Professor Branxton found an abandoned broom cupboard to brew the potion. He set everything up and waited for students to bring him the ingredients needed. While he waited, he pinned a copy of the potion directions to the wall. Quote:

Instructions:
1) Stew mandrake root with clazoarl for thirteen days and seven hours. Replenish water as needed.
2) Pour off excess water from mandrake root (take care not to pour out the clazoarl!) and add leech juice. Allow to ferment for seven days.
3) Add vinegar to the stewed and fermented mandrake root and boil until there is no vinegar remaining.
4) Add water and bring to a boil. Then, reduce flame and simmer for forty-seven minutes and three seconds, stirring counterclockwise for the duration of the simmer.
5) Add black beetle eyes, maintaining the counter clockwise stirring for an additional forty seven seconds. Then, begin to stir in a serpentine motion while removing the cauldron from all heat.
6) Allow the mixture to cool while maintaining the serpentine stirring movement. (This can take several hours).
7) Add the ancient fluorescent clam mold and spray the affected person down with the potion. | |

Lyra shrugged to Jason. "Well, we think it might be because there are not a lot of eagles that fly the grounds and into the castle," she gave a half smile and blinked. "My name is Lyra by the way. Nice to meet you, Jason." The Hufflepuff would have extended a hand in greeting but they were rather full at the moment as she held the eagle with one hand and strokes it's feathers with the other.

| The REAL Sorting Hat: "Ravenclaw!" This monkey is bananas.
She opened a tired eye and looked at the worms the smaller Earth Walker held in his hand. At this point she didn't care wht she ate or how, she needed something. Being careful to not hurt the one who held her, she lifted her head and took a few worms, eating them quickly. She felt a little better once the worms were gone and blinked, looking around before lying her head down again.

Yeah.. i hope this works." he said as he moved to push the panther further on top of his back." do you guys know anyone who went missing?" he asked looking at Rhainnon and Mia. he chuckled a little as he looked at rhiannon and mia."Maybe we can give mia the potion and she might be nice to me." he smiled at mia as he grinned.

Rhiannon nodded as she folowed Amelia inside the cupboard, shutting the door behind her. She could see that they weren't the only ones bringing animals in, and didn't figure she should leave the door open so any of them could get out. It had been Lainey's idea that the clams may be connected to the way to cure the transformed students, but as far as she was concerned, it was Branxton who really had done most of the work.
As Josh asked if they had known any of the students, and Amelia answered, Rhiannon nodded again. "Ariana was pretty much the only one I knew too." As Josh teased them about the potion making Amelia be nice to him, she grinned. "Wishful thinking there. I'm pretty sure it's not that type of potion. I think you'll have to look elsewhere."
She was slightly thrown as Amelia announced their arrival to the professors. She had seen Lyra notice them, and didn't figure it would be too hard to notice that they'd come in the room with a sleeping panther.

The panther stirred on the males back, but she didn't wake. A low purr vibrated against his skin and her eyes opened slowly. She wasn't on the floor anymore, and she didn't like this. Growling she retracted her razor sharp claws and thrust them across Josh's back. Falling on her feet she crouched down low and growled at the two-legged animals.
Especially the male who had carried her off, how dare he treat her like a piece of meat. She tried to dig her nails into the stone floor, but instead ended up making a terrible screeching noise that didn't even faze her. Her eyes were out to kill now. | |

