrew it, squealing again, happily.

"Eeeeeeeeeeeee! Melly, isn't it so pretty? Oh! Look Melly, look!"

Quickly, she set that one aside with the blue one for Becca, beaming up at Melly.

"Let's find you one right quick," she agreed, continuing to sift. So many pretty things! Some were much, much bigger, though. Finally, though, she withdrew a lovely little dark blue set. "This'll go really great with your hair and it will make your eyes stand out," she said, standing up and passing the robes off to her. Waving the blue ones around, she proclaimed, "Let's give this to Becca!"

Then she ran off to Becca. When stopped, she donned the formal robes, feeling giddy and happy. Like a Princess! A pretty little happy princess!

"Becca, here!" she cried, thrusting the blue robes at her friend. "Put yours on, Melly, and we'll resize them, alright?"

Her voice was still chripy and happy. DRESS UP!

Kaos.Doodles 06-16-2008 12:20 AM

Picking out a blue dress Alexis sighed, it didn't have anything cool like Hippogriffs on it but at least it wasn't pink. Putting on the dress Alexis grinned, it wasn't too long, good that meant no spells for her. Making her way back to the wall she waited for more instructions.

Hmm, 'use it for other ways', Steelsheen thought, mulling the Professor's words over. Indeed could be useful, might as well learn it.

Sighing, Steelsheen approached the trunk and took out some pearl white robes. Putting it on, she realized it was too long for her 11 year old frame, with the hem in several folds on the floor, the sleeves too long for her arms.

"Resarcio" Steelsheen said waving her wand over her dress. The hem drew up, and the sleeves shortened. Hmm, I guess that wasnt so bad, she said smiling inspite of herself.

*Sheeta saw Jade again and once again, tried to speak to the girl. Apparently, Jade hadn't heard Sheeta while the Arithmancy lesson was ending.*

"Hi Jade, do you remember me from the carriages? It's Sheeta!" Sheeta said softly so as to not interrupt the professor.

Amelia nodded to Rae when she offered thanks; she figured helping out the professors was the least she could do in the mess they were in. They were after all just as unhappy as the students were. She smiled and offered a one-armed hug in return, still clutching her chosen dress with her other arm.

Listening to the professor tell about mending she nodded and strolled over to a corner where she slipped into the gold and black robes. It was almost right, except the sleeves were a bit long. "Resarcio," she muttered, waving her wand at the appropriate level on each sleeve. Oops, now the sleeve lengths were slightly off. "Uh Rapunzel?" she called to her younger friend. "These sleeve lengths... they're not too noticeable, right?"

Torie was still in shock over the topic of this lesson, but even she could agree with the value of it after the Professor had explained. Walking over to the trunk, she picked out a beautiful gown of emerald green which offset her hair perfectly. Pulling it over her head, she took a moment to enjoy the billow of the skirt as she swirled herself around. Giggling softly to herself, Torie became lost in a bit of a daydream.

Snapping back to herself, Torie blushed a brilliant scarlet. Give her a pretty dress and Torie Ledger, tomboy extraordinaire, becomes *gasp* a GIRL???? Quickly, Torie took a spot along the wall with the other girls. Hopefully no one had noticed.

Jade waved at Sheeeta, though she was a little reluctant to chat in class since she'd seen a few girls repremanded for it in her Arithmancy class earlier that day. "Hi," she said. "It's good to see you again."

Desdemonda glanced around at all the other students, thinking deeply. Some of them had made a fuss initially... and while she wasn't thrilled, either.... she would have to make the best of it. With that in mind and a slight smirk on her face, she drew her wand and traced it from her shoulder to her waist, muttering the transfiguration charm they'd learned last term under her breath and picturing an elegant dress in her mind. In place of her school uniform came a slim, elegant medieval dress robe set, made of emerald silk and silver celtic embroidery around the edges. Yes. That would do, and hopefully participation would please the professor, even if she hadn't picked a dress from the other selection. Really she didn't mind these sorts of clothes... it was the lessons on ettiquette that upset her. She stood back near the wall as instructed and waited, glancing around once more. Merlin, she didn't know anyone here... besides that Hufflepuff who had slammed right into her at the start of term.

"Yeah thanks" Kayla muttered as she lifted one out of the trunk. She put the dress over her head and went and looked in the mirror. Oh good lord she looked like an overgrown red marshmallow, it sat on her like a potato sack. "Uh...Professor how do I fix this so it looks...er halfway decent?" she asked looking in the mirror again and cringing at the sight.

"You know," Rae mused as she watched the girls adjusting their dresses, "I just happened to remember how useful this spell was to me when I was an Auror. I attached large leaves and my jacket to make a shelter for myself and Professor Lainey during a rain storm at a stakeout, and I believe that I stitched shut a nasty cut on my partners arm with it, and he had only minimal scarring. So I guess... in some ways... this is a defensive spell." She hid a smile and waited for them to finish.

Becca looked at Issy in digust. "Um, no, I think I'll pass," she replied rather flatly. "I think I'll just watch. I'm, err, not really a dress up person." That's for sure, she added mentally. In her opinion, this whole entire school was some horrible joke. A tragic mistake, to say the least. Becca was quite content with watching all the other girls dress up, and plotting which ones would be a humorous target to trip. When Rae mentioned Lainey, she let out a quiet sigh. If Lainey had been there, she probably would be forcing Becca into one of the more formal clothing items. But, Becca currently did not care about making her proud. She would not wear one of those.

What happened to your accent? It was pretty! Sheeta asked confusedly.

