"True, true," Antwone said. "Well, I guess we'll wait to see what all this ruckus is about once we get to school. I would like to take a short nap before we get there so, if you'll excuse me."

Antwone laid his head against the window and closed his eyes, waiting for sleep to capture him.

Jeremiah nodded before turning to watch everyone get sorted out some more. The time till they got to Hogwarts seemed to be ticking incredibly slow.

Zander lifted his head and twirled his wand, bored.

Myles sat down not liking the whole sorting thing but he kept quiet and just watch the other students who were awaiting the same arrival he was. He walked past Antwone remembering the boy from seeing him in Diagon Alley. He took a seat and waited to hear more about what was going on.

Okay, this girl -- and there was no doubt she was a girl in Will's mind -- got mad props and Will's utter respect for taking the candy and the toad... His absolute best girl-gross out moves -- aside from bodily noises -- defeated. He didn't care if she was a girl; Will wasn't going to rat her out further. He beamed at her. "Caught her myself in the swamps in Louisiana; I visited there over the summer. My grandmother says he was a dark wizard's toad-- see how he has four eyes?" he grinned, moving to eat one of the Every Flavour beans before remembering that not only were they lint-covered but that they were the ones he knew were horrible-- bogey, vomit, and the like. He casually put them back in his pocket. "So, Jeremiah.. Where are you from? Tell us about yourself." This should be an interesting story, at least. Will sat back to enjoy, hoping she was good at spinnin' yarns. So far, she sure seemed to be.

Sho walked into a carriage after Eddie and Cale. He watched Eddie master his way through people to get into the one he wanted while still holding his bat's cage.

"So boys. Are we excited about this change or morally opposed?" Sho asked, getting in next to Cale.

Somehow he knew the answer.

Jermiah smiled. "That must have been fun. I've never been to the States before myself. I was born in Peterborough. My father left us when I was two. My mother was a muggle so it scared her quite a bit when I made her miniature plant grow eight feet tall so I could climb onto the roof. That was when I was eight and a half. I guess my father must have been a wizard. What about you? What's your story?" He leaned over and pet the frog again, checking out the eyes.

Plunking down on the carriage seat with bat cage on his lap, Eddy peered around the edge. "A whole term without girls? Are you kidding? Couldn't have planned it better myself!" Eddy eyed Sho suspiciously. Maybe Sho was one of those boys who'd cross over - maybe he liked girls. After all, he'd asked the 'kissing' question. Would Eddy never again meet a man unfettered by a sensitivity for the opposite gender?!

One by one, in the last year Eddy had watched his pals fall prey to the female's wiley ways. But as Eddy's hero, Willie Walker, so aptly observed 'dames'll get you nowhere faster than a broken broom in a hurricane.' Sure, Willie had a soft spot for the pretty broad, but he knew his priorities - and they didn't include 'getting saddled with a chick and her idea of romance.' And Eddy could (and often would) quote Willie on that.

"What about you, Cale? You gonna be okay?" After all, the guy sported flowers. Girls probably liked him.

James boarded the carriage. He sat down and looked around. The other guys looked just as confused.
"Guess I won't be getting my answer yet." he thought.

Feeling slightly on edge, he reached into his robe pocket and pulled out his wand, setting it in his lap...just in case.

He grinned. This chick was cooool. "I'm English- my mum is from just outside London, but my pop is from Louisiana, in the States. They met at a wizard rock concert here in the U.K... Pop was so taken with her he begged my grandparents to transfer him from Salem School to Hogwarts in his last years. They got married and had us-- me, and my six little sisters." He held the toad closer to her so she could fully appreciate Freddy's splendor. "I'm basically a normal guy-- I like muggle stuff and wizard stuff, love Quidditch, comics, reading, stuff like that. "

"What do you do for fun, besides studying? And what are you studying to become?"

Jeremiah glanced at the frog as it was pushed closer to her. "I like to read and I play quidditch with my friends over holiday, but I'm lousy at it. I'm studying to be a Auror. I know I'm not the usual type they go for, but I might as well try." He looked around. "How much longer do you think until we leave for the castle?"

"Hey, we should play Quidditch- I'm a heck of a beater." he grinned. "And I think it's great that you're shooting for Auror. I'm gonna be a HIT Wizard myself... Then be on the Wizengamot." he grinned. "It shouldn't be much longer... What do you think is up with the no more co-eds thing?"

Jeremiah grimaced. "I don't think we should play together, I'm horrible, really." He thought for a minute. "Maybe they just got sick of all the snogging. It is rather disgusting. All of those mushy, romantic couples."

Will nodded, though only halfheartedly. He'd never kissed a girl like that even on the cheek, much less snogged one. Not that he was really looking to do that just yet-- such things were still truly beyond the scope of his imagination, however vivid it might be. Holding hands... perhaps a kiss on the cheek. Anything more and he'd probably melt. "Yeah. Mushy." He said, then sat a moment in quiet reflection. He lowered his voice and leaned closer to speak with her privately. "So, have you figured out what you're going to do when you get to the castle? I mean... the logistics of it; where you'll sleep and stuff? I just wonder how far in advance you've thought things through." He genuinely liked her and didn't like the idea of her getting expelled for misconduct.

