Destini sat back in her sparkling blue dress robes and breathed a sigh. After such a wonderful meal how in the world could she fit in some dessert. However, this was a lesson on manners and etiquette. She did not want to be rude and decided to try the heavy chocolate mousse. She leaned a little closer to the table and took a taste, "Oh this is delicious!" |
Nikita was so full to bursting that she couldn't imagine eating anything else, but seeing as she wasn't allergic to any of the desserts, she didn't see a polite way of avoiding the food. She inspected the three choices, trying to judge which was the least rich and therefore more likely to make her sick. The crème brûlée didn't look too harmful, so Nikita took a medium sized portion. She took the remaining spoon and dipped it into the dessert. Gingerly, she took a bite, monitoring her stomach for any warning signs, and not feeling any signs of complete sickness, soon finished the tasty, sugary treat. |

She turned to Mia. "You should address me by my title. It's an honorific that I've earned, and to do less is to deny my status. A lady can be a professor too." She smiled. "So. Finish eating, and I'll post your homework assignment on the board. You can leave wen you're done eating." The words appeared on the board. Homework Assignment: Worth 20 points total * 5 facts you've learned from today's lesson. * 5 Defensive spells you know or have heard of * 5 Defense topics you would like to learn about |
*Sheeta finished her small helping of pudding and then, "just as a polite young lady should" she stood up from her chair without scootching it out. She removed the borrowed dress robes, revealing her normal school uniform beneath. Placing the robes in the trunk, Sheeta addressed the professor.* "Headmistress Rae?" Sheeta asked, "What if you you've never heard of any defensive spells?" Sheeta felt embarassed about the fact and started to blush. Though she was the daughter of a well acomplished witch and wizard, Sheeta had never really done much with magic or been taught about spells. She really was quite similar to a muggle young girl. |

Amelia listened as Rae responded to one of the slytherin girls about cleaning her plate. Grinning, she moved to clean her own plate of pudding but stopped halfway through. Her face must have been the color of a fresh tomato by now. "Oh I'm sorry Headmistress Rae," she told her honestly, biting her lip. "I know that it is an honor what you have earned and you are inspiration to us all." Bah. Enough kissing up to the professor; time to finish the pudding... She nodded as Rae told them to finish eating and she would post the homework up on the board. Making a note to write that down before leaving, she looked down at her plate and resumed her 'cleaning'. |

Daphne looked at her empty plate, and decided she didn't need another helping of pudding. She started to scoot the chair away from the table, but when she heard the scraping, she knew that mustn't be proper. She then lifted her weight from the chair and pushed it away, allowing her to stand. She turned and walked over to the professor. "Thank you very much, Professor, for this wonderful lesson. The food was to die for!" she said in her most adult-like manner. Walking over to a corner, littered with school uniforms, she began rifling through the piles to find the clothing she arrived in. She caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror. She stopped what she was doing and looked at herself in the aqua gown. The full-length gown truly emphasised her height and physique. Daphne always had problems finding the best colour to match her complexion and hair tone. Being a red-head was quite difficult in the wardrobe department, it always seemed to clash with things. Sadly eyeing her reflection, she put her back to the mirror. It wasn't her dress, and wasn't her place to even ask to keep it. Then, Daphne had an idea. Daintily strolling back to the professor, she stood as tall as possible. Flashing a charming smile, she pleasantly asked, "Where would you like me to leave this simply gorgeous gown? I wish I had one so stunning as this!" She figured this was subtle enough to both show she was willing to return it, but also that she had some interest in the garment. She stood solid, exuding confidence. |
"Well, that truly was an interesting lesson," Destini thought to herself. "Definately not anything like Andrew described DADA to be. Sure hope that changes." She looked at the homework assignment on the board and sighed, "More homework. At least this assignment is an easy one." She looked backed at Professor Rae and waited for her dismiss. She did pay attention during the lesson and knew it was rude to leave the table without the hosts/hostesses permission. |

"You girls are dismissed. I forgot to mention that the homework is due June 22, by midnight EST." |

Sighing with relief that the "lesson" was over, Nathalie left the room with the other girls. At least the homework assignment implied that they would be learning something about DADA next lesson. She knew a couple of defensive spells, and was sure she could find out some more in the library. As for defensive subjects she wanted to learn about - well, her problem would be keeping her list to just five! |
Nikki left the room with the other girls. At least the homework assignment had something to do with DADA. She knew alot of defence spells but she would have to keep it down to five, oh joy! |
Nikita silently put her utensils on top of her plate, took off the formal robe and put it back where she had got it, and discovered her book bag tucked into a corner. She scooped up the bag, already planning what to write down for homework. "Thank you, Professor Rae," she said as she walked out the door. "It was a delicious meal, and certainly an...interesting lesson. I'll be looking forward to the next one!" |
Chalice rushed into the room to get the homework assignment. She decided to get all the homework that she possibly could to earn house points. When Chalice was sure that everyone had left exept Professor Rae she reentered the room. She said " Here Professor Rae, this is for you." Chalice handed the professor the basket containing Fire wiskey, drooble's best blowing gum, a couple of licorice wands, and five chocolate frogs. "Good bye Professor." she said as she turned on her heel and left the room. |
The lesson was over. Ella stretched and looked at the homework. This wasn't too hard! She stood up and left the classroom. "Bye, Professor Rae," she said as she exited the classroom. |