*Hearing that her teacher had used this spell to help heal a person's wounds, Sheeta smiled even more than when she had heard about the spell. Now not only had she learned a spell, she had learned one that could be used to heal a person!*

Jane smiles. "Maybe we can sneak in some defence along with ettiquete after all," she thinks. She then threw on some emerald robes, that were a bit too long. Muttering the spell professor rae had taught them, her hem rose a bit. "Some girls might get too much use out of this spell," she thinks, smirking.

It was quite hard for Melina to know exactly when was the last time she had felt so... ecstatic, so full of life. Not that she cared at that particular moment for her mind was too busy staring at the dresses the other girls were picking and at the ones that were still inside the trunk. So many gorgeous ones that she had no idea of which one she'd like for herself. Hopefully, she'd set her mind on one before the rest vanished.

And then, then Issy found the most beautiful one she had ever seen: dark blue. And the cut... Oh Merlin, it was so beautiful! It looked as if it had belonged to a princess! Or even a queen! It was simple and yet so flowy, so astonishing! In fact, Melina couldn't help but stare at the dress with her mouth wide open before carefully holding it into her hands. It was so beautiful she could not believe anyone else hadn't spotted it before.

"Thank you, Issy!!" She exclamated, looking up at her friend with her eyes filled with tears. Happiness tears of course. Oh what would Allen say if he saw her at that moment?

Not waiting another second, the girl put on the dress, finding that it was extremely big for her. Hmm... They'd have to make it not only shorter but make it actually fit her for it was far too loose. Nevertheless, she adored it! Oh, yes, she did. "Issyyyy, I've put it on!" She called. "Did you put yours, yet?"

"Really?" Jezz perked up. She wanted to be an Auror one day. "That's crazy." She looked at the other girls. "Stop whining, we're learning something, be happy. At least we aren't just discussing cookies." She said remembering the potions lessons.

Juniper grinned as she scurried forward to choose a dress. She reached into the trunk and withdrew a dark, navy blue dress that was decorated only with tiny white flowers embroidered around the waist. Even holding it, Juniper could tell it would be too long, but it was perfect for her. Juniper slipped into the dress and held up the length of the skirt as she ran after Issy and Melina.

“Issy!” Juniper squeaked as she caught up to her friend. “Mine’s too long. Will you help me figure out where to hem it?”

The sleeves on one side of her robe were just a little short, which wasn't a problem....but they were very, er, billowly. "No no, the sleeves are fine...just...these HuffieMcPuffer themed robes....remind me of a bumblebee." She started giggling again, clapping a hand over her mouth lest she seem rude.

"That is so cool! Maybe afterwards, you could show me how you got that to work?" Sheeta's troubles with not being properly taught or not being able to help Hufflepuff were discintegrating fast as every second, a new magical thing was being revealed to Sheeta.

"Hush you," Savannah responded in the same quiet tone, back to Alexis, refraining from poking her tongue out, and went forward. Giggling lightly as she looked over to Ariana, looking through, Savannah found a very dark, blue, almost appearing black, fabric, and pulled it out. Holding it against herself to see, "Hmmm" With her messenger bag at her feet, the fifteen year old slipped the dress robes. Almost a perfect fit, but not quite, it was abit too long. Drawing her wand from the side-pocket of her bag, she pointed it at the bottom of the fabric, Res..arc..io "Resarcio" She said, carefully hemming it on the first attempt.

Checking quickly in the mirror, Savannah was pleased, and grabbed her messenger bag before returning to the wall with Alexis.

Eyes widening, brows shooting into her fringe, Issy stared, aghast, at their Professor.

"You can use that on your body?" she asked, shocked. "How? Your body hasn't any thread! Did you... did you have to thread it, Professor?" Instantly, her face paled under the scattering of light freckles on her nose and for a moment, she swayed, Becca's robes in her hands, as she tried to picture Professor Rae threading an ambiguous arm. Urgh! Now she felt kind of ill... Turning away, she made a face, looking back at Becca.

It probably would have been easier to just unbutton it, but that would mean she'd have to try and fight it onto Becca's arms and all.

"Comeooooon Becca!" she cried again, distraught. "It's fuun!"

Becca was being a party pooper. At least Juni wanted her help. Leaving Becca with her head poking through the robes, Issy turned to Juni, hoping that Becca would at least slide the robes the rest of the way on. Eyes falling on Juni's robes, Issy let out a gasp.

"Oh that's so PRETTY!" she squealed delightedly, clapping her hands again. "You look so pretty Juni! Oh! Now I want to do your hair!" If only they could keep these. Sigh.

"Alright. She said the spell is... rescario? Right?" Pursing her lips, Issy eyed the hem of the robes, which were gathering and bunching at Juni's feet. "How about we do it to the floor, alright?" Aiming her wand, she focused, quietly whispering the word over and over, until she was sure the pronounciation was right.

"Rescario!" Sure enough, a very, very faint line appeared and the robes hemmed.

"Eeeeek! I did it! Yaaay!" She would have hated to mess up Juni's pretty robes.

Turning to Melly now, Issy gasped again. "Oh! MELLY! YOU LOOK LIKE A PRINCESS!" And she did! The dark blue on her pale skin with her red hair was a lovely, gorgeous appearance. How pretty! Twirling, she let her robes float up slightly. "Is mine pretty, too, Melly? Juni? Oh you guys are so pretty! Becca PUT YOURS ON!"

Bright eyes came out hopeful and Issy slung her arms around the shoulders of Juni and Melly. Oh, she felt like such a princess! A pretty princess!
