Professor Branxton found an abandoned broom cupboard to brew the potion. He set everything up and waited for students to bring him the ingredients needed. While he waited, he pinned a copy of the potion directions to the wall. Quote:

Instructions:
1) Stew mandrake root with clazoarl for thirteen days and seven hours. Replenish water as needed.
2) Pour off excess water from mandrake root (take care not to pour out the clazoarl!) and add leech juice. Allow to ferment for seven days.
3) Add vinegar to the stewed and fermented mandrake root and boil until there is no vinegar remaining.
4) Add water and bring to a boil. Then, reduce flame and simmer for forty-seven minutes and three seconds, stirring counterclockwise for the duration of the simmer.
5) Add black beetle eyes, maintaining the counter clockwise stirring for an additional forty seven seconds. Then, begin to stir in a serpentine motion while removing the cauldron from all heat.
6) Allow the mixture to cool while maintaining the serpentine stirring movement. (This can take several hours).
7) Add the ancient fluorescent clam mold and spray the affected person down with the potion. | |

The fox looked around the room, he had been in here before and he recognized both of the two legged creatures. They were his friends, even though this room was a bit strange and he felt a little uncomfortable here. They had brought him back to this room again, he hoped nothing bad was going to happen. He wouldn't let anyone put him in a cage ever again!

The fox looked at the two legged creature. He seemed to be talking about him, but he wasn't sure what he was saying. He was getting an idea that it was something about testing something on him. That made him a little scared. He wasn't sure if he should run or stay. All the two legged creatures seemed to want him to be the one to receive this test.

He knew that he had once been something other than a fox, and that the people here were all trying to help him get back to that thing that he used to be. Doyle carefully ladled the potion into Erikson's sprayer. "Let's hope this works," he said. "I'll wait to fill the others until we're sure. It saves us the trouble of cleaning them all out if they don't."

Lyra walked into the broom cupboard carrying the eagle in her arms. "Agie and I have captured the eagle as well, Professors," she said as she laid the broom up against the wall. She walked over to where Professor Braxton stood and looked down at the beautiful creature that was wrapped in ropes to keep it from flying.

The Eagle looked up from keepin g itself awake and noticed some other Earth Walkers. Its eyes grew wide and it began fighting again weakly however since it was too tired to do much else. The ropes weren't going anywhere but these new Earth Walkers didn't look trustful. She gave a feeble screech and furrowed her eyes in apparant anger.

Lyra continued to lightly stroke the eagle's feathers when another student walked up with worms. Worms? Birds ate worms, but if this was a student, she would hope that they would not eat worms. It was worth a try. "Oh it wouldn't hurt to try," she said as she turned her body to where the boy was. "I know for a fact that she is tired. She hardly put up a fight," she said as she looked down to her arm once more. "But just because she is tired doesn't mean that she can't completely fight back." She shook her head for a moment as Lyra was becoming tired herself.