Amelia glanced around the cupboard while waiting for the professors to get back to her, when she spotted her. Lyra. It was too late, the girl had clearly already seen her. She shook her head, still not understanding what the girl's vengeance against her was; could Lyra not tell that Mia and Josh were simple friends.
Looking away from her housemate, she nodded at Rhiannon as she also appeared to have known Ariana. Then again, she should since they were in the same house.
"Josh. You feed me love potion, and well, let's just say you'll wish you hadn't," she said, a delicious glint in her green eyes. She was quite enjoying this, except the fact that Erikson ignored the Panther in there and just got sprayers for the eagle and fox. Until, she was startled by the sound of a low purr.
"Josh! Loo-" Amelia cried out, but it was too late. The claws had scraped Josh's back and she was now crouching low between others in the room. Oh no! She had made it this far with the panther and she was not about to give up on it now. Instinctively pulling her wand out, she pointed it at the darned large cat, despite that she wouldn't dare hex it. But threats never hurt. "Come here, panther," she called sweetly to it, patting her thigh. Too bad her messenger bag with sweets was locked up in dorm. She dug into her pocket just hoping she had something... anything. One chocolate frog. Hopefully it would be enough..

The panther gave the female a look of disgust, she should have finished her off when she had the chance. She growled the female and snarled baring her sharp row of canines, she was still woozy but that didn't stop her from threatening them all.
The male was on the floor now like a weakling, she would get him while he was down. Mouth wide open she charged at him to get a good chunk but instead she ended up toppling over like a bowling pin. | |

Lyra noticed that Professor Erikson not only sprayed the fox but then moved to attend to the eagle as well. She kept the eagle close to her until she heard Mia yell. Her head snapped up just in time to see Josh falling to his knees. Her mouth flew open with surprise as she looked to Agie. "Hold her, please," she asked as she carefully as she then handed the eagle over to Agie and ran to Josh.
She stood for a moment as she saw him reaching for his wand. It was best not to get in the way of a wand that was aimed. "Let's get you to Ari, Josh," she spoke in a panic as she fell to the floor next to him, scared. She looked back to the panther and noticed she was still.

Agie had flown into the broom cupboard after Lyra. She dismounted her broom and raced over. Luckily Jason had some worms to feel the poor starving eagle. She was soo happy that Lyra and herself managed to catch the eagle.
Agie glanced to see Josh and surprise surprise Amelia. She gave her a dirty look and then rolled her eyes at her, muttering insults to Lyra here and there.
He attentions turned to Josh as the panther attacked him, she let out a gasp as she went to run towards Josh. Before she could Lyra handed her the Eagle. Agie took the eagle and started to pat it as she too made her way over to Josh, hoping that he was okay.

Once the eagle was taken care of, he turned to spray the panther which had entered next and caused some chaos. "Goodness... it's rather crowded in here. Can we stop bringing the animals in here and find some place larger to take them?"

Amelia gasped in horror as she took her eyes off the panther a moment, to see Josh fall to the floor. But then, he did the one thing that she had warned him against. He hexed the poor thing! She was about to call out on him, when Lyra ran over and fell on the floor next to him. Turning her back on the two of them, she looked back at the panther, keeping a watchful eye on it.
The panther toppled over from the hex that Josh had cast on it, causing the sixth year to quickly rush over to its side forgetting that it snarled at her seconds before. She wrapped her arm around its soft body and stroked its back gently, holding back the tears as best as possible. "Panther..." she murmured softly into its fur.
Until she vaguely heard Erikson's voice over the noise in there. Not paying much attention, she suddenly felt this odd wetness on the back of her robes. Sitting up suddenly, she looked over at the Herbology professor. "Merlin! You've got more on me than the panther, I think!"

Lyra stood up after Josh moved over next to the panther. He stated what he wanted to do, not to her but to the professor. Well, there was her answer. She stood for a moment watching the professor once more spraying the next animal, the panther. Her eyes then shifted back to Agie for a moment. "Do you think we should set the eagle down on a table?" She was concerned that if this potion really did work, Agie was holding the eagle. That bird might become heavy if it was a student.

There was no way Josh would be going to the hospital wing. He was way too stubborn. Agie looked back up at Lyra. "Yeah good idea." She said, walking over and placing the Eagle on a nearby table. She gave her on more pat and went over to Lyra. "Too bad the Panther didn't get Mia, instead of Josh." She whispered in a giggle. "All she cares about is the animal."