Bob turned around to see a student acting strangely. At a closer glance students was not wearing pants... was that a skirt peeking out from under the robes? This did not make him happy. Any disturbances would only make getting to the school even more delayed. This meant that he would have to wait even more for the feast. “YOU” He screamed. “Have you forgotten if you are a boy or a girl? Or do you like to just dress like a girl?” Bob said, as he slowly walked up to the student and grabbed her/his/its arm with his grubby, sticky hands. He was out of breath now, due to walking a little too fast to reach the student. “5 points from Ravenclaw. Now start explaining and quickly before it is 10 points. If you have any food, it may be in your advantage.” He said bending over to study the student more.

Jeremiah grinned. Then leaned over and whispered. "There are plenty of couches." He was about to add more when his arm was grabbed.


"Excuse me sir, what are you talking about?" Jeremiah was wearing a pair of black cotton pants under his robes. "Why are you taking points from my house? I haven't done anything wrong." When he mentioned food, Jeremiah remembered the stash of goods always kept in his backpack. He pulled them out and layed them in front of him, everything from off the trolley and a few pieces of apple pie from mum.

Will quickly whipped out the pumpkin pasties he had bought on the trolley, glad he'd remembered to wrap them in a napkin and stored them in the pocket NOT occupied by his toad. "Food? I have food, sir..." he offered. He didn't like the way the driver was treating this girl. "Here, you can have these- fresh pumpkin pasties, on me. And please, meaning no disrespect, but maybe you could please let me friend go while we talk? After all, if you think that my new friend -- whose name is Jeremiah, kind sir-- is a lady, well, there's no call to manhandle a lady, now is there?" He looked at the driver plaintively, offering him the pasties.

Professor Erikson glided toward where there seemed to be some ruckus. He raised a brow at the grabbing of one of the students, and heard mention of food. What in the world? "What's the delay over here, Thorton?"

Caleum turned his attention to the man that seemed to be helping on gather the boys to their carriages. "Everything okay?" he asked as he sighed and rolled his eyes. Interesting term with this one! He stood back a ways but kept an eye out for what was going on. There were still a lot of students that needed to make their way to the carriages. "Let's move it a little faster, guys. We need to get to school today." He gave a wave of his hand gesturing everyone to their appropriate place.

Irial frowned as he was led over to an area where only boys were. Why on earth would they separate the boys from the girls? He wondered if this horrid school had always done that. Shaking his head so his long black hair covered his dark purple eyes, he slipped into the middle of the pack, so he wouldn't be noticed.

He could only hope that his Shadow Girl, Caitlin, was doing alright. He could already feel the pull of wanting to be near her. He was glad though, that she awoke before the train pulled into the station. It meant that she was definitely strong enough. He tried to not focus on Caitlin, but it was difficult. Instead, he drank the confused emotions of the boys around him, his 'owl' Gabriel hooting softly on his shoulder.

As Dusty parted from his female friends at the platform and made his way to the carriages that were housing the males such as himself. Phineas the ferret was just as confused as he was, and a bit scared due to his body language. He was hiding, and hiding well, within Dustin's black hair. Constantine had already flown off to hunt for the night and he was sure the eagle-owl would not take to this new way of things either. He had been at Hogwarts long before Dusty after all. The young man walked quickly and quietly towards a carriage and climbed in, wishing that he had at least stuck with Curt or someone of his own gender.

Seriously, what was happening here? Why was he being separated from all of his friends and where in the world were they going? That was his biggest concern: where they were going. Great, my first year at Hogwarts and already strange things are happening. Nice job Dust. He looked around at the faces in the carriage, not recognizing anyone. He sighed inwardly then chanced a glance at Phineas who was now looking around the carriage and sniffing the changed air.

Frowning to himself, Irial followed the throng of boys and entered one of the carriages. Fortunately this was empty. He wondered if a Professor was around, so he could demand why they were being separated from the girls. It ticked him off, and he wanted to be near Caitlin again. He could feel the pull growing stronger every moment he was away from her. His dark purple eyes flashed angrily as he stared out the window. Gabriel hooted softly on his shoulder, trying to calm him down.

It didn't work.

Alex silently and solemly boarded a carraige.

Bob wasn't interested in the food from this kid. He was getting angry now. This kid was trying to play games with him. There was going to be trouble. "Don't play dumb with me kid. If you're a boy then I am a swimsuit model." He growled, letting go of the student.

He turned to see another annoying kid talking to him. What now? Ahh, he had some good food. Bob grabbed the food and started munching on it. "Beat it kid, before I take away points from slytherin." He mumbled with his mouth full.

Bob looked up to see Erikson coming his way. "This kid, thinks it is a boy. I know it is a girl, that is the problem. It thinks it can just come with the boys." He said, folding his arms.


"It's fine. I just want to move everything along and get to the feast." Bob said. Looking the man up and down. He looked young and annoying.

Dusty heard a bit of commotion outside of his carriage, but didn't bother to peek. He did know someone was having an argument and that one of the professors were interceding, which was good. Maybe he should ask one of the professors to tell him what was going on? But would they tell him? He knew something always happened at school, but Vee never told him exactly who had told her about it. He'd probably have to figure this all out himself, but hopefully with the help of Curt and Joey.

Sighing, the young man decided to make himself comfortable since he had no idea how long he'd be on this carriage. Phineas had finally fallen asleep on his shoulder, but Dusty knew there was no way he'd be able to sleep as soundly.
