The Herbology office had been strangely redecorated. Stepping in there are sounds of Mozart and Beethoven, for those who would recognize it. Most often playing is Moonlight Sonata. The walls are lined with black velvet, draped in blue and silver cloth. The atmosphere is dark and humid with exotic plants all around, small suns hanging over each one in different intensities. Some are rare, and some don't look familiar at all. At the back of the office is an oak desk with dark varnish and a black marble top. The chairs are dark oak with plush blue velvet and silver trim.

Behind the desk sits Professor Erikson, smiling softly and inviting you in. He's fairly pale for someone who works outdoor often (though fairly normal for the average person), with contrasting long black hair. Some of it falls into his face, but the rest is pulled back in a low ponytail. His soft blue eyes are accepting of the questions you have. As you have a seat he lowers the music volume.

"Yes, childe?"

He smiled and saw Marco out before turning back to Jasmine once more. However, he stayed by the door. "So, Jasmine, how can I help you? Or are you just in for a chat?"

Jasmine smiled at Marco but looked away quickly, she wasn't sure what her feelings were at seeing him after so long.

After he left, she turned to her adoptive father and smiled,and though it was slightly strained it was genuinely fond. Moving forward sightly, she gave him hug, but no sooner than she had wrapped her arms around him, she felt a sharp burning pain on her chest where the locket lay hidden under her robes.

Pulling back rather quickly, her hand automatically covering where the the locket lay, she looked around nervously and said softly,"Well, um.. I just.. a chat. If you have time of course, if you are busy I can come back later."

The locket had started pulsing,it knew where she was of course, and who with, and it was not very happy.Not at all. Concentrating hard, Jasmine pushed any voices she might have heard out of her head and waited for the professor to speak. She was now not too sure this was such a good idea, how do you tell your father that you think you might be going mental?

He moved to hug her, but she suddenly pulled away as though she had been burnt. He watched her hand go to her chest, where he assumed the locket was. Perhaps it was best that he blocked the door after all. He silently cast wards on the room, deciding he needed to keep anyone from leaving, or her from escaping if that locket controlled her.

"Of course," he said with a genuine smile. "I always have time for my daughter. Is there something on your mind?"

Jasmine almost laughed out loud at his words, something on my mind indeed. Instead, she turned away and began to fidget. Sitting down, she searched for the right words to say.

She remembered what Xana and her friend had told her at the end of last term and her thoughts began to jumble. Frowning, she rubbed her forehead and bit her lip as she fought to take control of what she wanted to say. The burning on her chest became more intense as she refused to let the locket take over. Her hand once again covered the locket, hoping to stop the pain.

Looking up at her father, her hazel eyes deeply troubled, she said just above a whisper,"I thi-think something is wrong with me."

He frowned, approaching her. "Something wrong? Like what?" But his eyes traveled down to where she covered her chest once more. She looked as though she were pained somehow. "What's going on, Jasmine?"

The strain of trying to keep herself under control was taking it's toll on Jasmine. A fne sheen of sweat covered her brow and her face was very pale.Taking a deep breath, she went on to say with some difficulty," I have been hearinf voices, well a voice, and it tells me to do and say things I don't want to do. Xana told me it was-...."Jasmine stopped on a gasp as a pain like no other shot through her body. Clutching at her throat and chest, she felt any semblence of control she had slip away.

"What are you doing?! Stop! Do not tell him anymore, he must not know! He is deceiving you, tricking you! He wants to put you away somewhere, that is why he has locked you in!"

Shaking her head,Jasmine mumbled, "No! I don't believe you." However, she felt herself get up suddenly and bolt for the door, trying the handle, she soon realized it was locked! Turning back, she began to pace as she became confused, "I-I need to go, I'm not feeling very well. Open the door please?"
She glanced at her father pleadingly though her eyes seem slightly glazed over.

"Xana mentioned about the locket already." He moved towards her, concern in his eyes. "I had a feeling that the locket would do anything it needed to in order to keep it from being taken, so I locked you in here. I'm sorry, Jasmine, but I need to take it from you."

Jasmine's eyes widened as he came closer and she backed away automatically. Part of her wanted him to take the locket and free her from its hold but another, more stronger part felt she need to defend it. Fumbling with her her robes, Jasmine took out her wand and pointed it at her father, her hand was shaking quite badly.

"You must protect me,il mio fiore piccolo,after all I have done for you. You will be with your real parents forever, is that not what you want?"

