Steelsheen grinned "You're welcome Professor, and go ahead, take as much as you wish." she replied as she set the sweets down by her desk in case the Professor would like to have some more as she continued with her lesson.

Upon hearing the next question she raised her hand and replied "To calculate the Fourth challenge number, one has to subtract the year of birth from the month of one's birth."

Evangeline couldn't help but to wonder what was wrong with Macadrian - it wasn't normal for the Professor to be like this. She always appeared to be rather strong. Smiling warmly at the older woman, she rose her hand. "To calculate the Fourth challenge number, we have to subtract the year of birth from the month of birth, Professor."

Amelia beamed when the Professor took the cup from her, and she carefully removed the top from the flask and filled up the cup with pumpkin juice. "No problem Professor. Always good to keep something for emergencies..." Not that she was in danger of being stranded someplace with no food or drink, but you never really could be certain.

Resuming her seat quietly when the Professor tried to get them back on track, she raised one hand, using her other hand to awkwardly put away her unused goodies. "You would calculate your fourth challenge number by taking the year of your birth minus the month of your birth."

"Excellent! Three points apiece for your answers!"

As the pumpkin juice began to hit her blood stream, Macadrian already began to feel a bit better, stronger. Standing from her chair, but still keeping her hands on her desk to brace herself, Shackleton requested, "Now, everyone please calculate your Fourth Challenge number and find the textbook's explanation. Please include your Fourth Challenge Age, which is the same as your Fourth Pinnacle Age. If you'd like to share your information with the class, please do so at this time."

Crystal noted that the Professor was begining to look a little better and went back to her work.

Amelia nodded at the Professor, she kept a careful an eye on her making sure she was okay with standing up. She then proceeded to calculate her challenge number, while still looking up every now and then to check on Shackleton.

Looking over her previous challenges, she realized that it stayed the same from her third challenge number. Weird, she thought as she then realized something. Nothing would likely change too much in her life after the age of 40. Raising her hand, she looked up towards the professor to report on her challenges. "My fourth challenge number interestingly enough remains as it was for the Third. I guess this means that i will still be struggling with this challenge even after nine years, and will struggle with false superficialities and conceitedness until death..."

Glad that the Professor seemed to have regained some of her normal strength, Evangeline looked down at her notebook to calculate her Fourth Challenge.

And 3 again! Evangeline had to admit, she was a bit worried now. Three was her first challenge, her third challenge AND her fourth challenge! Whoa. "Three times lucky, I suppose." She muttered, a bit stunned. Twas weeeeeird!

Astrid was happy that the Professor's color was returning to her face. That could only mean that she was starting to feel better. Feeling a little relieved so focused her attention back on her work.

"Professor my Fourth Challenge is also a 5. That's my third 5, mind you." she laughed. "So I will once again be learning to be more flexible and adapt better to change. I guess that will be my focus until the day I leave this earth." she said with a smile.

"I think my fourth challenge number is 4 again." she said "Which, as I said before, I think, is pretty much saying that I will learn how to work with certain rules, and restrictions, how to work with others, and be more open-minded of others opinions. And how to more patient, and less narrow-mined."

Professor Shackleton made sure her head was clear enough and her legs steady before walking over to the students' desks to check their calculations. She peeked at Crystal's parchment at her request and saw that her calculations looked accurate. "You seem to have done a nice job with the numbers. And thank you for your concern, but the nurse will not be necessary. I'm feeling quite a bit better already." She smiled reassuringly at Crystal and then headed back to the front of the classroom.


She turned to face her students and spoke, "You've all done a wonderful job this lesson. I'm quite proud of the work you've accomplished. Your homework assignment will be posted later today on the board outside my office. You're free to go. Thank you again for those who offered me candy and juice. I really appreciate it. Next time, I promise I'll come a bit more prepared." Shackleton chuckled softly and then concluded, "Have a good afternoon ladies."

Amelia was happy to see that the Professor was returning to her usual self and wondered slightly if perhaps the Professor had a history of low blood pressure or fainting. She nodded when she said the homework would be posted later today and shut her notebook. Carefully slipping it into the bag, she nodded at the Professor. "Thank you Professor and feel better. Have a great afternoon yourself," she smiled at the woman. One professor she surely would miss.
