Xana's eyes flew wide with shock as the horrors of her past came flooding into her mind, haunting her and catching her off guard. "Finite!" she gasped, tears spilling down her cheeks. She narrowed her eyes. "That was low. Really, really low." Feeling a stir of resentment, the duel shifted from mere play to something more serious for her. With a quick flick of her wand she hissed, "Oppugno Dementis, Exponentialis!"

As the dementor started approaching and duplicating, Dia stumbled backward in alarm. 'Damn! What in Merlin's bloody name--!?' she thought, still scrambling backwards away from her worst fears--though it really was no use. That freezing cold terror they carried with them swept over her, when she realized she was completely being stupid a few seconds later, aiming her wand at the oncoming dementors, thinking of the one happy memory she could think of, and growling, "Expecto Patronum!" A gleaming silver wolf sprang onto the floor, snarling and leaping for the dementors. Turning on her heel over to Xana, she glared. "You think what I did was low? That was even lower." she hissed. "Oppugno Crocodylus Porosus!" she muttered.

Marco dropped to the floor. The spell flying over his head. He rolled onto his front and cast a "Expelliarmus". Quickly followed by a silent leglocker at her legs. Hopefully she would block against the first and not see the second coming.

Xana's momentary guilty pleasure at seeing Dia react to the dementor attack instantly dissolved into cold terror at seeing the crocodile.. her one phobia... how could she? As the creature approached rapidly, hissing and grunting, she backed away. "Repello crocodillian!" she cried out, causing the crocodile to back up. "Opus meus mos!" she cried, using her wand to direct the crocodile to return back to Diabolica, its jaws snapping intimidatingly.

ooc: Opus meus mos- 'work my will', spell much like a white-magic version of 'imperio' that allows the caster to control the actions of a conjured creature.

Hermy smiled. She had forgotton that his agility and speed would be better than the average 7th year because of his quidditch. She needed to focus more.

She saw the familiar wand movement for disarming, and Hermy quickly cast "Protego." She was hit by his second charm, however and struggled to keep her balance as her locked together. She laughed at her own mistake, and flicked her wand. "Furnunculus!"

As soon as she completed the charm, Hermy released her legs, and stood more ready to dodge the spells. She also sent "Silencio" to Marco...better to be safe than sorry, afterall.

Dia watched the crocodile approach, smiling. "Redimio," she said calmly, though still trembling slightly from the shock of the dementors coming without warning, her wand pointed at the snapping jaws of the creature. Instantly they snapped shut, and even as the crocodillian tried to squirm out of it, it failed. Vanishing it with a flick of her wand, she turned to Xana. 'Confundo!' she thought.

Emily jumped to her feet, having rested for a few minutes. She dashed over to Dan and started bouncing up and down excitedly. “Wanna go again, Sychev?” She grinned. “C'mon! Or are you scared you’ll be beaten by a girl again?” She stopped bouncing and stuck her tongue out at him. “A younger girl at that...” hah!

Dan grinned slightly as Ems teased him, he wasnt going to let her get at him. " your only one year younger Greenwood " he said as he got up, and looked down at her " ha , im taller " he said as he stuck his tounge out. The two drew wands and bowed , as Dan was pacing away he said over his shoulder " your turn to go first " Dan turned to face her , ready for the Duel.

Dan should have been prepared but he wasnt, he didnt have much time to move, and all he did was feebly move to the side slightly, the spell hit im full on and between been tickled and fits of laughhter he spluttered out " Ems .... you ... c-c-cheat " he rounded his wand on himslef " Finite " he said as he straightened himself up " Now how was that... Furnunculus! "

Attempting to dodge the oncoming spell, Dia scowled, as she had almost made it out of the way, when the spell sliced open her wand hand's forearm to the bone. She looked up at Xana, not even caring to stop the blood from flowing freely yet. "Finished." she spat, her cut stinging. She swished and then flicked her wand in Xana's direction, thinking, 'Wingardium Leviosa!'

Emily couldn’t help laughing as her spell hit Dan full on. Plus his laughing was kinda infectious. She smirked as he called her a cheat. “Oh no, it’s called tactics. The element of surprise you know?” She said as the boy continued to fall about laughing. She was completely unprepared as he sent the boil curse her way. It hit her arm which immediately erupted into angry looking spots. ‘Urgh!’ “Finite” She muttered, pointing her wand at her arm and watched as they faded away. “You’re so not funny, Sych… STELEUS!” swiftly followed by “Expelliarmus”

Dan was slightly suprised when hes curse hit Ems, she always seemed to dodge them. Dan was more prepared this time but as usually happens when he has a spell fired towards him that he doesnt recognise he paniced , he moved backwards and by sheer luck stumbled, thus avoiding the first spell, but he was a little too quick to regain his balance and he was hit by expelliarmus, His wand soared into the air and once again Dan stumbled backwards. Luck again was on his side as Dan managed to catch his wand and send " mordere" in Ems direction. He hadnt tryed the spell before, he knew it gave the feeling that you where been bitten all over but there were no visible marks left, Dan was slightly suprised to see that the spell took the form of a light blue bolt.

Again Emily was too distracted by Dan almost falling backwards AND the fact that her second spell actually hit! Her spellwork was obviously improving.. shame about her ability to focus. It always seemed to let her down. His blue biting curse hit her at full force, sending her stumbling backwards. “Ouch! Ow! GAH!” She cried. What HAD that boy done to her? It was bloody painful, like insect bites. She quickly cast finite and the effects immediately disappeared. She glared at Dan. “Oh, that was so not funny.” She readjusted her stance, took a deep breath and fired Jelly-Legs Jinx back at him.

Dan scrabled back to his feet as his spell had hit Ems, a satisfied smirk spread across his face. The smirk slipped slightly under Ems glare, she could be pretty scary when she wanted to be, Jelly legs GAH ! Dan thought to himslef as he managed to dodge out of his way, He rounded on Ems sticking out his tounge " I thought it was very funny actually Emsy " his smirk had returned, he was in better form than yesterday. Dan then sent the Jelly - Fingers Jinx at her.