Feeling very confused, Jasmine brought her free hand up to her ear and covered it. "Stop! Stop! Stop!" Tears started to fall steadily down her face as she tried to think of what was right, what was real.Removing her hand from her ear, she placed it protectively over her robes where the locket lay hidden.

Taking another step backward, Jasmine waved her wand erratically at her father and said pleadingly,"P-Please, leave us alone! L-Let me out! Please, Papa, please...." She finished feebly on a sob feeling very weak and petrified she would hurt the one man who has been a true father to her.

"Sweetie, I love you, and I know you don't want to do this. I can see how much the locket is hurting you, and I've been trying to find a way to make it stop or get it away. But I have to take that locket from you. It's the only thing I've got left."

He held up his hands, showing that he wasn't holding his wand. It had been tucked back into its holster shortly after warding his office. Accessible, easily, but even he wasn't sure he could draw it fast enough if she actually cast at him. He continued to move toward her, carefully watching her every move.

"Jasmine, I'm terribly worried about you. About this locket. I want to find out what's going on, but you have to fight it. You have to work with me."

Tears were falling much faster now as Jasmine listened to his words of love for her. She had backed up as far as she could and she watched as he drew closer, his hands up in surrender. The hand holding her wand was anything but steady as she shook her head back and forth and whispered,"'Stop Papa! Stop..."

"Curse him! Curse him now! He will soon separate us if you do not and your parents will be lost forever! FOREVER!"

Jasmine started whimpering and she became even more distressed. "No,no,no,no, I-I can't! I can't..." Something deep inside her stopped her from casting any sort of spell at her father, so she tried to find a way of escape. Looking around frantically, she side stepped until she put his desk between them, her wand still pointed at his heart.

"S-Stay there. Just stay there.I need to think...I need to protect you from it."

"Enough of this! It is time! Come to us Jasmine.Comes to us now!"

Jasmine's free hand had been cupping her forehead, but her control had all but gone. Slowly she reached into her robes and pulled out the locket. Glancing at it quickly, she gasped as she saw that it was no longer a gleaming silver but was now the deepest black. Tracing the encraved "S" upon the locket, it opened as it always did, except instead of peaceful blue swirls they were red and gray.

Not yet looking inside, Jasmine felt the familiar pulsing in her chest and the semi trance state that usually overcomes her. She knew all she had to do was look inside and she would be with her parents forever or would she? What if it was this wraith Xana spoke of? Did she want to leave? Her eyes found her adoptive father's and she saw the love and worry there for her. She thought of Her adoptive mother and her little brother. No, she wanted to stay, she wouldn't give up what she had seeked her entire life, a loving family that accepted her for who she was, unconditionally.

Her eyes never left his and she summoned a hidden strength to try and fight. "No! I won't go! I want to stay here!" Jasmine attempted to pull the locket over her head, but as she did the black chain quickly tightened around her neck to the point of choking her. Dropping her wand, she gasped and tried desperately to claw at the chain, but it tightened even further to where it was now cutting her skin. Her eyes full of horror, she silently pleaded for her father to help her.

He rushed to her, growling, pulling at the locket trying to break it away from her. "Let go of my daughter!" he shouted at the thing with a snarl. It burned at his hand, feeling like piercing needled, but he kept hold of it tightly. "You are not taking my daughter from me. And if I have anything to say about it, your broken shards are being sent straight to the Department of Mysteries for further destruction!" He gripped the locket, trying to pry the chain, holding so hard that it cut into his hand, drawing blood. He winced and pulled harder, needing to get the thing off of her as soon as possible. He was not going to let the stupid chunk of metal or the wraith attached to it have her!

Alex aproached Armand's office door at a leisurly pace, she raised her fist to knock on the door when she heard shouting from inside. Her eyes widened, things sounded very wrong in there. Alex reached for the knob but the door refused to budge. "Armand are you alright? Whats going on?" she yelled pounding on the door with her fist. She quickly drew her wand and waited to see if he responded, if not, she was going in.

That was all she needed to hear. Alex, completly forgeting about the wand in her left hand, kicked Erickson's door as hard as she could and was rewarded with the sound of the wood splintering and the door swinging open. Rushing into the room Alex quickly tried to make sense of what was going on, from what she could tell there was something dreadfully wrong with that locket Armand had a hold of. She quickly grabbed the back of the necklace to try and unhook it but jumped back in shock when it burned her hands.

A determined look came over her face as she quickly cast a numbing charm on her hands and once again attacked the locket. After a few minutes of struggling, she managed to unhook the cursed thing from the poor girl's neck and fell backwards onto the floor where she sat panting and looking at her horribly burnt, ripped open and bleeding hands. 'I thin I need to get to the hospital wing.' she thought with a grimace as the numbing charm started to wear off. The pain was getting closer to line that seperated bad from excruciating.

Jasmine had seen her father rush to her side and try to pry the cursed locket from her, seeing him wince in pain she tried to help get it off. Her hands were covered in the blood now seeping from her neck and hands. Her eyes were wide open but an encroaching blackness appeared at the edges of her vision as she tried to breathe.

She was barely aware of someone else entering the room, there was yelling, so far away... Blinking at the darkness engulfing her, Jasmine started to go limp. Her bloodied hands fell away from her throat and she could feel others tugging at the wretched thing around her neck.

Just as she thought that she was going to die, she felt the chain snap and for a brief second she could almost breathe. However, the damage to her neck was rather severe.She felt herself fall sideways as she passed out, her last thought that her father was alright as she landed with a heavy thud upon the floor.

Alex nodded and pulled herself up off the floor. She darted out of the room hopping over the fallen door, leaving a trail of blood droplets behind her.

Armand dropped his wand and clumsily pulled Jasmine close, holding onto her. "Don't worry, Jasmine. I'm going to fix this. I swear. Stay with me, sweetie." He kept whispering to her, but he was shaking. It was hard to be soothing when your voice kept wavering.

Jasmine tried to fight through the darkness at the sound of her father's voice reached her. However, she couldn't seem too move or make any sound but the merest whimper. She tried to come to but she felt very light headed and quickly drifted off into the darkness once more. Her face, if possible, had become even paler as a small pool of blood began to form under her.

Josh came into Erikson's office with Blaylock and the transfiguration teacher in his arms." Professor!" he said as he then noticed him." I brought teachers." he told him. not to mention a sleeping one. he laid the professor in a safe spot as he then moved over to Erikson." Tell me what to do."

Armand could feel the blood soaking into his clothes. "I'm sorry, Jasmine. Just hang in there a little while longer, but I can't hold you right now, sweetie." He shifted her off of his lap gently and picked up his wand. He whispered a spell over her, frowning at the strange feeling of casting with his weak hand, but managing to stop most of the bleeding. "Check on Jasmine, Josh. I think I've stopped the bleeding but I can't see clearly enough."

Heading outside, the blood from his hand fell along his path, marking the wooden floor. He fell quickly to the ground once he was a good distance away, the pain starting to become unbearable, and began to dig a small hole. He warded the hole and the surrounding area. When he opened his hand, the locket had to be peeled from his palm. He managed to get it into the hole and rewarded it, in case the thing could manage to move on its own. He took some steps back and took his wand into his left hand, though it was horribly painful, and cast at the locket. "Incendio!" The force of the casting was nearly that of a small explosion. He could only hope that the locket was affected.

"Sure thing professor." he told him as he looked at the Jasmine. he took a moment to see the professor going else where. He looked at her as their was a small blood pool. it seemed like she was still bleeding a little. he moved to rip a piece of his robe off and put it where the wound was. He moved to apply pressure, but it wasnt going to help much. He picked her up as he moved towards the professor." Im going to take her to the hospital wing professor. She looks really pale. Dont forget their is the transfiguration teacher still in your office. Dont worry professor im a fast runner, i'll take care of her." he told him as he cradle her the best he could so when he ran her head wouldn't bounce around.He started off towards the castle.

He nodded to Josh and walked over to the hole in the ground. Everything was burnt, and it was hard to distinguish everything. He dashed back inside his office and brought out a small case. One that he used before in order to contain his Dragon Sand. He nudged up the locket, not checking to see how damaged it was, and closed the box. He warded and sealed it with his blood, not wanting to take any chances.

He walked back into his office, locking the box into his desk, before finally turning to his wife. "Natasha..." He winced as his hand began to throb, a new wave of pain lacing across his palm. It forced him to drop his wand, his other hand going to his arm as though cutting off the circulation to it would stop the pain. "Tash, find something, please. I need this bandaged."

Apedemak burst into the office skidding to a stop. His golden eyes flickered quickly around the room taking in the various details. His eyes ultimately fell upon Professor Erickson. "How can I help?"

Josh Ran back into the room to see Apedemak helping Erikson. "Apedemak...I'll take care of alex." he told him as he moved to pull out some bandages." here." he tossed apedemak some bandages for Erikson. He moved to pick up the teacher as he sighed. Oh man he was getting really tired. Running was bad enough, but carrying people was an extra load. " see you guys." he said as he moved out of the room towards the hospital wing again.
